Moving in slightly quicker, Rainbow and the others closed the distance remaining to the house and garage. Thinking quickly, Rainbow scanned the house with a tentacle of her aura and was surprised to find no one else was at home. Not even the dog! With a grunt of frustration, Twilight grabbed something from the desk and pointed the flared end at herself. With a shocking bolt of clarity, Rainbow recognized it as the thing that had given her her powers to begin with. The odd trumpetlike thing went off as Twilight pressed down a plunger, and in an instant the room was filled with an immense flash of energy.

Being aware of the realm of psionics now, the effect of the invention being activated was far more of a spectacle fitting the enormity of the change it caused. The flash of psionic light wasn't a pure white, but a barely distinguishable fluxing field of multiple colors that the psionic eye would see as a shimmering white of many colors that folded into one another in a prismatic kaleidoscope that looked for all the world like a poor man's movie representation of a drug trip as viewed by someone on acid. It was beautiful, and wholly terrifying in its implications for Rainbow.

Instantly, Twilight's field grew larger and larger, a large blob of invading colors growing and finally coalesced slowly into her natural, vibrant purple. In a short moment, she was larger than Rainbow Dash and began to gain ground. Rainbow only barely held her off, her immense psionic field fighting admirably against the invasive field that steadily grew larger.

Using her link with her friends, Rainbow sent all five of them darting around the flanks. As anticipated, Twilight quickly lashed out to hit each of them in hopes to stop them before they could manage anything, only to find Rainbow pushing in hard. The two pronged distraction worked as Rainbow had hoped as Applejack withdrew as lasso from the pack and threw it around the cobbled together invention.

One harsh tug later, the thing clattered to the ground - decently far from Twilight's grasp. Rallying quickly, Twilight shook off the advance and pushed Rainbow back with no mercy - focusing her efforts on her actual enemy. Rainbow took a step back, feeling her field being pushed to its breaking point as the deep purple began to subsume her radiant blue. She grit her teeth, focusing her mind to a razor sharp point, fighting to the bitter end against Twilight.

"It's over, Rainbow Dash!" Twilight called out, clearly straining herself against the first person who had the will and awareness of psionics to resist her aura. "I'm ending this, and then I'm fixing all you've done!" Rainbow hissed through her teeth at this proclamation, falling to her hands and knees and she fought on.

Suddenly, she felt an influx of strength. Looking up, she saw AJ with the psionic amplifier, pointing the strange device at her - releasing a stream of prismatic, field enhancing energy straight into her. Rainbow found the strength to stand and continue the fight, her will unchanged but her mind now matching her will's adamantine qualities.

"No!" Twilight roared, rushing over and unplugging the machine from the wall - killing the stream of energy with a spark from the electrical socket. Twilight looked back Rainbow, gritting her own teeth as she held the large electrical cord. "I won't let you win, Rainbow!"
