Awakening: Chapter 2.
Previous ChapterNext ChapterHe awoke slowly, his joints clicking and whirring as he got up.
[SYSTEM ACTIVATING! LOADING!]
His eyes slowly began to open, the enhanced orbs slowly adjusting to the bright light that surrounded him. The skies back on Earth when he was alive and a complete human were never this bright and clear due to the carbon in the atmosphere. It reminded him of times back home when it would be sunny. He sighed as tears creeped into his eyes. He blinked them out of his eyes as he began to walk.
He zoomed in slightly to get a better look at where he was.
"Where am I?" Kyle asked himself in his mind. He took notice of structures that resembled village houses, as if it was something out of a western TV show or movie. He began to walk into the village, unaware of what would happen next.
He noticed what looked like colorful ponies in the village going about their day.
They began to notice him, as they began to stare at him in shock, uncertainty, fear and confusion.
The amount of fear and shock he felt caused him to let out a short scream as he tried to run off, but was stopped by a group of armor wearing guard ponies.
"Halt! You have been requested by Princess Celestia to talk to you. Please follow us." A guard informed him in a low and gruff voice.
He nodded silently, not wanting to piss them off.
Kyle began to quietly follow them, walking silently towards a gold colored carriage, as if it was something out of a fairytale or kid's movie. They made it to the castle as he stepped out of the carriage, looking up at the the building before him.
He stared up at the castle in awe. Never in his world had there ever been a castle on a mountainside.
Kyle began to follow the guards into the castle, deciding not to talk and rest his sore voice.
He and the group of pony guards stopped at two big golden doors, daring them to enter.
"After you sir." Spoke a guard gruffly.
"After you sir." Kyle requested quietly as he let the guards go through first, the group looking at him in surprise at how respectful he was to them.
He followed them into the throne room, his enhanced eyes recording everything he was hearing and seeing and downloading it straight to his brain.
"Your highness, as requested." A guard spoke softly to the two equine females in front of him. The white and blue mares looking down at him with confusion and excitement.
"Thank you dear guard." The alabaster mare spoke kindly in a soft and almost motherly voice.
The guard blushed and left the room, making kyle chuckle, a few of his teeth being exposed as he did so.
"Hello dear creature, my name is Princess Celestia, and this is my younger sister Luna. What is your name?" Celestia introduced gently, pointing a hoof to the smaller dark blue mare on his right in front of him.
"What are you?" Luna asked confused, but with a hint of excitement clear in her tone.
"My name is Kyle Samson, i'm a human, formerly that is. Just enhanced. I had everything internal meaning my organs, bone marrow, inner and outer skin transplanted onto a metal endoskeleton without my permission legally. Back home I'm declared dead." He finished sadly, looking down as he felt tears burn in his eyes. His fists clenching tightly as anger, sadness and guilt flooded him.
"How did you die?" Luna asked confused, Celestia glaring at her for asking him that.
"Luna!" Celestia scolded as she reprimanded her sister.
"Your highnesses, it's fine. I was attacked. I tried saving my friends but died in the process. I survived because some sick-minded scientists decided to illegally use my body for science." Kyle stated, his mechanical lenses zooming in to get a better look at her face, before zooming out and downloading the pictures straight to his brain.
"I'm so sorry for what they did to you, nopony deserves a fate like that no matter what they did." Celestia softly apologised, she couldn't imagine what pain he and his family had been forced to go through.
"Thank you Princess, but I can't go home because there's no way to go back. Plus, my friends and family think I'm dead. Due to what those scientist who called themselves 'doctors' I now live longer, up to about 500 years or more. I have to make them still think I'm dead otherwise it would be all over the local news, and I don't want to draw attention to myself or my family." He stated softly, feeling heartbreak at the choice he made.
Celestia gave him a sad smile and got off of her throne, she walked down to him and attempted to hug him, only to be gently pushed away as his body made him jump back, his protective reflexes activating.
He mentally turned off his reflexes and walked forwards towards them, a blush on his cheeks as he rubbed the back of his head in shame and guilt.
"Sorry about that, instincts and reflexes you know." Kyle sheepishly stated, looking away bashfully.
Celestia and Luna chuckled softly, smiling down at the human-mech hybrid.
"It's fine, I'd like for you to live down in ponyville near my faithfull student Twilight Sparkle, I'll help get you set up and help you find a job. After all, it's the least we can do for you after what you've been forced to go through." Celestia offered kindly.
"Thank you very much your highness, but are you sure? I don't want to cause a panic for your people and scare the kids and whatnot." Kyle stated worriedly. Thinking about the what if's and what could happen. Hundreds of scenarios running through his mind.
Celestia chuckled, Luna joining in.
"Do not worry Kyle, you will not cause a panic. I'll come down with you so that everypony understands you're new here, and it's your new home now." Celestia informed him, smiling softly
"Thank you, your highness. You're such a sweet, gentle, kind and caring princess and pony." Kyle softly told the alabaster mare, earning a small blush from her.
"You're welcome, let us get going then." Celestia informed, the duo heading out of the throne room and towards the chariot waiting for them.
The two beings were flown down to Ponyville, the chariot coming to a halt with a screech.
Celestia exited the personal carriage first, Kyle following after nervously.
"Greetings, my loyal subjects. This is Kyle, a human who's going to be living here in Ponyville from now on." Celestia introduced with a hoof. He gave a short wave with a hand nervously.
The crowd of ponies looked him up and down, some in confusion and awe, others in disgust, which he guessed must have been nobles.
Celestia and Kyle walked through the small community village, earning more looks from more ponies. Looks of disgust and confusion from ponies who managed to get a good look at him.
The two stopped at a light brown two-story house, the home he would be living in from now on.
"I must get going now Kyle, but before I go, here's the key to your new home." Celestia handed him the object and began to walk back to the chariot. She turned around and gave him a soft smile, climbing into the vehicle as she was taken back to the castle.
He flashed her a small smile as she left and put the key in the lock, allowing himself access to the inside of the building.
As he walked in he turned on the dim lights gently. The cozy building reminding him of home. He missed them, his old life. But he could never have it back, all because of the mysterious person who shot him and took his life, his family and friends along with his dreams and goals. All of that stripped from him in mere seconds.
He quietly walked upstairs into his new room and decided to sleep the whole day, as he didn't want to do anything more right now.
[SYSTEMS DEACTIVATING! SHUTTING DOWN! CONSERVING POWER!]
His vision faded to darkness as he let sleep overtake him. A small smile on his lips.
