Chapters Chapter 1.1: Fluttershy's Walk
It was a really nice Summer day in Canterlot City. The sky was free of clouds, the sun was shining bright, and nature was alive like never before.
Normally, on days like these, Fluttershy would spend a nice day in the city with her friends after they came to visit her. But this was no normal day, and Fluttershy wasn't even at home - precisely, not anymore.
She walked over the fields that were a few miles away from Canterlot City, enjoying the beautiful weather. Fluttershy loved the Summer time, since nature felt way more alive to her, and the sun shining bright felt like a nice hug from nature itself.
And for this special day, Fluttershy wore something different - she was wearing the light green dress that Rarity made for her a few months ago, during her Summer Fashion Vlog, along with her pink roman-style sandals. The dress was really pretty, but it certainly wasn't suited for Winter, and Fluttershy learned it the hard way.
But this was the Summer, a different time of the year, and much warmer than the Winter. In this time of the year, nature was alive, the sun was warm, the days were long... So many things spoke for this season, and Fluttershy enjoyed everything about it.
With happiness building up inside her, Fluttershy started to lightly run forward. She mostly never spends a day in the city or in the outskirts by herself alone, unless she has to do something in the city or work at the local animal shelter. But this was far from a normal day.
Fluttershy happily jumped over the fields, stretching her arms out while doing so and laughed in joy. She never felt so alive in her life before. But this beautiful Summer day just was way too good to not be happy about it. She even got hold of her new dress and spun around in circles, making the end fly up to the point where she got hold of the dress.
She was so happy...
Then, she continued her walk over the fields. Bushes and trees were nearby and gave the environment a nice touch. A warm breeze went over her bare shoulders, giving her another feeling of bliss. She closed her eyes and smiled. It certainly was a good idea to go outside today, not just because of the nice warmth of the Summer.
Fluttershy heard birds chirping. They were up in the air, obviously singing a beautiful lullaby. She happily continued on by skipping through the fields. Everything felt so perfect, the weather, the sky free of clouds, the nice Summer sun, and even the lively nature around her...
Suddenly, she stopped. She heard someone talk in a bit of a distance.
"Whoa... Who could that be?", she wondered, now knowing that she wasn't alone...
She listened closely to the voice. It sounded male. Fluttershy knew only few guys in the town, so she couldn't really put her hand down on who it was. She decided to go into the direction of the voice, wanting to know who exactly it was.
He talked too much to be Big Macintosh, and his voice wasn't deep enough for one of the Skull Crunchers...
When Fluttershy quietly snuck up and spotted the person, she realized - it was Rushing Wind. The guy who adores her the most out of her and her other friends. And he was talking to... Someone else. Judging by the voice, was that... Rainbow Dash?
Rushing Wind held a strange device in his hand. Fluttershy didn't know what it was, but as she looked closely, she saw a hologram of... a pony?
"What kind of a device does he have there?", Fluttershy asked herself.
Rushing Wind closed the device and sighed. Fluttershy wanted to say something, but hesitated. If his partner was in danger again, he wouldn't be so calm about things and he'd have to go back. But... he just sat there, on that rock, next to nice, green meadows clear enough to make a picnic there.
Fluttershy took the chance and spoke to him. "Oh, hi, Rushing Wind.", she said shyly.
Rushing Wind turned around and looked at Fluttershy. Suddenly, she could see that his eyes widened. "Sweet Celestia... You look... truly astounding!", he said in awe.
And Fluttershy also realized something different about Rushing Wind...

Chapter 1.2: Rushing Wind Arrives
A blue Senna with black vinyls and the starting number 01 raced over the speedy and winding country roads near Canterlot City. On the wheel, there was none other than the best race driver on this side of the planet, and that is Rushing Wind. The two-tone grey man with wild, black hair in the age of 23 bravely raced over the roads, dodging traffic, all without one scratch on his beloved vehicle.
At one point, he found a spot where he could park his vehicle, so he stopped on the lot, grabbed his backpack, got out of the car and locked it. Next, he took off his leather jacket and put it in his backpack. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a Forza Horizon 3 cover art on it, along with regular jeans, oilslick trainers and black gloves.
Now, he threw the backpack on his back and walked over the fields. The Summer sun was bright, and nature looked way more alive than in other seasons. The flowers looked nice, the environment was a nice green color, and the sky was free of clouds.
Rushing Wind took a deep breath. The nice, fresh air of the Summer was so refreshing, and it filled his spirit with happiness and relaxation. Normally, he would use every available second of the Summer to listen around for nearby race meetups, but he was through some tough days in Ponyville and needed a rest. And since the Summer recently arrived in Canterlot City, he intended to not only enjoy racing on the roads, but also enjoy the beautiful environment that came with this time of the year.
So many enjoyable things, Rushing Wind didn't know where to start...
After he walked for a few minutes, he sat down on a rock. Suddenly, a device in his backpack vibrated. It was a dimensional phone that Twilight made for him, allowing him to talk to Rainbow Dash, his beloved partner, at anytime, at any place, whether here or in the pony world.
Rushing Wind answered. He flipped the device open and saw a hologram of his partner in front of him. "Hey, Rainbow Dash. How are you doing?"
"Hiya, Rush. I'm doing good, thank you. The Wonderbolts and I are about to practice for a big show in two days.", Rainbow Dash said, "How are things going on your end?"
"Really sweet. It's Summer here, the perfect time to just cruise around or just take a walk over the fields. The weather is perfect, Summer sun, lively nature..."
"Sounds perfect to me. I wish I was with you too.", Rainbow said. Rushing Wind knew that she already saw that world, but only during dire times, after which they stopped Blueblood.
"Maybe next time. I hope practice goes well on your end. I'll try and find time to come watch you guys fly.", Rushing Wind said. Under no circumstances, Rushing Wind wanted to miss a performance of the Wonderbolts, one of the best flight teams in all over Equestria, and Rainbow Dash knew that.
"Rainbow Dash?", Spitfire called out in the background on Rainbow Dash's end, "We're starting now, get a move on!"
"Sorry, Rush. I gotta go. Duty calls, you know?", Rainbow Dash said.
"Alright. See ya."
Rushing Wind ended the call, closed the device and sighed. Ever since the two met each other, it was a special friendship bond at first sight. And ever since those two went through several terrible nightmares, Rushing Wind decided to stay in Equestria, and only go back to the other world at some times. Nowadays, Rushing Wind was known as a dimension traveler, and he liked it, since nopony else besides Princess Twilight and Sunset Shimmer would think about such a thing - and he knew the two way too well.
It even went so deep inbetween the two partners that Twilight formed a magic bond between them, in which, if the two stay close to each other, if one of them died, the other died. Like a magical life bond keeping the two of them alive... Rushing Wind never had it with spells, but that was one way to keep the friendship between the two alive until the day one of them passed away...
Suddenly, he heard a voice.
"Oh, hi, Rushing Wind...", it said shyly.
Rushing Wind turned around and saw Fluttershy behind him. When he saw what she wore, his eyes widened. "Sweet Celestia... You look... truly astounding!", he said in awe. He obviously realized that Fluttershy had new clothes on...

Chapter 2: Two Friends in Nature
Fluttershy and Rushing Wind looked each other deep in the eyes. The two of them both noticed that they wore something different to what they're used to see from each other.
Rushing Wind started: "This... this dress on you, it looks... so beautiful..."
"Oh, you noticed...", Fluttershy said, a blush forming on her face. "Do you like it?"
"Like it? I love it! It perfectly suits you, Fluttershy. Especially in a time of the year like this.", Rushing Wind said and got up. "What do you think of my outfit for the Summer?"
Fluttershy looked at Rushing Wind. The entire outfit suited the Summer, and Rushing Wind sure had a nice taste for good-looking Summer outfits.
Taking a chance, she said: "Your outfit looks nice as well... It's really cool..."
"Oh, you think? Thank you.", he said. Rushing Wind couldn't help but blush as well.
Fluttershy saw something in Rushing Wind's eyes. A feeling far from any enjoyment or happiness. It was even better, but she didn't know what exactly.
"Um, do you mind if I sit next to you?", Fluttershy asked.
"N-no, not at all. Come here.", Rushing Wind said and put down his backpack before he sat down on the grass.
Fluttershy undid the buckles of her sandals and took them off before she sat next to Rushing Wind. The warm grass touched her bare feet, and she liked the feeling.
"Honestly, you look way more beautiful than ever. Can you tell me where you got this... super-awesome looking dress from? I really think it looks very good on you.", Rushing Wind asked.
Fluttershy giggled. "Well, if you really want to know...", she started, and remembered the time when Rarity gave her the dress...
It all began a few months ago, when Rarity created another episode of her Summer Fashion Vlog for her Ponygram channel. It was getting close to Winter, and I was just coming by and saw Applejack in very light Summer clothes. They did suit her, but it was no Winter clothing, mind you. When I noticed that the geese were already heading towards the South, Rarity already had me and put me into this dress I'm wearing now. I mean it looked good on me, but it was way too cold for light clothes like that. And when even Rainbow Dash came along, Applejack and I wanted to have her move away, but Rarity snatched her as well and put her in Summer clothes too. And to make matters worse, with the arrival of Winter, we were all covered in snow... Took two days for me to get rid of the cold that came with it...
"After this, I never found time to wear this beautiful dress. Until today, and I also decided to go for a walk in the fields to enjoy the nature and the Summer sun... Who would've thought that I'd run into you out of all my friends?", Fluttershy said.
"Ha, truly an amazing coincidence - we both took a walk in the same field. And speaking of a few months ago, I think I remember that time...", Rushing Wind said, thinking about it...
I already knew that Winter was close to arrival, so I already made sure to wrap myself up warm with a parka, turtleneck, cargo jeans and boots. I also put a beanie on my head to keep my ears warm. Since I had so many cars, I decided to go with a car capable of handling the snow. I assume that you remember the car, a blue Subaru Impreza, vintage 2004?
"Now that you mention it, I do remember...", Fluttershy said, "And weren't you the one who picked me up and brought me home?"
"Exactly.", Rushing Wind said and continued with the story.
I was heading for Canterlot City when I already saw the snow falling down, and the entire environment was covered in snow. The roads, the fields, everything. Lucky for me, the Winter tires I had on my car prevented it from slipping away, and the all-wheel drive also helped. Then, I was driving through the streets of Canterlot City, and I saw you in that light dress, shivering from the cold of the Winter. I instantly reacted, parked my car next to you with a 180 spin, and offered you a ride to your warm home...
"Back then, I didn't notice that dress on you, and you already had a cold. I was only thinking about getting you home as fast as you could.", Rushing Wind said.
"I don't blame you for it. You just did what any good friend would've done for me...", Fluttershy said.
The two looked into each other's eyes again. There was this feeling again. Both Fluttershy and Rushing Wind couldn't help it, but there was a feeling that neither of them understood and neither of them knew what it was.
"By the way, I saw you had a strange device in your hand. What is that?", Fluttershy asked.
Rushing Wind opened his backpack and took out the dimensional phone. "Oh, you mean this? It's a machine from the other world. Princess Twilight made it for me. With this nice thing, I'm able to talk to my partner in the pony world, Rainbow Dash, at any time, at any place, whether in this or in the other world.", he explained.
"Oh, Princess Twilight made it for you? I remember her. She came to Canterlot High as a freshman, and saved us all from a magical incident... Twice.", Fluttershy said. She remembered the time when she first met Princess Twilight at the CHS. She and her friends helped her to reform Sunset Shimmer, and they destroyed the Sirens together. After this, the real Twilight Sparkle from this world appeared, and Fluttershy and her friends got along with her too, but she was different from the other one.
"I know. She told me everything about it.", Rushing Wind said. Obviously, Princess Twilight told him everything about these events as well.
The two looked each other in their eyes again. Once more, there was this weird feeling in their hearts, there was no mistake about it. But what was the required spark to unleash it?

I already said that this is a fan-made sequel to 'Street Chic', so it's only right to include the backstory from Fluttershy's point of view, and what happened afterwards.
Things sure get interesting between the two. To be concluded in Chapter 3.
For a few minutes now, Fluttershy and Rushing Wind were enjoying the peace and the beauty of nature. Being out of the city for once, it's so refreshing.
Right now, the two were laying on their stomach in the grass. Fluttershy looked at her friend again, and saw something in him again. He looked unsure.
"Everything okay, Rush?", she asked.
Rushing Wind snapped out of his thoughts. "Oh, uh, y-yeah, I'm fine, thanks.", he responded.
"Mmm, if you say so...", Fluttershy said.
Rushing Wind on the other hand was very nervous. He found a very beautiful girl, and he just didn't want to screw up. After all, he adored Fluttershy the most out of the Mane 6 in this world. But there was this weird feeling in his heart again... And how in Celestia's name is he going to tell her this?
"You know, Flutty...", he started, but stopped when he saw Fluttershy blush because he nicknamed her 'Flutty'. Rushing Wind became more nervous. "Oh, I-I-I'm sorry if-"
"Aw, don't be, Rush. I'm fine with it. After all, no one nicknamed me like that before.", Fluttershy said in a calm voice, "Now, what were you going to say?"
Relieved that he didn't screw this up, Rushing Wind tried again: "You know, Flutty, I love the way you think, and I also like how much you're into nature. I rarely get to see fields and forests myself unless I decide to just drive off the road and go cross-country... Honestly, I envy you, and next time we go to a forest, how about taking me with you? You could tell me everything about nature and such in the forests..."
"Oh, thank you for saying that.", Fluttershy said, slightly excited, "And yes, if you want, I can take you to the Everfree Forest next time. Maybe I can even tell you about one horrifying event that I experienced on one trip..." Fluttershy shuddered at the thought, but Rushing Wind calmed her down.
"Hey, it's okay.", Rushing Wind said, "We're among friends, right?"
Fluttershy giggled, knowing that this was true again. Then, she sighed and looked out into nature again.
"Dammit!", Rushing Wind thought. Just why couldn't he bring those words out of his mouth? It was so easy, just THREE words, and that's it! But being so nervous, he just couldn't get these words out that he wanted to say. It was these exact feelings he had for Fluttershy, but he just couldn't get to say it.
Rushing Wind looked back and saw Fluttershy's bare feet. "Welp, time for a different approach...", he thought. He crawled back slowly while Fluttershy wasn't looking, got to his knees, and started to tickle her feet.
"Tickle, tickle, tickle! ", he sang playfully as he tickled Fluttershy's feet.
A defenseless Fluttershy could only laugh very hard, and very loud. "Hahahahahahaha! H-h-hey! S-stop!", she brought out in her heavy laughter.
Rushing Wind stopped for a second. "Aw, but your laugh is so cute!", he said before he continued to tickle the feet of the defenseless pink-haired girl.
Fluttershy kept on laughing because Rushing Wind didn't stop tickling her feet. She only managed to bring out: "Hahahahahahaha! N-no! Stop! Plea-hihihihi-ease!"
Rushing Wind stopped. "Alright, but just because you said please.", he said as he layed down next to Fluttershy again. She was still laughing a bit from the sudden tickling attack, but soon calmed down and looked into nature again.
Rushing Wind knew, while this approach did make her laugh, it still wasn't what he wanted. And the weird feeling in his heart only got stronger and stronger the more he held the words back.
"Screw it. It's do or die...", he thought.
Still very nervous, he decided to say something: "Um, Fluttershy?"
Fluttershy turned her head to Rushing Wind. "Yes, Rush?", she asked in a soft tone.
Rushing Wind knew, now was the chance to attack, the chance to take the win. Like a race he was so close to winning, but there still was this one feeling that held him back from passing an imaginary adversary...
Finally, he said: "Fluttershy, do... do you love me?"
The two looked each other in the eyes deeply. Unsure about how Fluttershy would react on this question, Rushing Wind's nervousness reached stratospheric levels the longer he waited for a response.
Fluttershy put one of his arms on Rushing Wind and came closer. "H-hey, I mean, it's okay if-"
But before Rushing Wind could continue to say something, Fluttershy kissed him on the right cheek. Rushing Wind's eyes widened, and he gasped in awe. He felt his heart literally flutter . So close... He was so close to passing that imaginary adversary. It only took a little more...
"Is... is that a... yes?", Rushing Wind asked.
"Of course, Rush. I do love you. The moment we met, where you saved me, I saw a nice person in you. A person worth loving. I mean, I've seen many boys in my life, but I wasn't interested in any of them, even if they were interested in me. But you, Rush... You are different. You have a backstory that no one else had, something that other people could only dream of in their bravest nightmares... All of that and much more is... what made me love you to begin with... I just... I just couldn't find the right words or the right time to tell you this..."
Rushing Wind's heart fluttered even more. So Fluttershy also hesitated to tell him the truth, even longer than he did. She also had romantic feelings for him, but just couldn't find the right words or the right time to tell him. At times, Rushing Wind did notice in her eyes that something was up, but he didn't bother asking. Rushing Wind felt that it still wasn't enough, though, so he took another chance.
"Aw, Fluttershy... I already knew you hesitated sometimes, but knowing that you're this shy type... Only makes me love you more. I mean, you're the most beautiful girl I know, and you have such a kind personality. I mean, you do need an extra boost to try something new, but... that's what friends are for, right?"
"Yes, Rush. You're right.", Fluttershy said softly. Her heart also seemed to explode out of joy and love. "And... Do you... love me?", she asked shyly.
"Yes, Fluttershy. I love you too.", Rushing Wind said. He also kissed Fluttershy on the cheek, and then, the two hugged each other.
Finally, the two friends knew what that weird feeling in their heart was, the one they always kept locked, that now broke free. It was nothing negative or something to be ashamed of. No, it was a much more powerful feeling than that.
It was love. The power of two friends coming together. And on this fateful day, the two friends admitted their love to each other, the thing that neither of them found until now.
A few moments later, the two broke free from the hug and layed on the grass with their backs, looking up into the sky.
"You know, Fluttershy...", Rushing Wind began, "Aside from the day where I moved to Equestria, I was never so happy in my entire life. I don't know how you see it, but..."
"Aw, I'm really happy right now too... This was probably the best day of my life as well.", Fluttershy said, and both of them shared a laugh.
Rushing Wind's thoughts went to the imaginary race. He just passed the finish line and won the race... the race for love, is what that was.
"Now, how about I take you home, Flutty?", Rushing Wind asked.
"Sure, Rush.", Fluttershy said.
Rushing Wind grabbed his backpack, Fluttershy grabbed her sandals, and both of them walked over the fields, heading for Rushing Wind's car. One thing was certain - neither of them will forget this day that brought them together. Not in one century even...
This was a day that will be engraved in their minds... forever.
