Spike saw it all, his big sister figure was taken down the Mane 5 put up a big fight but with the Storm King having the power of four alicorns there was no hope, they all retreated, the Storm King let them go as they were no longer a threat. Spike looked back at the castle with tears but then he gritted his teeth, and his eyes became red, he had a new goal, it was revenge. A resistance was formed in the Crystal Empire which was led by Shining Armor. The Mane 5 were busy mourning their friend in the castle room when suddenly Spike opened the door. “Why are you just sitting around doing nothing, there is a war about to begin.” Spike screamed angrily. “Spike we just lost Twilight cut us some slack.” Rainbow Dash argued annoyed with the small dragon. “I will not let it go, I lost Twilight too but I’m not being a sad sack now am I, now get ready for an attack.” Spike commanded with venom. Starlight walked through the Crystal Empire sighing, she was the Commander of the resistance at Spike’s command of course. Capper and the pirates used their strength to fend off the Storm Guards. The pillars used ancient magic on the Storm Guards. Discord used a lovely brand of chaos magic and was able to take down most of the Storm Guards. Even with these combined efforts more kept coming and it seemed like a never ending battle between good and evil. The Mane 5, Starlight, and Spike all went to the castle in secret until they were spotted by the Storm King. “Well well well if it isn’t the most recent fools. I’ve gotta admit I didn’t think you’d come back but since you did I would like to introduce you to my piles of rubble.” Storm King introduces pointing his staff at the broken crystallized princesses shocking the ponies and dragon “I have no choice but to end them and now I will end you.” Storm King said pointing his staff at the group before two figures showed up. One lavender unicorn and a hedgehog. Tempest then blasted the Storm King with her broken horn while Grubber punched the Storm King in the face. The Storm King got up from that and kept trying to blast the dynamic duo but they kept running. Spike and Starlight of course used their magic to blast the Storm King, and the Mane 5 joined the fight, the Storm King put up a good fight but then decided to use his most powerful weapon the Obsedian Orb and threw it at the Mane 5 and Starlight before Spike blasted it to pieces before it could hit them. “Leave my friends alone.” Spike said with defiance. “Oh persistent are we fine you get frozen first.” The Storm King said throwing the orb at Spike but Spike shoves the Storm King as the orb hit him freezing him and The Storm King as they fell off the balcony. “I’m sorry.” Spike apologized before he and the Storm King fully froze both hitting the ground both statues were broken. Starlight, the Mane 5, Tempest, and Grubber were shocked with what they saw. “Is he- did he?” Fluttershy asked in tears. “Yes unfortunately the stone breaking killed your dragon friend Spike I am so sorry.” Tempest apologized mournfully. Equestria may have won but at the cost of five lives, Twilight, Celestia, Luna, Cadence and now Spike. Spike: I noticed I made him very unlikable that was not my intention but his attitude change was meant to be seen as justifiable I guess I screwed up on that and made him a tyrant. Sorry. I knew I was gonna kill him off since he could not rule Equestria and I thought it would be a meaningful sacrifice. Twilight: Yeah she had to go out it’s the reason why this story was made. General SpikeSpike looked down at the prisoners before him, he was able to capture some Storm Guards thanks to his mighty crew he laughed to himself it was rather easy to do. Spike then walked in. “Ah Sunburst, slow as ever I see.” Spike angrily stated. “Spike give me a break I’m researching the best I can.” Sunburst said stressfully. “Well do it faster, the faster the research is done the faster the Storm King suffers in my palm.” Spike proclaimed with a smirk. “Spike aren’t you taking your rage too far?” Trixie asked annoyed walking into the room making Spike glare at the magician. "Excuse you, I don't think I am, The Storm King took Twilight and burnt her alive and now it's my turn to take everything from him and oh it will feel so good as I watch him beg for mercy." Spike said with sadistic glee. "Isn't that-" Sunburst asked hastily before Spike cut him off. "Sadistic, why yes it is but he deserves it he will pay." Spike said walking off. "Wait Spike, I found something Grogar's bell, it can absorb magic and give magic to the user." Sunburst said excitedly. "Ha ha at last vengance will be mine, mwahahhahahahahahhahahahahha." Spike laughed maniacally. "And peace will be restored to Equestria." Trixie adds stoically. "Yes that too now if you'll excuse me I gotta take care of something." Spike said. Spike went to his bedroom and got out a picture of Twilight. "Don't worry Twilight I'll get to the bottom of this, I promise." Spike said tearfully. Spike then walked the halls and began to sing "I will make you proud Get the answers and set Equestria free Don't you worry, whatever it might take, I'm finding a way" Spike sang walking through the halls. "And I swear right now That no matter what comes of me" Spike sang angrily as he looked at the Mane 5. "Anybody who stands or has stood in my path, they are going to pay They... will... pay" Spike sang angrily before walking off. The BattleSpike and his troops headed to Canterlot. The Young Six, Gallus, Silverstream, Smolder, Ocellus, Sandbar and Yona had all befriended each other in this tough time and defended each other and used the powers of teamwork to persevere through the the fight. Capper and the pirates used their strength to fend off the Storm Guards. The pillars used ancient magic on the Storm Guards. Discord used a lovely brand of chaos magic and was able to take down most of the Storm Guards. Even with these combined efforts more kept coming and it seemed like a never ending battle between good and evil. The Mane 5, Starlight, and Spike all went to the castle in secret until they were spotted by the Storm King. “Well well well if it isn’t the most recent fools. I’ve gotta admit I didn’t think you’d come back but since you did I would like to introduce you to my piles of rubble.” Storm King introduces pointing his staff at the broken crystallized princesses shocking the ponies and dragon “I have no choice but to end them and now I will end you.” Storm King said pointing his staff at the group before two figures showed up. One lavender unicorn and a hedgehog. Tempest then blasted the Storm King with her broken horn while Grubber punched the Storm King in the face. The Storm King got up from that and kept trying to blast the dynamic duo but they kept running. Spike and Starlight of course used their magic to blast the Storm King, and the Mane 5 joined the fight, the Storm King put up a good fight but then decided to use his most powerful weapon the Obsedian Orb and threw it at the Mane 5 and Starlight before Spike blasted it to pieces before it could hit them. “Leave my friends alone.” Spike said with defiance. “Oh persistent are we fine you get frozen first.” The Storm King said throwing the orb at Spike but Spike shoves the Storm King as the orb hit him freezing him and The Storm King as they fell off the balcony. “I’m sorry.” Spike apologized before he and the Storm King fully froze both hitting the ground both statues were broken. Starlight, the Mane 5, Tempest, and Grubber were shocked with what they saw. “Is he- did he?” Fluttershy asked in tears. “Yes unfortunately the stone breaking killed your dragon friend Spike I am so sorry.” Tempest apologized mournfully. Equestria may have won but at the cost of five lives, Twilight, Celestia, Luna, Cadence and now Spike.
The AcensionStarlight, Tempest, The Mane 5, and Grubber had all been called to a meeting by Shining Armor. “Sigh we all know Equestria will never be the same again.” Shining Armor sighed out. “That much is certain.” Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. “The princesses are gone and our heir to the throne Spike was also taken out as well. We need someone to rule Equestria, and I can’t rule Equestria since I have The Crystal Empire and Flurry Heart to protect.” Shining Armor states with remorse. “Fortunately even with Spike’s tyranny he at least made one good decision, it is important you read this note.” Shining Armor said to Starlight and the Mane 5. Dear Starlight, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie I have written this to you before the battle in case I don’t make it, it has come to my attention I have been to strict I apologize for that. I was merely trying to have you take this seriously after how the quest 7 months ago went, I’ve been angry with you but I never stopped caring about you I realize that now. You all are the best friends I can ask for. I knew if it would come down to me or you at the battle I was always going to sacrifice myself for you guys. Now if I don’t make it I have one request as possible new ruler, I am giving Starlight leadership of all Equestria with the help of Twilight’s friends Equestria will be in safe hands with you guys I know it. From Spike Starlight was shocked she was now the new ruler of Equestria. “I-I” Starlight began before Shining Armor cut her off. “Starlight you have proven to be a worthy mare of this honor you have saved Equestria three times and have proven to be truly redeemed you must take Spike’s place as the new ruler.” Shining Armor stated. “I’m just so nervous but I will do it for Twilight and Spike.” Starlight said nervously. “Excellent we’ll give you time to prepare for this, your coronation is in a few weeks.” Shining Armor said in some happiness. Starlight didn’t know what would come next but she new that Equestria was in her hooves now. And she would not let them down.
The CoronationTrixie and Rarity began fitting Starlight in her dress, it was Coronation Day and the citizens of Equestria were waiting for her. “Oh darling I’m happy for you and all but I just miss Twilight.” Rarity said in tears. “I don’t plan on replacing the princesses they were special to Equestria.” Starlight admitted solemnly. “Well I for one am glad that they chose Starlight to rule in their place she totally deserves it.” Trixie said trying to lighten the mood. “Trixie, they had to die for Starlight to rule Equestria!” Rarity lectures angrily. “Break it up, I realize this might take some getting used to, but I hope to bring Equestria back to it’s feet.” Starlight said bringing the two apart. Starlight then made it to the podium where the citizens waited for her to speak. “Creatures of Equestria, today must be a difficult day for you all. I know that due to recent events you might not be so happy to see me as your new ruler, and I understand why we lost all four of our princesses and Spike the Brave and Glorious.” Starlight announced solemnly. Thorax began bawling at the mention of Spike while Ember comforted him as he sobbed. “I know I can never replace Celestia and I don’t plan to, but I promise I will try to rebuild Equestria again.” Starlight motivated making the crowd become a little more joyful. Starlight was happy she was able to get the crowd happy again, she knew that things might be okay after all. Author's Note This is getting a sequel don’t worry. So time for me to talk about some stuff in the story. Spike: I noticed I made him very unlikable that was not my intention but his attitude change was meant to be seen as justifiable I guess I screwed up on that and made him a tyrant. Sorry. I knew I was gonna kill him off since he could not rule Equestria and I thought it would be a meaningful sacrifice. Twilight: Yeah she had to go out it’s the reason why this story was made. The Mane 5: They had minor roles but were still needed to earn forgiveness from Spike and learn to take things seriously. Starlight: She was always gonna rule Equestria in the end I thought about letting Celestia, Luna, and Cadence live but then I realized I wanted Equestria to have a big change and having Equestria be ruled by Starlight was the perfect change.
General SpikeSpike looked down at the prisoners before him, he was able to capture some Storm Guards thanks to his mighty crew he laughed to himself it was rather easy to do. He made sure to torment the fools for answers but they would not answer him what so ever so he went back to the throne room. “Gah how do I break those foolish slabs of meat, answer me.” Spike commanded annoyed at the Crystal guards’ silence. “Uh Spike The Brave and Glorious why haven’t we executed them they won’t give us answers.” One of the guards asked scared and curious. “Because I’m a compassionate general executing those vermin will just put blood on my hands and I can’t have that so I am just going to torment them until they answer me.” Spike explained with a smirk on his face. “I believe he’s gone mad with power.” Another guard whispered. “What did you say?!” Spike yelled angrily while the guards began whimpering. “Nothing oh glorious Spike.” The guard stuttered. “Good.” Spike said angrily. Meanwhile Starlight went back to the Mane 5 who she saw were very upset. Rarity’s mane was all messed up and disheveled she cried a lot missing the kind sweet Spike and believed she was the reason Spike became this way. Rainbow Dash was annoyed and she barely spoke anymore she got into a lot of arguments with Spike with him winning every time so she gave up on talking back. Fluttershy was in the same state as Rarity only worse. Pinkie Pie’s mane had deflated she was no longer the happy party pony she used to be she was now a sad, sloppy mess. Applejack was the only pony who had their emotions intact which was good because they need all the help they can get. “Well how’d it go sugarcube?” Applejack asked mournfully. “He refuses to be kinder, sigh I miss the old Spike I miss Twilight.” Starlight announces. “We all do but being emotional about it will solve nothin and you know it.” Applejack comforted. “I know, but we need Spike to be emotionally stable or he might snap to the point of no return.” Starlight said sadly. The Mane 5 and Starlight were stricken in fear for what would happen if Spike was pushed too far.
A Lost FillyStarlight and Discord put up a good fight and the troops also fought hard, with Discord around they were able to take down the Storm Guards, but then Starlight heard whimpering. Starlight then saw it a filly with a pink coat and wings, blue curled up hair and a chess piece for a Cutie Mark. “Don’t worry I’m here you’ll be safe.” Starlight comforted softly. The filly then spread her tiny wings and flew up to Starlight. “What’s your name little one?” Starlight asked with concern. “Cozy Glow” the filly known as Cozy Glow answered scared. “Well Cozy Glow the Storm Guards are gone so you can go see your parents again.” Starlight clarifies. “I can’t I have no parents.” Cozy Glow admits with tears. “I’m so sorry, here I’ll bring you to the Crystal Empire, we’ll keep you safe there.” Starlight said putting the filly on her back. Spike then paced around angrily as Starlight was being questioned in the throne room. “You brought a filly here!” Spike yelled annoyed. “She was lost and alone.” Starlight argued angrily. “Well great I guess we have no choice then, ugh another mouth to feed well it’s worth it, she does need somewhere to stay.“ Spike said in remorse. “Wait you agree with me?” Starlight asked hopefully. “Yes I did, I’m more strict not heartless, now go.” Spike commanded angrily. Starlight left with some glee there is a chance Spike would return to his old self one day. Author's Note Don’t worry Cozy Glow’s the good guy here. Also I fixed Spike’s character here I went too far last time. I’m trying to make him likable so this a better path then last time I wrote this.
Mount EverhoofSpike, the Mane 5, Starlight, Trixie, Sunburst, and Discord all made it to Mount Everhoof where Grogar’s bell was. “Ah I see a lot of obstacles, Discord just go get the bell and bring it back the sooner the better.” Spike commanded eagerly. Discord nodded and left to retrieve the bell as the Mane 5 discussed with Spike. “Spike we just wanna say we’re so-“ Rarity began before Spike cut her off. “Sorry. Well that’s not good enough for me, you all left Twilight alone just ready to be kidnapped and because of that foolishness she is now gone.” Spike argued sadly. Fluttershy began tearing up she knew it was true, Twilight was gone and it was all their fault. “Spike please we’re sorry we know it’s our fault and we feel really bad about it.” Fluttershy cried out. Spike began to feel sympathy and was about to speak before Rainbow Dash cut him off. “You jerk you made Fluttershy cry.” Rainbow Dash angrily spat. “Excuse you, I almost felt like forgiving you, ALMOST! But now the five of you ex friends of mine are sentenced to do 100 push ups. You can all thank Rainbow Dash for this.” Spike sentenced. “Thanks Rainbow.” Applejack said annoyed at the cyan pegasus. “What will it take for you to forgive us Spike?” Pinkie Pie asked tearfully. “It’s gonna have to be a really big make up.” Spike stated mournfully. The Mane 5 did their push ups as Starlight watched with sympathy and Discord showed up with the bell. “Yes the bell, Discord give me the magic.” Spike said happily. “Are you sure?” Discord asked frightened. “Yes now give me the magic.” Spike said spreading his arms. Discord closed his eyes and gave Spike Grogar’s magic he began screaming in pain before gaining wings and magic hands. “It’s a miracle I feel so powerful, let’s get ready to battle, YES!” Spike cried out with glee.
