Dearest Celestia,

It has been quite some time hasn't it? I hope that I may still call you friend after what transpired on that night so long ago. I also hope that you have kept yourself well and not held my refusal against me. I know that what you had asked me came from your heart, and I had been rather harsh in my speech. I am sorry that I had allowed it to drive us apart, and I understand why you haven't sent me any word since. But I hope that you are still willing to repay me that favor you owe me.

Recently, a very valuable relic has been stolen from my family. This particular relic happens to be the symbol that the different houses of Avalon rally under. It is the Sunstone you gifted me long ago. I had used it to fortify a spell I had cast upon the island to keep her safe from all who wished to conquer her, and to provide a barrier to the dreaded Wilderlands. It has become the very embodiment of Avalon's strength, of her unity and her perseverance. And without it, I fear that the Safeguard will soon fade, leaving the abominations that prowl the Wilderlands an open door into the countryside. I am taking a risk leaving my son as regent as it is, but I must be the one to retrieve the blade as it was my responsibility to keep. I know not of who stole the blade, of who holds it now, or for what purpose it was taken, but I do know it is not within my domain or I would still sense it.

So what I ask of you is this. I will arrive in the glade where we had first met on the eve of the harvest moon, and remain there for a week. I shall be accompanied by host of able soldiers and my daughter Arianne. I will accept any aid you see fit to grant me, and I shall repay and debts I owe you. I ask you to do this not for me, but for my people. You of all beings should understand the duty I have to my country, as you hold the same to yours. If I do not see nor hear from you within that week, I shall take that as a sign that you no longer count me as a friend, and frankly I would not blame you if that were the case. Either way I still hope to speak with you soon.

Sincerely,

Penndragon

Author's Note

Hey guys, I hope that this is written well enough! I've had this idea kicking around my head for a while now and felt like putting pen to paper, as it were. I used names from the King Arthur myths because I felt that it would mesh well with the fantasy setting the show has already. I will not be drawing any more from the myths though, as I don't want to be stuck doing research on top of college. That being said, I can't promise that I will update this regularly, but I do promise each chapter will be at a minimum 5,000 words. Excluding this. I can't wait to see where this story ends up going!
