Chapter 1 Morphing bonds part 1
The school of Friendship the latest Jewel of Ponyville; a school that taught the values of friendship. Helping to create and pave roads to the future for the generations to come. The school had many promising students; but, none as promising as a certain group of six. Out in the courtyard of the school said group was sitting and talking with each other. The group consisted of six different creatures; Ocellus, the changeling, Yona, the yak, Sandbar, the earth pony, Gallus, the gryphon, Silverstream, the hypogriff, and Smolder, the dragoness. All of them laughed for one of them had said something funny.
Gallus commented, “No, lie,” He shook his head a little causing his feathers to fluff a little as some confetti flew out of them, “I swear I'm still finding this stuff in places I didn't even know it could go.” He shook himself a little ore for good measure; trying to make sure all of it was out.
All of the laughed a little more each of them had the same problem with their teacher Pinkie Pie. Any time she would use that cannon of hers or hide some confetti shooters in their text books. They would always end up covered in the stuff. The group continued to talk amongst themselves; they talked about their classes, their lives at home and what they had planned for the future. All of sudden Ocellus gasped in fear and transformed into a rock. Causing the others to look at her.
Sandbar asked, “Whoa, everything okay, Ocellus?
Ocellus transformed back into her original and nodded before answering, “Yeah,” She shook herself a little before she commented, “I'm not sure why that happened?”
Silverstream asked, “What do you mean?”
She answered, “That was an involuntary change. Normally that mean's danger is close,” The others started to look around; but, she quickly calmed them down, “Hold on, hold on! I don't think it's danger; I'm not sure why that happened.”
Yona asked, “So, no danger?” When Ocellus nodded she sighed in relief before commented, “Although, no danger is better than danger. We could use a little excitement here; it's been too quiet.”
Smolder nodded in agreement and spoke, “I'm with you there sister,” They shared a small laugh before she looked to Ocellus and asked, “Are you sure everything was okay?”
Ocellus nodded and smiled reassuringly; hoping this would help both her and her friends calm down. Unknown to all of them beneath the school the roots of the tree pulsed with magical energy. Its pulsing grew more rapid and intense as time passed. The spirit of the tree was shown as nothing more than a ball of light. It's light shining almost as bright as the sun; something was wrong and the world and whatever it was. It was powerful, strong, and pure evil.
The spirit asked, “What is this?” It hoped to find an answer as it focused it's energy on the cause of this sudden flux of power.
It focused on the cause of the energy; it could feel it. All of it. Something malicious was entering their world and there was nothing it could do to stop it. It tried to fight it back; only to have a massive surge of energy shoot back towards it. Almost as if something had just shoved it out of the way. When the energy reached it's peak the spirit glowed its brightest and began to scream out in pain. And, then it stopped, the energy, the pain, everything had stopped all except the presence.
The spirit asked itself, “What was that?”
It was then another voice answered, “That was Regna.”
The spirit called out, “Who's there?! Show yourself!”
In it's real it was joined by another spirit; only this one was different from the presence that it had just recently felt. This spirit was different, it was powerful and ancient; it then began to take the form of a creature that it did not recognize. The creature was large and it wore what looked to be a scholars robes.
The spirit asked, “Who are you?”
The creature responded, “My name is Overseer,” it then explained, “I am the guardian spirit of the morphing grid.”
The spirit asked, “The morphing grid; what's that?”
Overseer answered, “It is the source of power for only a select group of few.”
It asked, “Who?”
Overseer answered, “The Power Rangers.”
It was silent for a moment until the Spirit asked, “Who are they and Who is Regna?”
Overseer responded, “Regna is a malevolent creature that feeds off a worlds life energy,” It then released a burst of energy and a new image appeared between them. The image was that of a creature that looked almost like a Chimera. The spirit could feel the power radiating from the image alone; it felt evil.
When the image faded it asked, “How do we stop it?”
Overseer answered, “In order to stop Regna and her forces you will need the Power Rangers.”
It spoke, “You mentioned them before; who are they?” It got it's answer when Overseer released another surge of power. What it saw was something incredible. Groups of people drawing on the power of the grid itself and fighting off great evil. Saving lives of those who could not defend themselves. Each and every one of them becoming the champions known as the power rangers. When the energy stopped the spirit felt Overseer weaken; it asked, “Are you alright?”
Overseer answered, “No,” It explained, “my power is fading.”
The spirit asked, “Hold on, I can help you.” It prepared itself to share it's power but it was blocked by Overseer, “What are you doing?”
Overseer, “I'm afraid my time has come and gone,” It then began to send its power over, “With my end I now give you the power of the grid,” The spirit could feel the power coursing through, “Good luck, and for those you choose to have them share the power. May the power protect them.”
Overseer then faded as the last of its power was transferred in its place six smaller lights remained, it looked into the lights and saw six humans inside of them. Each of them locked inside a peaceful slumber. It felt empathy for all of them; for they had lost their world to Regna. Because they did not have the rangers. It began to feel the energies of all of them. They were all teenagers four of them male while two were female. They each had extraordinary abilities and skills; the only problem was they could not use the power of the grid on their own. When Overseer gave it the power it gained immediate knowledge of the power grid it now protected. In order to use the power they needed a partner to help clear it; unfortunately no one else on their planet held the abilities of the gird.
It spoke, “Don't worry; I will protect you all,” It then concentrated on the power, “I know exactly who can help you all. But, for now it's time for all of you to wake up.”
A groan echoed through the castle of the sisters; six humans are revealed lying on the floor. One of the males slowly sat up; rubbing his forehead as he was over come with a minor headache. He spoke, “What the?”
He then gasped in sudden realization he got to his feet and looked around. He saw his friends lying on the ground. He spoke, “Guys?” He walked forward to the closest one and shook him. He called out as he shook him, “Travis,” He shook him a little more before he spoke, “Travis, dude come on wake up.” He heard his friend release a groan signaling to him that he was alive and okay.
Travis spoke as he sat up, “Ugh, Will?” He also had an incredible headache as his senses slowly came back to him, “Will, what happened?” He looked around, “Where are we?”
Will looked around noticing they were inside a huge castle, “I don't know,” He looked at the others and then continued, “Come on,” He helped Travis up to his feet, “Help me wake the others.”
Travis nodded and the two quickly got the others up on their feet. Eventually everyone was standing and looking around; trying to figure out where they were. All they knew was they were inside of some old castle somewhere. They saw various old paintings and tapestries. But, it was nothing that they could recognize.
One of them a female known as Chris spoke, “Guys,” They looked at her and she continued, “Did we,” She was a silent for a moment before she finished, “Did we lose?”
The silence brought on by the question was eerie; without a doubt they had lost the battle. The revelation hit them all like a ton of bricks. They lost the battle, Regna and her forces won, their world, their families, friends, everything was gone. They started to remember everything that happened; how they stormed the base. Hoping they could shut down her dark life force machine before it completed its mission. How they encountered the dark life's' the ones who Regna enslaved with her powers. How they battled so hard only to fail.
One of the other males named Jack shouted, “Damn it!” He punched the wall hard before he spoke, “I can't believe she beat us.” He shook his fist to try and numb the pain.
The other girl named Lake spoke, “We didn't have the full power of the grid,” The focused their attention on her; she then continued, “We had some of it that's what Overseer said. But, unless we get some partners. We're pretty much useless.”
The fourth male of the group named Jess commented, “That's putting it rather bluntly, Lake.”
She looked at him and replied, “It's the facts, Jess,” She saw him glaring at her; she knew he was angry but it was true. So she continued, “If we had partners we could activate our ranger forms and we could have beat her,” She looked up before she sat down, “But, we didn't and we lost.....everything.”
Before Jess could comment Will stopped him, “Jess, what she says is true,” Jess looked at him with a questioning look he then continued, “Listen, Overseer said it himself. It was foolish to face her and we did it anyway; we were boneheaded and we lost. Now were paying the price.”
Travis then asked, “Hey guys?” They looked at him as he continued, “How about instead of arguing with each other and reminding ourselves of the obvious fact that we lost. We find out where the hell we are.” He then started walking towards a nearby hallway. The others followed close behind him.
They walked down the hallway and others like; feeling almost as if they were trapped in some kind of maze. They moved carefully through the halls; expecting possible traps to keep the place protected. They eventually reached an ascending flight of stairs. They followed them up and found themselves in the main foyer of the castle.
Travis whistled as he looked around and commented, “Something really blew the roof off this place.”
Lake added, “No kidding,” She then asked, “Wonder what happened here?”
As they looked around Will noticed something,”Hey, guys,” The looked at him and he pointed at something, “Look over there.”
They looked and saw something shinning in the distance; they looked at one another and then walked towards it. None of them could believe what they were seeing. It was some kind of tree-house castle made out of crystal. They each stared at it in complete awe; a sudden surge of energy pulse from the castle. Each of them felt it and quickly backed away. Just as the doors at the top of the stairs opened. Looking at each other and then nodding; each of them climbed the stairs and entered the castle. If they thought it was big on the outside; it was completely massive on the inside.
Will asked, “Hey, anyone else feeling something familiar?”
Before any of them can answer they heard a voice from the outside, “Guys, come one!”
Chris spoke, “Someone's coming!”
Lake added, “Hide!”
Each of them split up and hid in various locations; they watched the door waiting for whoever the voice belonged to enter the castle. When the doors opened none of them could believe what they saw. It was a group of six creatures that had entered the building. They identified four of the creatures; two of them they recognized as a yak and a horse. The other two they couldn't believe they were seeing. For, Dragons and Gryphons were myths on their world. The remaining two none of them recognized. They watched as the horse walked up to the center of the tree.
They heard it ask “Harmony, you called us?”
Each of them wondered who it was talking too; they got their answer in the form of a bright light. Which slowly manifested itself into the form of a purple unicorn. They heard it respond, “Yes, I did Sandbar.”
Lake wondered, “Sandbar?”
The dragon asked “Is there something wrong?”
Harmony nodded and answered, “I'm afraid a great evil has entered this world.”
Travis asked, “Great evil?”
The Yak spoke, “Yona, not afraid. Tell us where this evil is right now and I'll smash it!”
Chris giggled a little and commented, “I like that one.”
Jack spoke in a hushed tone, “Keep it down!”
Harmony answered, “I'm afraid this evil is to great for all of you to face on your own.”
Silverstream asked, “What do you mean?”
Rather than telling them Harmony used its magic to create an image before them. The creature that appeared before them looked almost like a Chimera. The wondered who this was and why did it make Harmony worry. The human on the other hand immediately recognized the creature as Regna. The being that had just defeated them and destroyed their world.
Ocellus asked, “Who is that?”
Harmony answered, “Regna, a creature that drains the life force of a planet,” Before any of them could ask it explained further, “Recently, I felt a sudden surge in magical power. It made me feel both afraid and worried for all living creatures here. I tried to fight back but it forced its way in; afterwords I was approached by another spiritual being.”
Smolder asked, “Who?”
Harmony answered, “Overseer.”
The moment Chris heard the name of their mentor; she walked out of hiding and nearly shouted, “Overseer! You talked with Overseer!?”
Her sudden appearance caused the creatures to scream out in surprise. Before the others could pull her back into hiding; the fight was on. The dragon had tackled her to the ground; as the two grappled with each other. Lake tried to pull the dragon off her friend. But, she was grabbed and lifted into the air by the gryphon. Who threw her right into Will.
Harmony shouted as it released a magical pulse, “Stop.” It's magic froze all of them in place; the only parts that were moving were their eyes. It levitated all twelve of them in front of it. It gently sat them all down on the floor before releasing them from its magical hold. They looked at one another with slight worry. It then spoke, “I know that this is shocking for all of you right now. But, please believe me when I say; that none of you should be afraid right now.” It was silent for a moment the humans looking at the creatures and they looking back at them.
Harmony looked at Chris and asked, “You're name is Chris right?”
Chris nodded and asked, “How do you know my name?”
Harmony answered, “Overseer told me. He told me about all of you.”
Travis quickly asked, “Overseer, is he here? Where is he?”
Harmony frowned and answered, “I'm afraid that your friend is gone,” Each of them had a look of sadness appear on their face. It could feel their sadness; with a caring smile it released a small pulse of magic. Making them each feel the emotions that Overseer felt in his final moment. It made each of them smile happily for he was happy that they were all safe.
Will thanked it, “Thanks.”
Harmony responded, “You're all welcome.” it then turned towards the other and spoke, “I'm sure all of you have a lot of questions?” Each of them nodded and it answered, “The group you see before you are from another world; they are called humans.”
Smolder wondered, “Humans?” She then asked, “You mean like the ones Twilight mentioned?”
Harmony answered, “Yes, but these humans are different.”
Gallus asked, “How so?”
It answered, “The group you see before you are similar to all of you. Each of them have been chosen to be great hero's. Just like all of you.”
Sandbar asked, “You mean their connected to the elements of harmony?”
Before Harmony could answer Will spoke, “No,” The looked at him and he continued, “We're the Power Rangers.”
Silverstream asked, “The what?”
Harmony answered, “They are the Power Rangers,” It looked at them and smiled happily, “I may not know each of you well. But, from what Overseer showed me through both his memories and his feelings. He was proud to give and call all of you that.” She watched as they each nodded some of them sniffling a little as the news about their mentor sunk in.
Ocellus noticed a tear falling from one of them; she slowly fluttered up to her and placed a caring hoof on its shoulder. When the human looked to see her she asked, “Are you okay?”
Lake answered, “Yeah,” She quickly wiped her face clean, “Yeah, yeah, I'm fine.”
Will commented, “You are a terrible liar you know that lake.”
Ocellus looked at her and asked, “Lake, your name is Lake?”
She nodded and asked, “What's yours?”
She answered, “I'm Ocellus.”
Will then introduced himself, “Hey, my name is Will.”
Sandbar introduced himself, “I'm Sandbar.”
Chris commented, “Neat name,” She then introduced herself, “I'm Chris.”
Smolder introduced herself next, “Hey, I'm Smolder.”
Jess spoke, “I'm Jess.”
Yona smiled and introduced herself, “My name's Yona.”
Travis spoke, “I'm Travis.”
Gallus had his suspicions of the humans but he did introduce himself, “I'm Gallus.”
Jack was the last human to introduce himself, “I'm Jack.”
And finally Silverstream introduced herself, “I'm Silverstream.”
Harmony smiled happily at each of them; it was happy to see them at least introducing themselves. When they looked at it; it nodded and spoke, “As I was saying Regna has invaded this world and if the information Overseer has given me is correct. She has already started draining this planets life force. If you.”
An explosion from outside shook the castle; it caused them all to fall to the floor. More explosion followed along with a loud buzzing noise. The noise sounded almost like a million insects were outside; buzzing around the castle.
A insect like voice called out, “Power Rangers!” The humans eye's went wide in shock as the voice continued, “Come out and play!” More explosions echoed from outside.
Sandbar asked, “Who is that?!”
Lake answered, “It's Dead Wasp!”
Suddenly the windows shattered and a large swarm of wasps entered the building. The wasps flew down rapidly and surrounded the humans. They tried to fight their way out; but had no luck. The wasps lifted them up and carried them outside.
Sandbar yelled, “No!” They tried to run after them.
Harmony yelled, “No,” The turned and looked at it as it spoke, “None of you are ready to face something like that yet.”
They looked at Harmony and then to the door; they looked at it with sad looks before running towards the door. She tried to stop them but something blocked its magic allowing all of them to leave the protection of the castle. It called out to them begging them to return. But, they kept running after them. They eventually caught up to them; they were down in the valley bellow fight a large group of humans that looked like giant wasps.
Silverstream asked, “What do we do?”
Smolder answered, “We help,” She looked at Gallus, “Gallus, help me lift Yona up. Silverstream, get Sandbar down to the ground as quick as you can. Ocellus, you too.” The each nodded.
Jack yelled in pain as he was thrown hard against the ground. They stood no chance against the stingers now; they were powered up by their earths life force. He tried to get back on his feet only to be kicked back down hard. He had to block a stab from one of the monster; leaving him completely exposed to another. It was then he heard Yona yelling as she fell to the ground; slamming right into not one but three of them. Allowing him to fight the one that had him pinned off. He kicked it off and looked at her.
He called out, “Yona?” He saw her panting just a few feet away from him. The others were quickly saved by her friends. After dropping her Gallus used his claws to throw two of them off of Jess. While Smolder used her fire breath to back a group of them off Lake. Ocellus helped Will who had two of them restraining him and one attacking him. She took out the one that was attacking; allowing him to fight off the other two. Sandbar ran up and delivered a very hard kick to a stinger on top of Chis; while Silverstream helped Travis by helping him Tag team two of them. The stingers backed off leaving the group in a defensive stance. Each of them panting heavily.
Travis asked, “What are you all doing here?!”
Silverstream answered, “We came to help.”
Laughter suddenly echoed all around them as the swarm of wasps returned; the flew in the air for a little bit before mashing together into a single form. It was a monster that had two giant stingers for hands and had the appearance of a yellow jacket. It laughed wickedly as it stared forward at them.
Dead wasp spoke, “Well, well, well, what do we have here.” It released a threatening buzz causing the humans to move in front of the others, “Looks like I can finally take out the Rangers permanently,” It laughed again before it finished, “Oh, Regna will be so pleased.”
Lake spoke, “All of you get out of here now!”
Smolder asked, “But, what about all of you?”
Jess replied, “We'll be fine now get out of here!”
Gallus replied, “No way! We're not leaving y'all.”
Dead wasp yelled, “So long Rangers!”
A beam of dark energy shot towards them and the humans quickly used their bodies to shield the others from the attack. The attack had hit them dead on; Dead wasp laughed in wicked glee at his victory. Yes, Regna the queen of conquest would be most pleased with him. The Rangers were gone forever. They were gone and he was the one who defeated them. That was until he saw dim lights glowing through the smoke.
“Huh?” The smoke cleared revealing the humans were okay but the creatures were gone, “No, it can't be!?”
Will spoke, “It is,” The others stood beside him each of them had a serious look on their face; as energy coursed through their bodies. He then brought up his left hand revealing a morpher in the shape of Ocellus' face. He then yelled, “Alright guys it's finally time!”
Each of them lifted up their own morpher while also yelling, “Yeah!”
He then yelled, “It's Morphin Time! Changeling ranger!” He pressed a button at the top of the morpher; allowing him to enter the morphing grid. The power surrounded him and began to take form. He looked up and saw his morpher in the air. He jumped and the morpher broke apart and became multiple beams of light. His body was covered in armor that looked similar to Ocellus. When he landed the final piece came down and a helmet in the shape of the changelings head appeared. Its eyes glowed Cyan.
Jack held a morpher in the shape of Yona's face, “Yak Ranger!” Like Will he entered the grid and felt it's power course through him. His armor was a little more bulkier; meaning he could take a lot more damage. The helmet had Yona's horns on top and it had a protective face glass where her mouth was. Her eyes glowed on top of the helmet.
Jess had Gallus as his partner, “Gryphon Ranger!”His armor seemed to be light but the claws on his hands felt heavy. He also felt something heavy on his back; meaning his form had two sets of weapons. When the helmet formed around his head; his beak opened revealing the face shield.
Smolder was partnered with Lake, “Dragon ranger!” The armor looked heavy but was incredibly light. Like Jess she felt something on her back. But, they didn't feel like weapons. When her helmet formed it mirrored Wills. The entire face of Smolder was a protective mask and their were horns on top of the masks head.
Chris had Sandbar as her partner, “Earth Pony Ranger!” Her armor was heavy like Jacks; and she felt a surge of strength course through her body. She felt like she was strong to take on a whole army. The helmet formed around her; it look similar to Lake's helmet. Except on top of hers was Sandbars mane; it coursed with energy.
Travis had Silverstream and they were ready to enter the grid, “Hippogriff Ranger!” His was incredibly light; so light he felt like he was flying. The claws on his hand felt light yet heavy; when his helmet formed around his head. All of them had finally cleared the grid.
Dead wasp shouted, “No, this is impossible.”
Will replied, “No, it's not,” They are all shown completely morphed and ready for battle. He shouted, “We are The Power Rangers!”
With that they each shouted and took a battle stance; it was then a burst of energy was released. It's shock wave spreading out all through the valley. Dead wasp yelled in anger as he ordered his Stinger minions to attack. Both groups charged forward each of them yelling out their own battle cries. They met in the middle and entered a huge brawl. But, this time it was the stingers who were on the ropes. Lake managed to take out two; while Jess managed to take out a third with well placed kick and a fourth by a hard swipe of his claws. Will launched two of them into the air; allowing Travis to flight up and send them back hard into the ground. Chris lifted one over her head and threw it into a group of three. Giving Jack a chance to jump high and then come crashing back down onto all of them.
The remaining stingers quickly fled leaving Dead wasp behind. He growled out in anger as he stared forward at the slowly advancing rangers. With a growl he broke apart into the swarm and flew away. Each of them came to a stop as they watched the monster fly away. For a moment all they did was stand still. They then looked at one another and nodded.
All at once they said, “Power down!” Each of them glowed for a few seconds and then they split apart.
The humans turned and looked at their partners; none of them said anything they only smiled at each other. It was then all of them suddenly fell to the ground and passed out. The sudden surge of completely wiped them out. As they each gave into the sudden exhaustion; Harmony appeared before them and used its magic to teleport them all back to the tree.
