Ace Combat: Harmony Unknown
Operation 01: Conflict
A F-14 Tomcat flies through the sky. On it is a decal for the Earth Pony Nation. Flying said plane is an orange Earth Pony mare with purple hair. Behind her is an Earth Pony stallion, that is a lighter color of orange with turquoise hair.
“Alright Sunny!” the stallion said, “Looks like nothing is out here. Just another routine patrol.”
The pilot, Sunny Starscout, sighed… “Of course… Just another boring routine patrol. So far the Pegasus and Unicorn Nations haven’t been planning an attack on us for years.”
“Despite the rumors of these attacks, there is nothing substantial to them.” The co-pilot Hitch Trailblazer said. Just then something appears on the radar. “Wait there are three bogies coming in… YES! They’re Unicorn Nation Harrier IIs! About damn time!”
“Let’s go confront them. I’m hoping they just lost and leave our air space.” Sunny said.
“I doubt it, Sunny!”
The Tomcat flew until the Harriers came into view of the two pilots.
“There they are…” Hitch said, and Sunny calls it in.
“Base this is Solar! We have about two enemy Harriers within our air space! What shall we do over?”
“Solar! This is base! You are to try and chase them off! If they attack, then you are free to engage!”
“Roger that base! Moving to intercept!”
Sunny got closer to them and sent out a message to the two Harriers.
“This is the Earth Pony Nation! You are violating our air space! Please leave now and we’ll not attack you!”
Instead of flying out of Earth Pony air space. The two harriers began attack procedures. Flying behind the Tomcat.
“SHIT!” Hitch exclaimed, “Evasive maneuvers, Sunny!”
“On it!” Sunny then maneuvers her plane behind one of them and locks on to her target. “Solar! Fox Two! Firing!”
Sunny fires a AIM-9 Sidewinder missile at the target, but the target launches one of it’s flare countermeasures to shake off the Sidewinder.
“Damn! It didn’t hit!”
“Ah Sunny second bogie is behind us!”
The second Harrier locked onto the Tomcat, and fired a missile at it.
“Countermeasures!” Sunny exclaimed, as she activated the flare countermeasures.
“Get behind them! BREAK! BREAK!”
The Tomcat breaks and gets behind the Harrier, that was behind the Tomcat. Sunny manages to get a radar lock onto the Harrier.
“Locked on! Fox Three!” Sunny fires an AIM-54 Phoenix at the Harrier and the missile hits its mark despite it’s countermeasures being deployed. The burning wreckage falls to the ground, as the other Harrier leaves the Earth Pony air space. Knowing that it would mean certain death to engage this fighter jet.
“Second bogie is bugging out, base!” Hitch exclaimed, “We’re returning home!”
“Alright glad to hear it Solar! Come on home! We’re expecting ya!”
It’s been five hundred years since the Court of Friendship passed away… Leaving Princess Twilight Sparkle to rule Equestria alone. Since then the magic has vanished from Equestria, and the now former nation has split into three nations. Each belonging to one of the three pony races. Due to the magic vanishing, ponies began to utilize science and technology in order to survive.
Each nation built their own war machines in order to invade and to defend their respective nation. Thus two hundred years ago, the Racial Civil War was fought amongst the three races for an entire century. Thus a peace treaty was finally signed and for the previous century peace reigned. Yet today it seems that the Unicorn Nation has violated the century old peace treaty. This can only mean that a new racial war will begin…
A F-111 Aardvark was on patrol in the Unicorn Nation. Flying is a unicorn stallion with a purple fur coat and white hair. His co-pilot is a purple unicorn mare with blue hair.
“Whenever am I going to get to fly?” The mare asked.
“Izzy… The last time you flew, you went to fly by the tower, and you accidentally clipped the wing off said tower. Fortunately we escaped, but you’ve been ordered to be my co-pilot ever since. Command does NOT want y6ou to fly ever again!”
Izzy Moonbow is kind of a… Ditzy unicorn. She isn’t very good at flying a jet plane. Let alone doing anything else without screwing up. Just then something appeared on the radar.
“Ohhh… Magic… We have something on radar, and it’s one of ours!” Izzy exclaimed.
“It’s from Mystic Squadron…” Magic Spell-Mage said, “Mystic 1! Where is Mystic 2!? Repeat what happened to your wing mate!?”
“He’s gone Magus! Earth Ponies shot him down and killed him! They violated the century old treaty! I’m going back to base and reporting this!”
“Wasn’t Mystic 1 and 2 going to the Earth Pony Nation to relay a personal message?”” Izzy asked.
“That was the plan. However Mystic Squadron are a group of mercenaries. No telling what their actual plan was... “ Magic said, “It is kept secret from us and only Mystic Squadron and the Prince know what the plan is… Let’s get back to base.”
“Aren’t we going to ask what the plan was?” Izzy asked.
Magic shook his head, “It’s not our place, and WELL above your paygrade.”
The Aardvark flew towards its respective military base.
Hitch and Sunny entered Commander Sandstorm’s office at the military base, Gaia. They saluted the Commander, and she in turn saluted back.
“Good job out there you two!” Sandstorm, a sandy yellow coat with light brown hair, said. “However I just got chewed out by the Chancellor. Those two Harriers were on their way to the Capitol to relay a very private message to the Chancellor. This despite the fact, that I told her they engaged first. They were the aggressors.”
“That makes no sense to me!” Sunny said.
“I have to agree with her.” Hitch added, “If they were going to relay a message to us. Why did they engage?”
“That is what I’m wondering as well.” Sandstorm said, “I’ve ran through as many possibilities in my head. From maybe they thought they were allowed safe passage to maybe they didn’t announce their presence beforehand. Whatever the reason, I can’t figure out why…”
“Unless what we thought was a message, was really an assassination attempt?” Sunny asked.
“Most likely!” Sandstorm replied, “In any case the Threat Level has been moved up to Orange! We’re now on watch for any further problems with the Unicorn Nation.”
Zapp Storm sits right next to the daughter of the Queen of the Pegasus Nation, Sakura Petals. The Princess’ name being Pipp Petals. Pipp is a pink colored mare with purple hair. They’re currently flying a F-4E Phantom II.
“Yes Your Majesty.” Zapp received a communication from the ruler of the Pegasus Nation.
“Was that mom?” Pipp asked, “Is it time?”
“Yes! We have clearance to begin the attack on the Earth Pony Nation.” Zapp replied, “Let’s begin…”
The Phantom was joined by several F-15E Strike Eagles. “This is Hurricane Leader to all planes. We can begin our attack. Switch to the Mavericks and begin your attack run!”
All planes left their formation and flew towards the first base: Gaia...
Sunny was in her quarters on base, reading a book on the Main Six of old, when suddenly explosions rocked the base, and sir raid sirens went off.
“WE ARE UNDER ATTACK! THIS NOT A DRILL! EVERYONE IS TO REPORT TO YOUR ASSIGNED STATIONS IMMEDIATELY!” Came the announcement of the base wide PA System.
Sunny quickly ran out of her quarters in the barracks and galloped as fast she could to the airfield. It was time to fight back!
Author's Note
This is a new story, where I'm actually trying something radically different. Something that takes me out of my comfort zone. An Ace Combat story based on what we know of Generation 5 MLP. So this technically doesn't take place in FiM. As this is the next generation of MLP. Hence is has the characters that were revealed for the new Gen 5 movie. Zapp Storm and Magic Spell-Mage are my OCs for this story and there will be more later on as the story continues.
