Chapters The Blue Beetle of Equestria
A 12 year old Button Mash sighs as he walks home from school. He's wearing a gray hooded with black sweat pants and gray shoes. He had gotten the grade on his Math Test which he didn't do too bad on, getting an 86% on it.
Once he got home he greeted his Mother.
"Mom! I'm home!" He yells.
"How was school?" Cream Heart, his mother asks as she looks to him while working on dinner.
"Good. I got an 86% on my Math test." He says showing her the test.
"That's very good. I see that your Math tutor Sweetie Belle has helped you improve your Math grade." She says with a smile.
Button Blushes at that since he has a crush on the pink and purple maned filly. Thankfully he was able to talk to her without stumbling over his words like many colts in his situation would do.
Unfortunately, he was unable to work up the courage to tell her how he feels since he wasn't a very sociable pony.
"Button. It's a beautiful day today. Why don't you go outside and go spend time with some fillies and colts your age instead of staying in your room and playing video games?" She says with a kind tone.
"I don't know." Says Buttons.
Cream Heart sighs before responding.
"Just... give it a shot for me okay?" She asks with a gentle tone.
Button stops for a moment before sighing.
"Alright I'll give it a try." He says.
With that he heads outside to try and make some friends.
Little did he know how things were going to change in his life...
Two hours later we see Button Mash walking across town with an exhausted look on his face.
"Okay so far, no luck." He says with some defeat in his voice.
Just as he was about to head home an event happened that would change everything.
Boom!
A building had just exploded!
It wasn't just any building either. As when Button Mash looked to see what happened he saw that the Star Industries building had just been where the explosion happened!
For those not in the know Star Industries was founded by an Earth Pony mare by the name of Magic Star. Not much was known about her other than that she had an incredible knowledge in the Magical and Technological studies. When her company had been formed 20 years ago advancements in technology had increased.
Things like televisions, radio's, phones, computers, and video games existed because of this company!
Button could stare at the destroyed building in shock.
That's when he noticed something in the wreckage. Curious yet cautious, Button approaches slowly.
That's when he finds it. A shiny, blue, metallic scarab like object near the building.
He slowly pick it up to find that it isn't very heavy despite being made of metal.
That's when he realizes its getting dark out.
"Oh geez! I'm going to be late for dinner!" He yelps and quickly pockets the scarab like object in his pocket and runs home.
Once he gets home his mother rushes over to him with worry on her face.
"Button are you alright? There was an-"
"An explosion at the Star Industries building. I know I saw it happen."
"What?! You weren't hurt were you?!"
"Relax mom. I'm fine. I wasn't close enough to get hurt by it."
She looks like she doesn't believe it but lets it go anyway.
"Alright then. Go get ready for dinner then. We're having pizza tonight."
That makes Button perk right up. He loves eating pizza.
"Alright. I'll be down in a few minutes."
After dinner
Once the family finished dinner Button goes up to his room and places the scarab on his dresser and heads to sleep.
The scarab wouldn't stay on the dresser though. It would move someplace else.

The next morning Button woke up, grabbed some clothes, and headed to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
While getting dressed he notices something strange .
On his back was the strange scarab he had found at the destroyed Star Industries building!
It took all of Button's will to not start yelling and panicking.
Once he was calm he began asking questions.
"Okay, what is this thing?" He questions
"I am known as a Scarab, serial number Khaji Da." Says a mechanical voice.
That made Button freeze in place since it sounded like the voice was coming from inside his head. After that he needed time to calm down again.
"Okay, so there's a Scarab latched onto my back going by the name Khaji Da. That's totally normal." Button says with sarcasm.
"I was unaware that this is normal for your species."
"It's not, I was being sarcastic."
"Understood." Says Khaji.
"I'm probably going to regret asking this, but why did you latch onto my back?" Questions Button.
"The answer as to why this unit has fused to your spine is unknown. There is missing data from this units memory storage."
"Well that's just- wait did you just say fused to my spine?" Button asks. He knew it was on his back, but it fused to his spine as well?!
"Correct, this is how this unit is able to communicate with you."
"Good to know. So what were you designed to do?"
"This unit believes that it has a mission. However, the mission is unknown because of the missing data."
"Button! Is everything okay in there?!" Asks his mother from outside the bathroom.
"Everything is fine mom! Just getting dressed!" Yells Button.
"This unit believes that this conversation should be continued at a different time."
"Agreed." Whispers Button as he finished getting ready.
Once he was dressed he went down for breakfast. Thankfully it was Saturday so there was no school.
After eating breakfast he excuses himself so he could go for a walk and continue his conversation with Khaji Da.
Once button was outside he continued the conversation.
"So do you have any memory of before I found you?"
"Negative. However there are a few keywords that seem to be of importance."
"What are the key words?"
"The known keywords are Blue Beetle, Magic Star, The Super Society and The Reach."
This confused Button at first. What did they all mean? He knew about the Super Society. They were the predecessors of the Super Friends.
Then he remembered something.
The Super Society had a hero called the Blue Beetle in their group. There was also the fact that the building he found Khaji Da in belonged to Magic Star.
That possibly meant that Magic Star was the Blue Beetle. But what was the Reach?
Just trying to figure that peace of information out gave him a headache. So he continued with his walk.
Once he finished his walk he began heading home.
However before he could get there there was a loud crash sound and the screaming was heard.
Button quickly turns around to see what's happening.
"Run! It's another villain attack!" Some pony yells in panic.
Button then heads to an alleyway to hide.
"Okay, we're safe." Says Button.
" This is true. However this unit has armor and weapons at its disposal. Would you like for it to be used?"
This makes Buttons eyes widen. This thing had armor and weapons? Part of him didn't exactly believe or trust it. However, a curious part of him wanted to test it out.
"Okay. Activate the armor."

Meeting Mare-Do-Well and Filly-Be-Good

Meeting Mare-Do-Well and Filly-Be-Good
The next few days went by with very little difference.
Button continued to fight crime as the Blue Beetle while trying to figure out more about Magic Star, the previous Blue Beetle.
At the same time however. The Scarab, Khaji Da continued to insist that terminating the enemy was the best option, though Button was still stood against doing that.
He was also unable to find out more about the previous Blue Beetle.
Little did he know that he would receive help from surprising allies.
Button flew over Ponyville with the wings the scarab gave him while on patrol. So far there was nothing too major going on just a normal day with no crime to fight.
That's when he noticed a commotion in an alleyway.
"Khaji, there's some commotion in that alleyway, lets go check it out."
Affirmative, but keep an eye open for anything that might ambush us. We're not invincible.
One of the things that Button had noticed was that Khaji was staring to speak like a living being instead of like an AI.
"Got it. Lets do this." Button says as he slow flies into the alley way, mentally preparing himself for a fight.
When he got into the alleyway however, the fight was already over!
"What happened to these guys?" Button questions as he looks at the downed goons and muggers.
This unit is not 100% sure. The best that can be assumed is that someone else got to them first.
"Yeah, but who?"
"This would be our doing." Says a new, female voice.
Turning around, Button is surprised to see the last two ponies he was expecting.
Standing behind him was a mare wearing a skin-tight purple suit with a purple hat and mask and a filly his age wearing a read and green suit with a yellow R on the side of the shirt wearing a black mask. It was Mare-Do-Well and Filly-Be-Good. A founding member of the Super Friends and the leader of the Foal Titans!
"Mare-Do-Well and Filly-Be-Good. What are you doing here?
"Looking for you, you're hard to find you know." Says Filly-Be-Good. Button couldn't help but notice that Filly-Be-Good looked kind of... familiar.
"Why were you looking for me?" He asks.
"There are two reason for this. The first reason is because we need some information." Says Mare-Do-Well.
"What kind of information?" Asks Button
"We want to know who you are and how you got that suit." Says Filly-Be-Good.
"Well I got the suit when I found Khaji, the scarab that you can see on the back of my suit." Says Button.
"The scarab has a name?" Questions Mare-Do-Well.
"Sort of. It has some sort of AI that's been teaching me how to use the suit." Button explains.
"Interesting." Mutters Mare-Do-Well.
"I hate to be rude. But what's the other reason for looking for me?"
"Oh, that's because we wanted to invite you to meet the Foal Titans!" Filly-Be-Good says happily.
"Really?" Button asks in surprise.
Mare-Do-Well looks to Filly-Be-Good in mild annoyance but nods her head in confirmation.
"Yes, the rest of the Super Friends and Foal Titans wish to meet you in order to see if you're able to join Filly-Be-Goods team."
"Alright. When should the meeting be?
"Tomorrow after noon if that's alright with you?" Says Filly-Be-Good.
"Yeah, that works. Where should we meet though?"
"Meet us in this alleyway. We'll then go to the Super Friends HQ once we meet up." Says Mare-Do-Well.
"Alright. Thanks for the info." Says Button.
With that Button headed home while Mare-Do-Well and Filly-Be-Good returned to Super Friends HQ to prepare for tomorrow.

Meeting the Super Friends: Part 2
As Blue Beetle, Canary, and. Martian Pony Hunter walked to the room where the Foal Titans spent their time Canary asked him a question.
"Have you ever met the Foal Titans before?" She asks.
"I met Filly-Be-Good when Mare-Do-Well went to look for me, besides that one time no." Beetle says as they walk towards a door.
"Well, they're right through that door. We'll come get you once the others are ready to see you." Canary says as she and Martian Pony Hunter head off towards the meeting room.
Beetle then faces the door and pauses. How would this go? What would they think of him? Sure he'd met Filly-Be-Good, but that was only one fourth of the group!
"I believe we will not find out until we go through the door." Khaji says, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Right, here goes nothing." Beetle says quietly as he opens the door.
Once in the room he sees that room is decently sized with a data terminal, an area to spar, and an entertainment area.
It was near the table where the Foal Titans were at.
The first member of the Foal Titans was a Unicorn Filly wearing a Red and Green unitard with a yellow cape and yellow F on the left side of it and green Boots and gloves and a black mask. Filly-Be-Good, partner of Mare-Do-Well.
The Second Member of the Foal Titans was a Pegasus Filly wearing a yellow and Red suit with a lightning bolt on the chest. Kid Dash, partner of The Dash.
The third member of the Foal Titans was an Earth Pony Filly wearing a suite similar to Super-Mares with a red skirt and boots. Super Filly, partner of Super Mare.
The fourth member of the Foal Titans is another Earth Pony Filly wearing a white leotard with a red cape, belt and blue boots and gloves. Power Filly, the other partner of Super-Mare.
Power Filly and Super Filly were having an arm wrestling match and it looked like Power Filly was winning.
That's when Blue Beetle spoke up.
"Um, hello?" He says, catching their attention and causing Super Filly to win the arm wrestle.
"Yes!" Super Filly says happily while Power Filly grumbles under her breath.
"Blue Beetle, nice to see you again." Filly-Be-Good says greeting the male hero.
"Same here." Blue Beetle says.
"So this is the guy who took down Reverse Dash?" Asks Kid Dash.
"Yep!" Says Filly-Be-Good with a smile on her face. Blue Beetle couldn't help but think he's seen her somewhere else before.
"Doesn't seem so tough to me." Power Filly says with a frown.
"This, Power Filly doesn't seem to like you." Khaji Da says through their link.
Before Beetle could respond that Super Filly interrupts.
"Appearance isn't everything, remember when Filly-Be-Good beat you in a spar?" Asks Super Filly
That shuts Power Filly down.
"Anyways, what brings you here?" Asks Filly-Be-Good.
"I was told to wait here while the Super Friends prepare for the interview." Blue Beetle says.
"Okay, so what do we do until then?" Asks Kid Dash.
"Well, we could talk about something." Says Super Filly.
That's how they spent the next 20 minutes discussing their abilities and what the knew about their powers.
Eventually Canary and Martian Pony Hunter showed up to bring Blue Beetle to the meeting room.
"You ready?" Asks Canary.
"Yeah, I guess." Says Blue Beetle.
With that it was time for the Blue Beetle to meet the rest of the Super Friends.

Meeting the Super Friends Part 3
As Canary and Martian Pony Hunter lead Blue Beetle to the meeting room several questions go through his head.
What did the Super Friends want to know? Would they know anything about Khaji Da? Or even about Magic Star?
The the lack of information was making him nervous.
Eventually the three of them reach the meeting room where the meeting would take place.
"Alright we're here." Canary says, opening the door and walking inside.
Without any hesitation Blue Beetle goes inside the meeting room with Canary and Martian Pony Hunter.
Once inside he sees the main members of the Super Friends. Super Mare, Mare-Do-Well, Pink Arrow, The Dash, Wonder Mare, Captain Alicorn and the leader herself, Green Lantern.
"So you're the new Blue Beetle?" Asks Green Lantern
"Yeah, I am." Blue Beetle says.
"Okay, just making sure. Now we have some questions we want to ask you. Is that alright?" Asks Wonder Mare, who seems familiar to Blue Beetle.
"Uh, sure." Blue Beetle says.
"Alright, how did you receive the Scarab you know as Khaji Da?" Asks Mare-Do-Well
"I found it near what remained of the Star Industries building after it exploded." Explains Blue Beetle
"What do you know about the Scarab?" Asks Wonder Mare
"Not much, just that it fused to my spine after I found it and it has a system that has a suit of armor and weapons installed in it." Blue Beetle explains.
"So you potentially have a piece of lien technology fused to your spine and you don't know what it's meant for?" Green Lantern asks with a slightly agitated look on her face, not realizing that the ring on her finger is glowing.
"Uh, yeah. Khaji also told me that there Data Missing from it. All were able to figure out is that Magic Star was the previous Blue Beetle and that there's a group known as The Reach involved." Admits Button
That gets Green Lanterns attention.
"The reach? That sounds... familiar. I'll have to go to Oa in order to find out more." Green Lantern says.
"Anymore questions?" Asks Blue Beetle.
"Yes, we need to know your civilian identity in case of an emergency." Mare-Do-Well says.
Blue Beetle hesitates before Khaji speaks to him through their link.
"I do not trust the Green Lantern. However, it would be in our best interest to do as they say." Says Khaji
Blue Beetle nods his head and deactivates the armor.
"My name is Button Mash, I'm 12 years old." The Earth Pony says, revealing his identity to them with Mare-Do-Well's eyes widening behind her mask.
After sorting everything out the Super Friends agree to help him find out more about Magic Star and The Reach.
Button was given a communicator and a teleportation device so that he can go to the base whenever he needs to after becoming a member of the Foal Titans.
Green Lantern then informs the group she'll be on planet Oa for 3 weeks for a big mission and that she'd try to find out more about The Reach in that time.
Eventually, Button goes home and has dinner with his family before going to bed.
Little does he realize how things are going to change.

Meanwhile in Space we see an insect shaped spaceship beginning to approach a planet.
On the inside of the ship we see insect like aliens monitoring the planet.
"Status report." The leader of the ship says.
"Sir, we've just received notice that a Green Lantern has left the planet and is heading towards Oa." Says one of the other insect like aliens.
"Interesting. What of our missing scarab?" Asks the leader.
"Still no luck locating it. However, it seems that the scarab has been activated." Says the insect alien.
The leaders eyes show some interest.
"What makes you think that?" Asks the leader.
"We received notice that it has been activated, however we were unable to recall it."
"So we have a rogue?" Asks the leader in distaste.
"Potentially, sir."
The leader stops for a moment to think before coming up with the answer.
"Send down Black Beetle to assess the situation."

Encountering Black Beetle: Part 1

Encountering Black Beetle: Part 1
It's been a week since Button met the Super Friends and the Foal Titans and a few things have happened since then.
The first thing to happen is Button got to use the training equipment in the base and got to spar with the Foal Titans to improve his fighting skill. Though he still doesn't know who they are.
The second thing to happen is he met the hero known as Trixie Gold, another member of the Super Friends who joined a little later. Though she seemed suspicious of him for some reason.
This brings us to what's going on currently.
We find Button in his armor in the base with the rest of the Super Friends being introduced to a new member of the group.
"Titans, this is Aqua Colt, the partner of Aqua Pony. He'll be working with you from this point onwards." Says Mare-Do-Well.
"Welcome to the Foal Titans. " Filly-Be-Good says,extending her hand for a handshake.
"Thank you, it is a pleasure to meet you." Aqua Colt says politely.
"Aqua Colt, you stay here. Beetle, could you come with us, we need to discuss something." Says Mare-Do-Well.
"Uh, okay." Button says as he follows Mare-Do-Well.
Button follows her to a meeting room where The Dash and Wonder-Mare are waiting.
"Glad you could make it Beetle." The Dash says with a slight grin.
"So what's the meeting about?" Asks Button.
"Captain Alicorn and I were searching the remains of the Star Industries buildings and we came across some files." Mare-Do-Well says as she and Captain Alicorn show Button the files they discovered. Needless to say there was a lot of papers to look through.
"That's a lot of papers to look through." Button says, a bit startled.
" Not all of it is from the Star Industries building either. Some of it is from the Super Societies database as well. " Dash says as she begins to leave the room.
"Where are you going? " Asks Mare-Do-Well.
" Kid Dash and I are going on patrol. We'll be back later. " Dash says she speeds off to go get her partner.
"Anyways, I'll be sure to look through these and see if I can find anything." Button says as he heads back to the room where the Foal Titans are.
"What are you thinking Mare-Do-Well?" Asks Captain Alicorn as he looks at the caped crusader warily, knowing how she was suspicious of situations like this.
"I think we need to ask Trixie Gold about this." Mare-Do-Well says knowing that the time traveling mare might know something about this.
Meanwhile Dash and Kid Dash are patrolling the area, looking for signs of trouble.
"So far so good." Dash says with Kid Dash looking bored.
" This is getting kind of boring. Why can't something happen? "BOOM!
An explosion immeditaly catches their attention. Dash gives her partner a look as she grins nervously.
"Let go check it out. " Dash says with a sigh as they both head towards where the explosion is.
At the same time we see Blue Beetle and Filly-Be-Good looking through the files, trying to figure out more about Khaji Da.
"Okay so far we have more questions than answers. Khaji gave Magic Star a suit like with me, but the suit changed several times and it never looked like mine. Not to mention he didn't merged to her like he did with me." Beetle says, frustrated.
Filly-Be-Good just looks at him reassuringly.
" Let's take it one step at a time. Why don't we start with what we know so far. " Says Filly-Be-Good.
Blue Beetle nods his head and looks over the information they have.
"Okay, before she formed Star Industires, Magic Star worked as a researcher studying ancient magical relics. Then one day, she discovered the scarab, who I know to be Khaji Da. She then discovered that Khaji Da has an unknown power that she used to become the first Blue Beetle." Button says looking through the papers and notes."
"Yeah, that makes some sense. Magical Items tend to do different things. However, Magic Star was unable to find any other Magical Objects like Khaji Da. That makes me think Khaji may not be a Magical Item like they thought." Says Filly-Be-Good.
This makes Blue Beetle look at Filly-Be-Good. Before he can ask her what she means an alarm goes off and Mare-Do-Well appears in front of the door.
"Dash and Kid Dash need back up. Lets move." Says Mare-Do-Well.

That being said I also don't own The Super Friends or the Foal Titans, they belong to their respective owners.
I did however alter a few things and might add some new heroes.
Prologue
Equestria. A land of Harmony and Friendship. Ruled by the royal sisters, Celestia and Luna has for a small while been under the threat of super villains.
This is where the Super Friends take the stage. A group of ponies with extraordinary abilities came together to combat many different crisis's
Green Lantern: Princess Celestia's student known as Twilight Sparkle who received a special ring of the Green Lantern corp that gave her flight and the ability to create tools to fight crime.
Mare-Do-Well: A crime fighter who uses her detective and fighting skills to prove that you don't need super powers to be a hero. Unknown to many however, Mare-Do-Well is actually is Rarity, the owner of Carousel Boutique.
The Dash: A Pegasus with Super Speed that can move as fast as lightning to stop criminals in their tracks. Also known as Rainbow Dash.
Wonder Mare: A Pegasus with the tools known as the Lasso of Truth and the Gauntlets of Submisson. She is secretly known as Fluttershy, the shy and timid Pegasus who lives near the ever free forest
Pink Arrow: A mysterious Earth Pony who wears a pink hooded outfit who like Mare-Do-Well doesn't have super powers and instead uses a bow with many different types of arrows. She is secretly Pinkamena Diana Pie. Or as her friends know her Pinkie Pie.
Super Mare: One of the last survivors of the lost world known Coltron. Having many amazing abilities such as flight, super strength, laser vison, and many other abilities she is also secretly known as Applejack, a member of the Apple family in Ponyville.
Aqua Pony: The ruler of the Oceanic Creatures. He's also known as Lord Tydal, the older brother of Celestia and Luna.
Finally we have Captain Alicorn, a mysterious hero who appeared and has proven to be just as strong as Super Mare and has a heart that refuses to bend to evils might. He is secretly Spike the Dragon, Twilights assistant and younger adoptive brother. When he calls the words "SHAZAM!" He can turn into Captain Alicorn and back"
Together they make. up the founding seven members of Super Friends. While many other would join them, such as Trixie Gold, Martian Pony Hunter, Canary, Vibe, but they were the founding members.
However, this isn't their story, this is the story of the Blue Beetle. The kid hero and soon to be member of the Foal Titans!

Meeting the Super Friends Part 1
The next day Button mash is waiting for Mare Do Well and Filly-Be-Good in his armor at the alleyway they met in the other day.
"Where are they? Shouldn't they be here by now?" Button questions.
Not sure. However they may be arriving soon. Says Khaji
Before he Button can say anything else he hears a voice behind him.
"I see you're on time." Button turns around and sees Mare-Do-Well and Filly-Be-Good with two other members of the Super Friends. The Martian Pony Hunter and Canary.
The Martian Pony Hunter was an alien from another planet that could shapeshift. Though her preferred appearance was a green pegasus pony with a white shirt with a red X shaped vest blue pants withno mane or tail.
Canary was an Earth Pony with the meta-pony ability to use super sonic scream. She has pale green fur with Blue Eyes and a black mane and tail wearing black boots, gloves, shorts and a white shirt covered by a black jacket and a black domino mask similar to Filly-Be-Goods.
"So you're the new Blue Beetle?" Asks Canary in a kind voice. Button couldn't help but think he's heard her voice before.
"Yeah, I am."
" So what's the plan now sis?" Asks Filly-Be-Good making Button question if he's met Filly-Be-Good any other times.
That's when a portal opens behind them.
"Now we go to base." Mare-Do-Well says as she goes through the portal with Canary, Martian Pony Hunter, and Filly-Be-Good following her.
Not seeing any other choice, Button follows them through.
On the other side of the portal Button sees that he's inside of a base with various rooms. The room he's currently inside is a teleporter room of some kind.
"Wow." Says Button, amazed by all the technology.
"Impressive isn't it. Green Lantern takes a great amount of pride in all the tech she's developed." Says a new voice
Turning around Button is shocked be in the presence of the Mare of Steel herself, Supermare.
" Y-yeah. It is. But how did she make all this?" Asks button.
"Well she made it using technology she brought from space with permission from the Guardians of Oa.
"Hey! Don't forget about me!" Martian Pony Hunter says in a upset voice.
"Yeah, Martian Pony Hunter helped her since she knows how some of it works." Canary says crossing her arms and giving Supermare a look.
Supermare sweats a bit before turning to Button.
"We'll be heading to the meeting room where the Titans are going to meet us and after that Green Lantern wants to talk to you okay?"
"Okay. Lead the way." Button says as he follows Supermare to the room.
