She could be smooth like silk but if you cross her she'd use the language of an uncouth sailor. She was a bitch to everypony. Sumatra and Dark started the process of buying a nice modest house and Latté was moving in with the pair. Latté's school grades were soaring and she'd win the school trivia matches. Sumatra was happy and she could see Dark Star briskly walking up the sidewalk.
[Dark Star]
"I can't stand that mare anymore! She shows up late every fucking morning and she gets away with it! I show up late I get yelled at! What the fucking hell am I missing!"
"Dark Star, calm down and tell me what's wrong?"
"It's Hazel..........again, she almost got killed and the boss went and bought her a gun. She almost screwed an operation up, and I'm expected to go see her. I swear I'm going crazy and to top it all off she just swept the floor with my ass in an office match of trivia. I'd love to see her be beaten by Twilight Sparkle or something."
"Well, there is a trivia match going down in my shop tonight. Twilight is gonna be here, so is Starlight Glimmer, Sunburst, Knuckles and his herd, Sunset Shimmer, and all of the most brilliant minds are here. Why not bring her down here and see how she holds up. Surely no pony is as smart as you say."
"Does an undergraduate in genetics mean anything to you? How about a BA degree in the fields of science and medicine or how about being only seventeen and graduated from the best school in Canterlot? She also somehow managed to set up a whole security system in the office and complete twelve super sudoku puzzles in an hour. When I left she had balanced four pencils and five fidget spinners on her horn and kept them balanced while spinning circles in an office chair spinning circles."
"Sounds rough. Look at it this way, at least she's nice compared to that Butterscotch Brulé. Brulé comes in and demands her order and doesn't even leave a tip! Who does that? Hazel on the other hoof, I know struggles financially but she tips well.
[Trivia]
The trivia match began, Sumatra saw the ponies show up. Hazel felt awkward for being there. It was tough but she shone like a star, her brilliant mind matched Twilight's, Starlight, Sunset's, and Sunburst's when it came to magic history. When it got to the music segment two ponies were sipping their drinks chuckling, because they had picked obscure songs, and artists, for the questions. These two were Octavia and Vinyl and were surprised at how fast teams fell behind.

Several other teams were present Hazel and Sparks led by a good portion. Sumatra and Dark tried their best but kept a consistent five points back behind Twilight, Sunset, and Starlight and their respect of teams. The match ended around 1 A.M. that morning as ponies left Dark was blown away at how much Hazel knew! With everypony gone, Dark and Sumatra shared some coffee, and Latté joined them.

Sumatra woke up and began making breakfast, her small household consisting of herself, Dark Star, and Latté were enjoying breakfast when Latté spoke up, "Got a foal sitting gig tonight, I'm babysitting for Knuckles. He's got a ton of kids, let's see if I remember all of the names.

Cherry Blossom will be easy or so they say, I'm to make sure they get their homework done and have them in bed by 9 P.M. or the latest at 9:15 P.M. and no later.

Like clockwork Butterscotch, Brulé showed up and she was the most ruse she'd ever been. I almost threw her out, once she left, sweet Hazel strolled in with her shades balanced on her head and a wireless earbud in one ear and head bobbing to music.........I saw the song title and knew she got hooked on music composed by Vinyl & Octavia. Hazel also had developed tastes for jazz and listened to Beauty Brass some too. As she left Dark watched her leave. He commented on how she was almost as random as that party-pony Pinkie Pie. I laughed, no pony can be as random as that mare! I watched him leave for work and that was usually when the day began. The news was flying that Clyde and his crew were locked in prison for various crimes and that Blueblood had been gang-raped by the inmates he was locked up with. That afternoon Latté stopped by to grab a few board games that her evening would love:

Latté was covered, she hugged her honorary daughter good-bye and she was surprised to have Latté not pull away, most teens don't like being hugged.
I shrugged, maybe her having her dad back had softened her up since I met her? The day was very busy like any other when Dark and I left I closed up shop and we looked at houses and we found the perfect one, on one side we had an elderly couple for neighbors and on the other side we somehow ended up next to a massive mansion, who would've guessed that Knuckles was gonna be our neighbor?
Babysitting
Latté arrived at the home of her fist foal-sitting gig. She was nervous as Sweetie Belle opened the door and was shown in. She officially met all of the kids and didn't know why exactly why she was there? Staccato was old enough to take care of her siblings she had figured but in two minutes she figured out why Staccato wanted her so badly.
"Lily Shade you had better apologize to Demeter!"
"That bug just ruined my art piece for class Celestia-damn her! My grade for the year hung on that project!" Latté gulped, now she was gonna have to prove herself.
"Staccato, Lily Shade what is going on? I could hear you from almost across the house!" When she got the whole story she latched onto Lily who was in the wrong by reaction not by deed.
"Lily............look, Demeter said it was an accident she had no reason to wreck your artwork. Besides darling, it shouldn't be so close to the door-way. Now apologize for yelling at her and calling her a bug..............and for asking for Celestia to damn her.................I'm not gonna ask again." All she got from Lily was spat on and Demeter got kicked in the ribs. Lily then went outside.
Latté followed her and bit down on her ear and dragged her back in and up the stairs to the room labeled 'Lily Shade' and ordered her on the bed.
"Look Lily, this night can be fun or absolute hell. As one of the eldest, you need to be setting an example, now please go and apologize and I'll start you with a clean slate." Lily just sat there and glared.
"Bribing me won't work bitch, we don't need you. If I could I'd sell my changeling sisters, or better yet torch them!" Lily was appalled deep down, glancing over her shoulder Knuckles watched still.
"Do you realize that there are foals who'd give their most prized possession to have a sibling to make memories of with? You'll be staying up here tonight, I wish I didn't have to but your actions need consequence..........my dad wasn't in the picture till now, and in every foster family I was in I broke the rules and rebelled. I was trouble and a tome bomb before I'd get myself killed somehow. You had a good start, where is this rebellion coming from?" Latté was turning to leave when she caught the scent of something odd. Looking around she saw nothing. She'd look later.
When Knuckles and his wives left the evening was a blast, Latté found Lily had snuck out of the house at some point panicked she called Knuckles then she dialed the only mare she knew, Sumatra. Poking around the room for that odd scent she found a pack of cigarettes that smelled like marijuana.............she should know, she'd had used the drug once and almost OD the substance. When Knuckles arrived with his wives, Latté was pacing the living room. She showed what she had found and cried, her handling of the situation earlier got one of his daughters on the streets. Knuckles was making phone calls while Sweetie, Savannah, and Redheart comforted Latté and told her she had no idea this was gonna happen. Lily had a missing pony report placed and the family searched but never found her until they finally got a lead.
