When the Enclave commands, obey. Do not question. Obey. Do not fight back. Obey.

Prance Horrigan thought it was just going to be another mission like all the others. He had done hundreds of missions for the Enclave, why should this one be any different? The amount of troops Colonel Harbinger was bringing along was a little out of the ordinary, but that wasn't really any of his business. When the Grand Pegasus Enclave ordered him to do something, Prance obeyed.

Horrigan wasn't much for asking questions. He simply did what he was told. It was easier that way. The world doesn't make sense a lot of the time, but following orders are easy. Orders are simple. Orders make sense. Duty, Honour, courage, obedience. Prance served, and when the Enclave commanded, Prance would kill. That was just the way things were. That was the way things had always been. The way things always would be.

But this was not just another mission like all the others. This was the beginnings of something much, much larger. The beginnings of a war that would shape the wasteland forever and blast the Enclave right from the sky. It was a mission that was doomed to end in disaster and balefire. Four Pegasi would soon enter Maripony to confront the Goddess, but only one of those ponies would make it out alive... if you can still call the thing that was pulled from the rubble alive.

This is their story. The story of how they became the monster. The story of how they became the villain of the peace. And the story of the terrible tragedy that would befall them.
