Let's save the special education class
THIS IS AN EQG STORY
You were just taking a stroll around in Canterlot City. Trying to kill some time before you meet up with your friends at the Cheesy Goodness, a sports bar so they can introduce you to someone.
You were not sure who you were going to meet but you could only assume that they might be nice and completely harmless.
You were going to meet them at 5:30 pm since you guys were planning to hang out at the bar there along with the new person.
You checked your watch to see that you’d better head to the bar so you’d get there before your friends.
You walk into the bar and sit down at a table, glancing around you see dozens of patrons, you're definitely going to be waiting a while for some service.
The girls always loved the tavern aesthetic all except rarity, who always tried to get them to do a modern decor instead.
Wooden tables and rustic lights but the most impressive of all was a skull that looked just like a dragon, Twilight said she got it from a place called equestria it definitely got people talking about this place.
Checking your phone you see you only have 18 minutes before your friends arrive.
The sounds of laughing come from behind you and you glance over as a woman in a red and black fantasy worlds Wizard costume standing on a table yelling waving a long Wand of sorts.
“And then I yelled Ex-Plosion!!!”
One of the waiters rushed past your table to get the woman down from there.
You chuckle to yourself at the antics of the obviously drunken woman, before getting a tap on your shoulder.
Turning you see the bar's owner Storm Wind with a menu, smiling as always.
Wearing her trademarked tavern keepers uniform her black hair flows down her back like a river.
Saying with an enthusiastic tone she yells almost, as the sounds of a brawl echo behind you, grow.
“So we've got some brand new items on the menu, the adventurers feast, mages lunch, and dragon's breath nacos, as well as…..” None of those sound good to you, so you decide to go with the usual.
“9 cheesy goodness feasts please”
Storm wind rolls her eyes, clearly annoyed at your response.
“Can you ever try anything else, you've been coming here for 3 years now and haven't touched anything else.”
“Thanks storm”
She writes it down before muttering under her breath.
“One of these days i'm going to force you to try my nacos.”
You chuckle before asking.
“What was that.”
Her smile comes back as she runs off back into the kitchen.
“Nothing got to go.”
Behind you the screaming grows, Glancing behind you, you see two men holding back the red wizard before, and another woman who is also wearing a wizard outfit but blue.
The blue wizard yells at the red one.
“I demand you unhand the great and powerful Trixie.”
The red one fires back.
“Let me at the stupid blue wizard, no one insults my costume.”
The one named Trixie yells at the top of her lungs.
“It ain't my fault your costume screams virgin.”
The red wizard slips under the arms of the man holding her and tackles Trixie to the ground.
“Why you, little I’ll send you to tartarus.”
The red wizard wraps her hands around Trixie's throat as the two men try to break them apart.
Trixie began to scream getting the attention of everyone in the bar. Standing up you walk over to break it up but another man pushes past you and yells at the two
“Robin, get off of her right now.”
Robin jumps off trixie at the tone of the man's voice before yelling at him pointing at Trixie.
“But winter she started it.”
Winter helped Trixie up before yelling so loud that it hurt my ears.
“I dont give a damn robin, now pull yourself together because we're going home.”
Robin lowers her head before stumbling out of the door as winter grabs Robin's staff.
Trixie walks up to him and whispers something before he leaves.
The sound of clattering dishes turned your attention away from the scene you been watching for the past few minutes.
Storm wind places 9 plates at the table, and another waiter puts our beers next to each plate.
Storm looks at you with a curious look.
“So who's the extra plate for.”
You grin before saying.
“Wouldn't you like to know.”
She sighs before walking off. “Suit yourself, don't forget to tip.”
Just then you saw your friends come into the bar you waved them over to your table, with Rainbow being the first to sit down.
"So how are you?" You asked Twilight who was standing next to a man who had a black shirt on and you notice his eyes are not focusing on you.
"I'm ok, I just have to keep my eye on Steve, so he doesn't wander off," Twilight answered. You look to the man at Twilight's side, you want to ask what is wrong with him, but you decide against it.
Twilight notices you look confused.
"Do you want to ask him something?" Twilight asked.
"You don't have to be afraid of Steve." Fluttershy said when she saw you were hesitant to ask your questions that were going around in your head.
You took a deep breath and relaxed.
"So what is wrong with him?" You ask a little hesitantly, even though you know that if your mom were here she would not approve of the way you asked the question.
"Well, Steve is blind and has severe autism, so he might not understand some things, and he likes to repeat what others have said to him!" Rainbow said to you.
"Ah now I understand why he was not looking at me!" You said.
You noticed that Steve had sat down and started rocking back and forth.
"Hey Steve, are you ok?" You ask him.
"Steve are you ok?" Steve repeated.
"I don't understand, why does he do that?" You asked a little annoyed by Steve.
"He does that because he wants to communicate but can't use his own words so he uses the words of other people!" Pinkie said as she appeared out of nowhere.
"Ok but Pinkie you have to stop appearing out of nowhere to say random things that no one really cares about!" You yell.
Steve covers his ears.
"Too loud!!" Steve yells.
You just sit there and drink your beer.
“Sorry.” You said.
“Sorry,” Steve repeats your words once again. You were still a little bit annoyed by the whole him repeating your words.
“So… what do you like to do?” You ask as Steve lifts his shoulders, putting on a ‘I don’t know’ gesture.
“What do you like to do?” Steve repeated.
“I… wanna drink?” You asked.
“Wanna drink?” You just took that as a yes as you ask the bartender for a small drink. The bartender gets a glass cup and fills it up with a drink and passes it over to him.
“So how do I communicate with him again?” You ask.
“You just talk to him as though you were talking to one of us.” Sunset said as she got her own drink from the bar.
“Well that's easy,” you say as you take a sip of your beer.
Steve almost micmiced you taking a sip before coughing it up with a disgusted look on his face.
Instinctively you chuckle to yourself which he takes as you laugh at him.
He turns away with tears beginning to form in his eyes.
You reached out as you say “hey i didn't mean it”
"Didn't mean it," Steve said.
“No really, I just thought it was funny,” you explained.
“Funny,” Steve says as he wipes away his tears and you took another sip of your beer. Before you knew it you accidentally sniffed the beer up your nose and you instantly reacted as your nose got rid of the alcohol and burned inside your nostrils. Steve chuckled at what just happened.
“See?... Funny,” you said as you turned little red from the drink that shot out your nose.
“Funny,” Steve repeated. Both of you laughed at the funny moment you two had together.
Time would soon pass a bit as you got to know Steve for a chance. As soon it got a little bit late you all decided to call it a night then head to your homes. Since you didn’t come to the bar with your car, and neither did Steve, Twilight offered to drive you and Steve home.
All the girls got into their cars and you and Steve got into the backseat of Twilight's purple Rolls Royce, followed by Twilight and as you looked out the window you could see that Pinkie and Rarity also had Ferrari F8 Tributo that were pink and white respectively.
Rainbow had a Blue Ford Mustang with flames painted on the side. Steve begins laughing before saying “silly silly silly”
You start laughing as well “what is so silly, Steve?”
“What is so silly, Steve?” He repeated as he pointed out the window at Rainbow’s car.
“Oh yeah, I guess it is kinda silly!” You said.
The next morning, Twilight came into your room that she had prepared the night before.
"Hey, sleepyhead it's time to get up, we have a lot of things to do today!" Twilight said as she pulled the covers off of you.
You sat up and looked around the room, you noticed that the room was filled with party supplies, you quickly realize that the room you are in is Pinkie's room.
Twilight leaves you to get dressed, as she doesn't want to make you feel uncomfortable.
Last night when you got home you had found some mints on your pillow which Pinkie had left you, you really appreciated that Pinkie would do that, but you wondered where she got the mints from, but you didn’t question it.
Once you were dressed you made your way downstairs and then you came upon the dining room, you looked inside, hoping to find Twilight or one of the others, but all you saw was a long table with all sorts of food on it, there were sausage rolls, bread, liverwurst, and a lot of other foods that you didn't recognize.
As you went inside, you saw that Steve had come into the dining room and was helping himself to some of the food.
"Hey, Steve!" You called, not realizing that your voice had echoed off of the dining room's indoor roof, you wondered why the dining room even had a random roof, but like with everything else you didn't question it.
"Too loud!" Steve yelled so loud that Twilight came running from the next room.
"What happened?" Twilight asked you.
"Well I just wanted to say hi to Steve, but I didn't realize that I was so loud!" You said, sitting on the floor.
"It's ok, right Steve?" Twilight asked.
"It's ok!" Steve repeated over and over again.
"Yeah, there is no need to be upset." Twilight comforted Steve.
"There is no need to be upset." Steve said as he sat down at the table.
You sat down and grabbed some eggs and bacon and bread, then you started to eat. "Wow, Twilight you really know how to cook!" You said with your mouth half full.
"Well that's true, but I had a little help, right Steve?" Twilight said getting her own plate of food and sat down as well.
Steve nodded in understanding.
“So what are we going to do after breakfast?” You asked.
"We are going to go back to school!" Twilight said as she went into the kitchen to clean up. You wondered why Twilight and her friends wanted to go back to school as you got up and walked into the kitchen to help Twilight.
“What do you mean?” You ask.
“There’s been rumors of former Principal Cinch trying to get rid of the special education class,” she explained.
“Wait what?.... she can’t do that can she?”
“All that matters is that we have to stop that from happening,” she says as you and Twilight wash the dishes. It only took 5 minutes or so before you guys were done.
"Thanks for helping!" Twilight said when you were done with the last plate and put it away.
“You're welcome I'm always happy to help!" You said with a smile.
"Well let's get back, we don't want the others to leave without us." Twilight said as she walked back into the dining room, as you followed her you were thinking about how cute she looked.
"Well guys, it looks like we have a special education class to save, let's do this!" Twilight said as she ran out to her car and got in and started the engine.
"Oh yeah!" Rainbow yelled out as she got in her car and made the engine cry out loud.
"Let's get going!" Pinkie yelled as she got in her car and started the engine.
You and Steve got in Twilight's car and drove off in the direction of the school.
You, Steve and Twilight have arrived at CHS. As the three of you reach up to the student parking lot you see the other girls roll up into the area as well as they also park in their spots.
“Well let's go inside.” Twilight said as she got out of the car, and opened the back door to let you and Steve out of the car, then she walked inside the school, you and Steve followed her inside. The six other girls in your friend group followed as well.
“So what are we gonna do once we get there?” you asked.
“Once we get there,” Steve repeated.
“Well what else? We need to persuade them to keep that special education,” Pinkie says.
All of you head towards Principal Celestia’s office to see what’s going on and to see if you guys can save the special education class within the school districts.
As the 9 of you arrive at the office Twilight knocks on the door and waits until Principal Celestia answers and invites them in.
“Hello everyone, I’m guessing you came here about the special education class,” she says.
“How did you…”
“I heard as soon as the rumors started to break out,” Celestia cuts you off.
“Well is it true that Cinch is trying to get rid of this program class or something,” you asked as your Principal gave a concerned face.
“Yes it’s true. I had more skeptical feelings of it myself until there was full confirmation.
The special education program is gonna be shut down.
Apparently cutting this specific program saves up on the budget on certain schools in the district, I’m afraid that there’s nothing we can do about it,” she explains.
“There’s gotta be some way to keep the program open,” Applejack says.
“How about a school fundraiser?” You suggested.
“I suppose that could be possible if we’re able to raise the money up to 300 dollars in 3 days,” Principal Celestia explains.
“That’s insane,” Rainbow says. “I’m in.”
“Me too,” says Pinkie Pie.
“Ditto.” you said, as you looked over at Steve who was just sitting there rocking back and forth blissfully unaware of what you and the others were talking about.
Steve could hear your voice saying something but he couldn’t understand what you were saying about him.
