Anon-A-Miss: The Love Of A Family
Bedtime Story: Chapter 4.
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe evening had rolled around, and Sunset was getting ready for bed, she had just brushed her teeth and got changed into her pajamas for the night.
She climbed into her bed and curled into it tiredly, hoping Celestia would come and tuck her in. And maybe read her a bedtime story.
Bad Sunset! Bad! I can't think like that. I'm not a child! Sunset mentally scolded herself, trying to dissuade herself from thinking childish thoughts about Celestia, her new adoptive mother.
Why had she begun to feel so young and childish around her mom? Did Celestia find it weird? All those worrying thoughts caused Sunset to sob slightly into her pillow as she hiccuped and sniffled.
Celestia entered her daughter's room, and heard Sunset's sobbing. Out of her maternal instincts she walked over to the girl and held her in her arms to calm her down. Trying to soothe the bacon-haired teen as she hummed a soft melody and ran her hand through the teen's hair, causing Sunset to blush and cuddle deeper into her mother's arms. Enjoying the feeling of her mother holding her and stroking her hair reassuringly. It made her feel safe and a tad childish.
"What are you doing?" Sunset asked embarrassed as her cheeks flushed a crimson red, the childish feelings of love soaring in her heart.
"I'm calming you down, sweetheart. You were upset and so I calmed you down." Celestia simply replied as she planted a soft kiss on the girl's forehead gently.
Sunset softly yawned as she snuggled into her mother, not wanting to leave her embrace.
"Do you think I'm weird for calling you and Discord mommy and daddy?" Sunset asked fearfully, looking away in shame.
"No of course not honey. I don't think it's weird. You've been alone for such a long time and you've never had a proper loving, caring and supportive family. All of those feelings are new to you, and you want to express them in a way that makes you feel safe and comfortable." Celestia replied, holding the girl tighter in her arms. She loved Sunset deeply, her sweet, precious little sunflower.
"So can I call you that then? I-If you'd be comfortable with that?" Sunset asked hopefully, a childlike joy beginning to fill her.
"If you would like to call me that, then you may. I don't see a problem with it sweetie." Celestia reassured as Sunset gave her a happy and sleepy smile.
"Would you mind reading to me?" Sunset asked nervously, asking her mother for a bedtime story made her feel scared, nervous and excited all in one.
"Would you like that Sunset? For me to read you a bedtime story?" Celestia asked in a soft and gentle motherly voice, bringing more childlike feelings out of Sunset.
"Yes please!" Sunset begged, hugging her mother tightly as she smilled with pure joy.
Celestia carefully pried Sunset off of her and went to find a book that she could read to Sunset to help her sleep.
The alabaster-skinned woman returned to Sunset's room and tucked the bacon-haired teen in cozily and snug, watching as the girl's eyes fluttered in a failing attempt to stay awake.
Celestia opened the book and began to read to the sleepy teen, watching as Sunset fell asleep halfway through the story.
Celestia smiled and kissed Sunset goodnight, closing the book as she left the room, closing the door to allow Sunset a peaceful sleep.
"Sweet dreams. Sleep tight." Celestia cooed to the sleeping girl as she chuckled and headed to her own room to sleep.
Author's Note
This chapter randomly came to me as an idea to show how far Celestia is willing to go as Sunset's new and adoptive mother.
