The Pony Queen

Young Twilight saw as the sun rises and uses her little wings to fly to Shining Armor and Cadence’s room, she then begged Shining Armor to wake up and that he did.

Shining Armor then showed Twilight the balcony of the castle.

“Look Twily everything the light touches is our kingdom.” Shining Armor presented.

“Wow.” Twilight said in awe of the majesty of the kingdom.

“Everything the light touches, what about that shadowy place?” Twilight asked curiously looking in the shadows.

“That is beyond our borders daughter, you must never go there.” Shining Armor lectures softly.

“But I thought being a ruler means you could do whatever you want.” Twilight said bashfully.

“Well there’s more to being ruler then getting your way all the time.” Shining Armor explained.

“There’s more?” Twilight asked excitedly.

“Oh yes there is.” Shining Armor said.

Shining Armor then showed Twilight around Canterlot “You see Twilight here we are at Canterlot a ruler must provide for her subjects and listen to them when needed.”

“Wow.” Twilight said in awe before Spike flew in bowing.

“Good morning sire.” Spike said happily.

“Good morning Spike.” Shining Armor greeted his trusted advisor.

“Checking in with the morning report.” Spike announced.

“Fire away.” Shining Armor then said.

Shining Armor and Twilight listened to Spike’s report when a cyan Pegasus showed up.

“Shining Armor news from the Wonderbolts, the changelings are attacking.” The cyan Pegasus reported.

“Gah not again, thank you Rainbow Dash I shall deal with them immediately.” Shining Armor said running off.

“Aw Dad can I come too?” Twilight begged wanting to join her father.

“No Twilight just go with Spike to the castle.” Shining Armor instructed.

“I never get to go anywhere.” Twilight complained upset she wasn’t allowed to go with Shining Armor.

“Oh don’t be sad Twilight, one day you’ll be the queen than you can go chase those beasts, I don’t know how Thorax and Pharynx dealt with them.” Spike said.

You see Thorax and Pharynx were redeemed changelings Spike befriended back before the changelings first invaded they then helped Spike fend off the changelings when they attacked the Crystal Empire.

Twilight then went to see her favorite uncle. Twilight knocked the door enthusiastically.

Sombra then opened up the door and Twilight embraces the dark unicorn.

“Hey Uncle Sombra guess what?” Twilight asked happily.

“I despise guessing games.” Sombra told Twilight angrily.

“I’m gonna be queen of Equestria.” Twilight said with glee.

“Oh goody.” Sombra said sarcastically.

“My dad showed me the whole kingdom and I’m gonna duke it all, hehe.” Twilight bragged spreading her hooves to point at the castle.

“Yes well forgive me for not leaping with joy, bad back and all that.” Sombra pretended to smile walking to Twilight.

“Hey Uncle Sombra, when I’m king what will that make you?” Twilight asked curiously.

“A monkey’s uncle.” Sombra rolled his eyes with a smirk.

“Pfft you’re so weird.” Twilight giggles a bit.

“You have no idea so you’re father showed you the whole kingdom?” Sombra asked walking inside with Twilight on his back.

“Everything.” Twilight said excitedly.

“He didn’t show you what’s beyond our borders?” Sombra asked feigning curiousness as he knew the answer.

“Well no he said I can’t go there.” Twilight said in disappointment.

“And he’s absolutely right it’s far too dangerous only the bravest ponies go to the Outlands-oops.” Sombra pretended to gasp.

“The Out what? Woah.” Twilight said in awe.

“Oh dear I’ve said too much.” Sombra said dramatically “You’re so clever little one but promise me you will never go to that dreadful place.”

“No problem.” Twilght lies enthusiastically.

“There’s a good lad you run along now and have fun.” Sombra said shooting off Twilight who ran off excitedly.

Sombra smirked he knew that Twilight would go anyway but that is exactly what he planned.
