Family Status

“And that is another subject done for the day, now to have something in my stomach.” You said putting away your pocket notebook as you begin to walk through the crowded halls of Canterlot High.

You entered through the doors of the cafeteria and your focus right away is falling in line. It didn’t take that long it is now your turn as you grabbed your food tray. You were greeted by the lunch lady, Granny Smith, Applejack’s grandmother.

“Well, if it ain’t Mr. Onyx Steel. Ah remember yer request the other day to make you a delicious apple pie. Hold up le me just grab it in the kitchen, don’t want it to be mistaken to be in the menu.” Granny Smith then walks back into the kitchen. On the other hand, you ordered two club house sandwiches for a reason and a small carton of milk. Then the Apple elder came out and on two saucers each is a slice of their family’s apple pie. “Here ya go. The rest of it is in the kitchen and I made an extra pie since I know one ain’t enough. Just drop by and pick em up later before ye head home.”

“Eeyup,” You snort now speaking like AJ’s big brother.

After placing the two slices of apple pie on your food tray, you ten took out your wallet to pay for your orders and also for the pies you requested. Granny Smith took your payment but not for the pies which is on the house, but you insisted to let her keep the remaining change as you took your food tray and find an available table.

“Onyx darling, over here!” You recognize that voice and turned to see Rarity waving to get your attention to seat with her and your other friends. You took a seat next to her, also with you two are Pinkie, Sunset and three other boys who are close friends with them, two of them are Ardee and Frostbite. “Two club house sandwiches and two apple pies, I don’t believe that those are all for yourself?”

“Nope, one of each I’ll save for Applejack since she will be joining us and they are paid for already.” You said as you punch a straw to the milk carton.

“Such a gentleman, just like when me and Applejack first met you at kindergarten.” Rarity said taking a sip from her drink.

It all started when the three of you first met at kindergarten. Even though admittingly from a wealthy family who are owners and co-owners of some hotels and resorts, you are not the snobby type but the one who treats others as equals which you inherit from your parents.

When you first met Rarity and Applejack, as you expect Rarity wants to make a perfect appearance and for AJ a type of person who is dependable. You didn’t even realize but you mistook her as a boy at first and mostly the one you’re close to. Before you three went to elementary you will be studying in a different school separated from Rarity and Applejack. The three of you made a promise that the three of you will meet again someday.

Few years later, it is now your first day at Canterlot High as a freshman. You were accompanied at the freshman fair by Big B, a bald and burly man wearing black pants, a gray shirt and sunglasses aka your personal bodyguard. To make the story short after he did dome bad deed to you and your family, you offered a deal that any charges to him will be lift as long as he works for your family as your bodyguard which he agrees than staying behind bars.

You were walking through the booths checking if there is a club you’re interested to join. You approach a booth which says drama club, since you have second thoughts you decided to check the others. You are about to reach for a flier before leaving until another hand touches yours.

“Oh goodness, I do apologize you go-wait, Onyx is that you darling?”

When you met eyes, the person who you recognize that accent and those words in front is none other than Rarity. Last time you saw was a cute and adorable now she developed into one gorgeous lady.

“Rarity?” You guess.

“Onyx Steel it really is you.” Rarity then pulls you in for a hug all of a sudden trapping your arms in her embrace as looks at you. “It’s been since kindergarten and you still remember me how are you doing?”

“Fine, but first.” You said as your eyes move to the left.

Rarity follows where your eyes are pointing and sees that she may got the attention of other students and are giving odd looks. Rarity quickly breaks the hug sheepishly laughing and blushing while playing with her fingers.

“So you remember me.”

“Of course, last time I saw you and now...” You begin to look at how much Rarity develop and obviously she will keep herself perfect no matter where she goes.

“Ahem, you do know its impolite to stare at a lady’s body.” Rarity clears her throat getting breaking your observation. “Back to the topic, I cannot believe you will also be studying here at Canterlot High. Oh, Applejack will also be excited to see you.”

“Rarity, there ya’ll are.” You easily recognize that western accent anywhere. “Onyx is that you.”

Just as you turned to the direction while also holding some fliers from other booths, you see your other childhood friend Applejack with her big brother who you also recognized, Big Macintosh. But you weren’t expecting to see, uhh.

“Well, all be. It is you Onyx Steel. Been a while since we last seen each other, how ya doing?” You just stood there still can’t believe what you’re seeing. Not as much as Rarity but she does now have one sexy hour glass, this gave you an idea to play a joke on her. “Hate to break your observation sugarcube, but it’s very rude if you just stare me like that.”

“Oh that, s-sorry.” You stutter then look away from her. “It just brings back memories on how me and Rarity mistook you for a boy at first. I was thinking the same thing just now on why you are cross-dressing or even having plastic surgery (gesturing on her chest area). But still I am also happy to see you again and never expect to see your developme-” When you face her, you bean regretting what you just said.

While crumpling the fliers in her left hand and bawling up her right fist you see her cheeks were red showing all signs of embarrassment and that anger in her eyes is the worst part. You also see Big Mac trying to hold his laughter while Rarity pinches the bridge of her nose.

“Applejack I know you are a girl all along! Its just a-”

“You damn varmint!” Applejack pulls you in and had you in a cobra twist. “Ah’ve been lady since I was born and that is most terrible joke Ah’ve ever heard. Now apologize!”

“I am, I am apologizing already. You are the one not letting go!”

“Uhh boss, should I prepare an ice pack?” Big B asks just watching the two of you.

“What kind of question is that? Help me please before-!”

(CRRAAAACK!)

“OOOOUCCCH!”

After that bittersweet reunion and a number of apologies, Applejack forgave you. Time passed and you grew a liking to her on how hard-working she is for her family and the same family-oriented lass even when she was a child. Your parents began to wonder about your crush with Applejack, being under a rich family and she works at an apple farm. You shoo them away about your liking to her but in exchange you will also help with the family business. But even though Applejack never tells a lie, there are secrets she keeps from her friends, especially from you.

“I don’t want to recall that anymore.” You said until those thoughts were interrupted when you felt something cold touch your cheek. You see that Applejack is already here while holding a bottle of fizzy apple cider.

“Sorry to keep yer waiting, sugarcube.” Applejack taking a seat beside you.

“Don’t worry you didn’t. The other clubhouse sandwich and slice of apple pie are yours and I paid for those already.”

“Aww shucks you shouldn’t have.” She said while removing the wrapper from the sandwich. “You were dozing off all of a sudden, remembering somethin?”

“Yeah. That bottle of apple cider, it brings back memories. There was a time when the three of us mistook a bottle of hard apple cider for apple juice and your parents caught us just before we could take a sip.” You stated earning a giggle from both your childhood friends. “And then there was when you did a cobra twist on me during Freshman Fair, so let’s better not remember that.”

“Wait, what did happen?” Sunset joins in the conversation.

“Do you really want to know darling?” Rarity offers her hand to allow Sunset to read her mind.

Without any second thoughts Sunset places her hand on Rarity’s. After a while of reading her thoughts of what happened, Sunset lets go of Rarity’s hand and snorts then all of a sudden burst out laughing.

“Oh sweet-mother of Celestia! Onyx it’s very obvious that Applejack is a girl not a boy. That joke of yours was terrible you really did deserve that cobra twist.”

You and AJ awkwardly laugh while looking away from each other trying to forget that memory. Applejack then quickly changes the topic before Sunset starts rolling over the floor while laughing.

“I saw Ms. Cherilee earlier and her hand was bandaged. Something to do with your Frostbite, did something happen?” Applejack said making all of you revert your attention to him.

“Oh that, you see...”

After Frostbite’s narration on him dreaming and mistaking Ms. Cherilee’s hand for a flying popsicle the day just went by. Before leaving Canterlot High you drop by the cafeteria and picked up the two apple pies Granny Smith boxed up for you. You exit the doors of CHS to be greeted by Big B waiting by your ride (SUV). As you’re ordering your bodyguard to drop the pies back at the hotel, you see Applejack exiting CHS through the doors near the parking lot.

“Hey AJ!” You called out as you approach her. “Need any help back at the apple farm?”

“Nothin right now. But Ah'll call give you a call if we need the extra hand.” Applejack said as she slings her bag on her shoulder. “Well I’ll see ya tomorrow.” She sprinted towards their family’s truck with the other members of the Apple family waiting.

Since it’s still daytime, you got in to your ride as your bodyguard started the engine and both of you drove off back to the hotel. Without you knowing, Applejack was actually waiting for you to leave. The other members of the Apple family notice that something is bothering AJ. Back at their place they decided to check.

“Sis, is something wrong?” Apple Bloom asked but her sister never respond.

“Is it still because of him being from a wealthy family and he normally goes here to help?” Granny Smith guessed making her granddaughter sigh in defeat.

“Eeyup, ah really appreciate him helpin around and supporting our family. But I was wondering if whenever Ah ask him to come, if we are being unfair to his folks.” Applejack stated. “He did say in exchange that he will still help with his family business on running the hotel. He also said that he will push them aside if they start judging our friendship. That makes me worry.”

“Now, now dear. Onyx has been your childhood friend before he and his family left just as you and yer best friend Rarity went to elementary. Now he reunited with us during your freshman year and here you are right now still as his best friend. Give the youngster a chance.” The apple elder stated.

“Thanks for the words of encouragement Granny.”

On the other hand, back at the hotel. Your bodyguard parked your ride at the parking lot. The two of you entered your so-called home, bustling with guests and the work staff. You were greeted by the staff, obviously for being the heir of the owners as you and your bodyguard entered the elevator. After patiently waiting and listening to elevator music the two of you arrive at the floor where your room is at got out of the elevator.

At your room

“Hmmm, this pie is delicious as always boss.” Your bodyguard took a bite at a slice from the pie.

“Yep, as always.” You said as you place your saucer in the sink. “We check with the manager on today’s report, once you are done just put the rest of the pie in the fridge. The other pie is for you and the other bodyguards. I will request for more next time when I have the chance. I will be waiting in the living room when you are done.”

“Oh sweet, thanks boss!”

You just rolled your eyes to the previous man who commits crime before, now he is your body guard as you waited for him.

A Test of Trust & Durability Part 1

It’s another beautiful and sunny day at Canterlot High. After your ride is parked you got out and begin to stretch your arms. You weren’t paying attention that something is flying and heading towards you and before you could realize, it hit you straight in the face as you fell backwards.

“Oh my God, I am so sorry about that!” A female student from the Wondercolts soccer team approaches you.

“Boss, are you alright!?” Big B panicked.

Normally when something like this happens like a soccer ball hitting you in the face, you are supposed to feel pain but only this time it’s the opposite.

“To be honest you guys, I am.” You said rubbing your face but felt no pain which feels strange.

You were help back to your feet as in you stood up like you weren’t hurt in the first place. After earning her apology, you are heading towards the entrance doors near the parking lot. You are moving backwards while saying goodbye to your bodyguard and unexpectedly you were hit from the side by something even harder.

“Onyx!” Applejack quickly got out of the truck followed by the other members of the Apple family.

“Onyx I am so, so sorry about that. It was an accident, are you alright?” Big Mac said in a worried and panic tone as Apple Bloom and Granny Smith are worried also.

“Yeah.” Applejack helped you back to your feet, again. You rub your side but just like a little while, you felt nothing. “Still strange, I got hit by a soccer ball now by a truck and I still don’t feel any pain.”

“Wait, what?” Applejack said but she quickly shook her head. “Ya know it's better if we get you to the clinic and have you check by Nurse Redheart.”

“But-”

“No buts sugarcube.” Applejack guides you back into the building followed by your bodyguard and the others.

At the school clinic

“Onyx, does it hurt when I do this?” Nurse Redheart asked as she gently applies a little pressure on the side where you got hit as she continues to diagnose you to check on any signs of pain.

“No,” You said.

“Is he alright Nurse Redheart?” Applejack said while the rest waited outside.

“Apparently yes.” She said as she observes you standing up like you didn’t felt any signs. “Onyx, just make sure you be careful next time, okay?”

“Okay.”

You and Applejack left the clinic with the others relieved that you are okay. After your bodyguard left the building, you and Applejack went to your perspective classes as Granny Smith went straight to the cafeteria.

Throughout the day, you still wondered about earlier. Then you and Applejack heard that Pinkie fell on top of Frostbite then the two of them fell down the stairs after that. The two of you are relieve that neither of them is badly hurt but Principal Celestia ordered Discord to her office.

At the school cafeteria while they are getting their meals, you already got yours and had occupied a vacant table waiting for Applejack and the others. You planned on doing something risky while you are still alone on the table. You turned around to see Applejack and your friends still getting their lunch and the other students are just minding their own business.

You took a hold of your fork in your right hand as you spread your left hand in front of you on the table. You checked your surroundings again and still no one is looking.

“That cannot be possible. Any person should feel pain, odd about what happened earlier. What if...” You thought as you slowly raised your right hand.

“Onyx, what are you doing?” You quickly turned to see Applejack and your friends arrive at the table as you slowly lowered your right hand. Applejack easily sees what you were up to. “Just because ya got hit twice in a row earlier doesn’t mean your invincible.”

“Wait a minute, what did you say darling?” Rarity asked as she placed her food tray on the table followed by Applejack and the rest.

After you retold on getting hit by a soccer ball to your face then getting hit by Applejack’s family truck, all of your friends were astonished on how you not at the school clinic and here at the cafeteria.

“Normally it will depend on your body and on the cause of impact. But getting hit by a soccer ball then by a truck, now that is just unbelievable.” Twilight stated as she presses on your middle.

“Well, all Ah can say this was all just dumb luck." Applejack then turns her attention back to you. "Ah just don’t want you to do anything as stupid as this, got it?”

“But...” Until Applejack interrupts you.

“Is that clear?!”

“Okay.” Those are the only words you said to avoid making your friends even more worried.

You let things slide but after your remaining classes, you went to the home-economics classroom, alone. Without even noticing earlier during lunch, after Applejack looks away for a bit and your other friends are doing their stuff, you quickly snuck your fork away in your bag.

You locked up the door and went to a spot out of sight where no one can see you through the looking glass. After placing your bag on an available booth station, you search inside and took out the fork.

At first, it's obviously common sense that people can feel pain. But in your case its curiosity that buzzes in your mind right now and the words ‘what if” even though your best friend’s words earlier. You place your left hand on the counter and raise your right hand with the fork in it. With one deep breath, you swiftly stabbed your left hand. Since your eyes are closed, you’re imagining blood oozing out and it went in.

Just like at the parking lot and still strange, you felt nothing. You begin to slowly open one eye and after peeking for a bit, both of them immediately went wide. The points of the fork didn’t even go through the skin they just bended instead. It took a while for you to process this in your head. Originally, it’s supposed to tell Applejack about this but you were thinking a different route on going further to test if you can endure pain.

You immediately picked up your bag and head straight to the door. As you turned the knob, you were immediately greeted by a familiar face startling you in the process.

“Hey Onyx.” Apple Bloom greeted you.

“A-Apple Bloom what are you doing here!?” You said in a panic tone.

“I was just passin by.”

“Oh right, well I’ll see you later.” You left in a hurry making the youngest of the Apple family tilt her head about your sudden reaction.

Apple Bloom went inside the home-ec classroom and begins to wonder. Then she notices something on one of the booths. She checks to see a fork laying there but its points were bended somehow.

The next day after one of your classes, you are waiting at the back of CHS, a secluded part for some people that you need their assistance. It wasn’t that long, your so-called clients who you were waiting for have arrived were none other than the Diamond Dogs.

“Here’s the money, just like we talked about.” You handed Rover the money you agreed on.

“Okay?” Rover said still doubting on your motives as he kept it in his pocket.

“So, we brought brass knuckles; a cinder block; a shovel; and you want us to hit you with these?” Spot said.

“Right.”

“I know we look intimidating but we aren’t criminals. Do you still want us to do this?” Fido added.

“Don’t worry. I assure you three will NOT be expelled from Canterlot High nor go to jail after this.”

The three talked this between each other before starting with your plan and made the agreement. With that you started with Rover as he places the brass knuckles in his fingers. You stood still as he positions himself. He gave you one hell of a knuckle sandwich to the face making you fall to the ground. But after a short while you stood up making the three boys shocked on your quick recover.

After jotting what happened on your pocket notebook, you stood underneath a tree as Spot positions himself on a branch while Fido hands him the cinder block. You gave a thumbs up giving the go signal as Spot drops the cinder block on your head. You bend a little after the impact on your head but same as with Rover, you stood up straight as you rub the top of your head like it didn’t hurt, literally.

Last is Fido as he holds the shovel in his hands. He is ready to swing it right at you until your phone began to ring. You told him to wait for a bit as you check to see who it was, which is none other than Applejack.

“Hello, AJ?” You answered your phone. And gestured the three to not make any noise.

“Hey Onyx, where ya’ll are? Me and mah friends are waiting in front of the school,” Applejack said on the other line. “Maybe you want to hang out with us, we are going to Sugarcube Corner.”

“Oh okay. I will be right there just wait for me.” You said as you ended your call and placed the phone in your pocket. Then you gave the last member of the Diamond Dogs the go signal. “Okay, Now!”

(CLANK!)

Just nearby at the bleachers, Apple Bloom is hanging out with her friends Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. She then sees you coming out from the secluded area. Just as she was about to get your attention, Apple Bloom sees the Diamond Dogs were just behind you as one of them carries a shovel, brass knuckles and a cinder block. After hand shaking Rover you and the three went your separate ways.

“Is something the matter Apple Bloom?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“Huh, wonder why Onyx would be hanging out with them?” Apple Bloom wonders as the three are passing by this way. “Hey!”

“Yes, what do you want kid?” Rover said in a bad boy tone.

“That guy, the one who was just with you three earlier-” Before Apple Bloom could finish the three looked at each other then back at her only with shocked expressions.

“Oh, him? You wouldn’t believe what he made us do.”

The Diamond Dogs explained everything that you requested them to do to you. After that the three left Apple Bloom and her friends at the bleachers.

“Uh, Apple Bloom are you okay?” Scootaloo asked her friend while waving her hand in front of her who is just spacing out.

She begins to doubt since you were acting strange since yesterday and will know what you have been keeping a secret from her and Applejack.

A Test of Trust & Durability Part 2

The next day Apple Bloom followed you without you even knowing from Canterlot High to what it looks like, the Canterlot Day Spa. She wonders because the hotel where you live already has a spa there. She went inside and sat at one of the couches in visitor's lobby and pretends to read a magazine not to reveal herself.

“How painful is this going to be?” You asked.

“Normally Mr. Steel if this is your first time, it will.” Aloe stated as the last strip was applied.

“Well, no backing out now.” You cling on to the pedicure chair as Bulk Biceps grabbed both the strips ready to pull.

“Okay on three. One...two...THREE!” After he quickly pulled both strips, your pupils immediately shrunk and regret it. Your scream was heard within the entire vicinity. Minutes passed and you came out from the back assisted by Aloe as you stop for a while to rub one of your legs.

“Well, at least I experience the pain, yeesh!” You said as you jotted down some notes on your pocket notebook.

Without even realizing Apple Bloom’s presence you immediately but painfully left the spa. She patiently waited for a while that you will not come back until one of the employees notice and approach her.

“Excuse me, miss?” Lotus Blossom asked. “I notice you’ve been here earlier; do you have any appointments?”

“Uh, n-no.” Apple Bloom stammer. “The man who left earlier he is a friend of mah sister, Applejack. Did ah just hear he did a leg waxing or was there anything else because ah heard screaming?”

“Wait, let me see.” Lotus Blossom approach the desk followed by Apple Bloom and check the binder. “Yes, he did just only leg waxing. It’s normal for a person to experience something like this.”

“Oh okay.” After that Apple Bloom gave her thank you and left the spa, still puzzled on what’s on your mind.

It is now Friday and you are joining Applejack and her friends at Canterlot Mall. Then all of a sudden, your phone began to ring. You answered it to find out Big B was on the other line and you are needed back at the hotel. You told him that they can take care of it, but Applejack...

“I think they need your assistance. Ya’ll better head there sugarcube,” Applejack said.

“You invited me to join you guys. They can handle this.” You said as you drop the call.

“But ah feel bad that you chose to join us than them.” After she sigh for a bit. “It’s okay, go and help them. You can make up for it next time.”

“Well, okay.”

Feeling a bit disappointed you comply to Applejack and headed the opposite direction. You gave Big B another call that you will take a taxi back to the hotel. After calling for a taxi that is passing by you immediately took out your purse. But without noticing you accidentally dropped your pocket notebook as you entered the taxi and left. Your notebook was just left there lying at the sidewalk until someone accompanied by two other familiar faces picks it up.

“Doesn’t that belong to Onyx?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“Yes.” Apple Bloom kept the notebook in her bag.

“Shouldn’t we tell this to him or your sister to return it?” Scootaloo asked.

“Not yet. Ah have a gut feeling that he is hiding something and just need to check this notebook of his then tell mah sister right away. Ah just worried like mah sister since there are somethings, he does without even thinking first.”

Back at the hotel

“Just because one of our guests is your ex-girlfriend, doesn’t mean you will start causing a scene while you’re still on duty.” You, Big B and the manager are scolding one of the employees.

One of the janitors who is cleaning the window from the outside while riding some lift heard a noise and recorded what happened using his phone for eye witness. One of the bell boys tries to make up with one of the guests then started going on the offensive. But Big B was passing by outside and heard the noise making him burst through the door and stopping him.

The three of you watched the video and hear the explanation of the employee and the guest who became the victim. The three of you made a final decision and had him fired. You apologize to the guest but she isn’t mad about the services but about the one who assaulted her and decides to stay. You regret at first but you did the right thing since the employee started this.

It’s about to get dark outside and you’re heading back to your room. Your phone rang and you check to see a message from Applejack. You read it for you to come to Twilight’s house tomorrow and the address is at the bottom for something very important.

The next day, you are at Twilight’s house and told Big B to wait by the car as you head inside. You head upstairs and entered her room to see Applejack and her friends are here. While waiting for the others to arrive Applejack went straight to the point.

“Onyx, I believe this is yours.” Applejack hands over your notebook. She explained that you drop this yesterday and Apple Bloom picked it up You reach out for it but AJ moves her hand away as she gave you a serious look. “Ya’ll do have a lot of explaining what you’ve been doing that’s written here.”

Normally in this scenario a person should be nervous as in the secret they’ve been keeping has been revealed. But in your case...

“I was actually going to tell you. But I got carried away to test it and forgot to tell you, sorry.” You bravely said but felt a little regret.

Scolding from Applejack is what you’re supposed to expect but she just piped down and let Twilight check on you. According to her analysis, your ring (family ring whatever) that got enchanted by Equestrian magic is the reason for your endurance to pain.

“So based on what I found out listed on your notebook and my research you can withstand most of anything that hits, something like being expose to heat or your mind are your vulnerable parts.” Twilight explained the results.

“And I thought he’s enjoying it, making him a masochist.” Rainbow Dash jokingly said but got hit on the head by Applejack.
“Oww, I’m just kidding!”

“Mah friend ain’t a masochist!” Applejack said.

“Uhh, no. There is a huge difference between enduring pain and enjoying getting hurt,” Twilight added.

“Seriously wha would you even do leg waxing, ya’ll obviously know how painful that is?” Applejack shifts her attention back to you.

“What? I was testing if I can endure any kind of pain,” You said. “Besides, Rarity had also experience this.” You guess making the rest of you turn your attention to her.

"It's true through, it does hurt at first. But it does have its benefits, see." Rarity shows of her smooth white legs after she had her legs waxed much to the discomfort of Ardee.

"Okay you can all stop staring now, before I poke each of your eyeballs!" Ardee quickly covered placed Rarity's legs with her bag as you were warning them (the guys).

While Rarity calms her friend down who got ice powers, you just patiently wait until Twilight finishes with her observation on the rest of you boys. Applejack was assigned to you after the meeting. She requests for you to come with her for some apples to be harvested. You told Big B to pick you up later as you jumped in the truck and the two of you drove to her place.

At Sweet Apple Acres, you assisted AJ and Big Mac harvesting on the north side of the orchard. Addition to your durability, Twilight states if you focus more your strength will increase making you mimicking AJ’s powers by 50% only. Picking up the bushel baskets became easy as pie that you didn’t have to hold the handles anymore as you lift them up your shoulders.

It didn’t take that long and the three of you were done. After taking a breather you even get to play fetch with Winona, AJ’s pet dog. You feel that you are becoming a part of their family, but that doesn’t mean you will leave yours. Then Applejack approached you and want to have a one-on-one talk in private. She led you into the barn and locked the doors leaving the two of you, alone inside.

“You need to talk about something?” You asked.

“Right, again thanks for being coming and we do sure appreciate the helping hand. But what Ah really want to talk about is why Ya’ll should have told me about this when you got these powers in the first place.” Her voice increases all of a sudden startling you.

“Well, you did say I was just lucky at first, then my curiosity took over and I forgot to tell you. B-but I didn’t do anything other than what says on my notebook-”

“EVEN THOUGH!” You quickly back away as you think that you made her upset. After a few deep breaths, AJ continued. “Ah mean there are times you act before you think and that what makes me worry.”

Aj does have a point. She and her friends have been through a lot and now here they are dealing with you seven boys each possess a different kind of Equestrian magic. You have no doubt that there is a limit to what a person can learn or discover.

“I’m sorry, really. If it makes you happy, I will be careful and think before acting.”

“Promise.” AJ lifts her hand wants you to pinkie swear.

After one deep breath you gave her a pinkie swear, but addition to that Applejack pulls you in for a hug. You rarely receive a hug like this from her normally you get a hug like this from Rarity. You can almost feel her heart beat since her chest is pressed to yours, but it’s her trust that you gained from her.

You are back at the hotel. Before you could enter your room, it came to your head that you accidentally brought Winona's ball with you. You hand an idea making you and Big B head to the rooftop. By the two of you arrive at the lounge you try to find Applejack's house using a telescope with the help of Big B using a pair of binoculars. The plan is to throw the ball to Sweet Apple Acres from here after you give Applejack a call.

It took a while and you spot Sweet Apple Acres, but spotted another thing. You see a red car with a flatbed trailer attached to it parked in front of the Apple’s house. The one who came out of it were the Flim Flam Brothers. Applejack told you that these two salesmen are a bunch of swindlers that bothers her family.

An idea hatched up inside your head, a nasty one but will benefit Applejack and her family. Your bodyguard also sees them but he became uncomfortable when he sees that evil grin on your face.

“Uhh, boss what are you planning?” Big B asked.

“I need at least three rocks size of a fist; a paper and a pen,” You said as you glance over to whatever is covered at the back of their car. “It’s time to do some baseball.”

Meanwhile back at Sweet Apple Acres, the Apple family are now confronting the two swindlers.

"Yer really like to keep on bothering us, do you?" Applejack sarcastically said.

"Why of course, this is business we are talking about.” Flim said.

“Right you are brother of mine.” Flam said as he turns his head followed by his brother back at flatbed trailer behind their car. “And what we brought is right under that-”

Before he could finish, something at high speed went straight and hit what's covered under the sheet also knocking it off from the trailer. It took a while for them to process which left the Apple family and the Flim Flam brothers eyes wide and mouths opened.

“NO! Our contraption, our beautiful contraption.” Flim said. “What in the world just happened?”

And before his brother responds they heard another smashing sound. The two businessmen check to see that their car window was broken and see inside a piece of rock.

“You know what, I think it’s better if we leave for now!” Flam said in a panic tone.

“Agreed.” Flim then quickly heads back into the car followed by his brother. “We will be back!” But then something hit the garbage cans nearby knocking them over which caught their attention and Applejack’s family.

“On second thought, you won’t see us for a while. NOW DRIVE!” Flim said as his brother stepped on the gas as the two of them left.

"Okay that was weird and they just left this weird thing behind." Applejack said scratching her head at the machine that was damaged.

"Hey sis, look at this." Apple Bloom got her sister's and the others attention as she finds what it looks like a rock wrapped in a piece of paper that is on the machine. She took it out from it and hands it to her sister. Applejack then removes the paper and uncrumples it showing a message saying ‘Bother Applejack and her family again, and I will come for the two of you!’. “Ah wonder who’s this from?” The Apple Bloom turns to her sister and sees a smile on her face.

“Ah think I know and Ah’ll make sure I thank him for helping us.”

Use Your Head Part 1

Back at the hotel you and Big B are laughing your asses off, while observing the Flim and Flam brothers panicking on what happened and left shitless. You then begin wondering about this strength of yours. Twilight did say it’s 50% of Applejack’s strength if you focus more but that doesn’t seem to be the case. You decided to check with Twilight when you and Applejack will meet her at Canterlot High the next day. Before you forget you send a text message to AJ that you will instead bring Winona’s ball on Monday than throwing it back to her from here.

You are at Canterlot High spotting either for Applejack to return Winona’s ball or Twilight to double check her analysis about your powers. It appears that your best friend is the one that showed up first. You see her showing signs of seriousness as she approaches you, either she is just playing with you or you’ll get another scolding.

“Morning sugarcube.” AJ greeted you then she pulls out some paper from her bag showing which is the letter you threw the other day. “Ah got yer message the other day, well it’s actually for the Flim Flam Brothers.”

“I guess you are going to scold me, again.” You said bracing yourself.

“What you did is the most STUPID...WRECKLESS...” You knew it but then Applejack begins to pucker up smiling then starts to laugh. “AND MOST HILARIOUS thing that you ever done. Ah never seen those two skedaddle like a bunch of chickens without even figuring out what’s going on.”

“But you’re still mad, right?”

“Suppose to. But for now, me and mah family really do appreciate the assistance. Oh, Ah just wanna give ya’ll a kiss an-” Applejack then stops as she swallows her words. You did hear that last part she blurted out. “Ah mean again thanks for helping us out, really.”

“It’s no big deal.” You said then you see Twilight coming this way with her friend that she was assigned to you.
You immediately went straight to her still without you knowing that you help Applejack and her family, again. AJ felt even more regret about the more you assisted her family, the more she is in debt with you.

While the other members of the Rainbooms are busy watching the progress of the other boys, after your last class you and AJ followed Twilight back to her place. She re-double check your powers if the super strength you possess is really 50%, and apparently it is. Both of you wonder on Twilight’s analysis until the two of you see any abnormalities on your powers within the week, then find out the results next week.

Within the week there were also events like one of the teachers accidentally spilled their hot coffee on you which your durability didn’t work (good thing the burnt wasn’t that bad), even having some of the guys try their powers on you. When the week came to explain each of your results, just like Twilight’s first analysis there are some elements that your powers cannot endure.

But then you notice that something has been bothering AJ recently. You ask to see what was going on, but she said that everything is fine on her end and you doubt it. Applejack never lies but it looks like she does keep some secrets from you and her friends.

Days passed and still no signs of abnormalities with you and the other boys. Then you decided to give Applejack something in return not just because she and her friends saves the day when Equestrian magic gets involve but also being your best friend since childhood and to confess to her.

You gave her a call and patiently waited. She picked up from the other line and you explained to her about the plans for tomorrow. Applejack said that there was no need for that, you insisted since she deserves it. She didn’t answer for a while then gave her decision that she will be there.

Since you heard that Frostbite is planning also something for Pinkie Pie, back at the hotel you went straight to the kitchen to speak with the head chef, his dad. You judge at first about his father’s gender or that he is just effeminate, but you just let it slip by. You arrive at the kitchen and see him taste testing the food before serving it to the guests.

“Excuse me, I’m here to speak to the chef!” You called out getting his attention.

“Well, well if isn’t Mr. Onyx Steel here at my kitchen.” Frostbite’s dad approach. “So, what does the son of the owners need from me?”

“Your son Frostbite has plans with his friend Pinkie for tomorrow, I want you and/or him to be our chefs for my dinner date with my best friend Applejack. If you're willing and available.”

“Why of course sir and it will be my honor! Don’t you worry, you will be VERY impressed on what we will prepare for the two of you tomorrow.”

“Don’t disappoint me. Pfft, who am I kidding you never disappoint me. I wish the two of you good luck.” You said as you gave him a high five then left the kitchen.

It is now March 8; it took a while for you to prepare even though your date will be later at the evening, you still want to make a good appearance to her. Big B is now driving and the two of you are headed to Canterlot High. You gave her a call that you are on your way but she did not respond.

The two of you see of Canterlot High but the closer you two approach it, something wasn’t right. You have your bodyguard stop the car for a moment and see at the front of Canterlot High are Ardee and Rarity, but Ardee’s condition wasn’t on the good side. His other arm was covered entirely in ice while holding an ice sword and the entrance is blocked by an ice wall.

You’re about to charge since he is confronting one of your childhood friends, but what happened next is that Rarity handled it and calmed Ardee down. After a while she and Ardee went inside Canterlot High after removing the ice wall blocking the entrance. You immediately got out of your car and told your bodyguard to follow once he parks it. You sprint towards the entrance and upon entering catching up with Ardee and Rarity who’re standing in the middle of the hallway.

“Rarity, what’s going on?” You asked as you catch your breath.

“It’s a long story Onyx, darling. Right now, me and Ardee need your assistance on finding Micro Chips and the others boys,” Rarity said.

“Hold on, what’s happening?” You don’t know what’s going on until your bodyguard caught up with you.

“I will explain it all later right now it’s either find Micro Chips and hide him or if you see any of the other boys, stop them.”

Your brain is still puzzled on what’s happening but you nodded. You and Big B split up while Ardee and Rarity went the other way. While on the search you were shocked to see what it looks like a dinosaur just passed by you. You recall that Eli Blaze who Fluttershy was assigned to can transform into animals and began chasing him. You couldn’t catch up to him because of his speed, until your phone began ringing. You check to see that your bodyguard is calling, maybe he has luck on finding them.

“Big B, any luck on your end!?” You asked.

“Good news boss...I found Twilight and her companion...we are hiding in one of the classrooms...in the second floor...” He said in the other line but there’s bad connection.

“Wait, which one and where?” You reply but the line got cut-off.

You kept your phone and it wasn’t long your best friend, Applejack finds you. She was lucky that you are on their side, after telling her that you just got here earlier. The two of you are approaching the stairs, then you notice something passed by at the other side of the hallway followed by Sunset Shimmer from behind. You told Applejack to go and meet up with Twilight while you help Sunset Shimmer with hers. The two of you separate and you hope that this madness must end soon.

Use Your Head Part 2

The day became one hell of a mess as you and Twilight are with Principal Celestia in her office checking all the damages around here.

“Micro Chips little toy malfunctioned; the big hole in the wall; some of us overreacted; janitor’s cleaning supplies, a spotlight from the theatre in the gymnasium, damaged; even some of Trixie’s belongings and her locker; and some of us being injured.” You couldn’t believe all of these. “This is preposterous!”

“Well, it already happened Onyx.” Principal Celestia said also had the same reaction as yours after her sister, Vice-Principal Luna presented the damages done. “But as agreed, you and the boys will be helping the girls raise money for the school repairs. We’ll also help as well.”

“Thanks again Principal Celestia.” You said as you followed Twilight out of her office. “Again, Twilight sorry about what we did.”

“It’s alright Onyx.” Twilight said while still calculating how much money you guys will need to earn. “Sorry we have to confiscate your items, it’s just to give you boys a time out for now from using your powers.”

“If it’s for our own good, it is fine by me.”

A week and a few days passed and Principal Celestia plans a carwash that you guys will participate which is now rescheduled today on Friday.

You then took a few glances at Applejack’s which you’ve seen her wore at the beach; A blue and white rashguard with light green stripes and a red apple logo in the middle of her chest area; and some tight blue shorts. You immediately slapped yourself mentally ang quickly shook your head before you start thinking dirty about your best friend.

Then after finishing their scrubbing, you turned on the hose and started rinsing the soap off the car. Principal Celestia and some other students who is also participating in the carwash announce for everyone to take a break. Rarity and Applejack told you and Ardee that they will finish to drying it up while the two of you go with Principal Celestia to get the coolers and to bring Frostbite inside to the Nurse Redheart after being sprayed by a lot of water in his mouth.

It took a while and the two of you are heading back with the others carrying coolers. Obviously, this isn’t a women’s job but Principal Celestia is helping with Ardee carry one of the coolers, while you after some work at the apple farm you manage to carry one of them by yourself. The rest of the boys are helping patch up the hole near the soccer field. Principal Celestia then told you and Ardee to bring the coolers that hse needs to return for something at her office. When you came back with the others, I mean you were just gone for a while but when you came back everything wasn’t fine.

“I told you we are not interested; now would you leave us alone please!?”

You see your two best friends are being confronted by two guys. The closer your group approach them, you begin to have some sort of bad feeling. You place your cooler down then you see one of them grabbed a hold of Rarity’s hand but Applejack swats his hand away from hers.

“Hey, what do you think you’re doing?!” Ardee called to get the guys attentions as he places his cooler down.

You two are now face to face with the two strangers who don’t go here. This was heard by the other students who were taking a break at the soccer field and the ones who are fixing the hole in the wall.

“What’s going on?” Sunset asked who arrived from the soccer field.

“Good timing Sunset,” Apple jack said. “These varmints just won’t leave me and Rarity alone.”

One of them who looks back at your best friends then back at you two, smirking. Something bad is going to happen.

“Seriously?” He spoke. “I mean we are better than these two fellas.”

“Hate to spoil you, but that lady you’re trying to hit...IS MY GIRLFRIEND!” Ardee’s voice suddenly increase. “Now, am I clear?”
You see them getting aggravated want to make sure things don’t end up in a brawl and step between them. You made a wrong move.

“Apologies gentlemen if my friend is upset right now. But the ladies said it, so how about we end this conversation peacefully and-” Your words were interrupted when you’re pulled back by Ardee after he grabbed you by the shirt as one of them nearly punched you.

On second thought, they are the ones who made the wrong move. After straightening your shirt, you shook your head as you opened the cooler that is beside Ardee.

“Tsk tsk tsk, you know that there is a saying that goes ‘Manners Maketh Man’.” You said as you took out a bottle of fizzy apple cider. You faced sideways and opened the bottle but instead of drinking it, you poured it all to the ground until a little bit of it is left inside. The two boys and the rest of your friends are confused on what you are doing. “I ask kindly and he gave you his warning shot....Now it’s time we teach you two a lesson.”

After switching on how you hold the neck of the bottle, you immediately smashed it on the one who is in front of you. His partner is about to charge in right at you but with quick common sense Ardee swiftly kicked him in the nuts then tackled him to the ground.

The peaceful conversation now turned into a slug fest as Ardee went all out on the one who grabbed his girlfriend as she and the others try to separate him from the assaulter. You on the other hand are dealing with his partner. You grabbed his shirt collar and out of mere luck when he took out a knife, he tries to stab you but nearly misses as your left arm got a cut.

“Now you’ve done it.” You immediately grabbed his right wrist using your left hand.

All that work at Sweet Apple Acres paid off as you gripped both of his wrists and he cannot seem to get away. Your anger took over as you pulled him a bit and gave him a knuckle sandwich.

“That’s enough Ardee.” Rarity pushes her boyfriend back with the assist of her friends while some of the boys restrain the assaulter. “Could anybody, please. Help and stop Onyx!”

Out of anger you furiously made the other one slammed his back right at the car, real hard. After giving him another hard blow to the face, Applejack immediately grabs a hold of you and pulls you away, leaving your victim badly hurt.

Twilight who went inside to get Principal Celestia arrived with Vice Principal Luna to the scene. She asked what happened as Rarity and Applejack explained what happened with eye witnesses.

Principal Celestia told her sister to call the police, plus an ambulance and it wasn’t long they arrive. You gave your statements and lucky enough Sunset’s friend took a video of what happened. After that the police took one of them away while the other is being load up in the ambulance. Meanwhile Nurse Redheart who also came out to see what was going on, patched your cut up with gauze bandage.

“Onyx, I called your bodyguard and told him what happened.” Principal Celestia said then turned her attention to the nurse.

“Nurse Redheart, will be alright?”

“He is very lucky that the cut wasn’t that deep,” Nurse Redheart said. “As long as the wound is kept moist and covered so it will be healed faster.”

“You know that was pretty badass when you and Ardee went all out, they never stood a chance.” Rainbow Dash commented.

“They deserve it,” You replied. “Me and Ardee already gave them warnings and we all saw that they want to start a fight, and that is what we gave them.” Ardee nodded agreeing to what you said.

“Deserve it!?” Applejack said but not in a pleasing tone as you all looked at her. “Have ya’ll completely lost yer mind!?”

“Hold on, me and Ardee saved the two of you. I mean, I understand Ardee doesn’t want anything bad happen to his girlfriend, also I don’t want anything bad to happen to my two best friends.”

“Oh yeah, and ya’ll had to resort it to violence!”

Rarity and the others are now confused on why Applejack is upset at you as she tries to calm her best friend down.

“They are the ones who started this, they should know what’s coming to them. I don’t even know the reason why you are mad right now.”

“Because you didn’t use yer stinkin head again and just acted without thinking. The two of you don't even have yer items with you. What if you’ve been badly hurt?”

“I did and I was lucky that his aim was poor it ended up as a cut. I'm perfectly fine”

“AND IF SOMETHING DID HAPPEN TO YA’LL, HOW WILL I SAY THAT I HAVE THESE DARN FEELINGS FOR YOU!” Applejack shouted.

You and the others got startled but clearly heard that last part. Under her angered breathing, she begins to sniffle. When she raised her head, you see that her eyes begin to water as tears start running down her cheeks. It wasn’t long Applejack stormed off back into the school as you and Rarity followed her with your friends behind the two of you.

Truth and Lies

Epilogue

It wasn’t long Pinkie Pie who entered the cafeteria saw you guys. As she got closer, she sees her boyfriend laying on the floor with something splatted on his face making her gasp.
