“That sounds like fun,” Cadence said distractedly as one of her aides came into the dining room. The two of them started chatting about the Princess’ schedule for the day. The wait staff came in and refilled her beverage, clearing the rest of the table as they did so.

“Can it wait, dear?” Cadence replied, glancing at a clock on the wall. “I’m late for a meeting with the Hippogriffs, and you know how they are about punctuality.”

“Okay, I’ll see you later, Mom,” said Flurry. “I love you.”
“I love you, too!” Cadence called back as she hurriedly followed her aide out of the dining room, leaving Flurry alone.
The young filly slipped out of her chair and rubbed at her tummy with a hoof. The Cakes were going to be here any minute now, so she’d better try and use the bathroom again before the playdate started.

“I know, sweetie,” Cadence cooed, leaning back. “Let’s get you somewhere where it will be easier to clean up, okay?” The young filly nodded weakly, and Cadence lifted her up in her magic. She glanced at Pumpkin and Pound. “You two stay right here, alright? We’ll be back in a little bit.” The cake twins nodded, dutifully staying put as Cadence carried her daughter to the bathroom.

I’m just going to clean them up and get rid of them.” Cadence went to collect the other few in the bedroom, before pausing. “Well, get rid of all but one of them that is. She opened the door before turning back once again. “Why don’t you clean yourself in here. I’ll tell your friends that you’ll be back in a few minutes.”
“Thanks, Mom,” said Flurry, reaching to grab the roll of toilet paper next to the toilet. Cadence smiled and with that she was left alone. Flurry took a few minutes to clean herself up, wiping down her filly bits and brushing out the loose strands of her mane. When she was satisfied with her appearance, she stepped back from the mirror and left the bathroom.
The Cake twins were gone and Cadence was sitting on her bed when she stepped out. Her mother patted the spot beside her with a hoof, gesturing for her to sit next to her.
“Where are Pumpkin and Pound?” asked Flurry as she climbed up onto her bed.
“I made a little snack for your friends, they’re downstairs,” Cadence explained. “I wanted to just have a little chat with you.”
Flurry scooted over to be next to Cadence. “About what?”
“I just wanted to apologize to you,” Cadence said as she wrapped a wing around her daughter. “I should have told you about these things before there was even a chance of them happening to you.” She nuzzled the top of Flurry’s head. “That way it wouldn’t have been so scary.”
Flurry relaxed into her mother’s hold. “Aw, it’s okay, Mom,” she said. “It wasn’t that scary. A little confusing, but not really scary.”
“Well that’s good. I’m glad.” Cadence placed a firm kiss on top of the filly’s head. “I have such a brave daughter.”
Flurry giggled, but then thought about something. “Mom?” she asked.
“Yes dear?”
There was a pause before Flurry asked her question. “Why did I have eggs?” she asked hesitantly.
Cadence smiled. “Well, when you get to be a certain age, a pegasi’s body starts to produce the cells to create eggs. They’re not fertilized or anything, you’d need a colt to do that. But they grow and then they slowly form. After a while, the body just decides that it's time for them to come out and that is what happened here. “So it’s going to happen again?” Flurry asked and Cadence nodded. “How often?”

Flurry nodded, looking deep in thought. “Oh,” was all she said.
Cadence gazed at her daughter fondly. “Was there something else?” she asked softly. “You look like you have another question.”
Her daughter didn’t reply right away, and Cadence could tell that she was choosing her next words very carefully. “When I was… laying the eggs,” Flurry began before cutting herself off, not really sure how to continue.
Cadence looked down at her with a knowing look. “You felt something, didn’t you?” Flurry nodded. “That’s perfectly normal. The eggs are pretty large, and they’re passing through a very sensitive area. It can feel… pretty pleasurable at times.”
