It can be said for anypony living in Ponyville that in one way or another, you know Derpy Hooves. She's the cute mailmare who brings you your packages. She's the pegasus with bubbles on her flank and muffins on her mind. All this is true, but there's more to her than meets the public eye. In a life where you're a single mother trying to give your daughter the good life you didn't get to have for yourself, you do whatever you can in order to make it happen. It means some sleepless nights out in town. It means doing things you told yourself you'd never do unless you absolutely had to. But through it all, Derpy does her best because she has to.

By the end of tonight, she just might feel better about the whole thing. And not be left asking "what went wrong" when something finally goes right for once.

A rough piece to show I'm still alive and writing, just occupied with various projects. I was motivated to write something positive for Derpy, and so here it goes.
