The White Lightning Attack hits the hat on the far right, but the hat was empty, to the frustration of the 'ghost'.

"One down, three to go." Spike says, thankful and relieved that the destroyed hat was empty.

"Yugi'll beat that faker!" Mokuba says.

"Your guess was wrong." Yugi says as he prepares his next card. "Guess wrong again, and it will cost you." Yugi proceeds to play his selected card. "There are still three magical hats left on the field and one of them holds a special surprise just for you. If you destroy the hat that hides the Dark Magician, you'll be one turn away from winning this duel. Choose the empty one, and it'll be my turn again. But I'm betting you'll pick the hat that conceals the trap card I just put in play."

"A trap card?" the 'ghost' asks.

"Now which hat will it be?" Yugi asks back. But the group knows that Yugi's taking a big gamble by revealing his surprise.

"Three chances left. But if he guesses right, it's over." Tristan says. Finally, the 'ghost' makes his decision.

"Blue-Eyes White Dragon, attack the middle hat!" the 'ghost' commands as the attack fires. However, judging by Yugi's smile, it was apparent to the spectators that Yugi got the better end of the exchange.

"Well, now you've done it. Activated my trap card, that is." Yugi says as his trap is sprung. "Spellbinding Circle!" The 'ghost' can't believe he fell for Yugi's trap.

"A Blue-Eyes White Dragon is normally unstoppable, but once drained of its energy by the Spellbinding Circle, it's not match for the full power of my Dark Magician!" Yugi says as he reveals his magician. And in no time, the dragon is destroyed.

"And that puts an end to your Blue-Eyes White Dragon." says Yugi with confidence as the 'ghost' loses 200 life points. However, just as the group celebrates, a second Blue-Eyes White Dragon appears and destroys the Dark Magician, bringing Yugi's life points down by 500, matching the amount the 'ghost' has.

"And that puts an end to your Dark Magician." the 'ghost' retorts. "There are only 3 Blue-Eyes White Dragons in the world, and they're all in my deck. Your grandpa had the fourth, but I ripped it in half. But how could I possibly know that if you claim I'm not really Seto Kaiba? You know, I couldn't believe it when you beat all three of my Blue-Eyes White Dragons with Exodia. But now, without that monster in your deck, there's absolutely no way you can win. Your move."

"Everyone in Domino City and beyond heard about your duel with Seto, that's probably how this loser knows about it!" Mokuba says. "That's not my brother, Yugi. I'm sure!" Back at the Kaiba mansion, the true Kaiba is checking in on Yugi's duel from his personal super computer.

"I am now rerouting the data from the duel on field 146 at Duelist Kingdom." says the onboard A.I. "After that, we'll be able to confirm if Yugi Muto is dueling there."

"I'm sure he is." Kaiba responds. "Now show me what you've got."

"Here it comes." says the A.I. "Now downloading duel data. You were right. Yugi Muto is in this duel."

"Can you show it to me on screen?" Kaiba asks.

"My pleasure." the A.I. responds. "I think that part you'll find most interesting is the name of Yugi's opponent." Kaiba soon finds his name on screen.

"What?! Is this your idea of a joke?!" Kaiba asks, annoyed.

"I'm a computer, so I never joke." the A.I. retorts. "Sensors indicate that the opponent opposite Yugi is registered as Seto Kaiba, and he's using your deck!"

"Those goons sent by Pegasus must've taken my deck!" Kaiba rationalizes.

"The duelists are tied at 500 life points each, and the imposter has his second Blue-Eyes White Dragon on the field." says the A.I. "Yugi defeated the first one with a combination of the Dark Magician, Spellbinding Circle, and Magical Hats. Like the imposter, he currently has 500 life points and no cards in play, meaning both could be one major attack away from defeat. It's his move."

"But without Exodia, he can't win." Kaiba says. "He probably has no other cards left in his deck that can beat the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, let alone two of them."

"Well, then I hope you have a plan." the A.I. responds.

"Yes, but we've got to work fast!" Kaiba says. "Yugi will lose on the next attack from the Blue-Eyes White Dragon unless we decrease its power from here."

"Can we do that?" the A.I. asks.

"Oh, yeah." Kaiba answers. "Upload a virus into that monster's holo-computer. That dragon is about to get sick. Real sick."

"Standing by, but shouldn't we first wait to see Yugi's next move?" asks the A.I. as it preps the virus.

"We can't afford to risk Yugi losing the duel." Kaiba answers. "Upload."

"Viral injection underway." the A.I. soon says. Back at the duel, Yugi knows he has no monsters that can stand up to a Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

"This duel is over, Yugi." the 'ghost' says with confidence. "I'm sure we'll be hearing the fat lady sing right after your turn. I still have Final Attack Orders active, so whatever monster you pick won't be able to defend itself." Yugi soon makes what could be his final choice.

"I choose the Feral Imp." he says. But as he summons, Kaiba takes notice and gets a bit worried.

"I wish Yugi waited a few more seconds before moving." he says. "Isn't there anything you can do to get that computer virus uploaded faster?"

"Were already halfway there. This is as fast as it goes." says the A.I. as the viral injection percentage continues to climb. "Viral implant now at 60 percent, but it doesn't seem to be working. The Blue-Eyes White Dragon is still showing no signs of weakness." Kaiba gets even more worried, as he realizes that something is wrong. Back at the duel, the final attack is about to be launched.

"This is almost too easy." the 'ghost' says with a chuckle.

"There's gotta be SOMETHING Yugi can do!" Rainbow says in worry.

"The first time he took down a Blue-Eyes White Dragon, he used a combination move." Rarity points out. "But I don't think he can do the same thing again."

"It's time, Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Attack!" the 'ghost' commands. But before anything can happen, something happens to the dragon. "What are you waiting for? Attack!" Back at the Kaiba mansion, the A.I. confirms that the virus is starting to take effect.

"The Blue-Eyes White Dragon's attack power is beginning to drop." the A.I. says.

"But it's still too strong. It has to get weaker, or it'll still beat Yugi!" Kaiba responds, doubly worried. Back at the duel, Yugi and the others are seeing what's happening both on screen and on the field, respectively, and none of them can believe it.

"What's going on?" the 'ghost' asks. "My Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" The dragon begins to melt, worrying Kemo.

"This is Kemo to Pegasus. I hope you're watching, sir, because we got a real problem out here!" Kemo says. At the castle, both Pegasus and Croquet watch what's happening.

"How did Yugi do that?" asks Croquet.

"It wasn't Yugi. It was Seto Kaiba." Pegasus answers.

"How? I thought you told me Kaiba jumped out a window while avoiding capture, falling to some cliffs below." Croquet asks, baffled.

"Well, it seems that the real Kaiba is still very much alive." Pegasus answers. Back at the mansion, Kaiba watches and hopes the virus will make the dragon too weak to fight.

"The Blue-Eyes White Dragon's attack power is dropping rapidly." the A.I. says. "The virus implant is successfully disabling the monster completely."

"All right. Now let's get to work on dragon number 3." Kaiba responds with a smile.

"Standing by." says the A.I. Suddenly, something happens.

"What's the matter?" asks Kaiba.

"We've been locked out by a remote terminal. Looks like we've been hacked!" the A.I. answers. Kaiba, frustrated, soon sees a pink rabbit with goggles, red suspenders and big, yellow shoes walk onto the screen and start saying 'Hey, Kaiba!' over and over as more of that same rabbit appear on all three screens. Kaiba knows right away that it's Pegasus that locked them out. Back at the castle, Pegasus watches the proceedings while guards prepare and proceed to break into the Kaiba mansion with guns loaded.

"The Blue-Eyes White Dragon's attack power is now holding at 2000." the A.I. says at last.

"But this should've worked!" Kaiba says in shock and worry.

"The Blue-Eyes White Dragon is now launching its attack!" the A.I. adds. Back at the battlefield, said dragon, though melting prepares the final attack.

"Now, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, time to obliterate him!" the 'ghost' says with wicked glee. Everyone worries as the dragon fires. As for Kaiba, he calls out Yugi's name, and Yugi, the main six and Spike suddenly hear him. And as they do both the eye of Anubis appears on Yugi's forehead and the attack dissipates, leaving the Feral Imp and Yugi's remaining 500 life points undamaged. Everyone sees this and all are shocked as the Blue-Eyes White Dragon essentially destroys itself.

"This can't be!" the ghost says, completely dumbfounded.

"It's gone." Spike says in disbelief.

"Can someone tell me what the hay is going on?" asks Applejack.

"It's a trick. It's gotta be!" Kemo says in shock. Back at the mansion, Kaiba sees what happened.

"Pony feathers!" Rainbow protests. "I think someone somehow destroyed that dragon!"

"The Blue-Eyes White Dragon is destroyed, but the virus wasn't responsible!" the A.I. says.

"Then how? Did Yugi somehow do it?" Kaiba asks.

"How could he? The only card he had in play was the Feral Imp, and it's your deck he's going against." the A.I. answers. Kaiba then realizes that it was just one thing.

"It's the Heart of the Cards. Yugi was right!" Kaiba says in disbelief.

"Come again?" asks the A.I.

"Yugi told me that every card and every deck in Duel Monsters has a heart, so THAT must've been how the dragon was destroyed." Kaiba explains. "When I called out to Yugi, the dragon must've somehow heard me and destroyed itself. Because it's heart is connected with me!" Suddenly, outside, Pegasus' goons find the secret door. Back at the duel, the 'ghost' can't believe what just happened, wondering why it had to happen to him.

"Why you? Because the real Kaiba is still alive!" Yugi explained in triumph. "He was the one who stopped you and that dragon."

"That's right, and we know it because like Yugi, we heard him calling out to Yugi!" Twilight concurred.

"The Blue-Eyes White Dragon destroyed itself because it, too, heard Kaiba calling out. Because its heart is connected with his own." put in Fluttershy. "That just proves that you're not the true Seto Kaiba!"

"Silence! I AM SETO KAIBA!" the 'ghost' says in angry frustration.

"Enough!" Yugi says aloud. Your charade is over!"

"My brother's alive!" Mokuba says with joy.

"Could someone explain what's going on to me again?" Tea asks.

"It's like Yugi said. Last time he dueled my brother, he showed Seto that the Heart of the Cards was real." Mokuba explains. "This faker may have taken his deck, but the real Seto Kaiba is still alive!" Everyone but Spike and the girls truly understand what Mokuba's saying.

"Imposter!" Yugi says aloud to the 'ghost'. "The real Seto Kaiba destroyed that monster. Me, Spike and his friends know, because we sensed him calling out to me when it happened."

"Now, enough of your lies!" Rarity says aloud. "We know you're not Kaiba! It's time for you to show us who you really are!" the 'ghost' just holds his head and laughs as he speaks like a madman.

"I told you, I am Kaiba." the imposter says as he begins to transform. "Or at least I was part of him--the darkest part." the imposter takes on a much more grotesque new form, causing Spike to nearly puke, Fluttershy to hold Pinkie in terror, and Rarity to faint. "I can see you don't recognize me, Yugi. I wasn't lying when I told you I was Seto Kaiba. The evil part of him that you sent to the Shadow Realm after our last duel!" As the being speaks, Yugi remembers when he opened Kaiba's mind at the end of their duel, as do Twilight and his friends. "Now I'm back, thanks to Pegasus."

"Face it, you're not part of my brother anymore!" Mokuba calls out.

"Talk about hideous!" Rarity says as she gets back up.

"🤢 I think you mean UUUUGLLLLYYY!!" Pinkie says. Back at the mansion, the guards break into Kaiba's computer room, but find the computer offline and Kaiba gone. One of the guards reports to Croquet that Kaiba managed to escape.

"Search the grounds. Everywhere." Croquet answers.

"It appears young Yugi's nemesis, the real Seto Kaiba, has come to his rescue." Pegasus says. "I must admit that this little development is one twist that even I did not foresee."

"I have some bad news, sir. The real Kaiba has eluded us once again." Croquet says. "Your were right. He was using a terminal underneath the Kaiba mansion to access the Industrial Illusions mainframe. If I thought he was alive, I would've beefed up security."

"That's two escapes, Croquet. Must I lock you away, again?" Pegasus responds. "Get me Kemo on the radio." Back at the duel, Mokuba taunts the being who was posing as Kaiba by telling him to worry about what the real Kaiba will do to him once he catches up to him. Soon, Pegasus' voice comes on Kemo's radio.

"Pegasus to Kemo. Seto Kaiba has gotten away. Don't lose the little one, no matter what." Pegasus says.

"Understood." Kemo answers.

"I guess I just don't know what to call you." Yugi tells his opponent. "I was thinking of calling you a monster, but I didn't want to insult the cards. It's your move. You've got a whole deck to go through and only one Blue-Eyes White Dragon left." The being draws.

"Just call me the Mimic of Doom." the being says. "Now for my card of choice, Grappler in defense mode!" Right on cue, the monster appears.

"This guy ain't much of a smart thinker. Grappler could easily get crushed by Feral Imp, as there's a 100 point difference between Feral Imp's attack power and Grappler's defense." Spike points out. Yugi knows that the Mimic of Doom is just biding his time until he draws the third Blue-Eyes.

"It's my turn." Yugi says as he preps his next card, though he'd play it in defense mode if it weren't for Final Attack Orders. Meaning that with no defense and if the Mimic of Doom draws the Blue-Eyes within his next turn or so, his life points will be history. "I'll set one card facedown and summon the Cletic Guardian to the field!"

"Why does that Celtic Guardian look somewhat familiar with those ears?" Pinkie asks herself. I thought I saw someone like him in a video game once. Soon, the Celtic Guardian attacks and slices the Grappler in half.

"Your Grappler's split!" Yugi says confidently.

"Ah, parting is such sweet sorrow. I suppose I'll place my Mystic Horseman in defense as well." says the Mimic of Doom. "And I'll also lay one card facedown just as you did." Yugi wonders if the card he set is a magic card or a trap, he then draws.

"Again, I'll play one card facedown and summon the Mystical Elf to the field. Plus, I use this Book of Secret Arts will raise its attack and defense power by 300 points!" Yugi says as said elf appears with increased attack and defense points.

"If it weren't for that Final Attack Orders card, the Mystical Elf could be a formidable defensive wall to protect his life points!" Rainbow says in annoyance.

"My turn is over." Yugi says.

"Patience, Yugi, for it will soon be all over." the Mimic of Doom says. He then starts to think that Yugi must be trying to strengthen the Mystical Elf to withstand an attack from the Mystic Horsemen, but rationalizes that if he draws the final Blue-Eyes and destroy any one of Yugi's monsters, he'll lose his remaining 500 life points anyway.

"Come on, your freakish loser! Make your move!" Mokuba shouts.

"As you wish." the Mimic of Doom replies as he draws. He soon finds that he drew the very card he needed. "Now, prepare...for the Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" Said Dragon soon appears, worrying the group, but Mokuba thinks that what happened to the last one will happen again.

"Don't worry, Yugi. My brother will help you out, just like last time!" Mokuba says with confidence.

"Dream on. Your luck's about to run out." Kemo says. "Just see for yourself. Unlike the last Blue-Eyes, this one's at full power and your brother's in no position to do a thing about it. 'Cause we found where his hiding place was and now he's on the run."

"So that means Kaiba is alive?" Tristan asks, confused.

"Dimwit. It means don't expect another miracle, cause this duel's about to end." Kemo answers with a laugh.

"Such a good dragon, wouldn't you say, Yugi?" the Mimic of Doom asks. "This duel's about to end now! Go, White Lightning Attack!" The attack is launched at the Mystical Elf, but Yugi is ready.

"This duel's not over yet. Activate Mirror Force now!" Yugi says with determination as the attack is stopped while the Mimic of Doom panics. "The Mirror Force trap card will reflect your attack right back at you!"

"Pretty good trick, but I'm ready with one of my own. I'll use Negate Attack." the Mimic of Doom says as the reflected attack is nullified, shocking Yugi of how clever the Mimic of Doom was in putting Negate Attack on the field just in case. "As you can see, Negate Attack neutralizes any attack thrown at me, even if it's one of my own." Mokuba starts to think the duel is all over, and so do some of the others, until Yugi starts laughing.

"It's time to finish this duel, with Monster Reborn!" Yugi says confidently, surprising everyone, especially the Mimic of Doom, as he knows what Monster Reborn does.

"Oh, man!" Rainbow says in surprise. "Monster Reborn can bring back any monster from either player's side after they were destroyed!"

"I'm glad you and my friends are familiar with Monster Reborn, now guess which card I want." Yugi says. But most of the group knows just the one he's after. "Be reborn, Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" In no time, the mighty dragon is brought back for one more attack, but the Mimic of Doom thinks that it's not going to go as Yugi planned.

"A fat lot of good that move's gonna do you, Yugi." says the Mimic of Doom. "Both of these monsters are evenly matched."

"He kinda has a point, because both dragons have 3000 attack points." Applejack adds.

"Their powers are not the same." Yugi responds, shocking everyone. "You forgot about my Mystical Elf. She's been chanting a spell ever since I placed her on the field. It allows the Mystical Elf to transfer her own attack power to any other monster I choose."

"What? This can't be." the Mimic of Doom says in worry.

"This move was inspired by Seto Kaiba himself." Yugi explained. "He showed me that you can alter the attack power of a Blue-Eyes White Dragon. But I'm going to raise the power of mine, instead of lowering it like Kaiba did to yours!"

"This can't be happening!" the Mimic of Doom cries out.

"Oh, you better believe it's happening!" Twilight says with confidence.

"Consider this a message from the real Seto Kaiba: you lose!" Yugi says with determination. "Now, Blue-Eyes, OBLITERATE!!!!" With an extra fortified White Lightning Attack, the second Blue-Eyes is turned to dust and the area around the playing field is enveloped in a bright light, and only Yugi, Spike, Twilight and her friends, and the Mimic of Doom can see through it. Soon after, the eye of Anubis appears on Yugi's head, Spike's hair begins to glow, and the Cutie Marks the girls had while in pony form appear on their hands.

"What's happening?!" Rarity asks.

"I think Yugi's tapping into the power of his Millennium Puzzle, and it's causing our OWN magic to react!" Twilight hypothesized.

"Pegasus may have helped you escape the Shadow Realm once before, but it won't happen again! NEVER AGAIN!!!!" Yugi shouts as he mind crushes the Mimic of Doom, sending it back to the Shadow Realm for good. Immediately following, the energy of the Millennium Item surges in and around Yugi, shocking and frightening his friends from Equestria. "Pegasus, I sense that you're watching. Consider this a warning." Yugi says as Pegasus watches the proceedings in the dining hall in the castle. "Nothing you send against me will stop me! And when we finally duel, believe me, victory will be mine! I'll win back my grandfather's soul, and you will pay for all the people you've hurt in the name of your sick little game! I'm coming for you, Pegasus!" As Yugi finishes, Pegasus' glass of fruit juice shatters and the screen he was watching cuts off. But he just laughs at what he just saw.

"Yugi, you developed your shadow powers quite a bit in such a short time, and even your friends from Equestria must've felt it." he says at last. "But when we finally duel believe me, your Millennium Puzzle will be mine." Back at the battlefield, Yugi retrieves Kaiba's deck.

"That so-called ghost is toast, huh, Yugi?" calls out Joey.

"I think we all had a feeling that the real Kaiba was alive whole time." Applejack says.

"Now let's get dear, little Mokuba and.." Rarity says but she stops herself when she finds that someone is missing.

"That creep Kemo took Mokuba!" Tea says as soon as she realizes he's gone. Everyone calls for him, but no answer.

"Ah, pony feathers, I can't believe it!" Rainbow said. "That jerk in a suit and glasses broke his end of the deal! He must've snuck off with him during that bright flash."

"Well, we're going to find him. No matter what it takes!" Twilight said with confidence as they all headed out to search for the young boy.

Yes, I know that in the card game, Mystical Elf doesn't have the ability to transfer her attack points to any other monster. Another case of the anime making up rules for story sake.
