So they went ahead and fired it off. But after firing it, everyone wondered what happened when nothing happened. "Starlight, I thought we worked on this?" Twilight asked her student. "I don't know what went wrong with the spell, honest!" Starlight defended herself. "You made sure we triple checked our work after all." She added. Suddenly the map was seemingly fixed but then a giant portal opened up above it. "What the...this wasn't in any of our calculations..." Twilight said before the entire group got sucked into the portal at once. Major Sweetie was busy coming up with more strategies and more ways her and her team S.T.E.M. could defeat Dr. Zomboss so they could finally take back Neighborville from the Zombies when all of a sudden a giant portal opened up from above her and deposited a purple horse-like being that looked like she was about to pass out. "Ugh...my head..." The Purple Horse-like being spoke. "...What in sun-filled blazes?" Major Sweetie asked. The purple horse-like being suddenly shot up; giving Major Sweetie a good look at the creature. Further examination revealed this "horse" had both a unicorn horn, and pegasus wings. "Who said that?" The strange horse-like being asked. "Well your not rotting...so your not a gross meanie zombie...but your also not anything normal." Major Sweetie said. "Who's talking?" The purple being said, looking for the voice's owner. "That'd be me." Major Sweetie said, catching the being's attention. "Hi. I don't know what you are, but you are for sure not a filthy undead creature." Major Sweetie said. Suddenly the purple being collasped. Applejack fell out of the portal and into...some kind of park area? "Okay, where the hay am I?" Applejack asked outload. "Whoa!" She heard a voice say from nearby. "...Somebody is there, best show yourself now." Applejack said, raring herself for a fight. But when a walking corn stalk came out from behind the nearby wall, the farm girl fainted. "...I better bring you to Major Sweetie..." The corn stalk said. Chomper was guarding an area perfect for growing plants in Town Central when suddenly a strange pink horse-like being fell from the sky. "That was a really bumpy yet fun ride!" the pink being said. "Hey, what are you doing here?!" Chomper yelled out. "TALKING PLANT?! I'M DREAMING!" the pink being said before fainting shortly afterwards. Rarity fell out from the portal and straight right near a bed of sunflowers. "Whoa...I wonder what caused all this?" Rairty said as she got up. "Hey you there." A female voice called out to her. "Are you alright, Unicorn?" The owner's voice was revealed to be...some sort of walking Sunflower. "...I really wish I had my fainting couch..." Rarity said before fainting. "...Not a couch, but I can get you to Major Sweetie..." The sunflower said. Rose was busy fighting Zombies over near Pressure Pier when suddenly a yellow pegasus dropped out of the sky and defeated the rest of the zombies. "Ow...that was so not kind..." The Yellow pegasus said. She noticed Rose floating over to her. "Oh hello there little one. That was quite the fall you had there. Are you alright?" Rose asked. The yellow pegasus proceeded to faint out of fear. "...This one is very shy." Rose said before dragging the Pegasus away. Rainbow Dash managed to stop herself from falling face first out of the portal. "Oh yeah, I got it. Spitfire's going to freak when she finds out I was able to correct myself coming out of a magic portal." She said. She suddenly noticed a lot of Zombies coming at her. "What the hell...ZOMBIES!" Rainbow Dash yelled out but suddenly all of the Zombies fell flat to the ground before a mushroom appeared before her. "...You, Pegasus creature; from where do you hail?" The Mushroom asked. "TALKING FUNGUS!? I'M IN A NIGHTMARE!" Rainbow Dash yelled out before fainting. "...Major Sweetie will have to contend with you." the mushroom asked. Starlight fell out of the portal and in some kind of western town. "Okay, something must have interferred with the spell for us to wind up in Applelossa." She said. She suddenly saw a bunch of Zombies being barbecued alive by some kind of walking dragon-like plant thing. "And this is not Applelossa. Walking plants is probably nothing though..." Starlight said. "You there, unicorn; this is a war zone...stay safe here." The dragon-like plant said. "...But Talking Plants is where I draw the line..." Starlight said before fainting. "I better hope Major Sweetie doesn't have my hide for this." The dragon-like plant said. Spike found himself flung out of the portal and near some kind of cheese mine. "Ugh...where am I?" He said before he noticed a walking oak tree destroying a few zombies before an Acorn came out of it and the oak tree went away somewhere. "What in equestria...?" Spike said. "What the..." The Acorn suddenly looked at Spike. "DRAGON!" Acorn yelled out. "TALKING ACORN!" Spike said. Suddenly both of them fainted just before a walking plant of some kind found them and carried them both away. Twilight finally awoke, and found all of her friends (Starlight included) plus Spike in some sort of informary. "Are all of you okay?" Twilight asked simply. "We're fine but..." Applejack said. "Did we all have the wierdiest dream about talking plants?" Pinkie Pie asked. "Yes. I'm sure we all did." Fluttershy said. "How did you know that darling?" Rarity asked. "Wait let me guess..." Rainbow Dash said. "Just a hunch?" She asked. The party pony nodded. "I don't think that was a dream...or a nightmare. I think it was real." Starlight said. "But how could this have happened? I know we did extreme checking of that spell. So the only logical explanation is that something interfered with it. And it wasn't me." She added. "For some strange reason...I believe her. I don't think Twilight did this either." Spike said. "Oh good your all awake." A very familiar voice to Twilight said before a Sunflower wearing a miltary uniform came in with all the plants that the group had encountered, minus the Acorn; in his place was some sort of pea plant. "You! Your that sunflower I spotted upon my arrival here!" Twilight said. "And you are all very strange horse-like beings. Your definatly not creations of Dr. Zomboss as your not Zombies in the slightest. But your also not humans either." Major Sweetie Said. "My name is Major Sweetie, and I'm in charge here." She added. "A miltary organization? Here?" Rainbow Dash asked. "And who on equestria is Dr. Zomboss?" Rarity asked. "Guess you folk aren't from around here." The corn plant said. "I'm Kernal Corn" He added. "Peashooter." The Pea Plant said. "Rose." The Rose said. "Chomper." The obviously carnavois plant said. "Sunflower." The non-miltary sunflower said. "But many just call me Solar Flare instead." She added. "Night Cap." The Mushroom said. "And Snapdragon." The dragon-plant said. The group noticed an Acorn nearby waking up and looking at Spike. "DRAGON!" The Acorn said and rushed over to behind Major Sweetie who shook her head. "And this little guy is Acorn. Seems he's a bit scared of your dragon friend there." Major Sweetie said. "We can see that. Well I'm Twilight Sparkle while my friends are Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Starlight, and Spike." Twilight said. "Well it's quite sun-dilly to meet you all. Let me tell you where you are." Major Sweetie said before pointing up at a sunflower flying a plane that had a banner that read "Neighborville close thanks to invasion". "Let me be the first to welcome you all, to Neighborville!" Major Sweetie said, with a smile on her face. Author's Note The name of this chapter is arrived from the name of the song from the "PvZ Battle for Neighborville" Trailor known as "Come on Down to Neighborville!" "Like I said, welcome all of you to Neighborville. This is one of the settlements we plants defend from the likes of Dr. Zomboss and his various cronies." Major Sweetie said. "As nice as this place is...we must really be getting back to our place." Twilight said. "Starlight, got a spell ready?" She asked. "Yep!" Starlight said but suddenly found nothing happening as did Twilight. "...This is weird..." Starlight said. "Yeah that's never happened before..." Twilight said. "I think you were right earlier: Something interferred with our magic." She added. "If I had to take a wild guess here and go out on a leaf..." Major Sweetie, which caused Rainbow Dash to laugh. "HA HA HA HA! IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE SHE'S A PLANT! HA HA HA HA!" Rainbow Dash said. "FINALLY! Someone gets my plant puns!" Major Sweetie said. "Focus please." Twilight said and then turned to Rainbow Dash. "...Both of you!" She added. "Sorry Twi..." Dash said. "As I was saying, I'm willing to bet one of Dr. Zomboss's many inventions is interfering." Major Sweetie said. "So...who is this Dr. Zomboss anyways?" Spike asked. "Since your new, I can overlook the fact that you don't know about the meanest, cruelest, and most smelliest zombie of them all. Dr. Zomboss is a very smart zombie who creates all sorts of wacky inventions, and has even gone so far as to raise the dead and make them part of his growing Zombie Armies. For as long as any of us plants have been but mere saplings and beyond, this war between the plants and zombies has raged on for years. And now, it seems Dr. Zomboss has taken the fight to our backyard: He's focused his sights on Neighborville itself! That's where many of us plants are born and raised with such delicate care. And now Dr. Zomboss has plans to take it from us!" Major Sweetie said. "Why that's not very nice of him..." Fluttershy said. "Oh it's not nice at all." Rose spoke up. "He and his zombies are after the brains of humans, and we plants are the only defense they have. If Neighborville falls..." Rose stopped herself. "Then all of plant kind too will fall." Peashooter said. "Oh...oh my...." Rarity said. "And trust me, none of us want that to happen now, ya hear?" Kernal Corn said. "You'd feel the same way if some evil bad guy you've been fighting for years suddenly shows up right in your back yard." Sunflower stated. "Ah get it. You want to defend what's yers to the bitter end." Applejack said. "That's some loyalty stuff right there." Rainbow Dash said. "You make it sound so simple." Night Cap said. "But this is war; got that? Your in a war zone." He added. "Night Cap, you should know better then that." Kernal Corn said. Peashooter couldn't help but shake his head. "Their at it again..." Peashooter said. "Lighten up would you? I get it, you want to defend this place. What's the big deal?" Rainbow Dash asked. "What's the big deal? RD these plants were all born here, that's what's the big deal!" Applejack said but then Twilight pushed them away from each other. "NOT THIS AGAIN! I will not have you two fight one another. Especially not here." Twilight said. Major Sweetie meanwhile was taking notes. "So...um..." Fluttershy said. "Have any of you ever considered maybe...talking to Dr. Zomboss?" She asked. Everyone just stared at her. "Is...is she serious right now?" Chomper asked. "I think she is..." Rose said. "But trust me, pegasus; we have tried. But Dr. Zomboss has refused to back down. All he cares about is one thing: getting brains from the humans who we protect." She explained. "I guess you would have already tried that by now..." Starlight said. "Yeah. I can get that." Pinkie Pie said. "Leave it to Pinkie Pie to be random..." Spike Said. "Um...nice...dragon..." Acorn said out of nowhere, trying to gather his courage. "So...since your stuck here until you shut off that machine Dr. Zomboss has created...why don't you lot help us out? You'd be helping us take out Zomboss gaining some foot hold here in Neighborville in the process AND you'd also find out where Dr. Zomboss's device is stored." Major Sweetie Said. "Total win-win with smiles all around~" She added. "...Fine. Seems we've got nothing better to do." Twilight said. "Which is why I am going to pair you all up with one of us each. And after careful consideration, I have the perfect pairs in mind." Major Sweetie said. "Hey...Twilight is a Princess where we come from. Doesn't that count for something?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Major Sweetie's first name isn't just for show; she has the highest honors of any plant here." Night Cap said. "That's right. Your social status means nothing here in war. So without further ado, first Applejack, your going with Kernal Corn." Major Sweetie said. "Well, that's a bit of an odd pairing..." Applejack said. "Well Ah am farm grown." Kernal Corn said. "Next is Fluttershy and Rose." Major Sweetie said. "Don't worry shy little Pegasus; I will protect you from those mean Zombies." Rose said. "Um...thank you..." Fluttershy said, a small smile on her face. "Third, I want Pinkie Pie with Chomper." Major Smiles said. "Why do I have to be with the carnivorous plant?!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed. "And why do I have to be with these herbivories in the first place?!" Chomper exclaimed. "Because I don't know how else to pair the two of you, so be quiet!" Major Sweetie said. "Up next, I want Sunflower/Solar Flare with Rarity." She added. "It'll be a pleasure to work with you, Ms. Rarity." Solar Flare said. "Likewise I'm sure." Rarity said. "Fifth, Night Cap your with Rainbow Dash there." Major Sweetie said. "I hope he can keep up with me on foot." Rainbow Dash said. "Says the pegasus; I hope you can keep up with me flying up there." Night Cap said. "Next up, Starlight can go with Snapdragon. He's a recent recruit but I think the two of you will get along swimmingly." Major Sweetie said. "Oh great..." Starlight said. "Speak for yourself." Snapdragon said. "Starlight, don't make me make this into a friendship lesson.." Twilight said. "Snapdragon, this is an order from Major Sweetie; don't make me make you do laps around Giddy Park as punishment!" Peashooter said. "Seventh, I'd like Spike there to go with Acorn. Don't let the little guy fool you." Major Sweetie said. "I'd like to say the same for myself." Spike said. "I believe you..." Acorn said, shaking. "So, does that leave me with you, Major Sweetie?" Twilight asked. "Not quite. Peashooter?" Major Sweetie called out. "Yes Major?" Peashooter said. "As the highest ranking official outside of S.T.E.M., your sole priority is to both stick to Twilight's side and ensure her safety is your top priority. Is that clear?" Major Sweetie asked. "Yes ma'm! I will carry out your orders to the best of my abilities!" Peashooter said. "...And I get stuck with him...Princess Celestia Help me..." Twilight said. "I think you'll see why I picked these pairs as you deal with each other. That's all. I'll let you all know your assignments shortly. For now, go and socialize with your new partners. I'd love to meet her sometime." Major Sweetie said. Meanwhile in an unknown part of Neighborville... "Ugh...where am I?" Celestia said as she woke up in a strange neighborhood. She noticed a plane above her flown by a sunflower with a banner that said "Neighborville closed thanks to invasion". "Neighborville? Where on eques is that?!" Celestia exclaimed. Author's Note YEP! "What is this?" Celestia said. Suddenly a walking cactus and a bunch of walking wildflowers showed up. "Area secured." The Cactus said. Suddenly he noticed Celestia. "Um...hello?" Celestia asked. "...Seems we got another one. I'll radio for an extraction." The Cactus said. "Maintain this position." The Cactus said. "...I see. Stay there and I'll get the extraction ready." Major Sweetie said over a ham radio that was at the plant HQ known as Crazy Dave's Manor. "Peashooter, the recon team at Town Square is asking for an extraction. As usual, until I get back, your in charge." Major Sweetie said before she left. "Major Sweetie seems to put a lot of weight on your shoulders." Twilight told Peashooter. "Well out of all the plants in the war, I'm the highest ranked after her. Normally she'd put her sister in charge while she's away, but her sister is currently in a 1,000 day quarantine." Peashooter said. "Why is she in quarantine?" Twilight asked. "One of Zomboss's inventions modified her DNA and we had to fix her up. Sure her sister is more or less fine now, but she was placed in Quarantine in case there are lingering side effects of that altered DNA." Peashooter said. "But why one thousand days specifically?" Twilight asked. "That I don't know. But Major Sweetie's sister understood the time limit and didn't object. I suppose when your little sister is the war mind of the two of you, you tend to listen more to her." Peashooter said. "Wait it was Major Sweetie's older sister whose in quarantine?" Twilight said. "Oh you thought I meant little as in younger...no. It's not like that. The two of them are twins. Although if you saw her big sister, you'd believe the two aren't even related." Peashooter said. "Major Sweetie's sister is one of the very few sunflowers who has been able to surpass normal sunflower growth and become a Sunflower Queen." He added. "Oh. I see." Twilight said. Twins. Nothing like Celestia and Luna. Twilight thought to herself. Still, at least the parallels are still there, but unlike Luna, Major Sweetie has zero reason to be jealous of her sister and further more, Major Sweetie seems to be more like Celestia then like Luna what with the leadership role and everything. She continued contemplating. "So, you were grown and cared for at a farm?" Applejack asked Kernal Corn. "Yeppers. Farm born and raised. And judging from your accent, Ah'd wager your from a farm back in your world." Kernal Corn said. "Darn tootin' Ah'm a farm girl. Ah'm surprised your not trying to say that farming is only for men though." Applejack said. "The one who grew and raised me was a farm girl. That's why Ah'm okay with you being a farm girl." Kernal Corn said. "That's quite the reason indeed..." Applejack said. "Um...so...are Zombies really not very nice at all?" Fluttershy asked. "Unfortunately no. What I wouldn't give to have those Zombies become nice upstanding citizens of Neighborville, but Bright Cap was taken out last week and without her, our ability to even so much as reform those Zombies has been lost." Rose said. "Oh. That's not very nice of those Zombies to refuse reformation." Fluttershy said. "But...wait...was it forced?" She asked. "Before you judge us, I would suggest remembering how mean Dr. Zomboss is. It's because of him that has put Major Sweetie's sister in quarantine for a thousand days." Rose said. "Oh...I see." Fluttershy said. "So you have a pet alligator at home but you have problems with me being carnivorous..." Chomper said. "My pet alligator Gummy has no teeth though. You do." Pinkie Pie said. "...An alligator with no teeth? I'd have to see that one to believe it." Chomper said. Before suddenly he felt something bit him without any teeth. He soon found a baby alligator chomping one of his leaves. "Oh Gummy...did you sneak into my mane again?" Pinkie Pie asked. "THIS is Gummy?" Chomper asked before he noticed the alligator did indeed have no teeth. "Yep! That's Gummy." Pinkie Pie said. "And now I've seen everything..." Chomper said. "Oh my, are you hurt little Wildflower?" Solar Flare asked a Wildflower plant which only nodded. "Don't worry, I'll have you all patched up in a jiffy." Solar Flare said before she began healing up the Wildflower Plant. "I must say...it was nice of you to heal this one up." Rarity said. "As a Sunflower, I have healing powers; and I want to help out. After all, it's only fair that I help protect the humans of Neighborville as they are the whole reason for my existence. It's my way of giving back to them." Solar Flare said. "A fair point; you are quite generous in that regard." Rarity said. "...This is Giddy Park?" Rainbow Dash asked Night Cap. "Still think seventy laps around this place will be nothing?" Night Cap asked. "Please...I'll get it done before Major Sweetie even comes back." Rainbow Dash said. "That's quite the bold claim. Think you can back that up and race me in the process?" Night Cap asked. "Bring it, shroom head!" Rainbow Dash said. "...So..." Starlight said. "Sorry, I'm new at this still..." She said. "Same here. My first actual assignment since joining up." Snapdragon said. "So why is it that you listen to Peashooter so much?" Starlight asked. "Because he saved my life. That plain and simple." Snapdragon said. Starlight couldn't help but wonder if Twilight had saved her life... "...Nice Dragon..." Acorn said to Spike. "I'm not gonna hurt you little guy. I am a nice dragon. Not like some others I know. And trust me, I know a lot." Spike said. "Are...are any other dragons from your world as nice as you are?" Acorn asked. "As far as I've looked, sadly no. But I'm holding out hope for that to be the case." Spike said. Over in Neighborville, Major Sweetie arrived in an extraction plane. "Okay, let's get this white pony-being up and back to Crazy Dave's Manor pronto!" Major Sweetie said. "Of course Major." Cactus said as the Celestia was helped up into the plane. "How odd to find talking plants here. Do you know where I am?" Celestia asked. "You have to be this Celestia I've heard about. I'm Major Sweetie. Allow me to formally welcome you to Neighborville, Princess." Major Sweetie said. "So...you've heard of me...may I ask how you came to know about me, exactly?" Celestia asked. "I think some of your ponies ended up here in Neighborville because of Dr. Zomboss. There'll be time to fill you in on the way back to Crazy Dave's Manor; that's our home base." Major Sweetie said. "I see. Very well then." Celestia said. Soon Major Sweetie returned with Celestia in tow. "Princess Celestia, you ended up here too? What about Princess Luna?" Twilight asked. "First off Twilight, when will you learn to stop calling me by my title? We are equals now." Celestia said. "Gee that sounds familiar..." Peashooter said. "I wonder where~" Major Sweetie said, smirking. "But as for my sister, I don't know if she too was sent here. I dare hope not." Celestia said. Suddenly a Wildflower came up to Major Sweetie. "MAJOR! ONE OF THOSE PONY BEINGS ENDED UP IN THE QUARINTINE BAY WITH YOUR SISTER!" The Wildflower said. "Bring me there." Major Sweetie said. "Hope you ponies don't mind coming along. Though where is Night Cap and Rainbow Dash?" Major Sweetie said. As if on cue, Rainbow Dash landed a sonic rainboom near Major Sweetie at the same time Night Cap had finished running there. "What were you two even doing?" Twilight asked. "We were racing seventy laps against each other at Giddy Park..." Night Cap said. "And we managed to get them all done before Major Sweetie even got back. Got to admit, Night Cap, your just as fast as I am." Rainbow Dash said. "Heh...makes me feel bad for thinking you wouldn't be able to keep up with me." Night Cap said. "Same." Rainbow Dash said. "...I had a feeling..." Major Sweetie said under her breath. "What was that?" Celestia asked. "Oh nothing." Major Sweetie said. They all headed into the Quarantine Bay. It was a very bumpy ride that she had to endure while taking one of her infamous naps. "Ugh...where am I?" Luna asked, managing to speak at least. "Um...hi?" A female voice said. Looking around for the voice revealed the owner to be a giant sunflower creature of some kind. "Now don't panic please...I know I look rather odd to you but according to my sister, a lot of others like you have ended up here in Neighborville as it is." The giant sunflower said. "Wonderful...just wonderful..." Luna said. Suddenly the main 6, Celestia, and the other plants showed up outside a door to inside the room the two of them were in. "Luna?" Celestia said, recognizing her sister. "Why in Tartarous are you in there?" the white alicorn asked. Suddenly the door opened before a bunch of strange mushrooms managed to get Luna out of the room and the door closed. "You should be thankful my sister is past the point of contagion. Still, it's quite weird that one of you ponies ended up in the Quarintine Bay." Major Sweetie said. "Sister, what has happened to cause us to be transported here?" Luna asked. "Oh I think I have a pretty good idea." The Giant Sunflower from inside the bay said. "And it's not a good one." She added. "It has to be something Dr. Zomboss did; as if it could be anything else really." The giant sunflower said. "Really sis? When did you come up with that one? You should be thankful I'm willing to let you poke fun at stuff like this." Major Sweetie said. "Well how else am I going to keep my mind off of mother? You know what happened to her seven months ago." The Giant Sunflower said. "...You don't need to remind me sis. I am fully aware of what happened with mother. And once she was gone and it was revealed Dr. Zomboss tried to mutate you, I put you in Quarintine Bay for a thousand days just to be safe." Major Sweetie Said. "Yeah I know I know. It was for the best. We didn't want me potentially causing any problems for anyone. After all, if something did happened, I know you'd do what's best sis." The Giant Sunflower said. "But I'm still unsure if I could do it...especially after mom died..." Major Sweetie said under her breath. "What was that?" Celestia asked. "Nothing...it's nothing..." Major Sweetie said. "But back to our situation at hand, as my sister wisely pointed out and as I myself have already theorized, one of Dr. Zomboss's machines is the root of your problem. The only way to get any of you back home is to find that machine and destroy it. Unfortunately, I don't have any spare commanders to spare to get Celestia and Luna here through Zombie front lines safely." She explained. "Understandable I suppose. Which I think would be fine. Both Princess Luna and Princess Celestia are kind of important figures where we're from." Twilight said. "I can figure that out myself. Remember, the 8 of you are going to be split up but each one of you will be accompinied by one of my commanders. Along the way, you might find Citron and Cactus out there. Celestia met Cactus earlier, he's in charge of the reacon team assigned to the Town Center. As for Citron, he's in charge of the defense team over at Mt. Steam." Major Sweetie said. "So how do you want us to split up then?" Starlight couldn't help but ask. "Hmm...good call. I say go with what you think is best overall. Town Center is where the heart of the conflict against Dr. Zomboss and his forces is stationed, meanwhile Mt. Steam has had it's own share of problems what with the cheese factory reporting in some malfunctions." Major Sweetie said. "The Cheese Factory? Sounds serious." Night Cap said. "Especially since my cousin lives in that area. I would really like to make sure my cousin is okay but..." He started. "Say no more! I, Rainbow Dash, will gladly join you." Rainbow Dash stated. "Kernal Corn, would you mind if we went with? Ah'm from a tight clan of family farmers back home and we'd never turn down family." Applejack said. "Ah too understand the importance of family. Consider it our destination." Kernal Corn said. "Starlight, I would prefer if you came to Town Center with me and Peashooter; that seems to be the most logical location for Dr. Zomboss to have that machine at." Twilight said. "Yeah I was thinking the same thing." Starlight said. "Sounds like we have a game plan then." Peashooter said. "Well at least Peashooter will be with us so that alivaites my concern there." Snapdragon said. "I want to stick close to Twilight. I won't let her..." Spike started. "No Spike; as much as I appreciate it, I'd rather you go to Mt. Steam and figure out what's up there." Twilight said. "...Alright Twilight, if your certain about this..." Spike said. "Guess that's where I'm headed to. Great, I just got back from fighting zombies there." Acorn said. "Um...if it's okay I think I'll go with Spike; I worry about him." Fluttershy said. "That's an excellent idea; I think I'll join you." Rose said. "Ugh...I would rather stay away from Mt. Steam." Chomper said. "Let me guess: You had a very bad experience with cheese once?" Pinkie Pie asked. "How did you...?" Chomper asked. "Just a hunch." Pinkie Pie said. The ponies all shook their heads as Chomper tried to comptemplate this. "Don't bother Chomper. Back home, there's a saying: You don't question Pinkie Pie. We've all come to expect the unexpected from her." Rarity said. "I don't blame chomper though. Cheese can get in places you don't want it to." Sunflower said. "Oh I can completely relate. I guess we can join the others at Town Center then." Rarity said. "I'M IN!" Sunflower said practically immediately. "What about me and my sister?" Celestia asked. "Yes, the two of us would like to know where we can go." Luna said. "It's safe for the two of you here at Crazy Dave's Manor. Besides, there are some things I want to know about you, Celestia." Major Sweetie said. "As do I about you, Major Sweetie." Celestia said. "Hey Luna, I know you and I just met, but do you think you could keep me company? It gets kind of lonely in here." The Giant Sunflower said. "I suppose it couldn't hurt..." Luna said. "Yay! Your the best!" The Giant Sunflower said. "...Sisters, am I right?" Major Sweetie asked Celestia. "Very much so..." Celestia said. Everyone but Celestia and Luna soon left for their repective areas, but Celestia soon realized something about the pairs and decided to bring it up. "Major Sweetie was it?" Celestia asked. "Please, you can drop the formalities with me; you can just call me Sweetie." Major Sweetie said. "Right. The commanders you placed those 8 with...it wasn't random choice was it?" Celestia asked. "Heh...so you figured it out huh? You are correct; I paired each one of those ponies with the one I thought best fit their personality." Sweetie said. "And I know you agree with me, after all I know it's what you would've done in my shoes." Sweetie said. "Indeed I would have. Yet, you are clearly much younger then your sister." Celestia said. "Nope. Me and sis are the same age; twins in fact. She just got super lucky and got the Sunflower Queen genes from mom over me. Not that I care; I much prefer being on the front lines then being a royal plant." Sweetie said. "Sounds a lot like me. I'm not one for politics and prefer spending my time on military strategies." Celestia said. "I figured as much. That's why I know I'd connect with you better. And our sisters would connect best with each other. I'm just surprised my sister made the comment before I could. She can be irrating at times, but she's my sister. I gotta protect her. For mother's sake." Sweetie said. "Out of curiousity, where is your mother?" Celestia said. "She's dead...one of Dr. Zomboss's Zombies used a bomb to blow her up. All I got left is sis now." Sweetie said. "I...I see..." Celestia said. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to open up old wounds..." She added. "It's fine. I told my mother it was too dangerous to assist Dreadwood in taking out Dr. Zomboss's factory but she wouldn't listen. But that's how this war is I suppose. Just one example of the stakes here at Neighborville." Sweetie said. Rainbow Dash asked as they looked out over the hill at the town near Mount Steep. "Yer looking at Olde Town; a historical town with roots that date back to the olden days. In other words, this place is bonafide history." Kernal Corn said. "Don't judge the place based on it's looks alone; it is historical." Acorn said. "It's a piece of Neighborville's history after all. It hasn't changed much from when it was first founded too." He added. "Ah guess history is important to this place; Ah guess you can't continue where your going without knowin' where you've been..." Applejack said. "At least you all know where Neighborville started up at..." Spike said. "Enough with the chatter. We're heading up past Olde Town so we can get to the Plant base here to get some info." Night Cap said. As the group headed through Olde Town, they couldn't help but notice a sentient orange with some sci-fi gear that was battling the zombies encroaching in the town. "That has to be Citron; the plant Major Sweetie mentioned." Spike said. "Yes. That's him. Head of the defense team." Acorn said. The group managed to bypass the battle and arrive in the plant base. "OH...MY...GOODNESS!" A chipper voice suddenly greeted them. It came from a nearby Dandelion. "Four Plant Heroes here on Mount Steep! It's enough to make me want to explode from happiness!" She said. "Uh...right..." Applejack said. "So do you have any clue what's going on here?" Night Cap asked. "No clue what-so-ever; all I know is that for some reason I haven't seen any mouseflies around lately. And they love cheese, even the moldy kind! Something needs to be done. Why don't you go and see what's up at the factory?" The Dandelion asked. "There's a Factory near here?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Yep. A cheese factory to be precise partner." Kernal Corn said. "You have a cheese factory near a historical town like this?" Spike asked. "This town was FOUNDED because of that factory." Acorn said. "Then we better see what's up." Rainbow Dash said. "I agree." Night Cap said. MISSION START! "I know the way perfectly; it's where I encountered Spike here." Acorn said. "Then lead the way, Acorn." Rainbow Dash said, and the group headed off, following acorn. However, on the way there they found a tiny zombie in some kind of uniform guarding the entrance into the mines. "...Who in tarnation?" Applejack asked. "! That's Mecha Imp! At least that's what he calls himself..." Acorn said. "Hello Acorn. We meet again my nemesis." Mecha Imp said. "This one seems to be more intelligent then the others..." Rainbow Dash said. "You think? Mecha Imp is one of few zombies that were made artificially smarter by Dr. Zomboss himself." Acorn said. "Are you planning on going in the mines? Too bad, their off limits! But knowing you, you want to go anyways. So, that's why I brought along this thing." Mecha Imp said before suddenly summoning a giant mech suit which he climbed in. "A MECH SUIT?!" Rainbow Dash said. "Looks like we'll have to beat this thing in order to get into the mines." Acorn said. Rival Battle Vs. Mecha Imp The group started to attack Mecha Imp's giant mech which while simply tried firing at them, had a lot of health. "Darn...we're not going to get past quick enough. Guess it's time for me to call upon the mighty oak!" Acorn said before he started yodeling. "What in Neighborville is he doin'?" Applejack asked. "Ah know what he's doing...we need to keep Mecha Imp distracted long enough." Kernal Corn said. The group managed to keep Mecha Imp distracted for long enough for Acorn to stop yodeling, and once acorn stopped yodeling, a giant oak tree came out of the ground. "OAK SMASH!" The Oak Tree said before launching a giant log at Mecha Imp which completely destroyed his suit. "No! My precious suit! I'll be back!" Mecha Imp said before he teleported away. "He got away..." Rainbow Dash said. Acorn suddenly was on top of the Oak Tree. "Take that Mecha Imp! That's one Acorn, zero Mecha Imp!" Acorn said. "Didn't know you could summon that thing." Rainbow Dash said. "I can. I just don't tend to use him often. There's bound to be more Zombies up ahead, and while slow, Oaks are complete power houses." Acorn said. With Oak taking the lead, any future Zombies the lot encountered were dealt in no time flat. That's when they came across the cheese factory where it was revealed that the factory was being modified by imps piloting some sort of mini-helicopters. "Those imps...their called Minor Problems. We need to take them all out." Kernal Corn said. The group proceeded to do so but it was too late: The cheese flow was redirected by then. "Hey guys." Rainbow Dash said coming up to the group with a piece of paper. "One of those Minor Problems dropped this." She said. "Why this looks like a recipe of some sort." Night Cap said. "What's this?" Kernal Corn said. "Step One: Redirect Cheese to Volcano. Step Two: Heat up cheese in Volcano until it overflows. Step Three: Cause Volcano to explode with Cheese. Step four: Enjoy cheesy brains" Kernal Corn read. "Why, it sounds like some kinda plan to cause Neighborville to be covered in cheese!" Applejack said. "We can't let that happen!" Acorn said. "I agree! Let's get back." Spike said. They encountered a Moldy Cheese blockade on the way out, but then it was cleared by Mouseflies. "What the hay..." Applejack said. "THOSE were Mouseflies." Acorn said. They took care of a few more zombies and headed back to the plant home from there. MISSION CLEAR!
Prologue: Come on Down to Neighborville!After Twilight gave a speech about how the cutie map hadn't sent them on any friendship missions since Starlight broke it by using it to go back in time, Starlight and Twilight revealed that they had been working on a spell to fix it. So they went ahead and fired it off. But after firing it, everyone wondered what happened when nothing happened. "Starlight, I thought we worked on this?" Twilight asked her student. "I don't know what went wrong with the spell, honest!" Starlight defended herself. "You made sure we triple checked our work after all." She added. Suddenly the map was seemingly fixed but then a giant portal opened up above it. "What the...this wasn't in any of our calculations..." Twilight said before the entire group got sucked into the portal at once. Major Sweetie was busy coming up with more strategies and more ways her and her team S.T.E.M. could defeat Dr. Zomboss so they could finally take back Neighborville from the Zombies when all of a sudden a giant portal opened up from above her and deposited a purple horse-like being that looked like she was about to pass out. "Ugh...my head..." The Purple Horse-like being spoke. "...What in sun-filled blazes?" Major Sweetie asked. The purple horse-like being suddenly shot up; giving Major Sweetie a good look at the creature. Further examination revealed this "horse" had both a unicorn horn, and pegasus wings. "Who said that?" The strange horse-like being asked. "Well your not rotting...so your not a gross meanie zombie...but your also not anything normal." Major Sweetie said. "Who's talking?" The purple being said, looking for the voice's owner. "That'd be me." Major Sweetie said, catching the being's attention. "Hi. I don't know what you are, but you are for sure not a filthy undead creature." Major Sweetie said. Suddenly the purple being collasped. Applejack fell out of the portal and into...some kind of park area? "Okay, where the hay am I?" Applejack asked outload. "Whoa!" She heard a voice say from nearby. "...Somebody is there, best show yourself now." Applejack said, raring herself for a fight. But when a walking corn stalk came out from behind the nearby wall, the farm girl fainted. "...I better bring you to Major Sweetie..." The corn stalk said. Chomper was guarding an area perfect for growing plants in Town Central when suddenly a strange pink horse-like being fell from the sky. "That was a really bumpy yet fun ride!" the pink being said. "Hey, what are you doing here?!" Chomper yelled out. "TALKING PLANT?! I'M DREAMING!" the pink being said before fainting shortly afterwards. Rarity fell out from the portal and straight right near a bed of sunflowers. "Whoa...I wonder what caused all this?" Rairty said as she got up. "Hey you there." A female voice called out to her. "Are you alright, Unicorn?" The owner's voice was revealed to be...some sort of walking Sunflower. "...I really wish I had my fainting couch..." Rarity said before fainting. "...Not a couch, but I can get you to Major Sweetie..." The sunflower said. Rose was busy fighting Zombies over near Pressure Pier when suddenly a yellow pegasus dropped out of the sky and defeated the rest of the zombies. "Ow...that was so not kind..." The Yellow pegasus said. She noticed Rose floating over to her. "Oh hello there little one. That was quite the fall you had there. Are you alright?" Rose asked. The yellow pegasus proceeded to faint out of fear. "...This one is very shy." Rose said before dragging the Pegasus away. Rainbow Dash managed to stop herself from falling face first out of the portal. "Oh yeah, I got it. Spitfire's going to freak when she finds out I was able to correct myself coming out of a magic portal." She said. She suddenly noticed a lot of Zombies coming at her. "What the hell...ZOMBIES!" Rainbow Dash yelled out but suddenly all of the Zombies fell flat to the ground before a mushroom appeared before her. "...You, Pegasus creature; from where do you hail?" The Mushroom asked. "TALKING FUNGUS!? I'M IN A NIGHTMARE!" Rainbow Dash yelled out before fainting. "...Major Sweetie will have to contend with you." the mushroom asked. Starlight fell out of the portal and in some kind of western town. "Okay, something must have interferred with the spell for us to wind up in Applelossa." She said. She suddenly saw a bunch of Zombies being barbecued alive by some kind of walking dragon-like plant thing. "And this is not Applelossa. Walking plants is probably nothing though..." Starlight said. "You there, unicorn; this is a war zone...stay safe here." The dragon-like plant said. "...But Talking Plants is where I draw the line..." Starlight said before fainting. "I better hope Major Sweetie doesn't have my hide for this." The dragon-like plant said. Spike found himself flung out of the portal and near some kind of cheese mine. "Ugh...where am I?" He said before he noticed a walking oak tree destroying a few zombies before an Acorn came out of it and the oak tree went away somewhere. "What in equestria...?" Spike said. "What the..." The Acorn suddenly looked at Spike. "DRAGON!" Acorn yelled out. "TALKING ACORN!" Spike said. Suddenly both of them fainted just before a walking plant of some kind found them and carried them both away. Twilight finally awoke, and found all of her friends (Starlight included) plus Spike in some sort of informary. "Are all of you okay?" Twilight asked simply. "We're fine but..." Applejack said. "Did we all have the wierdiest dream about talking plants?" Pinkie Pie asked. "Yes. I'm sure we all did." Fluttershy said. "How did you know that darling?" Rarity asked. "Wait let me guess..." Rainbow Dash said. "Just a hunch?" She asked. The party pony nodded. "I don't think that was a dream...or a nightmare. I think it was real." Starlight said. "But how could this have happened? I know we did extreme checking of that spell. So the only logical explanation is that something interfered with it. And it wasn't me." She added. "For some strange reason...I believe her. I don't think Twilight did this either." Spike said. "Oh good your all awake." A very familiar voice to Twilight said before a Sunflower wearing a miltary uniform came in with all the plants that the group had encountered, minus the Acorn; in his place was some sort of pea plant. "You! Your that sunflower I spotted upon my arrival here!" Twilight said. "And you are all very strange horse-like beings. Your definatly not creations of Dr. Zomboss as your not Zombies in the slightest. But your also not humans either." Major Sweetie Said. "My name is Major Sweetie, and I'm in charge here." She added. "A miltary organization? Here?" Rainbow Dash asked. "And who on equestria is Dr. Zomboss?" Rarity asked. "Guess you folk aren't from around here." The corn plant said. "I'm Kernal Corn" He added. "Peashooter." The Pea Plant said. "Rose." The Rose said. "Chomper." The obviously carnavois plant said. "Sunflower." The non-miltary sunflower said. "But many just call me Solar Flare instead." She added. "Night Cap." The Mushroom said. "And Snapdragon." The dragon-plant said. The group noticed an Acorn nearby waking up and looking at Spike. "DRAGON!" The Acorn said and rushed over to behind Major Sweetie who shook her head. "And this little guy is Acorn. Seems he's a bit scared of your dragon friend there." Major Sweetie said. "We can see that. Well I'm Twilight Sparkle while my friends are Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Starlight, and Spike." Twilight said. "Well it's quite sun-dilly to meet you all. Let me tell you where you are." Major Sweetie said before pointing up at a sunflower flying a plane that had a banner that read "Neighborville close thanks to invasion". "Let me be the first to welcome you all, to Neighborville!" Major Sweetie said, with a smile on her face. Author's Note The name of this chapter is arrived from the name of the song from the "PvZ Battle for Neighborville" Trailor known as "Come on Down to Neighborville!" Chapter 1: Welcome to Neighborville!Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™ Official Launch Trailer - YouTube Major Sweetie and the plants led the group of Twilight and her friends over to a nearby area which was littered with plans that were like something one will draw up to counter attacks. "Like I said, welcome all of you to Neighborville. This is one of the settlements we plants defend from the likes of Dr. Zomboss and his various cronies." Major Sweetie said. "As nice as this place is...we must really be getting back to our place." Twilight said. "Starlight, got a spell ready?" She asked. "Yep!" Starlight said but suddenly found nothing happening as did Twilight. "...This is weird..." Starlight said. "Yeah that's never happened before..." Twilight said. "I think you were right earlier: Something interferred with our magic." She added. "If I had to take a wild guess here and go out on a leaf..." Major Sweetie, which caused Rainbow Dash to laugh. "HA HA HA HA! IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE SHE'S A PLANT! HA HA HA HA!" Rainbow Dash said. "FINALLY! Someone gets my plant puns!" Major Sweetie said. "Focus please." Twilight said and then turned to Rainbow Dash. "...Both of you!" She added. "Sorry Twi..." Dash said. "As I was saying, I'm willing to bet one of Dr. Zomboss's many inventions is interfering." Major Sweetie said. "So...who is this Dr. Zomboss anyways?" Spike asked. "Since your new, I can overlook the fact that you don't know about the meanest, cruelest, and most smelliest zombie of them all. Dr. Zomboss is a very smart zombie who creates all sorts of wacky inventions, and has even gone so far as to raise the dead and make them part of his growing Zombie Armies. For as long as any of us plants have been but mere saplings and beyond, this war between the plants and zombies has raged on for years. And now, it seems Dr. Zomboss has taken the fight to our backyard: He's focused his sights on Neighborville itself! That's where many of us plants are born and raised with such delicate care. And now Dr. Zomboss has plans to take it from us!" Major Sweetie said. "Why that's not very nice of him..." Fluttershy said. "Oh it's not nice at all." Rose spoke up. "He and his zombies are after the brains of humans, and we plants are the only defense they have. If Neighborville falls..." Rose stopped herself. "Then all of plant kind too will fall." Peashooter said. "Oh...oh my...." Rarity said. "And trust me, none of us want that to happen now, ya hear?" Kernal Corn said. "You'd feel the same way if some evil bad guy you've been fighting for years suddenly shows up right in your back yard." Sunflower stated. "Ah get it. You want to defend what's yers to the bitter end." Applejack said. "That's some loyalty stuff right there." Rainbow Dash said. "You make it sound so simple." Night Cap said. "But this is war; got that? Your in a war zone." He added. "Night Cap, you should know better then that." Kernal Corn said. Peashooter couldn't help but shake his head. "Their at it again..." Peashooter said. "Lighten up would you? I get it, you want to defend this place. What's the big deal?" Rainbow Dash asked. "What's the big deal? RD these plants were all born here, that's what's the big deal!" Applejack said but then Twilight pushed them away from each other. "NOT THIS AGAIN! I will not have you two fight one another. Especially not here." Twilight said. Major Sweetie meanwhile was taking notes. "So...um..." Fluttershy said. "Have any of you ever considered maybe...talking to Dr. Zomboss?" She asked. Everyone just stared at her. "Is...is she serious right now?" Chomper asked. "I think she is..." Rose said. "But trust me, pegasus; we have tried. But Dr. Zomboss has refused to back down. All he cares about is one thing: getting brains from the humans who we protect." She explained. "I guess you would have already tried that by now..." Starlight said. "Yeah. I can get that." Pinkie Pie said. "Leave it to Pinkie Pie to be random..." Spike Said. "Um...nice...dragon..." Acorn said out of nowhere, trying to gather his courage. "So...since your stuck here until you shut off that machine Dr. Zomboss has created...why don't you lot help us out? You'd be helping us take out Zomboss gaining some foot hold here in Neighborville in the process AND you'd also find out where Dr. Zomboss's device is stored." Major Sweetie Said. "Total win-win with smiles all around~" She added. "...Fine. Seems we've got nothing better to do." Twilight said. "Which is why I am going to pair you all up with one of us each. And after careful consideration, I have the perfect pairs in mind." Major Sweetie said. "Hey...Twilight is a Princess where we come from. Doesn't that count for something?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Major Sweetie's first name isn't just for show; she has the highest honors of any plant here." Night Cap said. "That's right. Your social status means nothing here in war. So without further ado, first Applejack, your going with Kernal Corn." Major Sweetie said. "Well, that's a bit of an odd pairing..." Applejack said. "Well Ah am farm grown." Kernal Corn said. "Next is Fluttershy and Rose." Major Sweetie said. "Don't worry shy little Pegasus; I will protect you from those mean Zombies." Rose said. "Um...thank you..." Fluttershy said, a small smile on her face. "Third, I want Pinkie Pie with Chomper." Major Smiles said. "Why do I have to be with the carnivorous plant?!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed. "And why do I have to be with these herbivories in the first place?!" Chomper exclaimed. "Because I don't know how else to pair the two of you, so be quiet!" Major Sweetie said. "Up next, I want Sunflower/Solar Flare with Rarity." She added. "It'll be a pleasure to work with you, Ms. Rarity." Solar Flare said. "Likewise I'm sure." Rarity said. "Fifth, Night Cap your with Rainbow Dash there." Major Sweetie said. "I hope he can keep up with me on foot." Rainbow Dash said. "Says the pegasus; I hope you can keep up with me flying up there." Night Cap said. "Next up, Starlight can go with Snapdragon. He's a recent recruit but I think the two of you will get along swimmingly." Major Sweetie said. "Oh great..." Starlight said. "Speak for yourself." Snapdragon said. "Starlight, don't make me make this into a friendship lesson.." Twilight said. "Snapdragon, this is an order from Major Sweetie; don't make me make you do laps around Giddy Park as punishment!" Peashooter said. "Seventh, I'd like Spike there to go with Acorn. Don't let the little guy fool you." Major Sweetie said. "I'd like to say the same for myself." Spike said. "I believe you..." Acorn said, shaking. "So, does that leave me with you, Major Sweetie?" Twilight asked. "Not quite. Peashooter?" Major Sweetie called out. "Yes Major?" Peashooter said. "As the highest ranking official outside of S.T.E.M., your sole priority is to both stick to Twilight's side and ensure her safety is your top priority. Is that clear?" Major Sweetie asked. "Yes ma'm! I will carry out your orders to the best of my abilities!" Peashooter said. "...And I get stuck with him...Princess Celestia Help me..." Twilight said. "I think you'll see why I picked these pairs as you deal with each other. That's all. I'll let you all know your assignments shortly. For now, go and socialize with your new partners. I'd love to meet her sometime." Major Sweetie said. Meanwhile in an unknown part of Neighborville... "Ugh...where am I?" Celestia said as she woke up in a strange neighborhood. She noticed a plane above her flown by a sunflower with a banner that said "Neighborville closed thanks to invasion". "Neighborville? Where on eques is that?!" Celestia exclaimed. Author's Note YEP! Chapter 2: Chatting in Neighborville!Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™ Official Launch Trailer - YouTube As Celestia steadied herself up, she couldn't help but noticed a group of zombies being defeated by some sort of thorns. "What is this?" Celestia said. Suddenly a walking cactus and a bunch of walking wildflowers showed up. "Area secured." The Cactus said. Suddenly he noticed Celestia. "Um...hello?" Celestia asked. "...Seems we got another one. I'll radio for an extraction." The Cactus said. "Maintain this position." The Cactus said. "...I see. Stay there and I'll get the extraction ready." Major Sweetie said over a ham radio that was at the plant HQ known as Crazy Dave's Manor. "Peashooter, the recon team at Town Square is asking for an extraction. As usual, until I get back, your in charge." Major Sweetie said before she left. "Major Sweetie seems to put a lot of weight on your shoulders." Twilight told Peashooter. "Well out of all the plants in the war, I'm the highest ranked after her. Normally she'd put her sister in charge while she's away, but her sister is currently in a 1,000 day quarantine." Peashooter said. "Why is she in quarantine?" Twilight asked. "One of Zomboss's inventions modified her DNA and we had to fix her up. Sure her sister is more or less fine now, but she was placed in Quarantine in case there are lingering side effects of that altered DNA." Peashooter said. "But why one thousand days specifically?" Twilight asked. "That I don't know. But Major Sweetie's sister understood the time limit and didn't object. I suppose when your little sister is the war mind of the two of you, you tend to listen more to her." Peashooter said. "Wait it was Major Sweetie's older sister whose in quarantine?" Twilight said. "Oh you thought I meant little as in younger...no. It's not like that. The two of them are twins. Although if you saw her big sister, you'd believe the two aren't even related." Peashooter said. "Major Sweetie's sister is one of the very few sunflowers who has been able to surpass normal sunflower growth and become a Sunflower Queen." He added. "Oh. I see." Twilight said. Twins. Nothing like Celestia and Luna. Twilight thought to herself. Still, at least the parallels are still there, but unlike Luna, Major Sweetie has zero reason to be jealous of her sister and further more, Major Sweetie seems to be more like Celestia then like Luna what with the leadership role and everything. She continued contemplating. "So, you were grown and cared for at a farm?" Applejack asked Kernal Corn. "Yeppers. Farm born and raised. And judging from your accent, Ah'd wager your from a farm back in your world." Kernal Corn said. "Darn tootin' Ah'm a farm girl. Ah'm surprised your not trying to say that farming is only for men though." Applejack said. "The one who grew and raised me was a farm girl. That's why Ah'm okay with you being a farm girl." Kernal Corn said. "That's quite the reason indeed..." Applejack said. "Um...so...are Zombies really not very nice at all?" Fluttershy asked. "Unfortunately no. What I wouldn't give to have those Zombies become nice upstanding citizens of Neighborville, but Bright Cap was taken out last week and without her, our ability to even so much as reform those Zombies has been lost." Rose said. "Oh. That's not very nice of those Zombies to refuse reformation." Fluttershy said. "But...wait...was it forced?" She asked. "Before you judge us, I would suggest remembering how mean Dr. Zomboss is. It's because of him that has put Major Sweetie's sister in quarantine for a thousand days." Rose said. "Oh...I see." Fluttershy said. "So you have a pet alligator at home but you have problems with me being carnivorous..." Chomper said. "My pet alligator Gummy has no teeth though. You do." Pinkie Pie said. "...An alligator with no teeth? I'd have to see that one to believe it." Chomper said. Before suddenly he felt something bit him without any teeth. He soon found a baby alligator chomping one of his leaves. "Oh Gummy...did you sneak into my mane again?" Pinkie Pie asked. "THIS is Gummy?" Chomper asked before he noticed the alligator did indeed have no teeth. "Yep! That's Gummy." Pinkie Pie said. "And now I've seen everything..." Chomper said. "Oh my, are you hurt little Wildflower?" Solar Flare asked a Wildflower plant which only nodded. "Don't worry, I'll have you all patched up in a jiffy." Solar Flare said before she began healing up the Wildflower Plant. "I must say...it was nice of you to heal this one up." Rarity said. "As a Sunflower, I have healing powers; and I want to help out. After all, it's only fair that I help protect the humans of Neighborville as they are the whole reason for my existence. It's my way of giving back to them." Solar Flare said. "A fair point; you are quite generous in that regard." Rarity said. "...This is Giddy Park?" Rainbow Dash asked Night Cap. "Still think seventy laps around this place will be nothing?" Night Cap asked. "Please...I'll get it done before Major Sweetie even comes back." Rainbow Dash said. "That's quite the bold claim. Think you can back that up and race me in the process?" Night Cap asked. "Bring it, shroom head!" Rainbow Dash said. "...So..." Starlight said. "Sorry, I'm new at this still..." She said. "Same here. My first actual assignment since joining up." Snapdragon said. "So why is it that you listen to Peashooter so much?" Starlight asked. "Because he saved my life. That plain and simple." Snapdragon said. Starlight couldn't help but wonder if Twilight had saved her life... "...Nice Dragon..." Acorn said to Spike. "I'm not gonna hurt you little guy. I am a nice dragon. Not like some others I know. And trust me, I know a lot." Spike said. "Are...are any other dragons from your world as nice as you are?" Acorn asked. "As far as I've looked, sadly no. But I'm holding out hope for that to be the case." Spike said. Over in Neighborville, Major Sweetie arrived in an extraction plane. "Okay, let's get this white pony-being up and back to Crazy Dave's Manor pronto!" Major Sweetie said. "Of course Major." Cactus said as the Celestia was helped up into the plane. "How odd to find talking plants here. Do you know where I am?" Celestia asked. "You have to be this Celestia I've heard about. I'm Major Sweetie. Allow me to formally welcome you to Neighborville, Princess." Major Sweetie said. "So...you've heard of me...may I ask how you came to know about me, exactly?" Celestia asked. "I think some of your ponies ended up here in Neighborville because of Dr. Zomboss. There'll be time to fill you in on the way back to Crazy Dave's Manor; that's our home base." Major Sweetie said. "I see. Very well then." Celestia said. Soon Major Sweetie returned with Celestia in tow. "Princess Celestia, you ended up here too? What about Princess Luna?" Twilight asked. "First off Twilight, when will you learn to stop calling me by my title? We are equals now." Celestia said. "Gee that sounds familiar..." Peashooter said. "I wonder where~" Major Sweetie said, smirking. "But as for my sister, I don't know if she too was sent here. I dare hope not." Celestia said. Suddenly a Wildflower came up to Major Sweetie. "MAJOR! ONE OF THOSE PONY BEINGS ENDED UP IN THE QUARINTINE BAY WITH YOUR SISTER!" The Wildflower said. "Bring me there." Major Sweetie said. "Hope you ponies don't mind coming along. Though where is Night Cap and Rainbow Dash?" Major Sweetie said. As if on cue, Rainbow Dash landed a sonic rainboom near Major Sweetie at the same time Night Cap had finished running there. "What were you two even doing?" Twilight asked. "We were racing seventy laps against each other at Giddy Park..." Night Cap said. "And we managed to get them all done before Major Sweetie even got back. Got to admit, Night Cap, your just as fast as I am." Rainbow Dash said. "Heh...makes me feel bad for thinking you wouldn't be able to keep up with me." Night Cap said. "Same." Rainbow Dash said. "...I had a feeling..." Major Sweetie said under her breath. "What was that?" Celestia asked. "Oh nothing." Major Sweetie said. They all headed into the Quarantine Bay. Author's Note Yes I am going to include that trailor at the beginning of every chapter from here on out. And there's nothing you can do to stop me.😈 And yeah, Luna is here now too. Chapter 3: Ponies in Nieghborville!Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™ Official Launch Trailer - YouTube Luna struggled to get up from her position on the floor. It was a very bumpy ride that she had to endure while taking one of her infamous naps. "Ugh...where am I?" Luna asked, managing to speak at least. "Um...hi?" A female voice said. Looking around for the voice revealed the owner to be a giant sunflower creature of some kind. "Now don't panic please...I know I look rather odd to you but according to my sister, a lot of others like you have ended up here in Neighborville as it is." The giant sunflower said. "Wonderful...just wonderful..." Luna said. Suddenly the main 6, Celestia, and the other plants showed up outside a door to inside the room the two of them were in. "Luna?" Celestia said, recognizing her sister. "Why in Tartarous are you in there?" the white alicorn asked. Suddenly the door opened before a bunch of strange mushrooms managed to get Luna out of the room and the door closed. "You should be thankful my sister is past the point of contagion. Still, it's quite weird that one of you ponies ended up in the Quarintine Bay." Major Sweetie said. "Sister, what has happened to cause us to be transported here?" Luna asked. "Oh I think I have a pretty good idea." The Giant Sunflower from inside the bay said. "And it's not a good one." She added. "It has to be something Dr. Zomboss did; as if it could be anything else really." The giant sunflower said. "Really sis? When did you come up with that one? You should be thankful I'm willing to let you poke fun at stuff like this." Major Sweetie said. "Well how else am I going to keep my mind off of mother? You know what happened to her seven months ago." The Giant Sunflower said. "...You don't need to remind me sis. I am fully aware of what happened with mother. And once she was gone and it was revealed Dr. Zomboss tried to mutate you, I put you in Quarintine Bay for a thousand days just to be safe." Major Sweetie Said. "Yeah I know I know. It was for the best. We didn't want me potentially causing any problems for anyone. After all, if something did happened, I know you'd do what's best sis." The Giant Sunflower said. "But I'm still unsure if I could do it...especially after mom died..." Major Sweetie said under her breath. "What was that?" Celestia asked. "Nothing...it's nothing..." Major Sweetie said. "But back to our situation at hand, as my sister wisely pointed out and as I myself have already theorized, one of Dr. Zomboss's machines is the root of your problem. The only way to get any of you back home is to find that machine and destroy it. Unfortunately, I don't have any spare commanders to spare to get Celestia and Luna here through Zombie front lines safely." She explained. "Understandable I suppose. Which I think would be fine. Both Princess Luna and Princess Celestia are kind of important figures where we're from." Twilight said. "I can figure that out myself. Remember, the 8 of you are going to be split up but each one of you will be accompinied by one of my commanders. Along the way, you might find Citron and Cactus out there. Celestia met Cactus earlier, he's in charge of the reacon team assigned to the Town Center. As for Citron, he's in charge of the defense team over at Mt. Steam." Major Sweetie said. "So how do you want us to split up then?" Starlight couldn't help but ask. "Hmm...good call. I say go with what you think is best overall. Town Center is where the heart of the conflict against Dr. Zomboss and his forces is stationed, meanwhile Mt. Steam has had it's own share of problems what with the cheese factory reporting in some malfunctions." Major Sweetie said. "The Cheese Factory? Sounds serious." Night Cap said. "Especially since my cousin lives in that area. I would really like to make sure my cousin is okay but..." He started. "Say no more! I, Rainbow Dash, will gladly join you." Rainbow Dash stated. "Kernal Corn, would you mind if we went with? Ah'm from a tight clan of family farmers back home and we'd never turn down family." Applejack said. "Ah too understand the importance of family. Consider it our destination." Kernal Corn said. "Starlight, I would prefer if you came to Town Center with me and Peashooter; that seems to be the most logical location for Dr. Zomboss to have that machine at." Twilight said. "Yeah I was thinking the same thing." Starlight said. "Sounds like we have a game plan then." Peashooter said. "Well at least Peashooter will be with us so that alivaites my concern there." Snapdragon said. "I want to stick close to Twilight. I won't let her..." Spike started. "No Spike; as much as I appreciate it, I'd rather you go to Mt. Steam and figure out what's up there." Twilight said. "...Alright Twilight, if your certain about this..." Spike said. "Guess that's where I'm headed to. Great, I just got back from fighting zombies there." Acorn said. "Um...if it's okay I think I'll go with Spike; I worry about him." Fluttershy said. "That's an excellent idea; I think I'll join you." Rose said. "Ugh...I would rather stay away from Mt. Steam." Chomper said. "Let me guess: You had a very bad experience with cheese once?" Pinkie Pie asked. "How did you...?" Chomper asked. "Just a hunch." Pinkie Pie said. The ponies all shook their heads as Chomper tried to comptemplate this. "Don't bother Chomper. Back home, there's a saying: You don't question Pinkie Pie. We've all come to expect the unexpected from her." Rarity said. "I don't blame chomper though. Cheese can get in places you don't want it to." Sunflower said. "Oh I can completely relate. I guess we can join the others at Town Center then." Rarity said. "I'M IN!" Sunflower said practically immediately. "What about me and my sister?" Celestia asked. "Yes, the two of us would like to know where we can go." Luna said. "It's safe for the two of you here at Crazy Dave's Manor. Besides, there are some things I want to know about you, Celestia." Major Sweetie said. "As do I about you, Major Sweetie." Celestia said. "Hey Luna, I know you and I just met, but do you think you could keep me company? It gets kind of lonely in here." The Giant Sunflower said. "I suppose it couldn't hurt..." Luna said. "Yay! Your the best!" The Giant Sunflower said. "...Sisters, am I right?" Major Sweetie asked Celestia. "Very much so..." Celestia said. Everyone but Celestia and Luna soon left for their repective areas, but Celestia soon realized something about the pairs and decided to bring it up. "Major Sweetie was it?" Celestia asked. "Please, you can drop the formalities with me; you can just call me Sweetie." Major Sweetie said. "Right. The commanders you placed those 8 with...it wasn't random choice was it?" Celestia asked. "Heh...so you figured it out huh? You are correct; I paired each one of those ponies with the one I thought best fit their personality." Sweetie said. "And I know you agree with me, after all I know it's what you would've done in my shoes." Sweetie said. "Indeed I would have. Yet, you are clearly much younger then your sister." Celestia said. "Nope. Me and sis are the same age; twins in fact. She just got super lucky and got the Sunflower Queen genes from mom over me. Not that I care; I much prefer being on the front lines then being a royal plant." Sweetie said. "Sounds a lot like me. I'm not one for politics and prefer spending my time on military strategies." Celestia said. "I figured as much. That's why I know I'd connect with you better. And our sisters would connect best with each other. I'm just surprised my sister made the comment before I could. She can be irrating at times, but she's my sister. I gotta protect her. For mother's sake." Sweetie said. "Out of curiousity, where is your mother?" Celestia said. "She's dead...one of Dr. Zomboss's Zombies used a bomb to blow her up. All I got left is sis now." Sweetie said. "I...I see..." Celestia said. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to open up old wounds..." She added. "It's fine. I told my mother it was too dangerous to assist Dreadwood in taking out Dr. Zomboss's factory but she wouldn't listen. But that's how this war is I suppose. Just one example of the stakes here at Neighborville." Sweetie said. Chapter 4: Mount Steep Mission 1Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™ Official Launch Trailer - YouTube "Whoa...is it me, or is this very country?" Rainbow Dash asked as they looked out over the hill at the town near Mount Steep. "Yer looking at Olde Town; a historical town with roots that date back to the olden days. In other words, this place is bonafide history." Kernal Corn said. "Don't judge the place based on it's looks alone; it is historical." Acorn said. "It's a piece of Neighborville's history after all. It hasn't changed much from when it was first founded too." He added. "Ah guess history is important to this place; Ah guess you can't continue where your going without knowin' where you've been..." Applejack said. "At least you all know where Neighborville started up at..." Spike said. "Enough with the chatter. We're heading up past Olde Town so we can get to the Plant base here to get some info." Night Cap said. As the group headed through Olde Town, they couldn't help but notice a sentient orange with some sci-fi gear that was battling the zombies encroaching in the town. "That has to be Citron; the plant Major Sweetie mentioned." Spike said. "Yes. That's him. Head of the defense team." Acorn said. The group managed to bypass the battle and arrive in the plant base. "OH...MY...GOODNESS!" A chipper voice suddenly greeted them. It came from a nearby Dandelion. "Four Plant Heroes here on Mount Steep! It's enough to make me want to explode from happiness!" She said. "Uh...right..." Applejack said. "So do you have any clue what's going on here?" Night Cap asked. "No clue what-so-ever; all I know is that for some reason I haven't seen any mouseflies around lately. And they love cheese, even the moldy kind! Something needs to be done. Why don't you go and see what's up at the factory?" The Dandelion asked. "There's a Factory near here?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Yep. A cheese factory to be precise partner." Kernal Corn said. "You have a cheese factory near a historical town like this?" Spike asked. "This town was FOUNDED because of that factory." Acorn said. "Then we better see what's up." Rainbow Dash said. "I agree." Night Cap said. MISSION START! "I know the way perfectly; it's where I encountered Spike here." Acorn said. "Then lead the way, Acorn." Rainbow Dash said, and the group headed off, following acorn. However, on the way there they found a tiny zombie in some kind of uniform guarding the entrance into the mines. "...Who in tarnation?" Applejack asked. "! That's Mecha Imp! At least that's what he calls himself..." Acorn said. "Hello Acorn. We meet again my nemesis." Mecha Imp said. "This one seems to be more intelligent then the others..." Rainbow Dash said. "You think? Mecha Imp is one of few zombies that were made artificially smarter by Dr. Zomboss himself." Acorn said. "Are you planning on going in the mines? Too bad, their off limits! But knowing you, you want to go anyways. So, that's why I brought along this thing." Mecha Imp said before suddenly summoning a giant mech suit which he climbed in. "A MECH SUIT?!" Rainbow Dash said. "Looks like we'll have to beat this thing in order to get into the mines." Acorn said. Rival Battle Vs. Mecha Imp The group started to attack Mecha Imp's giant mech which while simply tried firing at them, had a lot of health. "Darn...we're not going to get past quick enough. Guess it's time for me to call upon the mighty oak!" Acorn said before he started yodeling. "What in Neighborville is he doin'?" Applejack asked. "Ah know what he's doing...we need to keep Mecha Imp distracted long enough." Kernal Corn said. The group managed to keep Mecha Imp distracted for long enough for Acorn to stop yodeling, and once acorn stopped yodeling, a giant oak tree came out of the ground. "OAK SMASH!" The Oak Tree said before launching a giant log at Mecha Imp which completely destroyed his suit. "No! My precious suit! I'll be back!" Mecha Imp said before he teleported away. "He got away..." Rainbow Dash said. Acorn suddenly was on top of the Oak Tree. "Take that Mecha Imp! That's one Acorn, zero Mecha Imp!" Acorn said. "Didn't know you could summon that thing." Rainbow Dash said. "I can. I just don't tend to use him often. There's bound to be more Zombies up ahead, and while slow, Oaks are complete power houses." Acorn said. With Oak taking the lead, any future Zombies the lot encountered were dealt in no time flat. That's when they came across the cheese factory where it was revealed that the factory was being modified by imps piloting some sort of mini-helicopters. "Those imps...their called Minor Problems. We need to take them all out." Kernal Corn said. The group proceeded to do so but it was too late: The cheese flow was redirected by then. "Hey guys." Rainbow Dash said coming up to the group with a piece of paper. "One of those Minor Problems dropped this." She said. "Why this looks like a recipe of some sort." Night Cap said. "What's this?" Kernal Corn said. "Step One: Redirect Cheese to Volcano. Step Two: Heat up cheese in Volcano until it overflows. Step Three: Cause Volcano to explode with Cheese. Step four: Enjoy cheesy brains" Kernal Corn read. "Why, it sounds like some kinda plan to cause Neighborville to be covered in cheese!" Applejack said. "We can't let that happen!" Acorn said. "I agree! Let's get back." Spike said. They encountered a Moldy Cheese blockade on the way out, but then it was cleared by Mouseflies. "What the hay..." Applejack said. "THOSE were Mouseflies." Acorn said. They took care of a few more zombies and headed back to the plant home from there. MISSION CLEAR!
