Twilight sighed as she plopped her body on the bed she thought of the most recent events that transpired and her crush Starlight Glimmer.
Oh how she loved her ever since her graduation she always deeply cared about her. She could never exactly explain the feeling until Spike told her.
"You're in love with Starlight." Spike smirked at Twilight.
"What that's perpostorous we are just friends." Twilight denied nervously.
"Deep down you feel it." Spike told the alicorn.
Twilight then thought about it more, could she have feelings for Starlight Glimmer.
"Hey Twilight how does this dress look for the Gala?" Starlight asked curiously.
Twilight stood, mouth agape, she had a yellow dress with her mane style so fancy looking she was beautiful.
"Uh Twilight?" Starlight's confused voice broke Twilight out of her trance.
"Oh you look great Starlight." Twilight reassured blushing.
"Thanks Twilight." Starlight said before walking off.
Spike then smirked at the purple alicorn who sighed in defeat.
"Okay I love her." Twilight sighed out.
Twilight blushed at the memory she looked so gorgeous in that dress, and the two had such great memories together. She hoped they would be together forever.
But alas fate had other plans in the name of a self centered illusionist.
"Thank you all for gathering." Starlight told the Mane 6 and Spike.
"No problem Starlight what did you want to tell us?" Twilight asked reassuringly.
"Well I'm sort of dating Trixie now and I felt I should tell you guys isn't that great?" Starlight asked happily unaware how this was shattering Twilight's heart into a million pieces, Spike looked at the purple alicorn sympathetically Twilight was wearing a forced smile on her face and was trying not to cry.
"Yes I the Great and Powerful Trixie am now seeing Starlight, are you not amazed I have a marefriend now?" Trixie asked to the Mane 6 and Spike.
The Mane 6 and Spike congratulated Trixie and Starlight but Twilight was saddened at the news.
Twilight didn't enjoy seeing Starlight and Trixie together but she knew if Starlight was happy she would try too be happy for her too no matter how much it hurt her inside.
Twilight tried to keep it a secret that she loved Starlight but it was dang near impossible to do so, she decided that she would reveal to Starlight how much she loved her at the New Years Eve party but something happened that tore her heart apart.
Twilight tapped on Starlight's back who turned around smiling at her old teacher.
"Oh hey Twilight did you want something?" Starlight asked happily.
Oh how Twilight loved that mare's optimism.
"Yes, Starlight I've had something I wanted to tell you for a long time." Twilight revealed to the pink unicorn.
"Okay what is it?" Starlight asked curiously.
"Well-" Twilight began before a voice was heard.
"May the Great and Powerful Trixie have your attention please." Trixie announced.
Everypony turned to Trixie who was standing on a table.
"Starlight can you please come over here?" Trixie asked the unicorn.
"Okay, hold on for a second Twilight." Starlight responded.
Figures Trixie would have Starlight's full attention ah well they are marefriends.
Trixie cupped Starlight's chin and began speaking "Starlight you are the best thing that has ever happened to me, for a while I thought I would never have a friend until I met you. You were he light of my life and the reason I still have faith in friendship to this day."
Starlight blushed with tears of joy as Trixie began using her magic to pull out a tiny box.
"So I ask this Starlight Glimmer will you marry me?" Trixie asked.
Starlight then embraced Trixie and said "Of course I will marry you Trixie." Starlight said happily as the two began kissing.
Twilight then teared up as she ran out of the party unnoticed by anypony else at the party. Spike called out for her name but she didn't respond but just kept running.
And now here she was wallowing in her own misery in her room she didn't wanna join the party after that she just wanted to stay here for a while and think about everything.
She then heard a knock on the door, she opened the door from where she then saw Spike.
"Hey are you doing okay?" Spike asked worried.
"I don't know Spike, I'm happy for Starlight and all but I feel so heartbroken. I can never tell her my feelings now." Twilight said sighing.
"I know it hurts Twilight but you have to tell her at some point." Spike says comfrotingly.
"Uh she already knows." a voice was heard through the door.
Starlight was then seen at the doorway frowning sympathetically.
"I'll leave you two alone." Spike awkwardly said leaving.
Twilight and Starlight then stare at each other before Starlight spoke "I saw you run off, and I wanted to make sure you were okay but I guess there's more to it than I thought."
"I'm so sorry Starlight, I didn't mean for you to find out this way, I didn't want to lose you as a friend so I never told you until now." Twilight said in shame.
"Twilight I'm sorry too, I should have known." Starlight apologized in remorse.
Twilight then put a hoof on Starlight's chest and spoke "No Starlight don't blame yourself I didn't tell you and Trixie was your marefriend you are not to be blamed for this."
"I guess your right but Twilight I'm sorry but I can't be your marefriend I am with Trixie I just hope we can still be friends." Starlight said.
"Of course we're still friends." Twilight said happily embracing Starlight "Even if I can't be with you I'm just happy to have you in my life."
Spike put his ear through the door and smiled it seemed like things would be okay after all.
Twilight and Starlight returned to the party that day and Twilight was happy and knew that even if Starlight cannot love her she was happy to be her friend.
