TWILIGHT, STARLIGHT AND MELODY :

“Backup plan?” Twilight questions her tone giving away her emotion’s a perfect blend of rage and anxiety.

Twilight was hurting from all the blasts she had taken fighting the controlled starlight and starlight was obviously hurt as well and was actually showing it now that she isn’t under melody’s control.

Melody on the other hoof stood there without more then a bruise or 2 and some slightly singed fur. Melody teleports behind twilight and tries to buck her in the back.

Only for starlight to pull up a forcefield around herself and twilight blocking melody’s strike.

Starlight quickly fire’s a shot off at melody. Melody quickly bobs under the magic only to be hit in the chest by twilights magic and be sent flying into the ground.

Melody groans “oof that was a good hit” melody exclaims as her mind races knowing she can’t take both twilight the princess of magic and starlight the most damn op unicorn she’d ever met.

She obviously couldn’t run either. She’d either have to take them both out with one shot or separate them. She knew she couldn’t take them both out in one shot she wasn’t very powerful in regular magic only siren magic.

Unless melody had a thought the icicles at the entrance to the cave were to fall on them somehow. So if she manages to push them back she could win.

So she began her barrage of attacks hoping to knock them back only for every single shot to be blocked by force fields and magical shots that deflected and blocked.

After a few more blasts of magic melody began to realize that they are too powerful for someone like herself who had intermediate magical skills.

And that the alicorn and unicorn were truly some of the most skilled and talented magical creatures that had ever lived or would ever live.

She still thought she might be able to out think them but they were no pushovers when it came to brain power either.

Melody flips around and jumps out of the way of the most recent magical blast from twilights horn and blasts back towards the alicorn.

Melody’s mind race’s as she continues to bob and weave between the magical blasts. Her only thought is this is getting out of hoof and she needs to find a way to distract these magical nuisances.

She teleports behind the two friends and zaps at starlight with a laser it barely misses the purple unicorn and instead hits the ground behind her.

Starlight quickly shoots a blast back nicking melody’s back right knee. Making her howling in pain and anger.

Twilight uses this opportunity to send a magical blast into the ground making it shake and sending melody tumbling to the ground her legs having given out due to the rumble and the cut in her leg.

Twilight followed by starlight and they walk over to the fallen mare and then twilight speaks in a loud almost canterlot voice volume her tone full of anger saying: “YOU ARE THE REASON FORALL THIS PAIN AND ANGUISH. SO WHY DID YOU DO IT?”

Melody looks up in a surprisingly apologetic look and say’s “that wasn’t my intention....”

Twilight looks at her wondering what her goal was and opened her mouth to speak only for melody to continue speaking “....it was just a bonus”

And in that instant twilight’s rage returns her eyes narrow and all her sympathy disappears and she goes to deliver the final blow only for starlight to block it with a magical barrier.

“Wha— wait why save her?” Twilight says looking over at starlight angrily only for starlight to look back her tears gently falling from her eyes and say “because I don’t want you to change who you are for revenge— or for me....” starlight’s voice cracks at the or for me looking at twilight with her begging eyes.

Melody saw this momentary distraction and took the opportunity to zap her magic into the mountainside causing a landslide.

Twilight teleports to the side trying to magically grab her unconscious friends and pulling them out of the way as she does this starlights charges up her horn to teleport and help twilight only for melody to tackle the unicorn and wrestle her to the ground.

Melody pulls out the metal horn covering she still has and sticks it on starlights horn making starlight keel over in pain her as the land slide over takes her and melody.

Melody teleports away but starlight jabs up with her horn non covered in sharp metal and twists ripping off the tip of the metal as melody teleports some metal hanging out of her leg as she screams blood pouring out.

Melody then transports back to the rebel camp into her tent still screaming in pain.

Meanwhile starlight is buried and pushed off the cliff by the snow and rock as twilight looks on in horror unable to do anything due to the fact she was flying above barely holding up her unconscious friend’s with her magic as it is.

One hour later:

Twilight sat on the freshly buried snow her other friends just barely stirring from their unconscious state.

Twilight starts to sob she’s looked for her friend but hadn’t found any sign of her once pupil or her body....

The girls start to wake up starting with fluttershy who rushes over and try’s to cheer up the sobbing twilight.

“It’s okay it’ll be alright” she says lightly patting twilight’s mane as the rest of their friends wake up to twilight’s sobs and fluttershy’s sweet comforting words.

“Starlight...... no no” starlight sobs her voice cracking at every word.

No pony had ever seen twilight this broken or sad before and honestly it was an awful sight for her friends who were unsure what to do.

After lots more crying twilight stopped and simply stares off into the distance without a word.

Applejack grabbed the other girls and her and spike explained the truth about starlight and her return to “evil”

The girls slowly approach their friend who was staring off the cliff her face still streaked With tears.

To be honest after hearing the truth and knowing starlight wasn’t the villain or even at fault for this whole thing they too felt like crying but they knew it was no good and that they should mourn later after this whole mess was over.

However fluttershy and pinkie pie still had small drops falling out of their eyes and
rarity and unexpectedly rainbow dash were in the verge of tears as well but barely holding them in.

“Darling are you okay?” Rarity asks quickly scolding herself at the stupid obvious question.

“What she means is. Is their anything wah can do twi?” Applejack says jumping into the conversation.

Twilight remains motionless staring off the cliff and at the mountains her head slightly twitching as her friends talked to her.

Pinkie sob’s out “I was the worst possible friend ever I didn’t even doubt it was her for a moment.”
Her pure despaired tears streaming down her face.

“No.......” twilight says finally speaking in a small voice.

All the girls look at twilight their concern overwhelming their guilt and pain.

“I was. I should’ve done more for her” twilight says her voice hoarse and full of pain as she spoke through the pain of her loss.

Twilight looks up at her friends her eyes a blurry bloodshot color and her look one of pure loss and anguish but quickly changed to a look of anger as she stutters out “melody” her tone angry at the mere thought of that monster and her thoughts clouded with vengeance.

“We’ll catch her and when we do I’ll personally beat her down” spike exclaims through gritted teeth upset about starlight but more upset about how it was affecting twilight who was the closest he had to a family.

“No” twilight firmly spoke her voice suddenly filled with determination and righteous anger.

“What ever do you mean darling?” Rarity asks unsure why twilight would ever wanna let melody go without punishment or capture.

Twilight looks up her gaze meeting rarity’s and says in the most clear headed and serious tone “we won’t capture her cause I’m gonna kill the bitch”

To say her friends were shocked was an understatement such language and hate was nothing like twilight but still she seemed steadfast and unwavering.

Meanwhile at the bottom of the mountain a small gray Pegasus mare flaps towards the bottom of the landslide.

After all she was the most experienced mail mare equestria had ever seen so of course she had escaped the rebels.

I mean after all she clearly supported the princesses why else would she risk her life for twilight when the storm kings army appeared.

So the gray mail mare made her way up the mountain hoping to find another pony to take home with her so she wouldn’t be the only adult at her camp......

Oh boy derpy has entered the story and now starlights dead?

Melody is injured and twilight has tunnel vision and bloodlust......
