Memories Need To Be Forgotten
Twilight Sparkle could hardly stand. She was about to be crowned the princess of Equestria. When her fiancee, Music Mane, had died, so did Celestia. Cadance was so wounded she couldn't be the royal ruler, Luna was scarred from her sons death, and the other princess, Midnight Dancer, hadn't recieved a choice. The duchess of Equestria it was.
She stood behind the scenes, watching Midnight sulk in the corner. She gave a helpful smile, but it was returned with a furious mouthing of "That should be my crown."
Memories flooded back suddenly.
Two young ponies ran from one wing of the castle to the other, hoping they wouldn't be late. He was trying his hardest to use a teleportation spell he'd learned, she was just rushing, since using unauthorized magic was prohibited. His horn sparked and failed, except then a random ball of light engulfed him and he was gone. Twilight kept running, ignoring the obnoxious boy, who broke all the rules. By the time the chimes rang, she was in the other wing, and running faster. She spotted the boy again, soaking wet, escorted by two guards. "Your mum will be mighty displeased to hear about this." The older one said.
The boy's head bowed. He was being led to class! She snickered and entered the classroom, where Celestia and two friends of hers stood, Waddle and Silver Shine. She watched the green colt enter. "Princess. This fool teleported to the top of the tower, then he teleported into the pond. We stopped him before he could cause anymore chaos. We're incredibly sorry on his behalf." The younger gaurd, who's helmet hardly fit, and his armor clanked, said. Celestia looked at the young pony, whose eyes glistened.
"He's excused." She said. "Take a seat."
Tears began to stream from Twilight's eyes. "I can't do it! I'm not the right princess! Give the crown to Midnight Dancer!" She sobbed, taking off her dress. The stylists eyes widened and they rushed to make changes. Midnight was very soon dressed and ready to go. They sent her up on the balcony, and Twilight stood behind her as Archbishop held the crown above her head. The normal messy mop was piled on top of her head. "Duchess Midnight Dancer of Canterlot, do you promise to uphold the law, create the new laws, and lead our citizens through the thick and thin?"
Memory flash.
He was on the balcony again. She had climbed up a ton of stairs to see him in his chamber, but he was on the balcony. "GO AWAY!" He screamed.
She nearly turned around and left. He was in a mood. Music Mane was set to be locked in this chamber for a thousand years. He was a time guard, meaning he had to protect the time portal that led through Equestria and a new nation, Pandora. She looked at him, sitting alone, moonlight on his mane. He spun around, tears streaking his young face, and screamed again, "GO AWAY!"
Twilight had to keep herself from crying. "Yes, I promise." Midnight Dancer said, eyeing the crown.
"Do you promise never to abandon your citizens, and if you shall, your crown shall be stripped and you will be executed? Do you promise?" The archbishop asked, citizens below holding thier breath, everything silent except for his words.
"Yes, I promise." She gulped. Cheering and then eerie silence.
Memory flash.
"I'm so glad you could come out of that smelly chamber for a night of fun!" She said, watching him observe the night plaza. He took every step looking around, tripping constantly.
The prince/time guard stared at the stars then the cafe, then a street lamp. "I'm a prince, not a captive. I can't believe it." Twilight was still getting used to 'Prince Music Mane's' terrible attitude.
He had a sour attitude and a temper. He was a spoiled brat. She frowned. "I'm tired of this 'I'm a prince' act. It's getting old. Everyone knows it."
"I'm getting tired of it too." He sighed.
The crown floated down to Midnight's head. "PLEASE WELCOME THE NEW PRINCESS OF EQUESTRIA! PRINCESS MIDNIGHT DANCER OF CANTERLOT!" The archbishop shouted.
The deafening hoof stomps and cheers could be heard over Ponyville. Pegasi floated over the crowd. Twilight could feel herself becoming even more angry. Here was a girl whose brother had died, felt happy because she could become the new princess, and yet, she appeared sad for the crowd when asked about her brother.
It sickened her.
Memories Need To Be Forgotten
"I'm confused. I can't think of anything." She said, gazing at his gravestone. She started to cry. "You and Celestia. Music, I don't even know who my parents were! I've been left with hardly anything, and nobody is helping me. I feel like I dropped thirty glasses at once and nobody is helping me pick up the pieces. Even my friends aren't helping. I miss you too much. It's just... I can't believe you just died."
She lied on the grave, sobbing until a hoof touched her. She looked behind her and saw Rainbow Dash and her friends. "We're sorry we haven't been more supportive. We thought with you being the new princess, you might not want to be bothered. But after what we saw yesterday, we thought you might need a helping hoof." Applejack said, hugging her friend. For a moment after, they all stood staring at the grave.
Twilight just looked and looked until Fluttershy gently tapped her and asked, "I said, are you alright?" Twilight looked at her friends, who looked worried.
"I'm fine."
Memory flash.
They pressed against each other. "Are you okay? Tell me you're okay." He said, looking into her lavender eyes, his face clouded with worry. They kept pressing against each other. She nodded. "No, tell me."
She stuttered, "I'm okay. I'm alright. It was just some freaky time burst. I'm fine." The time portal had leaked Pandora's evils. He held her close.
"They're gone. All of them. Every last one." He said, holding her tighter. He was going to be killed. Or locked up. He hadn't stopped the time burst.
"Twilight! Are you okay darling? You seem to be having these odd little periods where you just blank!" Rarity asked. She tapped Twilight again. The purple pony looked at the ground and tears began to slide down her cheeks.
