I'm very sorry to bother you, but during the requisitioning of the classified files of the River Coalition, we found a number of things useful for the Ministry of Propaganda and Artic People's Education.

My name is Eugene Hermann, I am a penguin born in 993, in a small village north of Coltovac, north west of the River Republic.
Infact, we are a race of penguins, originally from the frozen south, who migrated to these lands hundreds of years ago, who have no nations because we were too busy killing ourselves for ridiculous differences.
Appreciated for our small size, we were quickly treated as a slave to work in places difficult to access, such as in the iron mines where my parents work.

It is therefore from today that I will keep this journal. Even though I don't like this idea too much, and I don't think I write in it often, I intend to take care of it and pay the most attention to it.

Arrived on the southwest coast of Griffonia about two months ago, I do not know where to go, and I am lost in the middle of a world far too big for my small shoulders of an 11 year old kid.

Always training for boxing, winning more and more matches, having an origin that challenges and thanks to my young age. I am fed and housed by my club and I can finally devote myself entirely to boxing.
More and more people come to see my matches, and my coach even told me that I might be going to a tournament in Dachaigh in a few months if I continued to improve.
But now I'm finally in Dachaigh, and really, what is beautiful, the cobbled streets, the houses, the bistros. It sounds so peaceful, I have never seen anything so charming.
I showed my boxing skills, and I'm pretty proud of it knowing I'm only 13 years old. Too bad I have to leave tomorrow...

I just realized that it's been 3 years since I wrote anything, time flies so quickly... I'm 16, and I finally live in Dachaigh, having become quite famous here, a coach finally offered to join him, I accepted with pleasure.

I cannot believe the violence engendered in this war as each of my companions I balance between terror and rage. We are ordered to withstand the assaults of the griffins which attack us several times a day and night.

Armed with a simple rifle, I have the obligation to hold a strategic point with my brothers night and day.
The griffins, give all they have to beat us, they have heavy weaponry, mortars, heavy machine guns, sometimes there are even tanks targeting us.
Some days we must to hold on our reserves, have to economize our ammunition. Sometimes we are not even supplied with food for several days.

I spent 6 months on the front line, barely spared a few days of rest. The enemy artillery as well as its tanks terrifies me.
I was one of the 62 survivors of my regiments, out of 250 engaged, all of whom disappeared in one day, during a bloody counter-offensive, in an attempt to end the conflict that never ends.
A Hermann never gives up, nor a legionary. I am promoted with the rest of my comrades who survived the 1st Infantry Regiment of the Foreign Legion.

Thanks to an offensive that I led and which was a great success, I was promoted a month ago to the 49th Infantry Regiment of the Arctic Army. Me, the rejected pinguin of Griffonia, I am enlisted in the most powerful army in the world alongside my new Arctic brothers.
On December 22, I arrive at the Onear Mountain, a massacre like I had never seen before. Worse than a slaughterhouse, I was told that we came here to peg out.
With my jaw and leg punctured, I was taken to a makeshift hospital in Groenstein.
I receive the Steel Cross. But it is then impossible for me to return to the front for at least 8 months. But there is no question for me to abandon all my comrades over there.

By re-reading my lines, I must admit that they were right, this journal has helped me a lot even if I am not a great writer.

Thanks to that, I now live in Weter, it's impressive how quickly we are able to rebuild this city. I have an apartment in the center of town, and I got married to the daughter of an earl of Dachaigh.

Thanks to government grants, I invested a lot, and had to work tirelessly and hard to make this investment hold.

Truly, I thought the last lines above would be the last lines of this little journal, but obviously it won't. I'm not very young anymore, but I'm still in good shape, and I'm not the only one who thinks so.
I got a letter from the Artic Empire, and they need every veteran they can get. It seems that, Equestria, who we beat a few years ago now, want to fight again.
The letter specifies that their princess named Celestia, would have escaped from Dachaigh and would be reforming an immense army, the garrisons there would be annihilated.
The Arctic army being in campaign on a kind of large continent further south, their only solution is to form another elite army to bring down Equestria for ever.
It is with pleasure that I will help the Artic Empire again, I will leave tomorrow normally.

It's a real race against time, but it looks like we're off to a good start, according to the latest news, counting the allies, we are almost 2 or 3 times more numerous than our enemies.
We are on our way to Equestria, we left early this morning, we are preceded by the changeling army which has taken the advance.
To put it simply, the main goal is to locate the ponies army before they see us, in order to take them in pincers, our army will attack from the front and the changelings, must attack from behind.
I was appointed adjutant of a small mechanized infantry regiment, my role will be to, supported by heavy artillery, to pierce the enemy lines from the sides if the main lines were to be in difficulty.

I did not have time to write, to tell the truth everything happened so quickly during this terrible battle, because everything did not go as planned.
On the 11th of this month, the equestrian army attacked our left before our troops could be put in positions, the day was certainly to their advantage.
The wonderbolt division, which was the only elite division they had reformed, attacked one of our infantry squares with such impetuosity that they managed to break it.
The same day, Celestia attacked the changeling army which had not had time to join us, with part of her army. Celestia made an extraordinary and most brilliant maneuver.
She gathered all the wonderbolts in a single mass, charged on the center of the changeling army, took about twenty tanks and all the artillery. The changelings were routed, and according to the confession of Chrysalis a few days later, lost 15,000 soldiers.

Anyways, let's continue. It was about 4 p.m., the enemy had made a great effort but we had held him in check everywhere. Around 6 p.m., we noticed that it was forming into infantry and armored columns, its tanks approaching us.
He opened a fire, the most terrible, I believe, that has ever been heard in war. Over 500 tanks lined up, tight, throwing shells and grape-shot. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the amount of dead penguins and ponies made it difficult to navigate the grounds.
Supported in addition by her terrible artillery, Celestia advanced at the head of her elite guard, the wonderbolts in columns on the left, the royal guards on the right. They marched in the greatest order to our lines, there they halted and began to fire.
