Let it be known that the following tales and scriptures of ages long since past in a world so very far away are not of my own making. The author of this book is and always will be professor Dusty Tomes of Canterlot University.

In spite of the controversial statements of the author, this book remains one of Canterlot Castle Library's most treasured and well-preserved relics. Ever since it was first penned by professor Tomes, it is still to this day conscidered the most detailed and honest depiction of King Sauron of Equestria since his ascent to the throne.

Given professor Tomes' recent passing, he wanted his recording of the reign of King Sauron of Equestria to be published at last. As to make it easier for readers who do not speak ponish, Quenya, Sindarin, Telerin, Adûnaic, Khuzdul, Black Speech or Westron, I was given the task of translating this historical text to modern day english for the readers of the human world.
