Chapter 1
The Virus
This morning was like any other morning for Rarity. Waking Sweetie Belle for school, having a small (calorie free) breakfast, and getting ready for her usual walk to the spa. Rarity stared out the window and did not see any Pegasus in the sky to fend of the storm clouds.
“Well it has been some time since we had rain.”
she said to herself quietly not paying any mind.
“Sweetie, you should take an umbrella with you to school, looks like its going to rain.”
“Thanks for the input caption obvious,” Sweetie said with a snare while stuffing down what pancakes she had left on her plate.
“Well I’ve never… Sweetie what’s the problem.”
“Well Scoots and Apple bloom didn’t show up last night for the CMC sleepover, I was really exited for this and they both said they would show up, but I guess I’m not that important,” Sweetie said in one breath.
“Well maybe something came up and they both needed to be with family."
Rarity said taking a moment to try and remember if Scootaloo even had a family.
“Yeah maybe your right…” Sweetie said with a sigh.
“You better head to school if you don’t want to be late again, Miss Cheerilee said she wont take another tardy.”

Rarity and Sweetie Belle both said the goodbyes as Sweety headed for school and Rarity headed for the spa. Rarity watched Sweetie Belle until she could no longer see her.
Rarity already knew that Fluttershy wont be able to make it to there usual spa day, so she had to make the best of it by herself.
“It seems all to quiet, even for a day like this, I have not seen a single pony yet today.” Rarity said to herself.
As she entered the center of town she noticed a homeless colt staring at her in the most unworldly way. He just did not look right. “That’s rather creepy,” once again talking with nopony.
Soon she found herself in front of the day spa. She pushed in to find a body, pool of blood, and a rancid smell in the air. Rarity could only stare at the devoured mare on the floor. “Aloe!?” screamed Rarity almost in tears.
She ran to her only to find the mare tore and mangled beyond being recognized. The blood and innards all around the poor mare made Rarity want to vomit. She sat there for what felt like hours, crying.
After she pulled herself together she noticed another pool of blood, but no body. There was a blood streak that lead to behind the counter. Rarity could only imagine what she would find at the end of that blood trail. She slowly looked around the corner and almost fainted at a mangled and cut open pony.
“Lotus!?” As soon as she said that she heard the pony grunt and start to move. Rarity ran up to her trying not to step in the blood that surrounded the pony.
“Lotus!!”, “Lotus answer me please.” Rarity was trying not to cry but couldn’t help herself. Then she got an answer. “Miss Rarity, is that you,” Lotus said in a whisper. Rarity’s heart skipped a beat. “Yes Lotus its me, just please hold on ill go get help,” Rarity said as she started to get up. “No, its no use, its already spread to the young colt that works here. He attacked me and Aloe, I managed to fight him off, but Aloe was too weak, and he took her life.”
“Wait… What’s it?”
A tear rolled down the cheek of the masseuse. “ You should leave and find somewhere to hide before Aloe and I turn into one of them.”
Rarity stood there trying to decide on what to do. “Please leave Miss Rarity… please!!!”
“I cant leave you like this I need to get you help.” Rarity said trying to manage her tears. “Its too late for me know dear… now I’m begging you please leave before he returns.” “But…” “GO!!!”
Rarity turn and ran out the front doors and ran strait for the library. “Maybe Twilight knows What the hell is going on here.

***About 45 minutes earlier***
Sweetie Belle watched as Rarity stared at her as she walked away, finally leaving her site. “I swear Rarity can be just like mom sometimes.”
On her way to school, she felt alone because her usual trip was accompanied by Scoots and Apple Bloom. She was mad at them, but she wished they where there all the same.
She soon came up to the bottom of the hill that the school house was on. As she made her way up the hill, she noticed a filly limping around the schools entrance.
As she got closer, she saw this filly bleeding out the mouth. Concerned, she ran up to what looked like Silver Spoon and stopped as soon as she saw her face.
Silver Spoon growled and lunged at Sweetie Belle. “Silver what are you doing, your scaring me,” That did not stop the delusional pony from trying to take A bite from Sweetie.
As she was being pursued, Sweetie ran to the door of the old school house, but the door was barricaded.
She tried with all her might to open but found no use in trying.
Sweetie gave up and was going to let Silver do her will when the door behind her flue open and somepony pulled her in. In the blink of an eye there was Miss Cheerilee pushing her desk in front of the door that she was just pulled through.
“Miss Cheerilee what’s going on here?” Sweetie said as she dried the tears from her eyes. “I have no idea dear but its not normal.” said Cheerilee in a more neutral tone than Sweety Belle was expecting.
The magenta mare looked Sweetie dead in the eye and asked, “Have you been bitten?” “No, but Silver tried to, where are the rest of the fillies?” Sweety asked. “Dead or hiding I presume.”
“What are we going to do in the mean while?” Sweety asked. “We will have to wait for help… if it ever comes.”
