On one relaxing, rainy, Friday night Adagio Dazzle found herself around town just walking the streets. She loved these kinds of nights. The sound of the rain falling, hitting whatever made for this strange relaxing music in her ears while she headed to one of her favorite places in town in this type of rainy weather. The sound of the bell ringing and fresh smell of coffee hitting her nose was always a good transition to.
"Oh, Adagio? Welcome back. The usual?"
"You know it, Joe. How's the business this week?" Adagio asked while taking her seat at the counter and putting her umbrella down.
"It's normal as always, same customers same times, different problems on each day. However, someone new came in a few hours ago and hasn't left since then" Joe stated directing Adagio to the new customer. Adagio set her eyes on the customer and it was someone she would recognize anywhere. Right now that someone seemed to be deep in their own thoughts behind their pink hair.
"Fluttershy? What's she doing here?"
"You know her?" Joe asked.
"Yeah. Guess I'll go say hi."
"Have fun," Joe said, waving Adagio off.
The closer Adagio got to Fluttershy the more she realized how deep into her own world she put herself into. Being in one's own head creates a tight-rope one must walk because if you walk off the cycle of second guessing and self doubt happens. That could be a very stressful situation to get out of without a very hard reset of some kind and from the look Fluttershy gave Adagio it looked like Fluttershy needed some help. The first step involved pulling Fluttershy's hair hard enough for her to notice. Which she did.
"Ow! What the!- A-Adagio? What are you doing here? And why did you do that?!" Fluttershy asked, rubbing her head and watching Adagio take her seat across from her.
"Well, to answer your first question: This is my favorite coffee shop in town. The reason I pulled your hair is because you needed it. So, what's bugging you?" Adagio asked, taking a sip of her coffee.
Fluttershy looked at Adagio with a little confusion "Nothing. Okay, well, I might have a slight problem that I've been trying to solve for a while now."
"Wanna talk about it?" Adagio replied. Fluttershy didn't answer right away. In fact she seemed to slip back into her head trying to figure out how to proceed next. Luckily, this did not last long.
"Sure. Just promise to keep it between you and me okay?" Fluttershy asked nicely. Adagio nodded along allowing Fluttershy to continue. "I want to ask someone out on a date…" Adagio chuckled, making Fluttershy hide behind her hair.
"Okay. You don't know how to approach that person and you're afraid that they'll say no right?" Adagio responded. Fluttershy didn't have to do anything because Adagio knew the answer already. "Do you mind giving me some hints on who this mysterious person you want to date?" Adagio questioned curiously. To Adagio's surprise Fluttershy slightly jumped backwards and went red in the face.
"No! No let's not go there. I just need help asking this person out!" Fluttershy quickly spoke. With that reaction Adagio guessed who this person was Fluttershy must've had her eyes on them for a while.
"I know it's against your nature, but you tried walking up to that person and just asking 'will you go out with me'?" Adagio took another sip of her coffee and waited for Fluttershy to answer. Although she knew the answer and had a quick backup plan for that answer.
"Like you said it's against my nature. I'm too nervous around her." Fluttershy's hand moved to her mouth the moment that last word came out of her mouth. Adagio went from listening to being very interested in record time.
"Her? It's a girl? Color me surprised, Fluttershy hehe~" Adagio said with a grin and obvious tease at the end. Fluttershy blushed and cursed herself for letting that out, but now she had no choice but to continue. "So, what do you know about this girl then? Is she hot?" Adagio asked.
"I.. Yes.. She's hot" Fluttershy responded hiding behind her hair.
"How hot are we talking?" Adagio quickly questioned.
"I thought you were trying to help me. Not make me think about her even more."
"Right. Right. My apologies-" Adagio waved off. "So, tell me more. What makes her so hard to approach?" Adagio asked curiously.
Fluttershy took a sip of her drink before speaking.
"The way she carries herself. Always confident without being overwhelming, she has this very unique way of caring about others, but on the surface level it seems like she doesn't really care about other people and did I mention she has a very nice smile? I could go on, however I don't want to give away too much, you know?" Fluttershy stated before taking another sip of her drink.
Adagio nodded "Hmmm, you're not giving me much to work with here, sweetie, but I understand your feelings. It can be frustrating to tackle a problem if you think it's big enough.-" Adagio then smiled at Fluttershy making the already nervous girl more so. "So, again what's stopping you from asking me out again?" Adagio asked with pure confidence. If Fluttershy could jump into a different plane of existence she would. Her stuttering and complete inability to hide a secret told Adagio her earlier assumption had been correct and witnessing Fluttershy's breakdown filled Adagio with joy. After a moment or two of trying to recover from Adagio's sudden and completely correct question, Fluttershy struggled to find the correct words.
"You're such a cheater…" Fluttershy spoke under her breath and hid behind her hair. Adagio's following chuckle did not help the situation.
"Sorry, Fluttershy, but you make it way too easy for me. Also, coming to my favorite shop in town? That's kinda a dead give away don't you think? Especially at this time" Adagio asked Fluttershy. The moment Fluttershy realized what Adagio said is the moment her head came down, meeting the table in embarrassment.
"Yeah, you're right. I don't know, I just-- winged it or something.." Fluttershy's head stayed on the table until Adagio reached over and brought it up to meet her eyes. "Pretty.." Fluttershy whispered which made Adagio grin and Fluttershy hide behind her hair again.
"You do it to yourself, Sweetie hehehe. But seriously, why haven't you just walked up to me and straight up asked?" Adagio asked with curiosity. Fluttershy came out from hiding after working up the courage to keep going with this embarrassing conversation.
"I honestly thought you would brush me off and I wouldn't blame you. I'm me and well, you know the rest." Adagio agreed with Fluttershy's answer, but still had something to say.
"Well, your feelings didn't stop you from coming all the way here and talking to me about it anyway soo…" Adagio tilted her head slightly. She made it clear she wanted Fluttershy to get this emotional baggage off her shoulders.
"Because I wasn't thinking! And…-" Adagio put a finger on Fluttershy's lips interrupting the girl.
"Just say the words and I promise you'll feel better" Adagio stated, very slowly taking her finger away from Fluttershy's lips. Fluttershy bit her bottom lip. She felt her heart beating at the top speed of a supercar and again Adagio's sudden slightly sexy grin didn't help the situation.
"A-aa-adagio?"
"Yesss?" Adagio erotically replied making Fluttershy's job harder.
"W--will… You.. Gooutwithme!?" Fluttershy asked in the only way she could without passing out from sheer embarrassment.
"See? That wasn't so difficult was it?" Adagio asked, already knowing the answer. Fluttershy's blushing face hid behind her hands because she couldn't believe she just spoke those words. Adagio chuckled at the sight. She thought about getting Fluttershy to ask the question again, but she got a better idea instead; "Sure" Adagio said. Fluttershy jumped up.
"Excuse me!?"
"I said sure. I mean a date or two wouldn't hurt. Besides, how can I say no to a sweet thing like y--" Instantly Fluttershy pulled Adagio into a very happy hug.
"Oh thankyouthankyouthankyou, Adagio! I promise you won't regret this!" Fluttershy happily tightened her hug before Adagio gently pushed her off.
"Just make sure you don't tell anyone about this. For obvious reasons okay?" Adagio asked Fluttershy. Fluttershy nodded and sealed her lips.
