The sun shone through the curtains of Twilight's castle and into her room. The warm sun caused her to open her eyes and lean up in bed letting out a yawn as she prepares for today. Opening the window to take a deep breath of fresh air, she breathes in the crisp autumn air, she admires the trees which are painted various colors of red, brown, orange, and yellow.
Twilight steps back from the window and into her bathroom, taking a quick shower to get ready for today, it has been five years going on six since Celestia and Luna retired and Twilight has settled in great. She's been able to stay in Ponyville with the help of a commute spell that transports her to and fro, Rarity uses the same spell for her endeavors. Using a brush Twilight washes her mane with lavender scented shampoo and works out the tangles. After a short shower, Twilight steps out and starts to dry her mane with a towel, looking in her mirror she looks at a little piece of paper hanging on wedged between the frame and the glass. Twilight levitates the paper to her and written on the front are the words "Extra/Reminder" Twilight then proceeded to gently open it, inside were the words.

Twilight smiles as she looks at the calendar, today is that date. She goes to put the extra when a knock is heard at her door. "Come in." chimed the purple alicorn as she continued to smile. Spike comes in holding a quill and parchment as he jotts stuff down.
"Morning Twilight, Pinkie and I are almost done setting up the wedding, but I do have a question. Why get married in the fall?" Spike asked as he informed Twilight of the preparations.
Twilight just smiled and gathered some papers before answering. "You'll see at the wedding." Twilight said as she hugged Spike. "I have to handle some things in Canterlot, can you handle things here?" Twilight asked as she readied her horn.
Spike saluted Twilight to show that he can and she teleported away to handle the business in Canterlot.
Spike made sure everything was clean in the castle before working on the wedding checklist. He went to Sweet Apple Acres to check on the food preparation which was going swimmingly. Applejack had set aside enough of their finest apple cider for all of Ponyville and those who were attending.
"Well howdy there Spike, how've ya been?" Applejack asked as she kept track of the supplies and baked goods being shipped.
"I'm good." Spike said as he threw his arms around Applejack in a hug. "It's been a few months since we've seen each other, but it's still hard to believe that we always find time to talk more often than once a moon." Spike said beaming with joy.
"Yeah, it's been real nice to keep in close touch." Applejack agreed as she checked somethings off the list as Spike did the same. "Well Spike, I think I'm gonna take the rest of the day easy, I can't wait to see Twilight hitched." Applejack said as she started to the barn.
"Ok, see you later " Spike said as he began to check on the second thing, the weather.
Spike got back into town and saw nary a cloud in the sky, save for one lone cloud and a cyan Pegasus lazily relaxing atop of it. "Hey, Rainbow." Spike called out snapping Rainbow out of her meditative state.
"Oh, heya Spike." Rainbow replied as she glided down after busting her fluffy perch. "Clouds are all gone, busted them in ten seconds flat...minus the one I was chilling on." Rainbow said sheepishly as she reported to Spike, today's going to be a beautiful day for Twilight and Flash, they look so cute together.
"Yeah they do, just please make sure it doesn't rain." Spike asked as he checked off the weather and started to go check on the decorations.
Inside Carousel Boutique Rarity was preparing the decorations with Sweetie Belle's help, the arch where the couple were going to be standing under, was adorned with white and red roses. Rarity noticed Spike as she put in the final rose. "Spiky Wikey, how are you doing darling?" Rarity asked as she gave her dragon friend a hug. Spike embraced the hug and after being released he checked on the decorations, they were all perfect, Sweetie Belle blushed as she saw Spike and tried to start up a conversation.
"H-hey Spike, beautiful day huh?" Sweetie Belle asked, trying to strike up a conversation.
"Yeah it is, it's warm and the sun is shining, and the autumn leaves are waving in the breeze, not to mention that crisp fall air." Spike replied with a tiny of blush on his face, he was planning on asking Sweetie Belle to dance with him at the wedding, just as they did at Twilight's brother's wedding, but this time they were older, he thought that Rarity was the gem of his eye, but it was Sweetie Belle.
Rarity sensing the tension saw an opportunity to have a little fun. "So when do you two plan on getting hitched?" Rarity jokingly asked as Sweetie Belle and Spike blushed bright red.
"R-Rarity!" Both of them said in unison as they blushed causing Rarity to laugh. "I'm sorry darlings, I just had to. I couldn't help but give my sister a hard time, you two are a cute couple and I just love seeing it." Rarity admitted as she nuzzled Sweetie Belle's head.
After calming down, Spike checked off the decorations. "Ok, I'm going to check on the music, I'll see you both later." He said as he walked on the door.
The last thing Spike checked on was the music, Fluttershy was near a tree conducting the birds in a dress rehearsal for when the wedding starts. Spike just listened as the birds chirped the wedding match in perfect harmony. After they had ceased Fluttershy noticed Spike standing there."Oh, hello Spike, I didn't see you there, the music is coming along great. I simply can't wait for this afternoon." Fluttershy said with a smile as Spike simply checked off the music.
"Me neither, the music is top notch." Spike said as he put the scroll away. "This is going to be the perfect wedding." Spike said as he left to get ready.
Spike walked around in front of town hall as he ran a double check on everything, the chairs were lined up perfectly on either side of a pristine white runway leading to the arch adorned with white and red roses, under the arch stood a podium where Mayor Mare would officiate the wedding. Standing in front of the podium dressed in a black tuxedo was Flash Sentry, his mane combed back, and a single red rose on his lapel. Ponies gather and take their seats, all except Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy who are standing near the podium in dresses tailored to their tastes. Twilight had asked each of them to be her maids of honor.
Spike realizing the time quickly ran back to the castle and got the ring, he placed it on a pillow and then got dressed himself. He remembers when he was asked to be the ring bearer and how nervous he was, but eventually his nerves subsided and he was ready.
After everypony has taken their seats, Mayor Mare takes her place at the podium as Fluttershy's birds start chirping "here comes the bride" in perfect unison, the attendees stand up as Twilight, dressed in a pure white dress made her way down the walkway escorted by her father and her brother, led by the cutie mark crusaders as the scattered flower petals in their path. When they get her to the podium, they shake Flash's hoof firmly as they take their seats next to their spouses.
Once the wedding march ceased Mayor Mare began the ceremony. "Dearly beloved, we are all gathered here today, to join these two in the bonds of matrimony. If anypony as any objections to these two being married, speak now or forever hold your peace." A deafening silence spread throughout the area before Mayor Mare continued.
"I'm sure some of you are wondering, why the wedding in the fall? Well as fall represents the end of summer, the death if you will, marriage represents beginnings, the birth of new life so to speak. Now before we join these two in marriage, I believe they have written vows." Mayor Mare would say before letting Twilight speak.
"Flash, when I first became a princess, love was the last thing on my mind, I thought I didn't have time for love, but now, I can't imagine being away from you, and with this ring, I am happy to make you my husband." Twilight said being short and sweet as she took the ring from Spike and placed the it on Flash's wing. Mayor Mare then moved to Flash for his vows.
"Twilight, when I first saw you, I fell in love with you, but was too afraid to tell you, I'm very happy we ended up together, and I promise, I'll be there for you whenever you need me, I'll be your shield and with this ring, I am happy to make you my wife" Flash said as he takes the other ring from Spike and places the it on Twilight's horn with her tearing up at his words.
"Now then, Do you Flash take Twilight to be your lawfully wedded wife, to hold and to cherish, through good times and bad, through sickness and health, until death do you part"? Mayor Mare would ask Flash who responded with an "I do." She proceeded to ask Twilight the same and was met with the same response. "Then by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you mare and stallion, you mare kiss the bride." Mayor Mare finished as Twilight and Flash sealed their union with a kiss, among the attendees Shining Armor was crying tears of joy at seeing his little sister married.
At the reception ponies were dancing, Spike deciding now it the right time approaches Sweetie Belle and asked her to dance, they share a dance together under the stars as Twilight prepares to throw the bouquet, as the bridesmaids line up Twilight tosses the bouquet overhead only for it to be caught by Sweetie Belle who gives Spike a loving look.
