//-------------------------------------------------------// Equestria Girls: Street Outlaws -by Akula966- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Street Racing At It's Core //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Street Racing At It's Core "Girls, hurry! It's about to start!" Sunset called over to her friends, who were all gathered in the kitchen digging into the pizza that had just been delivered, and turned back to the TV. It was the middle of June, the first month after high school. Just a few weeks prior, Sunset and the girls had finally graduated from Canterlot High School, and they were celebrating with their first post-high school slumber party, hosted by the former unicorn herself. What better way to celebrate then order pizza and sitting down to watch the newest TV show to take the world by storm, Street Outlaws. The show followed a gang of street racers from Oklahoma City, known simply as the 405, as they competed for the coveted number one spot on their list. "We're coming darling" Rarity took a seat on the couch next to Sunset, a slice of pizza on a plate and a glass of water in the other "Oh, I do hope Big Chief can race his way back up the list." "Yeah right. There's no way he's getting by Daddy Dave for the four spot" Rainbow Dash sat on the floor, close to the TV "I'm sure he's got Goliath tuned up great!" Typical Rainbow, cocky as ever. "She does have a point Rarity." Twilight sat in one of the chairs off to the side of the couch "Given his track record against Daddy Dave, I've calculated that Chief has a 47% chance of beating him if he wants to move up" She then took a bite out of her slice. "Y'all say what ya want, but that there Farmtruck sure is lookin' mighty strong." Applejack nodded as she took a seat next to Rainbow, who only gave the apple farmer an odd look. "Farmtruck, seriously? That hunk of junk was lucky to make it the number eight spot! Using the system to do it, and Dominator had a hurt car!" "Girls! It's starting" Sunset leaned forward in her seat as Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy joined the rest of them. "Just because we're dumbasses, don't mean you can be too. So DON'T do any of the **** we do at home" Big Chiefs voice read the same disclaimer he did at the beginning of every episode, with the usual censoring and everything. "Tonight, on Street Outlaws. Tempers flair as Doc and Kamikaze battle it out, causing them both to keep racing down. Jeff Lutz makes another crack at the list, and Farmtruck looks to defend his position" the introduction was complimented with video showing specific things and people when he talked. "I know he says to never try this at home, mostly due to how dangerous it is, but it honestly looks like a lot of fun!" Sunset couldn't help but glee over what had become her favorite show. Like Rarity, she had a liking for Big Chief, but it was his car that she loved: a 1969 Pontiac GTO Le Mans he calls The Crow. One of the fastest cars on the street, it was a nightmare to go up against. He had stalled out at the number five spot after racing his way back up the list. The episode started off as usual, with Big Chief and his best friend, fellow street racer Shawn Ellington, who drives the bad fast Murder Nova, a 1969 Chevrolet Nova that is all blacked out with red headlights, thus giving it it's name, discussing about the upcoming race night. "Oh oh oh, do you girls think that Shawn is going to go for the list?!" Pinkie could barely hold her excitement as she gobbled down what pizza she had. "I highly doubt it Pinkie" Rarity shook her head no as a response to the energetic girl "Last time we saw it, his car was in quiet a number of pieces as it were" The fashionista did feel for Pinkie, given the Murder Nova was her favorite car on the show. "I just wish they would get to the racing action already! I do like the show, but the racing is the best part!" Rainbow groaned as the episode continued, jumping around to each of the drivers, showing them tirelessly getting their cars better for the race ahead. "I just hope no one gets hurt this time. It really hurt watching Shane wreck his car again last week" Fluttershy meekly said, slowly eating her slice as the episode continued along. Finally, it got to the part where actual racing was going to happen. As always, Big Chief had everyone gathered for the drivers meeting "Wow! Is there anyway to build off of last week? Chuck and Ryan, you two idiots keep going at each other, yet you keep beating the third spot to keep having chances at the number one spot" Chief looked to the smallest guy among the group. "Just goes to show the Death Trap is badass fast!" Chuck boasted with a smile. His car, a 1989 Ford Fox Body Mustang, named Death Trap had rocketed up the list once he changed the car from a small tire car to a big tire car. He even held the coveted number one spot for a while before Ryan Martin in his red 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, aptly named the Fireball Camaro. "Yeah, sure, believe what you want Chuck." The man standing next to Chuck tuned in. It was Doc, one of the veterans of the street racing community in Oklahoma City. He drove a 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo he named The Street Beast, was stuck back at number 6. "Alright, ladies, if we're done arguing?" Chief got everyone's attention "So, Kamikaze has a call out on Doc. Chuck, you have a call out on Ryan. I have a call out on Dave. Am I missing anyone?" "I do wish he would keep his language in check. They simply have no idea how a lady would act" Rarity hmphed and flicked her elegant purple hair with her hand, taking a sip of her water afterwards. That was when one of the men standing in the back raised his hand "Chief, I would like to call out Dominator for his number ten spot" The man was Jeff Lutz, a veteran street racer who had been on the list in the past and was finally ready to make another stab at it with his new car: a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air he simply calls The 57 Chevy. "Well, well, well. Welcome back Jeff Lutz, you crazy bastard." He then turned to Dominator "Your car finally ready?" "As ready as she'll ever be" Dominator nodded. The only man on the list with a car outside of General Motors, he drove his 1967 Dodge Dart, named, well, The Dominator, with pride. "Alright, then why don't you two start us off. You got twenty minutes" "Someone explain to me the rules again. He seems to change them every time" Sunset looked around the room to her best friends. It was true that Big Chief had a tendency of changing the rules to make things more interesting. Course, he could get away with it. "If I recall, the drivers have twenty minutes to get their car to the starting line. If they fail to do so, they forfeit the race, and the spot. If the challenger loses said race, they aren't allowed to call them back out until they have successfully defended their spot from the driver one spot below them.... You know, this is even confusing me" Twilight was able to recall most of the newest rule changes. Sure enough, both racers had their cars at the starting line. Big Chief carefully bumped them up to the starting line before backpedaling and 'banging' the flashlight, which was the drivers signal to go. Both cars rocketed off the starting line, going side by side all they way down the street and past the flashlight that marked the finish line in a dead heat. "Whoa Nelly! That was a mighty close race" Applejack blinked a few times before looking at the others "Did any o' y'all see who won that race" "I have no idea, they were pretty evenly matched" Sunset nodded, blown away by how competitive the two were against each other. Even to the naked eye, it was hard to tell. "Alright, what do ya got down there?" Chief radioed down to his line judge, who was reviewing the footage to determine a winner. "Dominator by a fender" came the reply. Dominator had managed to protect his number ten spot, thus allowing him to challenge the number nine spit if he wanted, but he determined his car needed a little more work before he even tried. "Dominator by a fender!" Big Chief bellowed for everyone to hear, which brought a mix of cheers and jeers form the gathered crowd. The rest of the night went rather smoothly. Doc had managed to defend his spot against Kamikaze, but had to wait for the outcome of Chief and Daddy Dave's race to have a shot of breaking back into the top five. The rematch between Chuck and Ryan was a blow out as Ryan was caught sleeping at the light and Chuck drove away from him, reclaiming the number one spot. Then it was time for the race the group of friends had been waiting for. Sunset and Rarity leaned forward in their respective seats as Big Chief pulled his beloved car to the starting line, opposite of Daddy Dave's 1963 Chevrolet Nova named Goliath. Doc maned the flashlight since both Chief and Dave were the ones racing. Bumping them in, he hit the light and the cars took off. It was pretty much neck and neck down till half way when Dave's car started getting loose on him. In order to avoid spinning out and damaging the car, he had no choice but to let up off the throttle. That allowed Chief to rocket away and win the race, and the number four spot. The girls jumped and cheered and their favorite driver won the race. Sharing a brief hug, Sunset could only shrug her shoulders at Rainbow, who was being a rather poor sport about the outcome, "Sorry Dash you can't win them all" The episode concluded with a run down of what to expect in the following weeks episode. After it was all said and done, Sunset turned the TV off and yawned "I don't know about you girls, but I'm pretty tired. Think it's time to turn in" "I agree darling. I do need my beauty sleep" Rarity let out a little yawn of her own, along with basically everyone else in the room. As everyone bid each other goodnight and turned in, Sunset lied awake on her bed for a little bit longer. Her brain just wouldn't stop picturing her and the others in place of Big Chief and the 405 guys. Rocketing down the street in highly tuned race cars. Even though the disclaimer said to never do what the guys did at home, but she couldn't help think how fun it would be. "I mean, if those guys are able to do it, then why couldn't we?" the bacon haired girl whispered to herself as her apartment was filled with the sounds of her friends slumber. She finally got her brain to shut up and she managed to fall asleep. Yet, what her brain kept thinking transferred over to her dreams. She had an idea, and she hoped her friends would like it as much as she did. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: You Want To Do What Now?! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: You Want To Do What Now?! The next morning soon came, and the group of girls were gathered around the table in the kitchen, enjoying a delicious breakfast cooked up by Applejack and Pinkie Pie. It was then that Sunset decided to tell her best friends her idea. "So, I was thinking last night. Why couldn't we do what those guys on Street Outlaws do?" The room suddenly went quiet as everyone looked at Sunset. The flamed haired girl looked around the room, taking in the shocked looks of her friends, and a soft blush formed across her face. It was Applejack who finally broke the silence, rubbing her forehead "Y'all want us ta do what now?!" "Now, just hear me out girls." Sunset held her hands up in defense at the suddenness of AJ's comment "I know I sound crazy, but I couldn't stop thinking of us doing what the 405 guys do. I mean, we've faced much worse then a bunch of street racers, so how hard could it be?" "Sunset, darling, you do remember the disclaimer at the beginning of each episode, right?" Rarity had set her fork down, reaching over and placing her hand on the former unicorn's shoulder "Sure, it looks fun, but street racing is also highly dangerous..... not to mention expensive" "Plus, we don't have any cars that would fit the means for street racing" Rainbow leaned her head against her fist as she looked over at Sunset "All our cars defiantly wouldn't stand up to the challenge" "Annnnnnd, we don't know the first thing about working on cars..... Well, except for maybe you and AJ' Pinkie quickly moved her hand between the two girls. So fast, it almost looked like a blur. In other words, typical Pinkie. It was indeed true. Since Sunset had come to the human world from Equestria, she had grown a fondness for the automobile. She had a particular love for old, classic muscle cars, thus why she was more interested in the cars the 405 guys raced more then the drivers themselves. So much so, that she came to know a local mechanic who let her help out every now and then, showing her a few things. "That maybe true, but I think Ranch maybe able to help us out." Sunset rubbed her chin in thought, giving her fashionable friend a smile for the fondness of putting her hand on her shoulder. "Um... who's Ranch?" Fluttershy had remained mostly quiet during the discussion, thinking it would be better to let the rest of her friends figure things out while she finished eating her breakfast. "Ranch Wider, he's a local mechanic that I sometimes help out with on the weekends. He's a former stock car driver as-" Sunset was cut short by a collective gasp from around the table. "Ranch Wilder? You mean THE Ranch Wilder?!" Rainbow's eyes were wide as she stared at Sunset "As in 5 time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Ranch Wilder?!" Clearly, Rainbow knew her race car drivers. Sunset, while taken aback slightly, quickly recovered her composure "Yes, the very same one. As you know, he retired a few years ago and moved here to open a repair shop. Sure, he could've gone into broadcasting, but he told me he wanted to slow down. Plus, said he always wanted to open up a repair shop." She nodded as her friends calmed down, taking in everything that Sunset had told them "There's a junk yard out behind his shop, maybe he has some cars that will work. So, what do you girls say?" The group remained silent for a short time, thinking over what Sunset had just proposed. It sounded very promising, plus it was something they could do together. This time, it was Rarity who spoke first "Oh, why not. I do admit that it does sound pretty fun. Plus, it means we can all do it together." The fashionista held her hand in the middle of the table, hoping the rest of her friends would do the same. "Ahh shoot, count me in" Applejack nodded, placing her hand on top of Rarity's. "Well, of course I'm in! This is going to be so awesome!" Rainbow quickly added her hand to the pile. Soon enough, Pinkie, Twilight and Fluttershy joined in the pile. The group of friends then looked at Sunset, smiling brightly. A smile that was reflected onto her face as she placed her hand on top "Alright then. After breakfast, We'll head over to Ranch's shop and see if he can help!" With that, the girls raised their arms into the air in triumph before getting back to eating their breakfast. As soon as the girls finished up their breakfast, they quickly changed and headed out the door. The decision was made for them too take two cars, those being Sunset's sedan and AJ's truck. Most of the girls climbed into Applejack's extended cab truck, while Rarity rode shotgun in Sunset's car. Finally getting themselves settled, AJ followed behind Sunset as they made their way towards the shop. "So, Sunset, seeing as how this was all your idea, I'm going to guess it involves the 405 somehow?" Rarity looked over at her dear friend, who mostly kept her eyes on the road. Sunset couldn't help but blush a little as they drove along "Like I said back at my apartment, I couldn't easily fall asleep last night because I kept.... imagining us being in place of the 405. And, I thought, if we got good enough..... we could challenge the 405 list with one of our own" Rarity's eye's went wide a little as she heard what Sunset had in mind for them to do with this, before taking the time to think it over "Well, it's a nice theory darling, but I do find one problem it" "What's that?" Sunset was suddenly a little concerned, not realizing that she had overseen a little detailed in her plan that, at the time, she thought was flawless. "Well, actually a couple. For one... I don't exactly see Fluttershy being up to doing this with us. Bless her heart.... but I just think asking her to street race is just a little.... too much for her." Rarity looked back towards AJ's truck, where the butter yellow girl sat in the backseat. "Yeah.... I guess your right. I honestly didn't think that part through enough." Sunset sighed as one part of her plan fell apart. She didn't take into consideration how Fluttershy would go along with it "I wanted us to hopefully put our own list together, to challenge the 405's list." "That raises the other problem. Even if Fluttershy would participate, that only leaves us with seven racers, without her it's six. Your wanting us to go up against a list of ten highly skilled racers, with many more years of experience, without a full roster of drivers ourselves" Now this one, Sunset had already thought ahead of how to tackle that problem "I was thinking of asking Ranch if he could possibly come out of retirement and race on our list. We could also ask around for other to fill out the remaining spots" She nodded, turning off the highway and headed towards the city. Rarity contemplated what Sunset had just said, going over everything in her head "Are you sure Ranch would be up to not only helping us build the cars, but race alongside us as well?" That part, Rarity wasn't sure about. "There's only one way to find out, right?" Sunset gave her very fashionable friend a smile as they continued along, nearing the shop. "I hope you know what your doing darling" After a few more minutes of driving, they soon pulled up to a two bay auto repair shop. It was still early in the morning, so not much was going on around the shop. A middle aged man was out front, lifting up the bay doors. He had slightly dark blonde hair with a darker streak of blonde going down the center, and was dressed how you'd expect a car mechanic to be dressed. Upon hearing the cars pull up, he turned and waved seeing it was Sunset and her friends. Said girl gave a wave back as she shut her car off and climbed out, Rarity getting out on the other side "Morning Ranch!" "Morning Sunset! Not use to seeing you here either this early or on a Saturday for that matter" he still smiled as he walked over to the group, the others having climbed out of AJ's truck. Upon reaching them, Ranch and Sunset proceeded to do a welcoming handshake, which included a few hand slaps, a fist bump, some jazz fingers and ended in a brief one armed hug "So, I'm going to assume these are your friends that you've praised about all the time?" "Yup, that's them." The fiery haired girl made a sweeping motion with her hand at her group of friends before introducing them individually "Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy" "Nice to meet you all. I'm Ranch Wilder" He tipped his ball cap at everyone, smiling warmly "So, what brings you by my shop this early on a Saturday?" "Well, ya see Mr. Wilder, It would be better ta let Sunset explain" Applejack nodded, moving her stetson hat up a bit off her forehead. "Well come on in." Ranch waved towards the front door and started off the rest of the girls soon following after him. They soon reached the office, where Ranch took the chance to sit behind his desk "So, what is that you want to talk about?" Sunset took a deep breath to help compose herself. It was now or never "Ranch, I know you've heard of Street Outlaws, seeing as how you've shown re-runs in the waiting area." The older mechanic nodded, already having an idea of where Sunset was going "So, after watching last night's new episode, I thought that we could start our own list." She pumped her fist a little for emphasis "But, in order to do that, we need your help" Ranch remained silent as Sunset explained why they had all shown up at his shop so early in the morning, thinking things over "You do realize how dangerous racing is, let alone racing on the street, right?" "We do, but we're behind Sunny 1,000%!!" Pinkie happily bounced in place, receiving nods of agreement from the collective group of girls. Ranch sighed a little, seeing that he wasn't going to be able to talk them out of it "Let me guess, you want to look out back too see if there's anything you can use, don't you?" He also had a feeling that he was going to be doing more then just helping the girls build their cars "And you want me to race on your list" "How did you know?" Sunset looked at Ranch, a little awestruck at the fact that he already knew what it was that she had planned on asking him. Course, she had known him long enough that he probably already knew before she even started talking. "I know you well enough by now Sunset. OK, I agree." He smiled at the group of girls as he stood up "Now come on, let's go see if we can't find you girls some suitable cars" As he walked out with the rest, Fluttershy stopped Sunset before she could follow them "Sunset.... can I talk with you for a moment" Just as Rarity had thought, Sunset could already see it in Fluttershy's eyes. The former student of Princess Celestia gave her shy friend a comforting smile as she placed her hand on the girls shoulder "Fluttershy, I already know what your going too say, and it's totally fine if you don't want to race. I figured it probably would't be for you. I understand" Fluttershy returned the smile with one of her own, before giving Sunset Shimmer a big hug "Thank you Sunset" A hug that she was more then happy to return "Your welcome Fluttershy. Now, let's go join the others and see what we can find." they soon walked out of the office and followed after their friends. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: In Every Junkpile, There Is A Gem //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: In Every Junkpile, There Is A Gem Sunset and Fluttershy soon joined the rest of their friends out in the junkyard. The early morning air gently breezing against their skin. The former unicorn took in a deep breath as she surveyed the sights of the junkyard. Old, wrecked cars stacked on top of each other as far as the eye could see. Some were destroyed behind recognition, while others look like they were still able to drive. The rest of her friends were already in the process of looking around the junkyard. Applejack and Rainbow Dash were busy digging through piles of scrap to uncover a few cars that, from a distance, looked like they would work. Rarity was basically doing the exact opposite, trying her best to not get herself dirty as she examined another car that looked in relatively good shape. Pinkie was nowhere to be seen, maybe off somewhere deeper in the towers of scrap. "Um, I'm going to go see if I can find Pinkie and maybe help her look for a car." Fluttershy nodded as she started off in the direction of a row of cars off to the side. "Let us know if you find anything!" Sunset called after her shy friend as she made her way towards Rarity, who was in the process of removing a piece of metal from the hood of the car she was looking at, "Here, let me give you a hand," "Oh, thank you darling" the fashionista smiled over at Sunset as they were able to drag the piece of metal off the hood, revealing the old muscle car beneath it, "I saw this as we exited the shop. I don't know why, but it seemed like it was calling too me, like it knew it was meant for me to use," Sunset got a better look at the car now that it was in the light of the early morning sun. While the body was a little rough, a few dents and sun damage to the paint, it looked fairly decent otherwise. "It seems to be a 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle. It was quiet the heavy hitter back in the day," the flamed haired girl bent down in front of the grill and wiped off the center, revealing a SS logo in the center "Better still, it's an SS model," "What does SS stand for?" Rarity had knelt down next to Sunset to get a look at what she was looking at, seeing the logo in the middle of the grill. "It stands for Super Sport. A more powerful version then the base model. usually coming with the huge 6.5 liter V8." Sunset was almost drooling as she showed her bit of knowledge on the muscle car. "You girls find something?" Ranch called over to the pair as he was helping Applejack clear away some junk from what looked to be a pickup truck that had defiantly seen better days. "I believe we can cross Rarity off the list. Found a Chevelle SS that's in pretty decent shape. Just needs a little body work and the necessary upgrades and it'll be ready for the streets." Sunset called back over to the former race car driver. Ranch soon made his way over to the old muscle car as Rainbow came over and helped Applejack clear away the rest of the junk from the pickup "That's one of the more recent additions. Old guy had been trying to restore it for the past twenty years, but could never afford all the necessary parts. Called me up and I hauled it off for him" He nodded as he put his hand on the hood, running it over the faded paint. Even through all the rust, a faded blue could still be made out, showing it being the former color. Sunset and Rarity nodded as Ranch told them the story behind the car. Rarity then turned her attention towards the car and, using her fashion expertise, was already envisioning what she could do to the car to bring it back to it's former glory. A smile broke out across her face as multiple ideas ran through her head "Oh yes, I can make this work," Sunset smiled, seeing the fashionista's enthusiasm behind working with the car "Hey, Sunset! Ah' think ah' found something!" Applejack called over to Sunset, who looked over to see the apple farmer waving for her to come over, and Rainbow standing there with her arms crossed. "What'd you find AJ?" Sunset then made her way over while Rarity and Ranch were discussing somethings in regards to her new Chevelle. "What'd ya think?" Applejack indicated back at the old pickup truck that she and Rainbow were working on uncovering. Sunset got a better look, and it defiantly looked to have seen better days. It was in much rougher shape then the Chevelle. The lower parts of the door was rusted through, rust had started eating into the rear wheel well. Dents perforated all along the body. Sunset cocked an eyebrow as she looked at Applejack, who was beaming brightly "A 1970 Ford F-100? OK, given, yes, it's something that has your name written all over it. Exactly how would a pickup truck be made to compete in street racing?" "Farmtruck," Was the only response Sunset got out of the apple farmer. The annoyed look on Rainbow's face told her that she didn't like the idea of having a pickup truck racing on their list. "So, your saying that because Farmtruck has an old Chevrolet truck on the 405's list, that we should have one on ours?" Sunset wasn't really surprised that Applejack would want to use a truck, but she was hoping that she would've found one in better condition. "Eeyup," AJ simply replied, mimicking her big brother's usual response and rubbing the Ford's rusty fender with a look of happiness etched onto her face. Ranch then approached, and caught a look at the apple farmer's find. "Nice find, that will make a nice 'false security' taste to you list," He stated, having overheard the conversation. And there was a kernel of truth in all of this. Farmtruck and his partner and buddy AZN were masters of misdirection, as Farmtruck's... well, Farmtruck looked old but was bad fast under the hood. AZN had his own car that followed this trend, a 1966 VW Beetle he called the Dung Beetle. The Dung Beetle may look rusty and old, but it had a 1000hp turbo-charged engine that could easily smoke any victims that the pair 'reel in'. Applejack's F-100 could have the same factor of surprise if a quick restoration job was done, but the engine was worked on the most. And given that she was such a big fan of Farmtruck, it made sense that she would want to be like him. Obviously, Dash was not a fan of this idea. "You CANNOT be serious! If you take this against the 405, or even us, you're going to get smoked seven ways 'till Sunday!" She argued at the farmer, clearly not happy about the idea of a truck in their list. "That's jus' the thing, Dash! They'll see the rusty body of this truck that be lulled into a false sense of security. And when it races, my opponent's jaws will hit the floor!" AJ argued back. "Okay, that's enough!" Ranch stated, stepping in between the two girls, "You made a mighty fine choice here, Applejack. This car is going to need de-rusting, some new body panels and some upgrades to the engine, but I think we have a sleeper on our hands." AJ just beamed as Ranch marked the pickup with a tiny red flag, so that the wreck would be easy to find in the whole junkpile. He then did the same with the Chevelle that Rarity found. Sunset was watching as the ex-NASCAR driver marked the cars that were to be saved and smiled inside. Not only were they saving pieces of automotive history, but they would get to drive them against the best street racers in America! She could see Rarity and AJ racing the 405 in her mind now. Of course, she was snapped out of her daydream by Twilight. "Hey, girls!! We found some more!!" She cried out, waving a hand in the air, beckoning all four of her friends and Ranch to follow. And when they got to where they were going, all of them saw something amazing. There was not one, not two, but THREE full-blown muscle cars that had been pulled clear of the nearby pile. Well, only two of them were muscle cars, as the third looked more like a late-60s sedan. But all of them were covered with rust, whatever paint was left had faded and at least 1 body panel was missing on each car. Sunset got a good look at all three cars and judging by the style of the car, she was quick to make the identifications. "Now, these are some nice cars. That car on the left, that's a 1968 Chevrolet Impala. An old classic from Chevy," She stated, as he popped the rusty hood of the Impala, "It gets better! Looks like this one has the 427-cubic V8. When it was new, it could put out at least 425 horsepower," Once those words were out of Sunset's mouth, Dash immediately rushed up to the Chevy and latched onto the massive hood of the car. "This one is mine! No-one else is having it!" She immediately stated, clinging to her chosen car. "Well, if no-one wants it, that's fine," Sunset stated, about giggling at Dash's eagerness over her chosen ride. She then turned to Twilight and asked, "Do you want the Impala?" To which Twilight immediately shook her head. So, Dash would get to keep the 427 Impala. As for the other two cars, they were easily identified. The car in the middle of the three was identified as a 1971 Oldsmobile 442, a classic muscle car that did some time in the NASCAR racing scene. Hell, even legend Richard Petty once drove an Oldsmobile. Sunset thought that this would be the perfect car for Ranch, until the mechanic explained that he already had a car that he could create into a racer worthy of the 405. So, Sunset took the 442 for herself. And the final car in the three, was a 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, the star ride of the movie series Smokey and the Bandit. The faded image of the legendary Firebird decal was still clearly etched into the hood. This ride was given to Twilight, as she had a thing for cars with history behind them. Ranch remarked that each of the cars would need some serious derusting and would need to have some parts replaced, but they were in an okay shape. Once again, he marked each of the cars with a flag so that they could come back for them later. It was as he was setting his flag on the Pontiac when Pinkie Pie's voice cried out for them. "GIRLS!!!!!! GET A LOOK AT THIS!!!!!!" Immediately, the entire group rushed over. What they saw was a massive junkpile, with Pinkie somehow standing on the top of the entire thing. Wilder just looked up, his face showing a clear mix of confusion and awe. "How did she get up there?" "It's Pinkie, don't question it," Twilight immediately answered him, not wanting to have him trying to figure out the pink party planner. Wilder took heed to her advise and just nodded. He was lucky that he didn't question it, as seconds later, Pinkie dived into the pile, disappeared into the hulks of broken machinery. Only seconds later, she hopped out of the pile right at the ground (somehow only covered in grime and no cuts from the sharp and rusted metal), pushing a seriously banged up sedan out of it. Sunset immediately identified the car. "Wow, a 1984 Ford Thunderbird! It may be a luxury car, but don't let that fool you. This thing has a chassis similar to the one seen on the Fox Body Mustang, like the Death Trap that Chuck drives. Also, this one must have the 5.0 liter Winsor V8 engine, pushing out 140 horsepower when it was new," Wilder just smiled and stated, "What's even more special, is that my dad used to have one of these. Every time it went wrong, we would fix it together and drive it around town. Great job bringing back those memories," "So, you can fix this?" Dash remarked. She did have a point, as the T-Bird Pinkie found was definitely the worst-for-wear of the bunch. Many panels were missing from the car, it was completely covered in rust and even had a wheel missing. The mechanic just ran his hand over the rushed hood of the Ford and sighed, "Well, the bodywork is rusted to high heaven and some panels are missing. One of the wheels is missing too and even the smallest bolts are at the end of their lives. But if it means restoring this piece of automotive history, then yes," All of the girls the got together in a celebratory group hug, with Rarity doing her best to distance herself from the dirty Pinkie. Finally, they all had their cars. All they needed to do was restore and turn them into road-tearing street racing beasts. But when that though entered her head, Fluttershy immediately froze. "Uhh, girls?" She timidly spoke, catching the attention of the celebrating Rainbooms, "I don't mean to spoil the celebration, but we don't know anything about restoring or working cars," This caused the others to immediately stop, Cause Flutters was right. They had forgotten about their lack of knowledge in the mechanics department. All they knew about cars came from the show itself, and even still it didn't reveal anything. They realized how difficult it would be to even get started. Thankfully, Ranch already knew this and stepped in. "No need to worry. I'll call in a few favors and friends and I'll have these cars up to scratch in no time!" All of the girls let out a sigh of relief. But that changed when Ranch then said, "I just need your help for one little thing..." It seemed like it had taken the whole rest of the day, once the sun had begun to set over the horizon. It had taken them the whole rest of the day to get all of their chosen cars out of the junk and back to the garage. While the Chevelle and the other cars that still had all their wheels were quite easy, it was the wrecked Thunderbird that gave everyone the most trouble. The missing wheel and all the rusted metal made the car very difficult and dangerous to push. By the time that the car had only been moved 7 feet, all of the rusted metal had cut the girls pretty badly. Thankfully, one of the crane drivers that worked at the yard arrived only a few minutes ago used a crane to help get the rusted car where they needed it. And they were done. Despite offering to help, Ranch waved it off. He said that he was getting all the help he needed from his other buddies. All he did tell the girls to do was to wait until he contacted them again to say that his work was finished. And with that, they all left him too it. Once he was finished, they would have the cars...
