Previous ChapterNext ChapterI stood in the corridor of a quaint little house. All was quiet besides the sound of the house creaking in the wind. I couldn’t make out any of the ponies in the pictures that lined the wall, nor any of the newspapers that seemed to cover one wall at the end of the hall, but there was a body that lay in front of them, and it stirred ever so slightly. The mare was young, but something about her made me uneasy. I began to hear a cacophony of noise as whispers filled my head, saying their apologies. Crying, screaming, and broken laughter began to overwhelm my senses before a bright light tore me from that reality.

I sat bolt upright in bed, a cold sweat covering me like a sheet of ice. My comforter lay on the ground, having been kicked off of me at some point and when I glanced at the window, the sun just barely peeked over the horizon. I let out a sigh as I rubbed my eyes.
“A hot shower sounds nice,” I said aloud.
