So, this is the sequel to the other story. I hope you guys enjoy this. I don't really know how well it went. I feel like it was a little rushed again, but I like to make quick and short stories. I couldn't fit exactly 1,000 words like last time, but it's so hard to do. I know you might think it's silly to try and do, but I like that even number. I don't have OCD, but it's still nice to see a clean 1,000 word story.

Math Make-Up
Twilight was sitting on the castle ground, processing her thoughts while waiting for Rainbow to show up for another math tutoring session. She quickly decided to cut short the previous math session since she needed to wrap her thoughts around what had just happened last time. Rainbow was throwing a fit, Twilight tried to comfort her and accidently told her that she loved her, and Rainbow just happily said that she loved her back. She was both a little excited and nervous at the same time.
She was interrupted by a sudden knock at the door. Twilight got up and opened the door, seeing a happy cyan pegasus on the other side. She made a quick smile and greeted the athletic pony. "Hello, Rainbow. Back for more math learning?"
Rainbow walked passed the purple alicorn while playfully rolling her eyes. "Only because of you."
Once they both got situated with Rainbow sitting in front of the chalkboard, Twilight lifted up her chalk to begin writing. "Don't worry, Rainbow. I'll be nice this time." Twilight tried to play it safe for her lover, not wanting to get her to throw a fit again.
Rainbow nervously looked around the room before speaking what was on her mind. "So, Twilight? I couldn't help but remember that you said that you loved me last time. Do you really mean what you said?"
Twilight's magic suddenly stopped and the chalk dropped to the ground. Her eyes widened at the unexpected question that caught her off-guard. She decided to just admit her feelings without even turning around to face her. "Uh, yeah, I did. I'm sorry, Rainbow. I just couldn't help it. You mentioned love and I couldn't help but say that I loved you."
There was a moment of silence before Twilight felt a hoof wrap around her. Rainbow gave a small smile before motioning Twilight to sit down with her. She agreed and felt both forehooves wrap around her frame. Rainbow was hugging her. "Twilight, do you remember that I said I also loved you?"
The nervous alicorn slowly nodded her head. Rainbow gave a quick nuzzle on Twilight's shoulder before continuing. "Well, I also love you. I've always found you so adorable whenever you read books. Eggheads are pretty cute, and you're one of them. I was hoping to ask you to become my marefriend."
Twilight was caught off-guard for the second time. She noticed that Rainbow was pretty calm the entire time she was talking. Was she not nervous about asking Twilight to be her marefriend?
The purple alicorn thought for a moment. She wasn't thinking about if she should say yes or no to being her marefriend. She wanted to, but she also wanted Rainbow to learn math. Then, a sudden thought occurred to her.
"I would love to, but can you at least promise me that you'll learn something related to what I'll be teaching you?"
Rainbow thought about it and smiled, thinking it was fair. "Sure, Twi."
Rainbow was sitting in her chair again while her brain switched to being serious. She wanted to make her marefriend proud. She wasn't going to let a simple math problem stop her from being the pony she wanted Twilight to know and love.
Twilight raised the chalk and wrote something different than last time. Rainbow didn't see a number with a percent sign next to it. If she remembered correctly back in school, what Twilight wrote was an equation.
Twilight finished writing and took a step to the side to show Rainbow the problem. "Okay, Rainbow. I know this seems intimidating at first, but this just requires one simple step."
What Rainbow saw was "x - 5 = 13." Twilight continued her talking while making hoof gestures around the math problem.
"This is called a one-step equation, because it only takes one step to solve this equation. The only thing that you need to do is to get the variable by itself. This means you have to cancel out the 5 by using the math operation that is opposite from the sign that you see. For this problem, the subtraction sign is used. This means that you have to add 5 to both sides. If it was an addition sign, you would subtract. Always remember to cancel out the number on the side with the variable and do the same thing on the other side. In this case, x will equal 18, because positive 5 cancels out the negative 5 and adds to 13."
Rainbow squinted her eyes in thought. It took her some time to figure it out, but she understood everything that Twilight was saying. "Take the opposite sign to both sides and that's what x is. Thanks, Twi. I think I got it. Can I try now?"
The purple alicorn was really happy to hear that Rainbow was somewhat enjoying this session. "Sure thing. Here." Twilight paused to write another equation, similar to the last one. "Okay, try this." Twilight stepped aside to reveal the second equation: x - 2 = 10.
Rainbow repeatedly tapped her hoof on her lips before she used the same rules. "Okay, so would I add 2 to both sides?"
Twilight cheered on the inside but smiled on the outside. "Yes, and what would x be equal to?"
"12?"
"Good job, Dashie! I knew you had it in you!" Rainbow almost giggled at the cute sight. She saw Twilight happily hopping up and down like Pinkie would. "Aw, it was nothing. It just took the prettiest mare in all of Equestria to help me."
Twilight stopped her bouncing and her facial expression changed. Rainbow almost had a look of worry at the sudden mood change in Twilight. She slowly started to see a tear running down her face while she was caught off-guard with her marefriend lunging towards her with open hooves. She got pinned to the ground and suddenly felt a soft pair of lips on hers. She closed her eyes and slowly set herself in the scene until they parted.
"I love you so much, Rainbow."
Rainbow let out a giggle before replying back. "I love you too, my love."
And with that, they both happily cuddle on the castle floor while nuzzling each other to sleep.
