//-------------------------------------------------------// My Name -by CalmHeart- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Abnormal //-------------------------------------------------------// Abnormal As the sun wound down that day, Starscream (AKA North Star) was heading back to the Everfree Forest, from which he emerged from this morning. Turns out he would talk to Starlight longer than he'd care to admit. The Decepticons did not know of Starscream's undercover plan, which only made the outcome better for him as a whole. As he was nearing the edge of Ponyville, he realized that he had only been walking around this whole time. He glanced back at his wings. The middle of his wings were red, with a blue outline the outside of the red. The grey of his wings as the first layer, and the tips of his wings a dipped gold. 'Let's try these out.' Starscream spread his wings open, and started to flap them. Unexpectedly, it was a little difficult getting off the ground. He had never realized how much mass flesh creatures actually had. He grunted, slowly lifting himself up to a normal pegisi flying height. (relative to the ground.) He suddenly herd a laugh. "Haven't been flying for a while, huh?" Starscream turned around to see a sky blue pegasus, with a striking rainbow mane. She was smirking, but not in an unfriendly way. North Star grumbled. "I can fly extremely well, thank you very much." The other pegasus flew over next to him. "How about a race to see you prove it?" Starscream's cocky side couldn't help but leak through. "I could beat you easily, with little effort." The female pegasus scoffed. "How about 10 seconds flat?" She got into a racing position. North Star took the challenge, and also took position. She counted down. "3..., 2..., 1..., GO!" The two zoomed off at a blistering speed. Starscream was amazed at such speed his pegasus body was going. He noticed however the rainbow-haired mare was steadily advancing forward, leaving him behind. Starscream smirked. 'Let's see how fast you can go...' He quickly flew forward, passing her. She, like the competitive spirit she is, overtook him once again. The race consisted of tight-neck racing, one trying to outdo the other. The world was a blur around them, only blue and green, with the mix of colors from Ponyville. As the two reached back to where they started, the rainbow mare gave one last push, rocketing herself in front of North. Starscream was enjoying himself so much that he didn't realize the blue pegasus had passed him until it was too late. The two suddenly screeched to a halt, a little tired. They both flew down to the ground. The pegasus talked in between breaths. "Not bad, dude." "You weren't too bad yourself." North Star replied, out of breath. The rainbow-mane colored pegasus held out her hoof for a hoofbump. "The name's Rainbow Dash." Starscream looked at her for a moment, before returning the gesture. "North Star." Rainbow looked to the sunset. "Well I guess I better be heading back home." She flew up to the sky, and looked at him. "Later Star!" Rainbow Dash called, flying away in one particular direction. Starscream just stood there for a few seconds. "...That was interesting." He turned, and flew towards the Everfree. Starscream finally reached his destination, but not before stealing a very specific cure from a certain zebra. He had hid the mixture in a tree's hole, next to the field of poison joke. This, is what turned Megatron into a pony. And if he could turn into a pony, so could Starscream. Starscream decided to lay down on the opposite side of the tree, farthest away from the poison joke. He took one of the cures, and dumped it on himself. He would drift off to a cold, wet stasis soon after. When he was powered down, the change happened. He went from pony, to robot. His natural form. But, it would only take one day to blow his cover. Zecora had found a trail of the leaking poison joke cure. She followed it from early morning till the morning was in full swing. And what the tracks ended with, Zecora could only gasp with disbelief. Starscream was just starting to get up. He booted up, and stretched out slowly. Being in a small body for a while could make you feel squished. "What do my eyes should appear?" Starscream's helm jolted up. He stared forward, so see Zecora staring at him with disbelief. "But a Decepticon, camping here?" His optics widened. They both where silent for a minute. "..." "Why are you here? To.. Instill fear?" Starscream didn't stand. He just sat there, staring the the zebra. He knew that he should probably be getting up to seize the witness, yet something in him was telling him otherwise. And, he actually thought about the zebra's words. Starscream finally responded. "No. I'm not. I just need to get away from... The others." Zecora looked behind the Decepticon. A field of poison joke had been disturbed recently by something huge. "Surely you know of the poison joke's toll? Wasn't it your leader who turned into a foal?" Starscream glanced back at the field. "I know. But it didn't turn me into a foal... I was normal age..." "You were exposed to Poison joke?" He turned back to face Zecora. "Then, you must be the one of which my vision spoke." "What? What do you mean?" Zecora turned, and walked back to her hut. "Follow me, and I will help you see." Starscream had no reason to. It didn't look like she was going to rat him out to twilight. He didn't need to follow her. Yet he did. When Zecora and Starscream reached her hut, Zecora held out her hoof telling him to wait. Zecora entered her hut, and grabbed an elixir from her top shelf. She came back out to Starscream, and showed him the potion. "This poison joke elixir is a more effective mixture." Starscream was skeptical. Was she really telling him the truth? Was this a trap? He gently took the small bottle out of Zecora's hoof with two fingers. he stared at it. "I also have its cure, if one believes it's pure." He pondered the mixture. 'If what she says is true, then, this would turn me instantly. I would never have to waste a day laying in the poison joke.' He looked down at Zecora. She nodded, telling him to drink it. Starscream sighed mentally. 'I can't believe I'm doing this...' He took a swig, and swallowed. Within a matter of moments, he felt himself change. He was shrinking, his plane wings disappeared, and he was turning into a pony. Just like that. The transformation had been done. He looked over himself. It really did happen that fast. He looked at the bottle in his hoof, and stared with wonder. "I'm glad to see it work so fast. Better than any of my previous attempts past." Starscream put down the potion, and grunted slightly. He had grown weary of her language. "Do you always thyme when you talk?" Zecora chuckled, and nodded in response. Starscream sighed, a little annoyed. He then hovered in the air. "So, that's it? There's no catch? You're not going to send any Autobots after me?" "I only have but one condition." She looked at him, dead in the eyes. "Do not interfere with an Autobot's mission." 'Is she being serious right now?!' He thought. Well, as much as he wanted to, there was probably not a high chance of him actually being able to do so. He could only relay information, if he even wanted to. 'Which was halted by this zebra this morning.' Starscream pondered more. She wouldn't tell anypony else his secret if he agreed do this, so it wasn't like he had a choice. "Alright." Zecora smiled, and strolled back into her house. "I will be here, whenever you are near." "Okay, I'll see you later then." Starscream flew off, out of the Everfree, and into Ponyville. Starscream knocked on the big castle door. Twilight's castle was big, but not that big, according to Starscream. He couldn't really remember the story of how it got there. Something to do about a tree and and a box. When the door opened, a purple alicorn greeted him. "Yes?" "Um, I was told that Starlight Glimmer lives here?" Twilight turned her head, calling out to the other. "Starlight! Somepony's here to see you!" Starlight, whom was in her room, quietly gasped with excitement. The purple unicorn levitated the two kites she had near her bed, trotted out of her room, and down to the main hall. "Come in." Twilight smiled, and motioned North Star to come inside, to which he obliged. He was a little surprised at the spacious size. " She wasn't kidding when she said it was huge." Starlight trotted down the stairs as North Star was looking around the room. Her smile was radiant. "Hi North Star!" He looked to her, and smiled back. "Hi Starlight." She handed him a kite with her magic, North taking it. "I think you might like kite flying, it can be very therapeutic." "Sure." Twilight suddenly gasped with happiness. She turned to Starlight. "You made a friend all on your own?" Starlight smiled smugly. "Yes Twilight, I did." She walked past Twilight to walk with Starscream. "This time it's a pony you don't hold a grudge against." Twilight made noises of disbelief, making Starlight giggle. "Hey, I said I was sorry for that!" Starlight and North Star walked out the open door. "I know, I know. Never going to let you live it down though." Twilight couldn't help but smile, and waved the duo goodbye. "Have fun, you two!" She closed the door with her magic, leaving Starlight and Starscream to walk though the town, towards the park. "What was that about?" North asked. "What was what about?" Starlight questioned back. "The whole "pony you don't hold a grudge against" comment?" Starlight laughed. "It's quite a tale." Thus, Starlight told him all about her friend Trixie, and Trixie's past. As they flew their designated kites, they talked even more. Starscream told of his life on Cybertron, embellishing it with pony words, without revealing anything about his true self. He also told of his Decepticon brethren, joking and sneering along the way. Starlight told him about her first friendship lesson, and her reunion with Sunburst, along with the other problems she had gone through recently. It was a pleasant, warm atmosphere between the two. Later on, they were wrapping up their kites, when a passing by Rainbow Dash noticed them. "Hey, Star!" Starlight and North Star glanced up at her. "Did you enjoy that wing warm up yesterday?" North Star smiled. "Yeah, I did. And I think I'm ready for a rematch." Rainbow Dash flew down to the ground. "You guys know each other?" Starlight asked. "We ran into each other yesterday, and raced." North answered. "Yeah, and I totally wiped the floor with him!" Rainbow Dash teased. North Star smirked. "I was only going easy on you." Rainbow Dash turned to Starlight. "Hey Starlight, how 'bout you watch us, to make sure Star isn't cheating?" North Star rolled his eyes, a smirk stuck on his face. Starlight beamed. "Sure guys!" "I'm going to beat you this time." Starscream flew up to the sky. "In your dreams!" Rainbow Dash followed, Starlight watching the two. "Ready, set, go!" And... That's how he mostly spent his days in Ponyville. Hang out with Starlight, race with Rainbow Dash, go to Zecora's to get the poison joke elixir and cure. Over some time, he eventually met and befriended Twilight's friends, along with Starlight's. He even was around enough to regularly see and actually speak to some of the Autobots with said friends. Friends. That was something new, yet, he felt completely at home. He even forgot to go back to the Decepticon's secret base to check in. Soon, some grew curious to where he went. And, a bond deeper than friendship would spark. Author's Note And.. That was chapter 2! Write you later! //-------------------------------------------------------// I Want It //-------------------------------------------------------// I Want It Friendship is such a strange thing. But this new feeling, it's definitely more. Today the duo were at the local lake, having a casual conversation while Starlight swam. Starscream was not the biggest fan of water, so he laid casually on a beach chair, watching her. "Come on, North! Won't you get in the water already?" Starscream shook his head. "I already told you, swimming's not really my thing." Starlight stopped swimming, and floated. She smiled. "Well, it's not really my thing either. But I'm still doing it." Starscream chuckled at her, then laid back in the chair, starring up into the soft blue sky. He closed his eyes, letting peace overcome him. That was, until water was dunked all over him, soaking his entire mane. He spat out water, and shook his head, now moist. Starscream looked to the water, where Starlight was smiling smugly. Starscream returned the smirk, and started to get up. "You're gonna get it now!" Starlight smiled brightly, and dove under the surface. Starscream ran and jumped in, swimming after her. He opened his eyes and looked around. Starlight was nowhere to be seen. He submerged out of the water, breathing. He looked around again. 'Where could she have gone?' Unbeknownst to him, Starlight was sneaking up behind him. Suddenly, Starlight pounced onto him, making him yell before the two were dragged under the water yet again. He struggled in her grasp, Starlight holding in her giggles. Finally, he managed to squirm out of her hold, and swam under. Now Starlight didn't know where North was. She looked around quickly, but saw no sign of him. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, Starscream grabbed her, and they both broke the surface. Starlight started to laugh. "North! Let me go!" Starscream smirked. "No, you grabbed me, now you'll never leave my grasp!" He began to paddle to the shore. Starlight's laughter increased. "St-Stop! You're tickling me!" Starscream had a laugh of his own. "No I'm not!" "Y-Your wing-" "Oh, is that what's bothering you?" They had got to the shore, and he pinned her on the shoreline, their back hooves slightly touching the waters. He smirked, and brushed his left wing against her left body, then did the same with the other wing on the opposite side. Her laughter bellowed out, tossing and turning to get the laughter to stop. He pressed on with the tickling torture, laughing happy with her. Soon, He stopped the tickling, and their laughter slowed. They were now staring at the other. Starlight took in his features. His blue and red mane, His soft smile framing the ruby red eyes that always kept her attention. His wings, although jagged looking, were soft, and large. Starlight, started to blush. At the same time, Starscream started to stare long at her features. her curled purple and cyan mane matched her purple coat exquisitely. But, her dark purple eyes are what he was transfixed on the most. It was like getting lost in space, floating forever in a beautiful, purple landscape. He saw her blush, and his eyes widened. She was attracted to him. But what more surprising was that he... Was falling for her. But... How? Starlight's eyes widened at the position they were in. Starscream seemed to understand that this was not the best place to be positioned with a female friend. He slowly crawled off of her, and sat next to her, looking away. Starlight sat up, and looked away as well. 'What in the name of Primus...?! I thought... We aren't supposed to feel this emotion... Did... Something happen to me? Why am I falling in love with Starlight?!' He glanced back at her, a blush staining his cheeks. Starlight was having some thoughts of her own. 'He stared at me for a long while. Was he.... Was going to kiss me? Could he be attracted to me? Well, if so, I guess I'm glad that...I really like him too.' When she glanced back, she caught a glimpse of North Star looking at her, but he turned away. Starlight turned back, and smiled. 'Okay... I think I can make this work.' She stood slowly. "Um, I think we should get going." Starscream snapped out of his thoughts. "Uh, yeah. Yeah. Sure." He stood, and shook himself to dry off. Starlight teleported a towel to herself and dried her mane and tail. They walked away from the lake, and the awkward situation. Later that day, Starlight decided to have a picnic with her usual kite flying. So she and Starscream scoured the markets and shops for what to bring. They were now in Sugarcube corner, trying to decide what sweets to bring. Starlight was naming off some cookie names. "Do you like the Crazy Coconut Chocolate Chip cookies, or the Sweet Tooth Strawberry Sugar cookies?" "Hmm, I like the coconut ones, but I know you like the strawberry cookies better." He picked up a couple of strawberry sugar cookies and placed them in the bag Starlight was holding with her magic. She smiled at him with appreciation. "Thank you, North." He returned her smile, until he noticed a very sweet smell. He sniffed the air. "Do you smell that?" Starlight sniffed the scent. "Yeah, it smells really good." Just then, Pinkie Pie came bouncing out of the kitchen with multiple trays of brownies. One her head, multiple on her back, and a couple in one hoof. She went over to an open display, and started to set them down. Starscream and Starlight walked up to her. "What treat have you invented today?" He greeted, glancing over Pinkie's shoulder. "It's one of Shady's recipes!" Pinkie answered cheerfully. Pinkie revealed the brownies. "It's what I dubbed, Blackberry Butterscotch Brownies!" Starlight awed at the confection. "Blackberry and butterscotch are my favorite flavors!" Starlight turned to Starscream. "What about you, North?" "I never tried them before." He answered honestly. Pinkie Pie gasped loudly, now aware that a pony had never tired this combination before. "You never tried blackberry or butterscotch?! Have you been living under a rock your whole life?!" "Uh, well-" Pinkie pie held a piece in front of him. "Try it!" she beamed proudly. Starscream looked to Starlight for confirmation, and Starlight nodded in agreement with Pinkie. "You've never lived until you try blackberry flavor." He sighed in defeat, and took the brownie from Pinkie. 'Oh well. Better than fighting other transformers.' He took a bite and was blown away. The blackberry and butterscotch blend was phenomenal with the chocolate brownie taste, and it tasted better than anything he had eaten before. "Oh my Pr-" He stopped, and put a hoof on his mouth, swallowing the price. It was lucky he had been stopped to chew it, as he would have said Primus. Pinkie Pie giggled, as Starlight took a sample of the brownies for herself. "Sweet Celestia, these are the best things I've ever eaten!" Starlight nodded in agreement with North, making humming sounds while chewing the treat. Pinkie laughed, bouncing up and down. "I'm so glad you both like it!" Starscream noticed Starlight's smile. He beamed back, and turned to Pinkie. "We'll take two trays, thank you." Pinkie picked up two fresh trays of the brownies, and trotted behind the counter. "You just got your first sale, Shady!" She was directing her conversation to someone in the kitchen. A voice came from the kitchen to respond. "Really? I did not expect it to sell that quickly." Pinkie giggled, putting the brownies in a pink box. "I told you it would." "Got him working hard, Pinkie?" Starlight asked, as Pinkie wrapped the box up with a specialty bow. Pinkie Pie laughed softly. "I guess you can say that." Starscream took the box from the counter, and payed with bits. "You two have fun!" Pinkie waved them both goodbye as they walked out of Sugarcube Corner. "Same to you!" Starlight called back. It was late in the afternoon, turning into the evening, as Starlight and Starscream flew their kites and ate blackberry butterscotch brownies. Today, they were mostly silent, not knowing what to say. They laid down on their backs, watching the kites flutter and sway in the wind. Starlight started to hum something. Starscream took notice, and glanced over to her. "What are you humming?" Starlight stopped humming, and looked over to him. She glanced away quickly, blushing. "Just a song I came up with." "Really?" Starscream sat up with curiosity. Starlight looked back at him. "Can you, sing it for me?" Starlight was surprised at his asking. Her blush slowly faded away however, and she inhaled slowly. Then, she began to sing. Starscream started to lie back down, listening intently to Starlight. It was her story, all summed up by just flying a kite. He turned his head to her, and watched her sing. He started to smile softly, and gently. She was, in his eyes, perfect. Flawed, but isn't that how all celled organisms are? He... Did not care about his Decepticon brethren no more. And as such, the symbol on his neck, was fading. Starlight had finished her song, and exhaled, feeling relaxed. She glanced over to Starscream whom was still staring at her. Starscream noticed, and smiled at her. "It's a good song." Starlight smiled back at him, and they both stared up at their kites. Dancing together, gracefully, in harmony. Starlight had her right hoof out to the side of her. Starscream moved his hoof, and placed it on hers. Starlight realized this, and glanced over at him. He was staring up into the sky, at peace. She smiled softly, and went back to the sky. Right now, they were both at peace. But how long would that last? Author's Note (whoo uploading late at night) Sorry that updates are slow everyone! Hopefully I can get more out. Song: Fly My Kite, 4everfreebrony Write you later! //-------------------------------------------------------// Lips //-------------------------------------------------------// Lips "Where were you guys?!" "We were out in the battlefield. We had no idea that it was a diversion to get into Ponyville." "Isn't your purpose to protect those who can't protect themselves?! Many have had their homes destroyed, livelihoods damaged! Not all unicorns have powerful magic you know! I and my friends can't be the only ones trying to protect our whole town! And now we have Starscream, in a pony form, somewhere in Ponyville doing Celestia knows what!" "...You're going to have to find him then. He may know the next place Megatron is going to attack." Applejack and Rainbow Dash was standing in front of an old barn's doors at sweet apple acres. "Are you sure he's here?" Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash, a little skeptical. "Other than her, I know Star more than anypony. He's here." Rainbow Dash held firm with her position. After facing an opponent so many times, you happen to pick up on their smallest habits. "Alrighty then." Applejack began to scratch her head. "But, you don't want to tell Twilight and the others if he is here?" Rainbow Dash looked over to Applejack. "He has some things he needs to work out on his own first. Then, maybe he'll be willing to spill the beans." Applejack sighed, and opened the barn doors. "Okay." Rainbow slowly flew into the barn. It was dark, dusty, and quiet. At first, it was quiet. After a minute, She herd a soft whimper above her. She looked up to the rafters above, and noticed a figure lying down on one of them, slightly whining sorrows and sadness. Their tail hanged down from the rafters, making it the most easy part to see. Rainbow Dash sighed, and flew up to the stallion. "Starscream." The grey stallion looked up, and saw the blue pegasus staring at him with a stern face. His eyes were puffy red, indicating he had been crying for hours today. His mane was a mess, full of cowlicks and matted hair. He looked to Rainbow Dash, not with hatred or contempt, but with defeat, and maybe even slight fear. "Are you here to take me in?" "No." Starscream blinked, confused, though he did not chance move from his position. "Then why?" Rainbow Dash's face was serious, and stern, her hooves on her hips while she hovered. "Why did you run away?" Starscream sighed heavily, and turned his eyes away from her, staring at a barn wall. He was silent for a minute, but proceeded to respond. "Ponies don't know I've changed. When they hear my name, all they can think of is the past me. A Decepticon. nothing more, nothing less. " "I know you changed." Rainbow stated, making Starscream turn his eyes back to her. He slowly started to sit up, eyes glancing down to the beam he was on. Rainbow continued. "Starlight too." "Starlight? But... She was heartbroken when the truth-" Rainbow Dash inhaled, and promptly landed a slap across his face, making Starscream shout in slight pain."OW!" He rubbed his cheek. "What did you do that for?!" "Because she's worried about you sick, you idiot! Ever since you left, she's locked herself in her room, bawling her eyes out! She thinks you've run away because of the fact! She doesn't care about- You know what?" Rainbow stopped in the middle of her rant, and picked up Starscream, forcing him to use his wings. He was fully awake now, the puffiness of his sore eyes gone, replaced by a sense of urgency. "She can explain her own feelings more than I ever could." They both descended out of the rafters. "You go tell her how you feel. Go to her." Starscream had a new flame. He was determined, confidant, and ready for anything. He nodded. "Thanks Dash." He flew with speed though the doors, Applejack standing below as he flew past. She held on to her hat, a little surprised at his speed. Rainbow Dash flew calmly out of the barn, proud. "What was that about?" Applejack asked to no one in particular. "That, was him handling business." A pile of tissues had piled up on the left of Starlight's bed. Starlight was laying down on her bed, head in her pillow. She was no longer crying, as she had no more tears left to shed. Instead, she just stayed there, silent, refusing to move. Twilight tried to cheer her up, but that didn't go very well. All she could think about now was the good times she had with North St- I mean, Starscream. They complemented each other so well. He was really fitting in. He was definitely not a Decepticon anymore. But... How could he? They both had nothing to hide. Starlight was always honest with him. Was there other things besides this he wasn't being honest with? These thoughts jumbled her mind, and just made her more frustrated. she grumbled nothing into her pillow, then gave a sigh of sorrow. 'I loved you... I still love you. Just come to me. And everything. Everything will be forgiven. Star...' "Starlight?" She looked up from her gloomy state. Somepony said something. it sounded like... "Starlight." She turned to her right. It was Starscream. "..How did you get in here without being caught?" Starscream slowly walked forward. "I told Twilight the situation. She said I could come and see you." They both were silent for a moment. Starscream decided to speak first. "Listen, Starlight. I'm sorry for lying to you." Starlight was a little surprised at his response. She sat up slowly as he talked and walked nearer to the front of her bed. Starscream's ears drooped. "I was worried, that if I told anypony, even you, about who I was.." He stood in front of Starlight, and lowered his head in shame. "Then you wouldn't see me as who I am now." Starlight sniffed, the aftermath of her tears finally fading away. She watched him take a seat next to her. He stared at her with guilt, and gently placed a hoof on her back. "You can forgive me, right?" For the first time since his disappearance, Starlight started to smile a small, forgiving smile. She suddenly jumped onto him with a big, joyful hug. Starscream winced with non-expectancy at first. "That was all I needed to hear." Starscream slowly hugged her back, relief washing over them both. Now, he decided to tell her. "I wanted to tell you something, before they invaded." Starlight slid out of the embrace. "What?" Starscream blushed, and glanced down at the bed. "It's fact, that, in the Transformers race, we don't usually feel the emotion of love." Starlight eyes widened, and she started to feel the motions again. 'Could this mean he..?' "But, after being a pony for so long... I think... It has enabled me to finally feel it." This new weight lifted off Starlight's shoulders, and was replaced by a blush. "What I'm trying to say is..." He looked up to Starlight, his whole face light red. "I think I 'm in love with you." Starlight's blush was prominent in her cheeks, and for a moment she realized that she was holding her breath. He admitted to it. He.. Felt the same. Starlight calmly exhaled her response. "I love you too." She replied breathlessly, astonished. Starscream smiled meekly, and closed his eyes. He reached out his hoof, to touch hers. He opened his eyes again. "So... What do I do now?" He whispered to himself, though he knew Starlight herd him. Starlight took her free hoof, and put it under his chin, making him gaze up to her. She removed her hoof, and smiled. "This." She leaned forward, and gently planted a soft, quick kiss on his lips. Starscream's eyes widened. He had never experienced this before. He felt explosions, sparks, butterflies, and overall a warm feeling tingle in him. This.. Was what a kiss felt like? 'So... Soft.' it felt... Nice. Starlight departed, her face beet red. She grinned shyly, and glanced away, left hoof rubbing her right hoof. "Too soon?" Starscream was in shock. never before, had a Transformer felt what he did right now. Suddenly, he felt an unexplained urge coarse over his entire body and mind. Subconsciously, Starscream grabbed her left hoof, and pulled her into a passionate kiss. Now Starlight was in shock. She wan't expecting him to be so forward with it. But, she was glad. She closed her eyes, and sunk into the kiss, giving back that same amount of passion. For the first time, a Transformer had felt lust. Finally, something in Starscream's mind told him to stop, and they both slowly departed lips. They looked at each other with amazement. "Wow." The silence of the room pulled them back to reality. Starscream took Starlight into his wings, and laid down on the cushioned bed. Starlight snuggled him gently. Before they drifted off to dream, Starscream told her one last thing. "Thank you." "You let him into the castle?!" "He said himself that he was done with them. He told me everything about how he turned normal." "How can you be sure?" "He only wanted to talk to Starlight. He even said that, if I didn't believe him, then he would come along without resistance." "..." "He's changed, Optimus. I felt it." "...Alright then. We'll see what he can tell us about the Decepticon's next attack." Author's Note Finally, this is out. Sorry about that. Also, this story is going on hold/hiatus, very very sorry for those who are liking it. I just don't know how to end it. Actually, I do, but I am not inspired enough to write it. When I get inspired, I'll continue. Write you later! //-------------------------------------------------------// Living A New //-------------------------------------------------------// Living A New Starscream awoke to see his unicorn pressed tightly against him. He stared at the sleeping mare. She was cute, and peaceful. He smiled softly. He gently planted a kiss her forehead, and closed his eyes once more. He didn't want it to end, this feeling. It filled him with more happiness than anything. He finally had something. Something he had been seeking long ago. Starlight slowly opened her eyes to the grey pegasus. She smiled, and slowly started to move away. Starscream mumbled, and puled her close. "Noooo, stay and snuggle.." Starlight giggled at him, and turned. "It's time to get up Starscream, you have to let me go." Starscream opened his eyes, and whined playfuly. "No... It's so warm under the blankets. Pleaseeee..?" She laughed again, finally getting out of his grasp, and starting to sit up. "Sorry, Starry. Besides, you should be getting up too." Starlight turned to the side of her bed, and stood. Starscream sat up. "Okay, fine. But only because you told me so." Starlight smiled at him. "I'll be down in the dining hall with Twilight. I'll make sure Spike makes some extra pancakes for you." "Sure." After failing multiple times to find the dining hall, Starscream finally found it. But, strangely, no pony was there. "Uh, hello?" He walked into the room. The table was set, but pony nor food was found. He thought it was strange. Suddenly there was a voice behind him. "Starscream?" He turned to see Starlight in the doorway, and he smiled. "Hey Starlight. Uh, where is everypony?" Starlight looked away. "You know who wants to see you. Now." Starscream blinked, and understood. "Oh." Starlight waved for him to follow. "Come on. We're all waiting at the Autobot's ship." The base the Autobots held just so happened to be their ship, which had broken down and landed in Equestria shortly after the Decepticons had found the land. As Starscream flew down to the ground, he observed Optimus Prime and a few of the other Autobots standing behind the main 6. (Wheeljack, Ratchet, Bumblebee) Starlight walked up next to him. "Have you really abandoned your Decepticon brethren?" Optimus Prime spoke, voice skeptical and serious. Starscream looked at the Transformer. He lowered his head, and moved his mane away from his neck. The mark of a Decepticon was gone, leaving only the ears of the symbol. Optimus noticed it, as did the others. "The more I interacted, and spent time with these ponies... The more my transformers' roots started to fade. But more importantly for this case," He looked up. "My loyalty to them has faded as well." He took a step forward. "I am not the person I was when we arrived here. I have learned about some of the most important values in life." His eyes scanned across the main 6, and they all responded with body movements. "Kindness... Generosity... Honesty... Laughter... Loyalty... Magic..." He turned to look at Starlight. "..Acceptance." Starlight blinked, and smiled shyly, gaze moving down to the ground behind her. Starscream gazed back up at the Autobots, smiling softly. "Friendship is amazing." He quickly glanced away, and rubbed his hoof. "...Love is... A wonderful feeling too..." Starlight brought a hoof just above her mouth. She smiled with a blush, her eyes beginning to shine with happy tears. Starscream returned to a blank face once again directing his eyes to everyone. "I don't expect any of you to accept me. Or even forgive me." He put a hoof on his heart. "But I have changed. I belong here, in Equestria. Both as a transformer, and as a pony." He put his hoof down, and closed his eyes, head lowering to look at the ground. His ears drooped. "I'm sorry." Starlight looked to Twilight, who looked to her friends. Optimus was still, and silent, talking in this pegasus's words. "Star." Starscream looked up. The pony to have said that was Rainbow Dash. She smirked, pointing her one of her wings behind her. "No matter what these guys still think of you," She gave a hoof. "I believe ya." Starscream blinked. Twilight gave a small grin. "Starscream. You've only been with us for a short time, but you've been a good friend." Twilight raised her hoof to him. "We all extend our hooves in friendship, just like we have before." Her friends raised up one hoof to him, smiling. Starscream's eyes widened. He felt them water. He turned his head away and clenched his eyes shut. "D-dang it..." he sniffed quietly. Optimus blinked. This was not expected. Starlight went to stand in front of him. She held out a hoof. "We'll stand by your side.." Starscream turned to her. She smiled. "North." Starscream started to smile, and returned the gesture. Starlight aburptly hugged him, and he embraced it openly. The main 6 came over to them, and joined in on the hug. "Optimus?" He glanced at Bumblebee. "I think they're right. He's proved his innocence well enough." "Surprisingly, I have to agree." Ratchet agreed with the small yellow transformer. The leader still held doubts, although, there was one thing he knew. Friendship had changed the seeker forever. "Alright. I'll trust you have changed. Now, do you have any information on the whereabouts and plans held by Megatron?" Their next attack was Canterlot. They had previously attacked the city before, but as a warning. This time, they were going all in. The goal? Take prisoner of Princess Celestia and Luna. Use their magic to create the energon cubes they so desire. Leave the city in ruins, imprison all unicorns there. Was this going to be the final battle? Presumably not, as the Decepticons had many other places in and out of Equestria marked on their list. Although, this battle was going to be a fight unlike any other. The Autobots were planning to leave to Canterlot the next day, and the main 6 were helping the best they could. Starscream knew that he had to do something. As Twilight was listening to Wheeljack and Optimus discussing strategy and weaponry, Starscream walked up to them. "I want to join in the fight." The two looked at him. "Really?" Twilight tilted her head. "Why?" He put a hoof on his heart. "He's already tried to lay waste to Ponyville. I'm not letting him hit the capital, let alone capture the princesses. And, I have some unfinished business with him." Twilight suddenly smiled. "Hm, spoken like a member of the Royal Gaurd." Starscream knew of whom she was thinking about, and nodded once. "But, how are you going to help us exactly? You're not a Transformer anymore." Wheeljack pointed out. Twilight rubbed her hoof on her chin. "Speaking of, how did you become a pony in the first place?" "With a little help from a good friend." He smirked, hearing a far off conversation from behind. Zecora and Starlight Glimmer were making their way to Ponyville, Starlight carrying the null ray gun with her magic while Zecora wore a satchel. Starscream turned to wave them over to him, and they obliged. Suddenly Wheeljack gasped, looking at the weapon Starlight had in possession. "-That's your null ray gun!" He suddenly looked excited. "Oh boy, I've waited so long to get a good look at this thing.." Starscream flew up a few feet into the air, feeling defensive about his possession. "Hey! This weapon is still mine, even if I won't use it much after this is all over." He flew down near Starlight and Zecora. "You know, I could have sworn that was bigger the last time I saw it." Optimus observed. Starscream held out his hooves, and Starlight handed him the weapon as he talked. "I figured out how to streamline the gun so it shoots faster, and I even managed to make it a smidge smaller so that it can be held by both my pony form and my normal form." He smiled smugly, showing it off in the air. "Pretty cool huh?" Twilight was the first to finally notice the zebra's presence. Starscream flew back down and entrusted Starlight with the ray. Twilight greeted Zecora. "Hello Zecora. What are you doing here?" "Delivering what of which I made, a potent potion and a powerful aid." Twilight tilted her head with slight confusion. "What do you mean?" Zecora reached into her satchel, and brought out a small glass tube. The glass contained a deep blue liquid that seemed to glow by itself. "Poison Joke may be a detriment to those who have seen, but tis' not for our friend here, Starscream." Twilight was surprised. "Wait, so poison joke doesn't turn you into a foal?" Starscream collected the potion from Zecora, while Zecora took out a second pipette of liquid from her bag. "Apparently not, which is lucky for me." Wheeljack was puzzled. "So does poison joke have an antidote?" Zecora gave the liquid to Starscream, and looked to Twilight. "Think of how you once had to soak, now with one drink you can instantly cure the poison joke." Twilight was intrigued by that, and held a hoof above the ground. "Really? You've managed to figure out how to do that?" Zecora responded. "If it wasn't for my run-in with this former Decepticon, I would have never taken the time to refine the elixir." Starscream explained further. "She found me during my early days of my independent undercover work. She made me swear not to interfere with anything the Autobots planned." Optimus Prime nodded. "I thank you then, Zecora. You helped keep our security safe." Zecora nodded back, and turned to Starlight. "I must be off now." She then turned to Starscream. "Remember, you hold the key as to how." Optimus and Wheeljack grew puzzled. Starscream was also confused. "Huh?" She turned away, and started back to the Everfree. Starscream sighed in annoyance. "Will she ever be straight forward?" Starlight chuckled. "Probably not." She turned to Starscream. "So, why did you want me to collect your weapon from Zecora?" He put a hoof on the weapon. "Well, it still needs a few things to be battle ready, maintenance, a strap and trigger for my pony form, maybe autofire for accuracy-" "Okay, now you're just irritating me." Wheeljack was now annoyed at Starscream's endless talk. Starscream smirked. "Well, I could concede and let you assist me in making the upgrades," He turned to Twilight, "but we'll need the princess of friendship to help out with an special upgrade." Twilight blinked, and pointed a hoof to herself. "Wait, me?" "Yes. It's something to do with magic." Wheejack nodded. "That- actually sounds rather fair." Twilight smiled. "Anything to help a friend." Wheeljack turned to Optimus. "Well Optimus?" Optimus looked down at the gun, pony Starscream, then at Twilight. "As long as Wheeljack can help, I'll allow it." Starscream nodded. "Alright. I'll agree to that." Starlight handed off the weapon to Twilight as Starscream turned to her. "Thank you for bringing this Starlight, it means a lot to me." Starscream smirked. "That dimwitted Megatron won't even know what hit him!" Starlight heaved a sigh, but smiled back. "You know, for once you could stop being so full of yourself." Starscream scoffed, then laughed, nudging her side playfully. "Gimmer, that's one thing about me you can't change with hugs and kisses." Starlight laughed out loud, responding sarcastically. "That was such a generic line!" Starscream smiled and sighed in defeat, flying up into the air. "Hey, at least I'm trying. I'm still new to this type of thing." Starlight rolled her eyes. "I know, I know. Your flirting game does need some serious work though." Starscream laughed wearily. "Okay, okay, let's go before Starlight starts making fun of me." Starlight smirked. "It's too late for that Starry. Because I know just what to say and do to get you flustered." Starscream blushed, and turned away, starting towards the Autobots base. "W-whatever. I won't let you get me that easily." Starlight was satisfied with her victory, and let him off. "Well I guess we should get going too." Wheeljack pointed out, and he nodded to Optimus. Optimus nodded back as Twilight was trotting towards Starlight excitedly. "So, based on what he said a few hours ago, and your interactions now-" Starlight laughed nervously, and blushed, looking down to the ground beside her. "Yeah.. turns out being in a pony form for so long has enabled him to feel the same." Twilight beamed. "Oh my gosh! No way! He does love you!" "Wait, hold up just one minute. Is that what he meant by saying love is a "wonderful feeling"?" Wheeljack interjected. Optimus also seemed curious. "He's actually learned to feel that emotion?" Starlight nodded. "Just like I explained a second ago." Twilight couldn't stop smiling for her friend. She gave Starlight a hug. "I'm so proud of you Starlight! You must be over the moon!" Starlight returned the hug. "I am." They both departed from the hug, Starlight smiling. "And I know it doesn't look like it, but Starscream's over the moon as well." Twilight chuckled, and looked back. "Yeah, I think we've gotten used to his personality well enough to know." As they were, Starscream suddenly flew back into the picture. He groaned with annoyance. "You guys are so slow! Let's get a move on already, I have a battle to win." Both Starlight and Twilight sighed, but smiled. "Yes Starscream. We were just talking about how wonderful it is you two are finally together. It must be an honor to have Starlight as your girlfriend." That comment flustered the pegasus once again, but he quipped back, suppressing a stumble in his words. "Hey, I think it's the other way around. She's the one who should be honored to have someone like myself." Starlight suppressed a laugh. "Well we best be going." Twilight flew to the air. Starlight smirked. "You wouldn't want to face the wrath of the all mighty Starscream, now wouldn't you?" Starscream smirked back. "You're dang right." Wheeljack turned, and pointed to ponyville as the two friends flew off. "I'm going to go-" Optimus interrupted, sending him on his way. "Oh Yeah, yeah, go ahead." He tranformed, and drove away. "Good to know he's as egotistical as ever." Optimus observed. Starlight smiled. "I guess that's something we really won't ever change." "Hand me the rench please." Wheejack and Starscream were working together on the null ray gun. Since Starscream was staying in his pony form for now, he could reach some places that Wheeljack couldn't. Twilight was holding a small gemstone with her magic. At the moment it was colorless. "This is one exceptional piece of tech you got here Starscream." Wheeljack commented, tinkering with the barrel. Starscream connected a few things, and took a step back, wiping his forehead with his hoof. "Yeah, I remember when I first designed it, I made sure it was able to be tweaked and modified so I could change it if I ever needed to." Turns out the two tech nerds got along, who knew? Starscream turned to Twilight. "Okay Twilight, do you have the gem ready?" She shook her head. "Not yet. I was waiting for you two to finish the other parts of the upgrade." Wheeljack glanced at the gem. "So, this gem will allow your gun to run on magic itself when you have no energon for it?" Starscream nodded. "Essentially, yes. In order to power it, a unicorn or an alicorn must activate the gem, and store some of their own magic inside. From there it'll collect it's own magic from the air around it." Twilight stared at the jewel. "Usually you need two skilled unicorns for this. But I'm sure I can activate it." "Need any assistance?" The three looked down from the workbench to see Starlight trotting in, levitating a white bag. "Hey Starlight." Twilight greeted. Starscream flew down from the bench to greet her with a hug. "How's progress?" She asked. "It's been cruising along nicely." Starscream replied. He brought his attention to the bag. "What's in the bag?" "Only one of your favorite sweet treats from Sugarcube Corner." She broke off a piece of a brownie, and levitated it to him. Starscream took it gratefully, as Starlight took out a banana pudding cream puff to give to Twilight as he ate. "Wait, you can eat things?" Wheeljack questioned, still working on the barrel. "Yeah. That's why I haven't needed any energon in my normal form recently." Starscream answered, flying back up to the table. "Oh, Starlight, we could use your assistance." Starlight smiled, and teleported to the table. Twilight presented the gem to Starlight. "Some magical assistance?" Starlight nodded, and the two transferred their magic to the gem, making it glow periwinkle. Starscream watched with awe. He was always curious about how magic actually works, though he could never get a straightforward answer. Twilight handed the gem to Starscream who took it in hoof. Twilight took a bite of her cream puff and Starlight levitated out a doughnut from the bag as Starscream took a step forward to place the gem in its spot. He connected two wires to the bottom of the plate the gem resided on, and closed the panel with a little force. "Wheeljack, are you done with fiddling over there?" Wheeljack moved his servos away from the barrel. "Yep, the shots taken from this should be more clean and poignant." As Wheeljack spoke, Rainbow Dash came into the room carrying a decently sized chest. "Yo Star," Their attention went to Rainbow. "This just arrived at the castle with your name on it." Starscream was confused. He flew down to RD. "What? Who would be sending me something like this?" Rainbow put the box down, and landed next to it. Starscream put a hoof on it as she spoke. Twilight and Starlight came down to join them. "I don't know. There isn't a name given for the sender." He glanced at Starlight, whom shrugged. He unhooked the latch on the chest, and opened the top. Starscream and the three friends gasped lightly. Inside, was a royal guard's armor, but a special type. It was white, gold, and blue. "That's the armor reserved for the captain of the entire Royal Guard!" Twilight exclaimed in surprise. "The what now?" Wheeljack walked out from behind the workbench. "No one's ever worn it before!" Starlight looked on in astonishment. "Not even my brother.." Twilight added. Rainbow Dash got a little excited. "They've said it mixes Flash Magnus's armor with modern Guard armor and the wonderbolts' outfit." Starscream picked up the helmet, and noticed a note in the bottom of the chest. He picked it up to read it, helmet in his other hoof. You will need this for the upcoming battle. We trust you will use it wisely. Good luck Starscream. ~Princess Celestia He was just as surprised as the others were. "Princess Celestia sent this?" Twilight was slightly confused. "I guess.." Starscream didn't know what to make of it either. Starscream gazed at the helmet he held in his hooves. "Don't just stand there then." Rainbow Dash pushed. "Try it on!" "I don't know..." He still didn't seem very certain. "Well, Celestia sent this to you for a reason. It must be pretty important." Twilight assured him, remembering what Celestia had done for her over the years. Starscream glanced at Starlight. She nodded in agreement with Twilight. He gazed at the letter one last time, before letting it fall into the box. Without any hesitation, he pulled on the helmet and armor. He stood in a pose, looking at himself. He smirked. Rainbow flew into the air, giving a smile. "Looking good Star!" "It fits you almost too perfectly." Twilight noted. "It does doesn't?" Starscream held a smug grin, flapping open his wings to get a better sense of the armor. He took to the air. "This armor is strangely very aerodynamic. Most likely created for physical conflict." He assessed the set, and flew back down. "Although, I've never gotten the shape of these helmets. I know it's for a uniform and united look, but I feel like they could have been designed better." Starlight grinned, and walked over to Starscream, giving him a side hug. "Well, its striking presentation does suit you." He took the helmet off, and nuzzled her cheek with his own. "It would look better with purple." Rainbow chuckled, flying up to the table, next to Wheeljack. "Not to ruin the moment, but don't you have to get back to your project?" "Nope, we finished it." Wheejack said. "Really?" Rainbow looked to the table, and at the gun. Starscream broke the hug, putting the helmet on the ground, and flying over to Rainbow and Wheeljack. "It may need a few test runs, but everything's up and ready to go." As he as preoccupied, Starlight picked up the helmet with her magic, gazing at it with curiosity. Twilight came over to her and whispered something to her. Starlight chuckled and nodded in response. Starlight spoke to Starscream. "Hey Starry~" He turned to see Starlight attempting to wear the helmet. She smirked. "How do I look?" Starscream laughed out loud, and flew back down to her. "You're head's too small for it Glimmer." He took the helmet off of her, and Starlight attempted to give a surprise kiss on his nose. But he was quick on the draw, and immediately met her lips instead, making her "eep" in surprise. He departed first, a smug look on his face. He stared at her with eyes that shone with mischief. "You know you can't play those tricks with me." Starlight chuckled shyly, looking away from his gaze. "Daww~" Twilight awwed at the cute sight, and Starscream remembered there were others here with them. He quickly became shy and embarrassed. Starlight silently giggled at his face full of guilt. "It's okay to kiss in public Star." "Oh. Right." He mumbled, recalling a scene from two of their friends. Suddenly, Jetfire came rushing in. "Optimus needs us, all of us, urgently!" The ponies looked to Wheeljack, who followed Jetfire out. The three followed, Starscream flying up to get his gun, and putting the gaurd helmet on. The time has come. Author's Note Hey all, it's been a little while since I got to this fic, but the passion's back and I'm going to finish this! Next chapter is in progress, thank you for your patience. Write you later! //-------------------------------------------------------// Battlefield //-------------------------------------------------------// Battlefield They arrived to Optimus' location. He was looking above to the city of Canterlot. A singular plume of smoke was rising from the main castle. It was late afternoon. Twilight gasped, as the small group of ponies, and Wheeljack & Jetfire met the other Autobots. "He's decided to attack a day early." Optimus spoke coldly. "Well we can't just stand here! What are we waiting for?" Bumblebee seemed a little too eager to battle Decepticons. Optimus agreed, quickly glancing at "North Star", whom nodded in understanding. "Autobots, roll out!" The Autobots began to move toward Canterlot, Starscream hoisting his null ray gun under him. He was already geared up, but before he could leave, Starlight's voice stopped him. "Wait, Starscream!" He turned to see her concerned face. Twilight and Rainbow Dash looked worried as well. Starlight's eyes shimmered. "Please be careful." Starscream gave her hug, and a small kiss. "I will. Pinkie promise." He departed, and turned looking back into the direction the Autobots were heading. He spread open his wings, and broke from the ground, quickly catching up with the Transformers. Starlight waved, Rainbow giving some parting words. "Good luck Star, kick their flanks back to space!" Twilight looked on in silence, hoping for the best. Suddenly she remembered something. 'Why did he ask Zecora for the poison joke cure?' Starscream weaved through the Autobots, eventually soaring higher near Optimus Prime. "Is your null ray weighing you down at all?" Wheeljack asked, noting how smoothly Starscream was flying. "A little bit, and it is a little awkward to maneuver, but it's manageable." Optimus wondered where he had got the armor, but decided to say nothing. As they approached Canterlot, Optimus gave out the battle plan. "Wheeljack and Prowl, focus on his forces, Bumblebee, Jazz, you're with me. Blurr, you're on damage control. The rest of you follow Wheeljack in. Starscream." Star looked at the semi truck. "You're going in to rescue the princesses, and escort them safely out of here. Do not purposely seek out Megatron, I can handle him." Starscream groaned in annoyance. "You know that if and inevitably when I do run into him, I'm going to engage. And I intend to not let you get in my way." "Just deliver Celestia and Luna safely out of the city. That's your number one priority." Optimus reinforced. "Yeah, yeah, I got it." Starscream replied with annoyance, as the crew was heading straight towards the archway into the city. The Autobots tranformed as they entered with an explosive entrance, and Starscream immediately flew off forward to the smoking castle. Flying by, he saw a yellow unicorn being cornered by Demolisher, her eyes widening in fear. Demolisher's foot was about to crush her when Starscream swooped in and grabbed the unicorn out of the way in the nick of time. He flew behind a building and set her down, the mare realizing she had been saved. She stood and gasped in relief, sight planted on the ground. "T-thank you, I thought I was a gonner-" She lifted her eyes to see him hovering, surprise entering her irises. "S-sir." Starscream didn't have time to dwell on the reaction, and flew up a little higher. "You need to get yourself and other ponies out of here. The Autobots are making their way through the main entry way to the city, so gather as many ponies as you can, and head towards the mountainside. Making it there will be more secure, and I'll be there shortly with the princesses." He said no more and flew away, once more heading towards the castle, flying more swiftly now. He unhitched his gun, and held it in his hooves. He dodged crumbling infrastructure, and even managed to shoot at a few Decepticons without them knowing he was there. The stakes of the destruction around him filled his senses with an excitement he remembered from battles as a Decepticon. This time he was fighting for good. He smirked to himself. He quickly saw another scene. A small group of Royal Guard soldiers were struggling against Thundercracker, who had the upper hand. The shooting was getting severe and their cover grew small. Starscream realized if he didn't do something, the guards would be surely killed. One of the gaurds shielded himself and two other soldiers with magic, but he couldn't hold it for long. Starscream took aim, and shot at the gun Thundercracker was shooting. "Hey!" Thundercracker looked around, and finally saw the ponified Starscream. He didn't recognize him at first. "You!" Starscream began shooting continuously, dodging shots from Thundercracker while flying down to the soilders. "Take cover in that shop there." He pointed with his wing, taking Thundercracker's attention away from the ponies. Starscream smirked. "Haven't you missed me Thundercracker?" Thundercracker recognized his voice, but before he could say anything, Starscream shot at him again, Thundercracker dodging by hiding behind a big building. He chuckled. "Is that you Starscream? Megatron wasn't kidding when he said you turned pony." Starscream took a few more shots before flying over to the 5 soilders. Thundercracker quickly became occupied with attacks from the air, and leaving a window open for Starscream. Starscream landed as he spoke. "Are you guys alright?" The soilders immediately saluted, and the unicorn, who was presumably the group's leader, spoke. "Better now that you're here sir." "Princess Celestia said you'd come." A pegasus informed him. That slightly surprised Starscream, and he remembered the armor he was wearing. 'They must think I'm head commander of the royal Guard. But why would Celest-' He quickly shook off the thought, now was not a good time to think deeply. "Listen, that Decepticon will escape if we don't hold him down." Another unicorn in the group spoke. "But how are we going to be able to do that sir? Even with our magic, his size is a huge advantage to him." Starscream glanced around at their surroundings, and quickly noticed a long line of rope. "Maybe we can make it his disadvantage instead." He gave his attention to the gaurds. "Listen, a Transformer's most weakest points are their joint connectors, wrist to servo, arm to shoulder plates, basically the spots between their frame parts. If I and a few others distract Thundercracker, the rest of you could use that rope there to tie it around his arms and legs. Then with a lot of pulling, we can cause him to fall." "How are we going to keep him down? He'll snap out of the rope easily." An earth pony pointed out, going over to pick up the rope. Starscream looked down at the gun he was holding. "I know how to make him stay." He went back into the air, peeking behind the building. "As soon as I yell now, you all will run out and start to weave the rope around the joints. Is that clear?" The unicorn nodded. "Yes commander sir." "Retreating already I see?" Thundercracker was back in the moment, glancing behind the building he was at. Starscream nodded at the soilders, and flew out into the line of fire. Thundercracker saw him. Thundercracker moved from his position to shoot, and Star returned fire, gaining more near hits on Thundercracker. Thundercracker grimaced. "Why won't you stay still?" Starscream flew through his legs, taking a charged up shot at Thundercracker's left wing. It hit his wing, and Thundercracker yelled sharply in pain, a small plume of smoke escaping from the shot. He turned his head as Starscream spoke. "This ends here and NOW!" The soilders heard the cue, and the unicorn officer picked up the rope with magic, the group running out from the building. One unicorn wrapped some rope around Thundercracker's right leg joint, then another unicorn did the same to his other leg joint. The pegasus grabbed the rope and weaved it around his arms. "What are-" Starscream shot his other wing, Thundercracker quickly glancing back at the pony Starscream, grimacing with anger. The two earth pony soilders held the end of the rope with their teeth, Starscream flying over to the pegasus to help pull. "Everypony pull!" Both sides pulled the rope, the rope becoming taught around Thundercracker. Thundercracker tried to break free from the ropes, but in doing so, tripped himself and he fell backwards hard onto the street. Starscream let go of the rope. "Keep it tight a little longer." A unicorn went to help the pegasus, and Starscream flew down to stand on the frame of Thundercracker, whom was still struggling in the tangled up rope. Starscream smirked, Thundercracker staring at him with disappointment. "You betrayed us." "Come Thundercracker, I only saw a better way for me." He aimed his null ray under him at Thundercracker. "I take pity on you. So I'll just leave you in short-term sensory processor shortage." "You wouldn't." Thundercracker spoke about the null ray. Starscream charged up the ray shot, and the resulting hit rendered the blue seeker unconscious, or a transformer version of passing out. Starscream slightly sighed. "It had to be so." The Royal Guard soilders looked slightly horrified, thinking he had just killed the Decepticon. He looked to the soilders. "Don't worry, He's not dead. He's just unconscious for now." The soilders dropped the rope, and Starscream flew down to the ground, the soilders lining up in formation. Starscream slung his gun on his back. "Where are the others?" "The Decepticons scattered the Royal Guard troops who were protecting the front gates of the castle, us included." The armored unicorn informed Star. "They're holding the princesses in the heart of the castle, and I think one of them's forcibly trying to extract their magic." Starscream flew into the air. "What are we waiting for then?" "Sir?" An earth pony gaurd asked. Star looked towards the main castle, hearing the battles all around them. "I was sent in here to rescue the princesses, and I'm not going to let any more harm come to them. Now are you coming or not? The Autobots have the Decepticon forces distracted." The other unicorn nodded, and saluted. "Of course we are. It's our duty to." He waved to the group. "Let's go. We can pick up any other soilders who've been dispersed." Starscream flew off, the group of guards joining him. While going along they found and encouraged other members of the Guard to join, and soon Star was heading a little army of his own. As they reached the main castle, the Autobots' battle was growing nearer to the capital building. The gap to rescue was closing in. They ran across the courtyard, Starscream flying in front of them but keeping the surroundings in check. A couple of earth ponies and pegasi bust through the castle doors, and Starscream went off to find the throne room with a unicorn, and 2 earth pony soilders. They ran through another set of doors and were greeted by Soundwave and Skywarp, whom were readying energon cubes and an extraction machine. The 3 soilders were quickly intimidated but Starscream immediately started shooting. "Get to the princesses! I'll hold them off!" The guards ran past the Decepticons, seeing the princesses contained in two different cells. They were chained up with ani-magic cuffs, making it extremely difficult to use any magic. Suddenly the Decepticon-turned-Autobot Jetfire busted through the wall, the battle outside dangerously close to the castle now. Jetfire tackled Soundwave so Starscream could focus on Skywarp. "Get the princesses out of here!" Jetfire yelled to Starscream. Starscream quickly shot the wings of Skywarp, and zipped over to the Royal Gaurds. They just finished helping take off the princessess' cuffs when Starscream flew down. "Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, we have to get you out of here." "You're quite right." Luna looked up, and saw a piece of rubble falling. Celestia and Luna used their magic to shield the soilders from the debris. "But we have to do our part as much as the Autobots are." Celestia enforced, the group of ponies running out of the castle. Starscream stared flying after the princesses and the Gaurd. "Celestia and I have to rescue our citizens. After that we should be joining the battle." Luna informed him, the three flying through smoke and avoiding tumbling rubble. On the battlefield, the forces had pinned Optimus and his forces behind cover. Megatron quickly glanced around the environment, making sure no stone was left unturned. Suddenly Soundwave ran up to Megatron, keeping Jetfire distracted with Lazerbeak, Ravage, and Rumble. "Sir, the princesses have been liberated." "What?!" Celestia looked to Starscream. "That is, if it's not over, Starscream." Megatron gave the surroundings one last scan, and saw him. Starscream was surprised that Celestia knew his name. "How do you-" A bone chilling scream pierced the air. "STARSCREAM!" Starscream stopped flying, and hovered. He looked behind him. From a way away, Megatron was coming. Optimus saw Megatron heading towards Starscream, and quickly got concerned. Starscream looked back to the guards. "Go! Go on! I'll take care of him!" He looked to Princess Celestia and Luna. They knew what he had to do, and nodded, taking charge of retreating soilders. Starscream landed on top of a building, and quickly detached his armor, leaving him bare. He kicked his null ray away, just at the right distance for him to grab it. Megatron was about a couple yards away, and he stopped like he was going to speak. Starscream smirked. "Too bad Megatron. Your strategy has failed you yet again. As always you will continue to lose, and I am eagerly anticipating to see that happen again. This time, by my own servos." Megatron charged at Starscream. "Your defeat against me will always be inevitable Starscream!" "Oh no." Optimus whispered to himself out loud, feeling the presence of another Autobot next to him. Starscream pulled out the Poison Joke cure. "Not this time Megatron. This time I'll be the one on top!" He drank it, then threw the glass onto the ground, followed by a Trixie brand smoke bomb. As the smoke permeated, Megatron was about to strike. Optimus and the one who was next to him, Jetfire, had their optics set on the scene, slightly fearing the implication. In the smoke, the null ray was grabbed by a blue servo, and attached back in its rightful place. An empty, open but reaching to grab servo immerged from the smoke first. Then the arm, and as the smoke cleared, it was the seeker's frame becoming distinct immediately. Optimus and a few others gasped audibly. The two Transformers clashed, and Megatron was pushed back far from the unexpectedly same match of force. He looked back to see who had pushed him. A handful of feet away, stood Starscream as his normal self, the Decepticon symbol on his wings gone. He was back. And he wore the biggest smirk on his face. "Did you miss me?" Megatron stood tall. "So you haven't forgotten your basis after all." Starscream readied himself. "No, I've been saving it for this!" Megatron was in the middle of readying himself when Starscream charged at him and tackled Megatron, thrusting him into a tall spire. "We have to help him!" Jetfire immediately wanted to fly over to his past friend, but Optimus denied him. "No! Wait. This is something that has to happen." Optimus hadn't understood it until now, but this was something Starscream had to do. Megatron quickly focused himself, and punched Starscream in the face, causing Starscream to stumble back a little. Megatron powered up his cannon, and luckily Starscream saw this. Starscream tranformed and flew away, the blast missing him by a small distance. Megatron grimaced, quickly looking up to the sky. Starscream started shooting down Megatron, Megatron raising an arm to block some shots. He aimed his cannon at Star, and took a shot. Starscream tried to maneuver past it, but the cannon fire hit his right wing, tearing a big tip piece off and causing Star to scream. He started falling from the sky, smoke coming from his wing. He tranformed as he got close to the ground. As his feet touched the ground however, Megatron rushed him, hitting him at full force with the side of his body, Star's feet dragging across the battlefield. Starscream grimaced because of his wing. Megatron got out his energy mace, and came swinging at Starscream. Starscream reacted fast, grabbing a piece of rubble to shield from the swing. The force of the swing broke the rubble in half, and Starscream began dodging hits. Starscream clenched his right servo into a fist, and began a swing under the attacks. But Megatron saw, and swung at Starscream's servo, messily ripping it off with hard and swift force. Starscream screamed in agony, heavily stumbling backwards and grabbing his right wrist, clearly taking in the pain. It caused him to fall to his knees, and his helm dragged down, pinning his right arm to himself. Megatron kicked Starscream bluntly, causing Starscream to completely fall down, flying a few extra feet away. Starscream felt slightly hazy, his arms spread wide, beginning to feel lightheaded. A crushing foot stepped on his chassis, and Starscream could see it was Megatron. "You're still as weak as ever Starscream. You have learned nothing." Megatron aimed his cannon at Starscream, the cannon powering up. Starscream's center optics rolled up slightly, feeling pain course though his entire frame. He then remembered her. What he was supposed to be for. 'You are the key..' 'Please...' Starscream's focus shone through his optics, and his frame went back into a fight response. Everything went fast. His left servo suddenly reached up, and ripped the cannon away from Megatron, his left ray gun powering up the biggest blast. The gun shot, and hit Megatron's opposite side of his chest, just missing Megatron's spark chamber. Megatron screamed sharply in pain, stumbling back, allowing Starscream to breathe deeply and heavily. Starscream slowly stood, still holding his right wrist. Megatron was holding a servo to the shot. It had gone through, if not pretty deep, and Starscream could make out the top of the protective shield around the spark. Megatron was breathing at the same rate as Starscream, also in the same pain, if not more so. The two stared at each other for a long minute. Megatron spoke slowly but loudly. Out loud, but also through his comm. "Deceptions, Retreat! I.. have been damaged!" Starscream saw a recently awoken Thundercracker and Skywarp fly in (not in their alt modes), and take Megatron by the arms. They didn't bother to look at Starscream, but Megatron stared at him until the two Decepticon seekers flew off, Megatron in their servos. Starscream continued to breathe heavily as he watched them retreat. The city was saved, even though the damage was severe. Buildings on fire, the castle losing bits and pieces, rubble everywhere. But they did it. He did it. His dermas upturned into a smug smile, but quickly dissipated as the pain came back. He started to feel lightheaded again. He heard the Autobots, more specifically Optimus Prime and Jetfire yelling and running over to him, but the pain was too much and Starscream's optics began closing. He fell backwards to the ground, and everything went black. Author's Note I've got one more chapter after this folks, don't worry. Is Starscream going to be okay? Write you later! //-------------------------------------------------------// Finding Destiny //-------------------------------------------------------// Finding Destiny ... "We've got a wounded soldier here!" "I can't believe it, Starscream, you actually-" "His damages are too severe. We need to bring him back to the ship so Ratchet can can get him on ESS." "What about the civilians? And the princesses?" "Starscream got them out of the city safely... Hang on, Starscream, hang on.." ... Starlight hadn't left the spot the Autobots left in hours, and Twilight was now deeply concerned for her friend. The main 6 walked back to the area, Twilight seeing Starlight still there, sitting down, looking up to Canterlot. Twilight walked up next to her. "Starlight." "The smoke stopped." Twilight looked up to Canterlot. It was true, the smoke had stopped. Starlight stood. "The Decepticons retreated about an hour ago. But I can't help but get the feeling something bad has happened." The 6 ponies surrounded Starlight, looking towards the war torn city. All of a sudden, their ears twitched. Rainbow Dash flew up. "Do you guys hear that?" The hum of a far off motor became louder and louder. Applejack held a hoof over her eyes and squinted, making out a small fleet of vehicles. "It's them y'all! They've made it back!" The ponies' attention went to the Autobots in their alt modes, diving (or in Jetfire's case flying) a little faster than the speed they left at. As Optimus Prime went past the ponies, he slowed to speak. "We forced the Decepticons to abandon the fight, but there's been a cost." He couldn't say anymore, Starscream needed immediate repair right now. "What?" The ponies spoke in unison. Optimus drove off, leaving them behind. That frustrated Twilight, but also concerned her and Starlight. "What do you- Hey! Where are you all-" Jetfire tranformed and landed near them as the Autobot forces rolled by. "There's been a situation. It's Starscream. He-" Jetfire saw the change in Starlight's expression. She suddenly became extremely concerned, and slightly frightened at what he implied. Jetfire sighed, and transformed, gesturing her forward. "Starlight, I think you need to be there." Jetfire started flying off, and the ponies followed, Starlight charging forward, getting more worried by the second. When they got to the Autobots' ship, Ratchet was pulling out the unconscious Starscream from Optimus' trailer, helped by Wheeljack. Starlight stopped, gasping. Her eyes widened. "Starscream? He's-" "He used some sort of potion to turn him back to normal, and fought head to head with Megatron." Optimus spoke, transforming as Ratchet and Wheeljack took him into the ship. "The Poison Joke cure..." Twilight spoke to herself. 'He was planning that showdown.' Optimus finished explaining. "He went into involuntary stasis because if his injuries. And, I think his spark might be in jeopardy. If we don't get him on Emergency Spark Support now, he might offline." The ponies gasped, and Starlight ran into the ship, feeling the weight of emotion tease her irises. "He can't-! I won't-" Optimus stepped in front of Starlight. "Starlight. Ratchet's going to do all he can to save and heal him, but-" "I need to be with him. Whatever form he takes." Her eyes pleaded with Optimus. That pleasantly surprised the Autobot leader. He bent down to her. "...You really need to be by Starscream's side this badly.. " Starlight put a hoof to her heart. "He needs me." For a minute Optimus was silent, before granting her request. "Alright." She stayed by his side, the tear ducts in her eyes staying at a constant. Small tears escaped her as she begged for him not to die. Once Ratchet had secured his spark, he went to work on repairing his wing and servo. Starscream would stay in involuntary stasis for the next few hours. As the evening turned to night, Ratchet carefully finished his repairs on Starscream. Star had still not awoken from the unconscious state. Starlight refused to leave his side until he would awake. For now, Ratchet was curious, and took a closer look at Starscream's spark x-rays. He saw something strange about them. The end of the early night was here as Optimus walked into the infirmary. Starlight had fallen asleep near Starscream's right faceplates, the seeker not having woke up yet. Ratchet waved a servo to Optimus Prime, looking at the monitor. "Prime, take a look at this." Optimus walked over to Ratchet. "What is it Ratchet?" Optimus looked to the monitor as Ratchet spoke. "First, take a look at his protective shell." The shield that protected Starscream's spark was paper thin. This was usually a sure sign of old age in a Transformer, but Starscream wasn't even close to that age. Optimus didn't overthink that. "It's thinner than most, yes?" Ratchet pointed to the center. "But look at his spark." Optimus immediately noticed a difference. The spark was bigger than it should be, and its spark strands were more wild and wavy, not very uniform. Every spark has a different center, but Starscream's entire spark was a little bit different. Ratchet typed in commands to Teletraan-1 to get a close up. "It's three times bigger than it should be, and his normal spark beat is faster than any other Cybertronian I know." Optimus hummed in thought. "It looks like he has a mutated spark." "And only a select few ancestors of ours had this type of spark once." Ratchet turned to Optimus. Optimus thought deeply for a minute, before it hit him. "-! This would mean.." Ratchet turned back to look at the monitor. "Exactly. Starscream here's got an indestructible spark." "But that mutation was phased out before Primus even ascended to form Cybertron.." Optimus spoke lowly to himself. He turned to gaze at the still Starscream. "Then why? Why does Starscream have one?..." After a minute, Optimus suddenly saw a digit on Starscream's left servo move slightly. "Ratchet." Ratchet quickly turned, and walked over to Starscream with Optimus. Starscream slowly opened his optics. A shining light above him caused him to blink a few times, the room becoming clearer and his frame once again feeling the world around him. He could make out two frames standing over him, and once vision was clear, he noted it was Ratchet and Optimus Prime. "Did I.. Faint?.." Optimus spoke. "Glad you made it back Starscream." Ratchet checked his vitals as he talked. "You were banged up pretty bad, I had to repair your servo and your wing." Starscream briefly glanced down to his right servo, all replaced and good as ever. He looked back up to the two Autobots. "What about Megatron?" Optimus answered simply. "Canterlot was saved. The Decepticons fell back." Starscream mumbled under his breath. "Slag.." "You pierced a pretty good shot through him, though it's safe to bet he's certainly not through." Optimus said. Suddenly Starscream was concerned about a certain somepony. "Where's Starlight? Is she-" Ratchet pointed to his wing. "She'd refused to leave your side until you reactivated." It was only then did Starscream register the warmth near his neckplate and lower faceplate. His helm and optics slightly shifted, to see the sleeping unicorn next to him. He exhaled with relief. The warm outtake made Starlight's ear twitch, and she slowly woke up. She gently opened her eyes, recognizing the familiar breath. She looked up to see Starscream staring at her. Starlight gasped, a big smile stretching across her face. Starscream smiled softly at her happiness. She stood up, Optimus walking out of the room to go tell the rest of Star's condition. "Star! You're okay!" Starlight nuzzled his chin with her neck happily. Starscream chuckled, tilting his helm into the action. "Of course I am." Ratchet had looked up to Starscream briefly from his work, and smiled at the scene, continuing his vitals check. Starlight pulled herself away, and stomped a hoof. "I told you to be careful!" Starscream chuckled again. "Hey, I'm alive aren't I?" "That's not the point! I was-" Starlight stopped, and rephrased what she was saying. "I understand that you where going to get hurt, but I still was worried sick about you." The main 6, along with Jetfire, Wheeljack, and Bumblebee walked in, in front of Optimus. Starscream slowly raised a servo over himself and placed a digit under her chin. "Thank you for that. It feels good to know that you love me that much." Starlight smiled sheepishly, looking away as he retreated his servo back down to his side. It was a big deal to her that he had said so out loud and around others. "Good to see you in stable condition Starscream." Jetfire greeted as Ratchet put down the tablet. "Alright, you sould be able to sit up, but take it slow. That spat you had with Megatron really took a lot of energon out of you." Starlight teleported herself to the edge of the table so Starscream could sit up. "I knew you'd beat those Decepti-creeps back into next Tuesday!" Rainbow celebrated with enthusiasm. "Where you planning to fight Megatron in your normal form?" Twilight asked, wanting to confirm her thoughts from earlier that day. Starscream nodded. "Yes I was. That's why I had Zecora bring those elixirs to me." "We're all relieved to see that you're okay." Jetfire expressed his relief for him. Starscream looked on to Jetfire, and gave a smile. It was good to know they were friends again. Starlight came closer to Starscream. "You know, you could have told me you were going to fight in your normal form." Starscream chuckled. "I wanted it to be a surprise." Starlight grinned, looking down. "I will admit, you are quite handsome as your normal self." Starscream gave a smile of smugness. "I am aren't I?" Starlight rolled her eyes, still smiling. "You have done well Starscream." The ponies immediately recognized the regal voice. The main 6 turned to the doorway, Starlight and Starscream's attention also went to the sound of the voice. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna had made the trip to Ponyville. "Princess Celestia! Princess Luna!" Twilight exclaimed, trotting up to hug them both. The main 5 and Starlight bowed with respect. "Why are you two here?" Celestia looked around the room. "We came to give our deepest appreciation to Autobots, and to the one who aided us in our escape." Starscream shook his helm. "I was just doing the job princesses." Celestia and Luna walked up to him, Luna speaking. "And you have done fairly." "I trust the armor we sent you was used to its effect?" Celestia asked. Starscream nodded once, but felt himself sigh. "Yes, but I left it on the battlefield." "You mean this armor?" Luna teleported the scratched up armor into the scene. Starscream's optics shuttered (blinked). "How?" Luna set down the armor on the floor. "We made it a matter that this would get back to you." Starscream looked down at the armor, then the princesses. He had a question to ask. "Why did you send me this armor? The Royal Guard thought I was head captain. Why would you want them to see me as such?" Celestia picked up the armor with her magic, levitating it up to Starscream's thigh as she talked. "There are great things awaiting you in your future Starscream. But you still have plenty to learn before you become truly worthy of wearing this armor." She set the armor down on him. Starscream was suprised, gazing down at the armor. His optics shot up to Celestia. "Are you saying you want me to be captain of Equestria's military in the future?" Luna closed her wings. "That's up to you to decide. You will have to work hard for it and overcome some things that may be difficult. It's your choice." Starscream set the armor aside, next to Starlight. He slowly stood, taking it slow as he did. Celestia spoke. "If you ever want to take up the offer, there will always be a space open in the Royal Guard for you to begin." Starscream took a knee, and bowed out of respect. "I'll keep it in mind, your Majesties." Celestia smiled and turned to her sister. "We must be off now. There's a lot of work to be done." Starscream stood up, checking over himself to see how well Ratchet did with his repairs. Celestia turned, walking over to Optimus. "Optimus Prime, we are indebted to you and your fellow Autobot soilders. We will have to thank you more formally soon." "Thank you. We look forward to it." The princesses left the room, and the main 7 got excited for Starscream. "You just got offered one of the most prestigious titles in Equestria!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "I can't believe she's letting you keep that dashing armor as well." Rarity noted. "Though she said he couldn't wear it until he earned so." Applejack clarified. Starlight teleported herself onto Starscream's shoulder plates. "I'm proud of you Starry." He turned his helm slightly to look at her beaming. He smiled back. "Well, I do know a thing or two when it comes to being top bot." The main 6 collectively gave a sigh to his cockiness, but Starlight just continued smiling. Seemingly out of nowhere, Starlight kissed his cheekplate, catching him off guard. He blinked in surprise and looked to her again. Starlight only closed her eyes and grinned sweetly. Starscream instantly became flustered, and looked away from her. Her friends smiled too, and silently giggled. Starscream now hated how easily flustered he could get. The infirmary emptied as midnight rolled around, leaving only Starlight and Starscream. Starscream sat on a stasis slab in the corner, Starlight laying on his thigh. "Ratchet said to take it slow, and I'm not going to take any chances anyway. So it'll be a few days before I can change back to my pony form." Starlight looked kind of disappointed. "Oh..." Starscream smirked, and rested himself down on the slab. "You think you're going to miss more intimate moments with me?" Starlight's head jerked up to look to his faceplates. "Let me just say my actions are the same in my Cybertronian frame. You won't be missing out." Starscream reached his servo to her, and pulled her close to his helm. Starlight chuckled. "Your attempt to be suave is not lost on me." Starscream's servo covered her back, keeping her warm. She looked to his optics and it filled her with a familiarness she was relieved to feel. "Stop talking. Kiss me now." Starlight giggled at his request, but couldn't say no. The kiss they shared had the exact identical feel and way of their night before. Starlight pointed it out, but didn't pull far back from his dermas(lips). "It feels exactly the same." Starscream captured her breath once more, just pleased to be online and with his unicorn. Sleep overcame Starlight eventually, and Starscream stayed in active mode a little while longer, watching her sleep. He was happy. The battle between the Autobots and Decepticons went on in the ponies' world, Starscream helping out as often as he could. He took up Celestia's offer, and started training in the Wonderbolts Academy first. When he graduated, he would move on to the Royal Guard program. Starscream and Starlight's relationship flourished in both forms and Starscream found a healthy balance using them. Zecora regularly stocked him with the poison joke essence and cure to assure he was prepared. He would stay in Equestria when the Autobots left, but made it open that if they ever needed an extra servo, he would assist if he had the time to. The North Star, Starscream, was content. And all because of a plant that was supposed to be playing a joke... Author's Note Yes I finished it! I had fun finishing this, and I'm into tranformers again. Thank you for reading! Comments are greatly appreciated. Write you later! (P.S. Try to guess who's saying what dialogue in the beginning text. Hint: 4 characters speak, one has two different lines. ;) ) //-------------------------------------------------------// North Star //-------------------------------------------------------// North Star He stared at the blue flower. This was the gateway to the ponies of this world. They wouldn't attack him, if he just laid down in the field... A light grey Pegasus was stepping foot into the armored Ponyville, were the Autobots planned their every move. And unbeknownst to them, a spy. Starscream. This Pegasus had a sharp, striking red and blue mane and tail. His wings, grey, red, and blue, with golden yellow tips. His eyes, a bright red. His cutie mark, a shooting star, symbolizing his speed. His name? North Star. Well, when treated as a pony. As he walked, the town was happily humming as it always did, shining joy as it always did, being as bright as it always is. He hated it. For now. It seemed the Autobots were no where to be found right now. This made him grumble to himself, walking down the main path. 'Great. I have to wait around now. The longer I stay in this pony form-! I swear, I will not last another-" *Bump!* North Star rubbed his head with his hoof in slight pain, more annoyance. "Can you watch where you're going?!" "Terribly sorry, sir." When he looked up, the talented, recently reformed, unicorn Starlight Glimmer was starting to stand from the tumble. A box and its contents were littered all over the ground. "I was a little too wrapped up in my thoughts to notice you there." She started to levitate the supplies back into her box. 'Of course you were.' Starscream thought. "Yeah, yeah, whatever." He stood, and noticed some unusual objects she was carrying. She started walking away. Curiosity got the better of him, and he started to follow her. "What's in the box?" "Just some things for my friendship lesson." Starlight explained, showing him the contents of the box. "Friendship lesson?" He asked. "Yeah. I used to be... Not a good pony. But, I'm learning how to be a good friend, as Twilight's pupil." Starlight smiled. 'Well that sounds just peachy.' He thought sarcastically. Starlight stopped walking and turned to North. "Hey, if you aren't doing anything later today, maybe we can continue this at the local cafe this afternoon. After my lesson and such." Starscream thought about it. 'So she's a pupil of Princess Twilight Sparkle. If that's true, then maybe I could get to the bots through her...' "Um, sure. I have nothing else to do." Starlight smiled at him, starting to walk away. "Great! I'll see you then!" North Star stared at the light purple unicorn as she trotted off. He then sighed heavily. 'Now I have to make friends with her.' But, as things happen in Equestria, the right choice always prevails. Starscream was waiting for Starlight, sitting down on a stump at the Ponyville café. On it, a vase of the cafe's famous dandelions. 'When will she get here?' He thought, impatiently tapping his hoof on the stump. His tapping slowed however, as his eyes had wandered to his two front hooves. 'Hmmm...' He stared at them, this weird, non-worldly pony body as his current state. Yet, it strangely felt refreshing to be a horse... He herd a spell being cast, and glanced up. Starlight had arrived, and walked over to him, a little surprised. She chuckled. "I didn't think you'd take me up on the offer." North Star blinked with confusion. "What? What do you mean?" With that, what Starscream knew about ponies was thrown off slightly. He, like every Decepticon, thought that all ponies fully embraced friendship. Turns out this one was strangely... Still new to it. Starlight rubbed the back of her head. "I'm kinda new to this whole.. Friendship thing." "Really?" Starlight sat across from him. She sighed. "Yeah." She was silent for a moment, thinking about how to word it. "I- brainwashed an entire town into thinking their special talents made them too different, and that those differences would tear them apart." North Star gasped. Not because of how cruel it was, but because it was so unexpected. Coming from a pony no less..? Starscream was now highly interested in Starlight's life story, whether he knew it or not. "Then, I ripped apart time because I wanted revenge on Twilight and her friends." Starlight paused to reevaluate what she just said. Starlight just emotionally told another pony about her past. She was honest. But the craziest thing was that she didn't even know his name yet! Just a sign of things to come for the two as the days would pass. "My first friend moved away when he got his cutie mark. I thought it was the mark's fault. But I was wrong. Just because somepony goes way, doesn't mean they'll be gone forever." Starlight spoke, levitating one the dandelions from the vase, gazing at it. She sighed sadly. "I guess I was jealous of how Twilight and her friends are so close. They would never separate. But, even when I was at my lowest.. Twilight and her friends offered their friendship to me. I was stunned. I guess I should be thankful, which I am, don't get me wrong. Its just been kinda hard making new friends." Starscream was astonished. Not only of the story she told of, but of how friendship made her a better person as a whole... 'What am I thinking?! How could this primitive race use friendship like this?' North Star was speechless. Starlight sighed again, this time apologetically. She levitated the flower back into the vase. "I shouldn't be bearing you with my life problems. It was rude of me." North Star snapped out of his shock. "No, no, it's okay. You needed to get it out of your system, I can understand that." As soon as those words left his mouth, North suddenly stopped. 'Did I just say that?!' Starlight was surprised. She was expecting more of an emotion of concern or fear. Instead he was sympathetic. Starlight could feel a smile growing on her lips. This could be another new friend. Not known by any of the mane 6. North shook his head, trying to get these thoughts rid of. "I would love to hang out with you again." North's eyes shot up to the periwinkle unicorn. She seemed a little excited. "So would I." North said, nodding. He glanced down. 'This may be easier than initially thought.' "Oh, I never caught your name. What is it?" North Star looked up at Starlight. Her smile was genuine. North Star mentally sighed with relief, and gave a polite smile back. "My name's North Star." Author's Note Welcome to yet another random thought that floated across my mindscape. I hope you enjoy. Write you later! //-------------------------------------------------------// Attack On The Heart //-------------------------------------------------------// Attack On The Heart Today was the day. The day he would tell her about these feelings. The day he had renounced his loyalty to them. The day that would change him forever. But, this day had other plans for this peaceful little town in the valley. They would be coming. Starscream was in his normal from in the Everfree, behind Zecora's hut, just booting up from a long stasis nap. It had been a while since he was in this form, so he spent the latter half of the last night stretching and working out, making sure everything still worked properly. He looked to a nearby puddle, and into his reflection. His Decepticon symbol was fading, peeling off like paint. This puzzled him, and he raised his servo to touch it. At that he had a different realization. Next to him, was his his null ray gun, looking particularly dull. He glanced over to it. 'Hmm...' Thereafter, he took it upon himself to revamp his piece of technology, and even made some improvements that occurred to him while hanging around Ponyville. As he was, Zecora came to check up on the past Decepticon, potions in hoof. Starscream greeted her. "Hello Zecora." Presently, Zecora said nothing, and only nodded in response. Starscream was checking over the gun, making sure it was all ready to be used, just in case if anything were to happen. Zecora held out the blue potion, and Starscream took it gratefully. "Thank you." She didn't respond. Starscream was about to drink when Zecora finally spoke. "Change is coming." He lowered the potion, and stared over at her. "I suggest you better start running." He blinked. "...What do you mean?" Zecora ceased to speak no more, and turned away, walking over to the entrance of her home. Starscream raised his voice. "Hey! You didn't answer me!" Zecora ignored the Transformer, opting to go inside her house instead. Starscream let out a heavy sigh. 'Why does she always gotta be so cryptic about it?' It was time. Today would be the day. He was nervous, of course, but that didn't let him down. Starscream, in his pony form, was sitting at the cafe' waiting for Starlight. Starlight trotted up to the cafe, and smiled at the sight of him. "Hiya North!" She greeted. Starscream stood, and smiled back at her. "Hello Starlight." They both shared a warm hug before sitting down on the opposite ends of the small table. "So, why'd you ask me to meet you at the cafe instead of meeting at Twilight's castle?" Starlight asked politely. "Well.. I have something important to tell you." .. "We attack from that point of the village, understood?" "Yes, your greatness." .. "Really? What is it?" She asked North Star, curious. Starscream inhaled. Why was he so nervous? "We've been friends for some time now.." .. "Decepticons, Attack!" .. "And.. I.. I Think I'm-" All at once, the peaceful town erupted into chaos. Missiles were being fired upon pony civilians and their homes, everypony was running for their life. The big machines entered Ponyville flattening anything they could. Starscream turned, and his eyes widened. The Decepticons were here. Starlight was full of worry. Why would they attack Ponyville now? Her face grew determined, and she jumped up from her chair, and starting galloping towards the action. Starscream gasped. He knew what she was doing. "Starlight, no!" She was stopped in her tracks by a huge robot's foot. She looked up wearily, and saw Megatron, leader of the Deceptions, standing before her. "Why hello there, Princess Twilight Sparkle's Pupil." Starlight's eyes widened. He knew her. "What a pleasure it is to crush you." Starlight took a few steps back, fearful now more than ever. Suddenly, Starscream landed in front of Starlight. "Don't you dare touch her." Starlight gasped breathlessly. "North?" Megatron chuckled evilly, and put a foot forward. "Silly little pony. You can not stop the fate of your race." Starscream's expression was of one of hatred, but a hint of confidence. He smirked, with a cocky smile. "Do you really think I'm going to let you, out of all Deceptions, harm ponykind?" Megatron had grown weary, and raised an tightened servo to crush them both. But, When he glanced at the two, he noticed.. Something strange about the pegasus. On his neck, his mane was covering a symbol. A faded symbol. One of theirs. It started to make sense. His color scheme, his attitude, his eyes... Megatron lowered his arm, and chuckled again, this time amused at this discovery. "So, this is where you've been hiding... Starscream." Starscream's eyes widened. 'He.. How?...' Starlight filled with shock and disbelief. That... was impossible. "...North?..." Megatron stepped back, and grinned maliciously, staring the pony-turned Starscream. "I knew you where going to distance yourself from us... But I didn't expect you to actually go this far with it." Starscream's face turned from one of shock back to anger. He opened his wings. "This is not, and will not be your domain any longer Megatron!" He violently broke from the ground, and flew straight towards him. " No!" Starlight screamed out, eyes full of terror, both at his actions and with the nuance that he was Starscream. She didn't want to know.. She didn't want to believe.. She felt a previously unknown tear run down her cheek. Starscream was suddenly captured by the big metal servo of his previous leader. Starscream squirmed restlessly, as Megatron brought him up to eye level. "Pathetic." Starscream grunted, still trying to release from his grasp. He grimaced, and finally looked to Megatron's red, emotionless, robotic eyes. "You're still as useless as you were before, Second in command." He squeezed his grip on the pegasus, Starscream starting to gasp for air. Megatron turned his hand, and revealed the Decepticon symbol under his neck. He whispered something under his breath. "Never should have..." Suddenly, a bolt of blue-green energy zapped his wrist, making him yell furiously. He dropped Starscream in the process, the ex-Deception falling to the ground with a loud crash. Starscream groaned in pain. Starscream glanced behind him, and saw Starlight standing in a fighting stance, her horn pointed to the deception leader. Megatron looked at the unicorn with fury. But he then glanced down at the beaten Starscream. He thought about it, and smirked. "Ruling Equestria will be that much sweeter, knowing you are part of them." He turned, and gave a shout. "Deceptions, Retreat!" He looked back to his previous second-in-command. Starscream stared up at him. "There's nothing for us here." Megatron walked away from them, and the Deception fleet departed the war-torn Ponyville. Ponies whom were hiding slowly crawled out of the holes, cracks, crevices, and other places of shelter during the raid. Twilight suddenly teleported behind Starlight, breathing heavily, indicating her urgency. "It was an ambush. I have no idea where the Autobots were, but the Decepticon's main target was Ponyville." Starlight payed no attention to Twilight, as her eyes were leaking tears. She walked up slowly to Starscream. Starscream was slowly standing up, still shook from his encounter with his previous boss. "North Star?.." He turned, and stared at the broken Starlight. Her eyes were full of tears, waiting for their turn to drip down her cheeks. His eyes widened. "Please..." Starscream looked down in shame, emotions starting to drum up. "Please tell me you're not his Second In Command!?" He closed his eyes, a pain deeper than any gash was making known to him. He looked up to her. "...Yes. I...Was." Starlight's tears started to fall, and she started to weep. Twilight was not expecting this. She was shocked into silence for the time being. Starscream looked back down, and shut his eyes tightly. This was not enough to keep his tears from flowing. Starlight suddenly shrieked out, making both Starscream and Twilight flinch. "HOW COULD YOU LIE TO ME?!" He glanced up to her. The unicorn was broken. And therefore, so was he. He chocked out one word. "I.." Tears blocked his words, and he turned away from her, swiftly flying off, a waterfall now streaming down his face, sobs and cries. Starlight's heart was in pieces. 'After all of this...' She turned, watery eyed to the stunned Twilight. "He was Starscream?!" Starlight closed her eyes. She didn't need to hear his name right now... She ran off, crying, to Twlight's castle and presumably, her room. "Starlight!" She called to her, but dared not follow. She knew this was something to leave alone. The Leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, had arrived with his team, and Twilight's friends. "What was that?" Twilight turned to them, but said nothing. This was something they couldn't fix.
