Crystal Cat

The royal guards were on patrol, while normally they were at the palace a select few were chosen every day to scout the perimeter of the Crystal Empire and even venture into the frozen wastelands if they deemed it necessary. One such guard was doing his rounds when he noticed something shifting about in the snow, preparing himself for what could be lurking there, he approached carefully in case whatever was there was a creature of malevolent intent.

As he got closer he saw that the creature was pony-sized, had a pony somehow gotten lost in the wastelands and was now freezing to death? Was it a creature waiting for an unsuspecting easy meal to pass by that they could pounce on and devour? Something unknown entirely? The guard couldn't be sure. As he was mere centimeters away he noticed that this creature was covered in snow and shivering from the bitter chilling winds that swept across the landscape almost as if the gentle waves of the ocean had traveled north to become the ice. As the guard uncovered the snow surrounding the creature more things became clear, there were paws, pointy ears, a long tail, it was... a cat?
