Chapter 1: Unexpected ally

The so-called "Grogar" occured to be Discord in disguise when his magic was taken away into Bewitching Bell.
Now this evil trio – Cozy Glow, Lord Tirek and Queen Chrysalis are the biggest danger to Equestria – especially since they possess this extremely powerful artifact capable of stealing other creatures' magic they've used on Discord, who was now in Canterlot, warning Mane 6 and Princesses about incoming danger.

The group left Grogar cave with smirks on their faces.

“So, where should we strike first?” Cozy Glow asks while holding Bewitching Bell.

Chrysalis giggles ominously and says – “everywhere”

After that being said, each one headed different directions - Chrysalis went to the School of Friendship to take her revenge on its headmare - Starlight Glimmer, the same mare that encouraged Thorax to share love instead of stealing it, which made him change to good version of changeling and so other changelings did the same. This event led Chrysalis to be dethroned and got Thorax to be their new ruler.
When Chrysalis was getting to her target pony, she came up with a lot of ideas how she could take her revenge on Starlight, all of them were cruel and simply demeaning.

Tirek decided to strike from southwestern side of Canterlot as he knew he'd meet Pillars of Equestria. He also was aware, that even when he would fight legendary ponies, they are no match to his power after getting his part of magic from Bewitching Bell.

Meanwhile Cozy Glow, in a form of alicorn, was holding Bewitching Bell while heading straight to Canterlot Castle to assassinate future ruler of Equestria - Twilight Sparkle. But while she was getting there, some thoughts were going across her head. These thoughts were ideas what she will do after Twilight would be defeated, but soon they were replaced by qualms and wanted to back off from it.

"Am I doing the right thing?" - Cozy Glow said to herself - "Is that what I really want - vengeance and unnecessary casualties?" - she continued. She immediately stopped after saying the latter phrase and was just hovering in the air before she landed and looked down.

"I can't do this! No - I mustn't do this! Not after Twilight showed me her faith in me and let me be her assistant and I awfully betrayed her and all of Equestria by trying to get rid of all its magic!" - tears started to fill Cozy's eyes
"I'm pretty sure she thinks I'm beyond any redemption and I shall show her she's not right about that! I will help them!" - she tried to suppress her tears, but failed miserably - they flowed through her cheeks. She wiped them with her right foreleg. But she quickly realised one thing - Tirek and Chrysalis were coming to Canterlot!

"Oh snap! My two allies, or rather ex-allies, are now on their way to Canterlot! I must hurry up and warn the princesses and Twilight! Maybe it's not too late!" - with that being said, again to herself, Cozy Glow instantly flew up and headed to Canterlot as fast as she could.

"I have enough power to support them in this fight!" - she thought

Meanwhile Twilight, her closest friends - Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Spike, along with Princess Celestia and Luna, a few royal guards and traitor, who is responsible for all that mess, in the day of Twilight's coronation to be the new ruler of Equestria - Discord.

They were getting ready for the raid of three extremely dangerous villains. Despite the fact all of them was prepared everypony was anxious what will happen during this raid. Mainly because they were able to seal away Discord's magic and could use it for their own advantage.

Twilight Sparkle was standing on the throne platform, giving motivational speech to ponies gathered in throne room.

"And I can't do this alone, but I'm not afraid" - Twilight said, closing her eyes "Because with friendship as our armor and teamwork as our power, no pony can ever bring us down" - she said flying, with her hooves spanned

After she said that, something crashed with huge impact force into the stained glass, closest to throne room door, shattering it into tiny pieces, making some object inside red force field enter the room.
Soon the force field disappeared, revealing mysterious "object".

It was Cozy Glow, carrying Bewitching Bell.

Twilight frowned in confusion.

"Cozy Glow? You're an alicorn?" - she asked

"Yes, it's me and indeed I'm an alicorn" - Cozy confirmed. Everyone shot daggers at her and some guards began approaching her.

"Wait, I'm not here to fight. I'm here to warn you and help!" - Cozy yelled, which made guards stop. - "Here, take this bell; it might be useful later"

With that being said, Cozy used her alicorn magic to levitate Bewitching Bell and gave it to Twilight. Everyone wore a frown, that was a mix of confusion, shock and curiosity, why Cozy Glow wants to help them.

Twilight slowly approaches Cozy Glow.

"Okay, I'm surprised, to say the least, but how do I use this thing?" - Twilight asked, pointing at the bell being carried with her magic.

"Oh, huh, should've also given you this" - Cozy slightly embarassed took two sheets of paper hidden in her curls, which were pages ripped from the book used to cast the spell to take "Grogar's" magic.

"Thanks, but...why do you want to help us?" - Twilight asked; she still couldn't believe what was happening.

"I-I reminded my past actions, with trying to wipe out all magic in Equestria and tricking you to go to Tartatus" - Cozy's voice began to crack - "I just feel awful for everything I've done. I want to apologize you all for it, though I don't expect your forgiveness"

Everyone, even princesses and Discord gasped. It definately wasn't what they would expect - malicious, vicious, yet adorable-looking villain come to them, apologize for her actions and even support them.

Shortly after that, Twilight got out from shock and put her hoof under Cozy's chin and gently lifted it, making the filly look at her face.

"Well...I don't know what to say" - Twilight said still unsure, but soon after her mood turned to happiness - "but I'm proud of you. I thought you were beyond redemption and was rotten to the core, but apparently now you understood your mistakes and want to be good once again" - she continued, but soon said somberly "however I still have to take away your alicorn magic"

Cozy Glow looked deeper at her former teacher's eyes and answered:

"I understand" but quickly added "and by the way, Discord's magic is in this bell, I'm sure he wants it back", which made Discord smile.

Twilight took her hoof from her chin, looked at sheet of paper and cast a spell on Bewitching Bell. Then Cozy Glow was no longer an alicorn and Discord got his chaos magic once again.

"Sorry you had to wait that long for your magic" - Cozy said, avoiding eye contact with Discord

"It's fine" - he answered and snapped his fingers, making Cozy appear under his left arm - "besides, that's just amazing that you want to be our little good Cozy once again" - Discord said playfully and booped her nose, which made it scrunch up and Cozy giggled from the tickling.

Everyone seemed to be happy, especially the god of chaos.

"But we should get ready!" - Cozy Glow exclaimed - "Tirek and Chrysalis are on their way to this place, and are more powerful than before, because they also possess their part of magic that was inside this bell"

That sentence made everyone worried again.

"Don't worry Cozy" - Twilight reassured her and everyone else - "we have high chances to win with them. Even if they are strong. And if you really want to help and show you're willing to reform and redeem yourself, you can go with us".

"I'm with you" - Cozy said, smiling and squinting her eyes.

So this is my first fanfic and English is not my primary language, therefore please inform me when I make any misspelling or other error.

I intentionally didn't describe Chrysalis vs Starlight and Tirek vs Pillars fight in details since the story is about Cozy Glow.

Chapter 2: Canterlot raid

The fight between Lord Tirek and Pillars of Equestria was over. It occured that he was more powerful than all Pillars combined so he didn't struggle too much in defeating them.

Chrysalis fought Starlight Glimmer and ex-queen of changelings was victorious. As soon as she disoriented Starlight with magical blast, she wrapped her enemy's body and horn with changeling goo to prevent any escape attempt and carried her into dungeons under Canterlot, where she soon was locked up.

Chrysalis was already near Canterlot, waiting for her allies. She soon spotted Tirek running towards their final destination - the Canterlot Castle.

"Here you are!" - Chrysalis exclaimed

"And so you!" - Tirek replied - "How was your fight with this Starlight?" - he asked, quickly realizing he's just rhymed

"It was cakewalk. She almost defeated me by shooting magical blast into mountain and causing avalanche, which fell on me, but I still had enough stamina to unbury myself, stun her and lock her up underneath Canterlot, in a dungeon." - Chrysalis said with pride - "and how was your battle with Pillars of Equestria?"

"It shouldn't be called battle - it was some beatings for these bloody Pillars. They weren't even trying to stop me" - Tirek bragged - "Also, that explains why Stalight was there, trapped in greenish cocoon in these dungeons when I got inside to lock Pillars up" - he added

"Now let's roll! We still got Canterlot to demolish and Twilight to beat up!" - Chrysalis commanded and flew to Canterlot

"Wait!" - Tirek shouted, making Chrysalis stop.

"What is it?" - Chrysalis asked, before landing near Tirek

"Where's Cozy Glow? I haven't seen her since we left our hideout? Have you?" - Tirek asked, a bit concerned

"Neither me! Maybe she's already done with those pathetic princesses, their precious student, Twilight Sparkle and her puppets, a.k.a friends"

"Well, only one way to find out" - Tirek said and ran towards Canterlot. Chrysalis flew up and followed him

Minute later, they were already in Canterlot Castle, surrounded by Royal Guards. They wouldn't care about these guards and just headed to the throne room, if they weren't so annoying; flying around them and blocking their way. The villains, enraged by them, started to fight the guards.

Guards weren't a challenge at all to empowered Lord Tirek and Queen Chrysalis. They were getting knocked out with one punch or magic blast.

"Hey, Chrysalis? It's a bit boring, isn't it?" - Tirek said with sly grin.

"Yes, let's have some fun!" - Chrysalis shouted and shot magic blast to one of the towers, causing it to collapse.

"Oh yes, that's beautiful" - Tirek approved the idea of causing damage to Canterlot Castle.

In Canterlot Castle, everypony and Discord was thinking of strategy to fight off Lord Tirek and Queen Chrysalis, and then suddenly they heard door open with a thud.

It were three other royal guards running towards Princesses and their group - two pegasi stallions with golden armours and unicorn mare with black armour. Once they reached the group, pegasus guard shouted

"Tirek and Chrysalis are already in Canterlot and are too powerful! This is emergency!"

Other pegasus guard added - "they are decimating our guards and other protection"

Twilight's ears dropped, eyes widened and her face had an expression of panic. She didn't move and said anything, just stared at the guards.

"Twilight, yer good?" - Applejack asked, tapping her shoulder with left forehoof

But soon she recovered and her panic only increased.

"Well, don't be scared, but..." *gulp* "I don't know what to do in this situation!" - Her voice became more somber - "Our strategy would be good if they didn't come to us, now our plan is useless. It's over now!" - Twilight's eyes get watery and her voice is cracking - "I...I failed - not as a princess, but also as a friend. As a pony after all! And because of that, Equestria will be doomed" - at this point she falls on the floor, put her head facing her crossed forelegs and bursted out crying.

At this moment, everyone in the throne room started feeling down, both from seeing Twilight like that and the fact that they enemies - Lord Tirek and Queen Chrysalis are likely to take over Equestria and ruin it.

Fluttershy approached crying Twilight, picked her up and wrapped her forelegs and wings around her in a hug, trying to console her, with Twilight's right cheek rested on her chest. Her crying lessened to single sniffs and hiccups.

"Shhh, Twilight! Everything will be alright! It's not your fault at all" - Fluttershy soothed. Everyone else just stayed quiet.

"I-I-I might h-have an ide..a" - Cozy Glow stuttered, feeling bad for Twilight. Princesses, that Draconequus and these 3 guards stared at her

"Then say it! Now!" - commanded black-armoured unicorn guard

"I'll pretend I'm still by their side! I can lay down here and claim that it was a trap, got defeated and lost my alicorn form! This way, maybe I'll be able to sabotage them!" - Cozy capsulized her strategy

Everyone was sceptic. Will she really keep fighting by their side or rejoin the villains?

"I guess it's worth trying." - Princess Celestria said kindly and then added "You better don't let us down!"

"I won't! I promise!" - Cozy said, while trotting near throne room doors, laying on the floor and disheveling her curls to look more convincing when she'll say she was defeated.

"Pretty smart..." - Twilight whispered, still being in Fluttershy's embrace. She heard it and couldn't help smiling.

Soon after that, huge beam of magic blasted from the wall behind Twilight's throne, turning it into tiny particles just to reveal the remaining two villains.

Tirek was first to notice lying Cozy Glow, with her disheveled mane and her eyes closed.

"Chrysalis look! Over there!" - he pointed to lying filly

Chrysalis gasped and yelled - "What did you do to her?!"

"I told them that you're all incoming" - Discord answered - "so, we set an ambush for you all, but apparently you can't work together. And you even left one of your allies on her own" - he smirked

"Oh shut it!" - Chrysalis snarled, giving Discord extreme glare.

"We are wasting time. Don't you remember what we are here for?" - Tirek reprimanded her - "You're ready?"

"Let's do some redecoration" - She said with evil grin.

With that being said, Tirek and Chrysalis were charging their magic for powerful blast. Princess Celestria and Luna quickly realised what they were up to and created magical shield to protect their group.

*BLAST*

Bigger part of the Castle was gone and fell from the mountain down to Ponyville.

"Oh no!" - Twilight yelped and gently wiggled to make Fluttershy release her from embrace, what she did. Then, Twilight looked around in shock.

"Oh, but we aren't done yet" - Chrysalis claimed in evil tone.

Then, they both charged another blast, but this time at Twilight and her group. Princesses shield was handling this attack very well at the beginning, but then it began to crack under the force of the beam.

The shield vanished right away and all the group was blasted with it.

Everyone inside this shield was quickly stunned and all of them, who were able to cast spells and get out of there, were too weak to use their magic. They were all lying unconscious on the floor.

Lord Tirek was the one to approach them with smirk - "You really thought you could win against us"

"Silly ponies..." - she added then turned to Tirek - "give me that bell"

"What? Why?" - he asked

"Since Cozy is too irresponsible to use the power in this bell, I might be able to use it correctly" - she explained

"Well...if you think so" - he agreed reluctantly, because he wanted all this magic.

Then, she used a spell for releaving power on Chrysalis before saying "enjoy".

Chrysalis was surrounded with energy zaps and glowing. Soon she got out from this shock caused by magic passing to her and noticed, that except the crown and shoes, now she was wearing full greenish armour, which meant she was even more powerful.

"I am pleased with this" - Chrysalis said, clearly enjoying increase of her power, then pointed at them with contempt - "What do we do with them"

"The best idea is just to lock them up underneath the Canterlot, in this dungeon. No pony, or other creature will be able to hear them. Even more - there are pieces of your throne, so they won't be able to use their magic" - Tirek suggested

"This is the best we can do" - Chrysalis appreciated his idea - "just one thing, for safety of course"

Then she wrapped their enemies in the same goo she used on Starlight Glimmer

"Nice work. They won't escape now" - Tirek praised her for this idea

Chrysalis then told Tirek - "But you'll have to carry them. I will carry Cozy and scold her when she becomes conscious"

"No problem" - he quickly answered, nodding his head and lifting them all in one-piece jelly-like goo.

Chapter 3: Proven reformable

Underneath Canterlot deep caves, Lord Tirek and Queen Chrysalis were looking for perfect place to place Twilight's group. They decided to lock them up in another chamber of the cave to prevent them from interacting with Starlight or Pillars of Equestria.

Tirek places this goo with all of them and places it on the ground.

"Here is the good spot to leave them" - he said

"What makes you think so?" - Chrysalis asked a bit unsure

Tirek took deep breath and started explaining

"Because they are away from others we caught before! We just need to separate these ponies and Discord from themselves and put them in cells separately." - then he pointed at this group: some of them began to be aware of what's happening.

"Now this is pretty clear. And what will we do with Cozy Glow? She failed after all..." - Chrysalis glanced at mentioned filly

"You know it wasn't my fault!" - she said angrily with high-pitched tone, looking like throwing a tantrum - "It was a trap, I couldn't predict that!"

"Oh please" - she huffed - "You had Bewitching Bell, I'm sure you could've easily defeated them!"

"But...why didn't you all come with me? Why didn't you support me and just flew to fight headmare Starlight?!" - Cozy asked furiously

"Wha...I just want...you know...she-starlight...I'm no longer a queen because of...um...her" - Chrysalis stuttered, but the words were failing her. After a while she mumbled an apology, which sounded like "s*muhm*rhy"

"I take that as a 'sorry'" - Cozy replied with small smirk, making Chrysalis give her short glare.

Tirek shot shots magic blasts to make cells in the walls, while Chrysalis used her magic to separate ponies and Discord trapped in goo.

Then Tirek put each one in different cell and chained Discord in his own. Finally, Chrysalis created more goo and used them as a bars to lock them up in their cells.

"Ah yes, most powerful ponies and that Discord are at our mercy. No one can stop us now!" - Tirek exclaimed, stretching his arms

"Indeed. Equestria is ours now!" - Chrysalis confirmed

"Not really! You forgot about someone" - Cozy amended

"Huh? About whom?" - Chrysalis curiously asked, glancing at pegasus filly and quickly moving her vision on Tirek

"Don't you remember? Princess Cadence? Or Shining Armor? Did you know they have alicorn foal named Flurry Heart?" - Cozy said

Chrysalis gasped, quickly recalling the time when she pretended to be Cadence at her wedding.

"Oh. You're totally right! We're heading north, Tirek! There are still some powerful ponies opposing us!"

"What about me? What do I have to do?" - Cozy frowned

"You?! You can't even defeat weak ponies with powerful artifact!" - Chrysalis glared at her

"But I can look after them! I can't fail that easy task, can I? - Cozy frowned

"Fine. You'll guard this place. Tirek, it's time to go!"

With that being said, they all went to cave's only exit to face Princess Cadence. Tirek and Chrysalis then headed to Crystal Empire and Cozy Glow farewelled them with left forehoof waving and her innocent-looking, adorable smile.

"Okay, I don't have much time" - she thought - "but I can free them, at least some of them"

Then, she flew to first chamber, where Starlight Glimmer and Pillars of Equestria were locked up.

She tries to think, who to free to help her free the others.

"Let's see" - she whispered - "Hmm. The best option is Starlight - she is wrapped in this disgusting goo, but it's not that thick to remove it from her."

Cozy Glow flew up to the cage mounted on ceiling.

There she was: wrapped in greenish goo, gagged with some cloth and had even more goo on her horn to prevent her from casting spells to free herself.

Starlight was just staring at Cozy Glow with true fear in her eyes. Cozy just smiled at her while approaching the mare.

"Don't worry! I'm here to free you. Just trust me." - she tried to convince Starlight to keep calm

Then, she opened the cage, put her hooves on Starlight's horn and started removing the goo from her horn.

It was off the horn after three minutes. Cozy then asked Starlight to cast a spell, but not to attack her, yet this wasn't possible. The filly was wondering what could go wrong. Then she remembered that shattered pieces of Chrysalis' throne spread across the cave were blocking her magic. She still could use it if one of throne piece wasn't on her cage.

"Oh, there's still something preventing you from casting a spell" - she realised what went wrong with a bit of embarassment.

Cozy Glow landed to pick some rock up. After that, she flew back to Starlight and started furiously slamming the rock on the throne piece. It soon cracked and fell down. Starlight was now able to use her magic.

"Okay, do you need my help getting you out of it?" - Cozy gently proposed, but Starlight shook her head and freed herself with magic from this goo and removed a gag.

Now, free Starlight Glimmer, stared confused at Cozy Glow, the same pony who trapped her in magical orb in catacombs underneath the School of Friendship.

"Here you go" - Cozy said timidly with small smile adoring her muzzle.

"Thank you, Cozy, but why did you free me?" - Starlight asked curiously

Cozy replied:

"Well - I feel bad for trying to steal magic from Equestria. Now I will fight by the side of Princesses if it's needed to prove I want to change. And sorry for imprisoning you in that magic orb in catacombs"

Starlight was standing still, processing what she has just said. After a while, Cozy Glow felt foreleg going across her back. Before she could react, Starlight was holding her.

"Cozy, this is wonderful that you want to turn over a new leaf. And I forgive you pushing me to this magic orb" - she whispered to her ear.

"I'm glad you forgive me, but we must hurry up and free others before Tirek and Chrysalis are back!" - she exclaimed and wiggled to get out of Starlight's embrace.

"No worries, I got this" - Starlight said and her horn started glowing

"What are y..." - Cozy wanted to ask, but before she could finish her question, a powerful wave of light-blue magic spread across the chamber, freeing the Pillars of Equestria. The spell used up all her stamina and made Starlight dizzy.
The Pillars approached the two ponies.

"Well, well, well..." - Starswirl the Bearded said calmly with gentle smile - "looks like you want to be good once again, little one"

"I do! I promise I won't let you down and prove I can be rede..." - Cozy again couldn't finish, because a hoof covered her mouth and all she could do after that was a little "mphf..." sound

"We get it" - spoke the voice of this mouth-covering hoof's owner - Somnambula - "I am the element of Hope, and I do have a hope that you will be on our side no matter what"

Somnambula removed her hoof from Cozy's mouth and put it on her mane, flattening this filly's curls. Then Cozy asked.

"So, you all forgive me for draining magic and causing harm to you too?" Six Pillars nodded and Cozy smile widened.

"But we have to help the Princesses, Twilight and her friends. They are also locked up here" - she added

"Sure thing. Lead the way." - Flash Magnus said with eager.

After a while, this group got to another chamber in the cave and saw Twilight and her allies, all trapped in Chrysalis' goo.

"Cozy! You did it!" - Twilight exclaimed with wide smile - "you didn't let us down"

Cozy Glow, happy with seeing Twilight in good mood again, told Starlight to free them. She didn't have to ask her twice - another powerful wave of magic was released and the goo disappeared. Then, Twilight and her crew, Princesses and Discord approached them. They all stopped, except Princess Celestia, who was walking further and stood in front of Cozy Glow.

"Now I see you were telling the truth - you want to change, and I, with Princess Luna, Twilight and her friends will be with you if you need our help or guidance. I'm sure Pillars are also willing to show you the right path"

"You will? Even after all I've done? I'm evil and you still want to help me? I just don't think I deserve another chance" - she asked in voice full of grief and regret. Filly's eyes were filling with tears once again, so she looked away from her.

Princess Celestia reached both her hooves to Cozy, gently put each one them on Cozy's face and slowly moved her head. Cozy resisted, but quickly loosened and let the Princess move her head. Soon, she faced Celestia's kind and soothing gaze.

"No Cozy, listen - you were evil, but that's in the past, now you want to change and be good, right? If you were still evil, you wouldn't give Twilight that bell or betray Tirek and Chrysalis and decide to free us all, would you? Or would you feel remorseful for your past actions?"

"I-I wuhdn'th. Muaybeh yuh're rwight"* - Cozy mumbled somewhat audible, because squishing her cheeks made her words distorted.

Then Celestia let Cozy go and ordered everypony and Discord to leave the cave and prepare for the attack. Cozy led them all to the exit and went with them.

Lord Tirek and Chrysalis came back with bound Princess Cadence, Shining Armor and their daughter - Flurry Heart.

"Cozy, we're back!" - Chrysalis shouted but there was no reply

Chrysalis then entered first chamber and gasped in disbelief - their captives: Starlight Glimmer and Pillars of Equestria were gone! She quickly flew to another chamber and saw the same - no ponies!

"Where is everyone?!" - Chrysalis screamed in anger and panic.

"AND where's Cozy Glow?" - Tirek asked and quickly realised another thing - Cozy tricked them to go to Crystal Empire to be on her own in caves to free them.

"She betrayed us!!! Now, Princesses, Twilight with her squad, Pillars and Discord are on the loose" - Tirek was peeved - "Oh - she will regret it..."

"Let's leave this trio from the North here and go find them!" - he added

"I'll ignore my plan to take my revenge on Starlight for all eternity - Cozy is now my target!" - Chrysalis said with true anger in her voice.

"Let's stop wasting time and go! Maybe it's not too late to stop them!" - Tirek ordered

Both villains left the cave to find them.

Chapter 4: Big trouble

So, I had to fill this chapter with their breaking into Twilight's Castle to make the story more built up - especially with bringing back more characters for the battle.
I intended to describe only Windigos spawning and bringing back more villains, but the story went more further.

This might be the most boring chapter, but I promise, next one will be more exciting

Chapter 4: Big trouble

Both protagonists and villains had another problem to face.

Because Chrysalis was gossiping everywhere in different disguises, causing discords and emnity between earth ponies, unicorns and pegasi, as well as other non-pony creatures with Tirek helping her by destroying crops and making even more mess to make ponies believe it's specific pony type's fault, a mythical creatures have been summoned - Windigos. The same creatures mentioned each year during Heart's Warming Eve, who nearly made Equestria icy, lifeless desert.

"Are these...Windigos?" - Chrysalis asked surprised, staring at white, glowing dragon-shaped creatures flying in circle - "I didn't know they were real"

"Looks like they are and it only confirms our plan to set ponies at variance was successful" - Tirek exclaimed with evil grin

"So, if Windigos have been summoned, that means there is a lot of emnity between creatures. We are still strong, even when Twilight and the others are free" - he confirmed.

"They must be hiding in Ponyville's castle of friendship, let's get there!" - Chrysalis commanded

Soon after, Tirek and Chrysalis were standing in front of the Ponyville's castle

"Let's get in, shall we?" - Chrysalis said

"Let's go!" - Tirek replied and punched doors at the main entrance of the castle to break in, making them break out of hinges.

Chrysalis got inside first and Tirek followed her. Unfortunately for him, his size made it impossible for him to enter. He tried to wreck the wall to enter, but no avail.

"Chrysalis, you have to check here alone. I'm too large, but I can keep guard here" - he said

Chrysalis growled and sighed, not happy with having to check this place by herself. But she realised one thing - she had so much power, that she can use a spell to scan the entire place.

"Wait, I can scan this place to look for other living creatures" - she said, but there was another flaw - "all I need is that book we used on Discord to take his magic."

"UGH!" - Tirek sighed - "We have to go back to our hideout for it"

"Alright. Let's get this done" - Chrysalis said while flying out the castle and heading to Grogar's Lair

They got to their hideout 5 minutes later. Chrysalis got inside and grabbed the book with her magic.

"I have the book, now let's find the right spell..." - she thought, gasping at the mark of ripped off pages, where the spells for Bewitching Bell were.

"Wait! Something is not right..." - she exclaimed as she flew out the lair

"What is it Chrysalis?" - he asked, wondering what went wrong this time

"Some pages are missing. Two sheets were ripped off this book and it seems they were spells to activate Grogar's Bell" - Chrysalis explained

"You see, Chrysalis" - he began - "It was Cozy Glow - she had trouble casting the spell wihtout looking at the book, so I let her get the pages from book" - Tirek explained what happened to this book

"So she has sheets of paper, but we have an actual item - they were fools to not hide it" - Chrysalis said, but gasped when she realised one thing - "I don't remember this spell. What about you, Tirek?"

"No. I also was looking at the book when I cast the spell for empowering us" - he replied, but another vicious plan came to his mind and added - "Well - plan B"

"What do you mean? What 'plan B'"? - she asked, wondering what Tirek is up to.

"Give me that book!" - he took it from Chrysalis' magic grip - "It must be somewhere...maybe here..." - he muttered to himself

"Tirek, what are you..." - Chrysalis asked a bit annoyed, but Tirek cut her off, putting his palm near Chrysalis muzzle

"Shhhh! I'm looking for one thing...YES! There it is" - he shouted

"What? What did you find?" - she asked startled

"Let me explain you my 'plan B' - I will open the Limbo and get out Pony of Shadows and other creatures like that and bring back King Sombra" - he told

"Well...we don't have any better option, do we? I mean, King Sombra wanted to fight alone, and I doubt he'd do it this time" - Chrysalis was a bit unsure

"We have to do it" - he replied. Chrysalis just nodded.

"Are you sure you know what you are doing?" - Chrysalis was a bit concerned

"I am" - he reassured - "we have enough power to open the portal to underworld to get King Sombra back and open Limbo - there also must be some creatures except Pony of Shadows that will help us"

After that being said, Tirek and Chrysalis used their magic and cumulated it in one spot in the air. Then Tirek shot magical blast to floating orb as a final step.
This caused the Limbo to open once again and let Pony of Shadows get out of there. Without his host - Stygian - his power was significantly weaker than before being banished to Limbo because he lost his host. Therefore, he was a size of average pony.
Also another creatures fleed the Limbo. These were 3 dragon-like individuals called Sirens. They were able of singing special song that drives ponies insane.

The rescued creatures hit the ground with a thud. First one to notice Tirek and Chrysalis was Pony of Shadows.

"Who...are you?" - he asked with voice that suggested he is weakened

"I'm Lord Tirek" - he introduced himself and soon his companion - "and this is Queen Chrysalis".

"We will need you to fight by out side with Twilight and her allies" - Chrysalis explained what they are up to

"I'm in! They made me weak and banished me to Limbo. I will show them who I am!" - he exclaimed

"And so we are" - spoke bluish Siren, making Pony of Shadows, Tirek and Chrysalis a little surprised, since they didn't know Sirens were able to talk.

Now it was the time to bring back King Sombra. Tirek knew how to cast a spell like that. He did exactly the same what "Grogar" did, when he respawned him the day he gathered the most dangerous villains from Equestria.
So he grabbed a stick, casted a spell on it to give it proper ability, the draw a cirkle with border of special pattern on the ground, then put the horizonal line* in the middle of it and finally drew "M" letter in it, hoping that this spell will work and respawn King Sombra, since this spell used most of his magic durability.
It worked - a black crystal appeared on the circle's middle and released dark and dense smoke. Soon, he was summoned - King Sombra, who was dumbfounded - is he still alive despite the fact he got wiped out? Wasn't he defeated by Twilight and her friends at Crystal Empire Castle?

"You again?" - King Sombra asked confused, pointing his forehoof at them

"Yes, but this time you must work with us to finally get rid of Twilight Sparkle!" - Chrysalis commanded, remembering his failure

"Ugh. Fine. Seems I don't have any option. But where's Grogar?" - he replied.

"It wasn't real Grogar. It was Discord in disguise" - Chrysalis amended

"Alright! Now, since we must work together to defeat the most powerful ponies and this Draconequus, we need a plan how to strike!" - Tirek said, trying to make every creature focus on their main goal.

30 minutes later, the expanded squad of villains were done making the plan. What's more interesting, King Sombra had many smart ideas how and where to strike.

"Okay, so everyone knows what each one has to do?" - Chrysalis asked. Everyone nodded and Sirens confirmed by saying "yeah" in unison.

"Let's get this done already, okay?" - Pony of Shadows exclaimed

"Wait!" - Tirek shouted - "just one more thing before we go to battleground..." - Tirek said when red orb of magic appeared between his horns.

"Wait, what are you going to do, Tirek?" - King Sombra asked

"You need more power to face Twilight and her allies" - he replies - "so, I will give you some magic taken from Pillars"

After that, he released some magic streams and shot them to King Sombra, Pony of Shadows and Sirens. They all felt sudden power increase, making Pony of Shadows go back to his original size and Sombra to be able to cast spells.

"Alright, let's go! We have Equestria to conquer!" - Chrysalis commanded and the group left their hideout to fight main protectors of Equestria.

Chapter 5: Final Showdown

Chapter 6: The beginning of a new era

Month after the Ultimate Battle for the fate of Equestria

The most epic battle in the history - not just Equestrian, but world's history too, was over, but it began even more epic thing. Kingdoms of different creatures were more united and close than never before. That was truly beautiful thing to see - creatures that didn't care about differences and just enjoyed being together with those they like - their species wasn't the matter at all compared to the power of their friendships.

The Canterlot Castle reconstruction was almost over and almost everyone admitted it - the castle looked even more magnificent in its rebuilt form. That would make Twilight's coronation as a new ruler of Equestria even better!

Twilight was with some of her friends - Spike, Starlight and Rarity in Ponyville's Castle, preparing for her coronation (Fluttershy was training the animals for the show, Rainbow Dash was training with Wonderbolts, Applejack with her family took care of catering for the ceremony, meanwhile Pinkie Pie was getting fireworks ready and helping Applejack get the food ready).
She had a lot to do - pack her stuff since she was moving to Canterlot, organise other stuff and help her friends - mainly Rarity, because she needed a dress for the ceremony.

She was currently having a break from all the work and was talking with Starlight on the hallway.

"Twilight, believe me or not - but despite the fact this all was a month ago, I still have shivers from all that happened - my fight with Chrysalis, Cozy breaking us out from the cave..." - Starlight began, but quickly stopped - "you know what I'm talking about"

"I know, and I'm sure you're still affected by the battle's adrenaline. But the thing I'll remember the most was Cozy Glow's sudden reformation. Would you expect her to change her mind and join us in the battle? Or risking her life to save me and Fluttershy from this magic blast of King Sombra?" - Twilight said, looking deep at Starlight's eyes.

"I definately would not" - she replied with gentle smile - "besides, do you know what's up with Cozy?"

"The doctor said yesterday that she's fine and can leave the hospital soon!" - Twilight was happy

Suddenly, both mares heard knocking on the door

"Who can it be? Derpy delivers the mail to our school. And it's too late for the delivery" - Starlight was curious with sudden knocking.

"Let's see" - said Twilight before using her magic to open the door. Doorknob glowed purple and revealed their guest. It was Cozy Glow, with some bandages and scars on her body. She also had a bandage patch on her left eye.

"Cozy! What a surprise!" - Twilight said with wide smile on her face - "What are you waiting for? Come in!" - she invited

Starlight and Twilight ushered Cozy Glow inside. Then she slowly trotted hobbling, because of injuries she received during the battle. She was also greeted by Rarity, who was passing by the hallway.

"What brings you here" - Starlight asked, gazing with gentle smile at the filly

"Well, I just need an advise" - she started - "You see - I want to make amends with some 6 students of the School of Friendship I've hurt the most. I mean Yona, Gallus, Silverstream, Ocellus, Smolder and Sandbar. But I don't think they will want to see me." - Cozy described her issue

There was a moment of awkward silence.

"You see Cozy..." - Twilight said - "I kind of expected you to do so, therefore I informed them that you might confront them."

"And how did they react?" - Cozy Glow asked, full of curiosity - "they weren't happy at all, were they?"

"Actually no" - Starlight denied - "just the opposite. In fact they weren't willing to hear about it at all, but when I and Twilight told them about your sudden change of mind, joining us, then freeing me, Twilight, the princesses and pillars from Canterlot caves and when you risked your life to save Twilight and Fluttershy from that blast during the ultimate battle, they were astonished. They couldn't believe what they just heard and thought we were talking about another 'Cozy Glow'." - she giggled at the last words about their thoughts

"And...what was next?" - Cozy seemed to be calmer with that

Twilight went closer to the filly and said - "They were very eager to confront you. Believe it or not, but the first one to believe in your reformation was Smolder"

"So I can go to your school and apologize them Twilight, right?" - Cozy said

"Why don't we get there now? The school is still open, and even more they, except Sandbar, have their own dormitories, so they aren't going anywhere far away" - Twilight shared her idea of getting this done quickly, since tomorrow it's her coronation and the school is closed - "and by the way, it's of course my school, but also Starlight's - she's the new headmare, because I'm moving to Canterlot"

"Yeah, but I think I will make Sunburst a headstallion, so he can assist me. Of course I have Trixie to help me, but it's better to have one more pony to help." - Starlight said - "After all of this, I'm sure we will have more students next year" - she added with friendly smile.

"Okay, so we can go now" - Cozy proposed

"Sure, I will just inform Rarity that we are going. It shouldn't take us much time" - Twilight said and flew to Rarity

A few moments later, they both got to the School of Friendship and walked through the hallways. Cozy expected other students who were there to shoot daggers at her and say hateful things towards and about the filly, instead most of them were gazing at her with small smiles, some even greeted her.

Twilight must've told them about how I saved her and Fluttershy. So far, so good - she thought

Cozy and Twilight were inside the headmare office some time later.

"Wait here while I go to get here these 6 students, okay?" - Twilight asked when her wings were spread wide

"Okay, I'll just sit here" - she replied, sitting at the couch.

"Feel free to take some books, if you get bored" - Twilight pointed the bookshelf and Cozy nodded.

Three minutes later, office doors opened and this group of six students and close friends entered the room, then Twilight got inside and closed the door.

"Hi!" - Cozy said with awkward grin on her face, closing the book she was reading.

"Again-good pegasus back!" - Yona exclaimed with joy

"There's something important I should tell you" - Cozy's expression turned into serious frown - "you see, I feel awful for trying to get rid of all magic in Equestria and even more awful because I tricked everyone, especially you, who trusted me the most. I'm sorry for that all - I really am. I don't expect your forgiveness, let alone your friendship, but I had to tell you that"

Then, she looked down, remembering all the stuff she did.

Suddenly, she heard Gallus saying - "it's okay Cozy, I forgive you, and I'm sure my friends also do, right?" - the others nodded

"You do? Really?" - Cozy asked, her smile widening

"Cozy, look..." - he began - "You changed your mind and joined Twilight and Princesses to fight FOR Equestria, instead of fighting IT. Then, you freed them and the Pillars of Equestia from these caves underneath Canterlot. And finally - you almost died from that blast when you pushed Twilight to prevent her being hit. I think that's what I would call proving yourself worthy a second chance"

Cozy Glow's eyes got watery and tears began to flow through her cheeks - she was so moved with that.

"Thank you. I appreciate it." - Cozy said, wiping her tears with her left forehoof

"This is just amazing! You'll see Cozy - friendship is powerful magic, but this magic, like any other needs to be used responsibly. Otherwise, it can lead to a disaster" - Ocellus said with smile

"Glad to have you again on the good side" - Smolder said and put her right arm around Cozy

"Ow!" - she yelped

"What's wrong, Cozy" - Smolder asked startled

"I have painful burn there, so be careful" - Cozy explained

"Sorry for that - my bad" - Smolder said

After returning to the Ponyville's castle, Twilight was fitting the dress Rarity made for her coronation. Cozy Glow looked at it and said.

"This dress is absolutely awesome! Rarity - you're surely the best dress designer in the world" - she exclaimed, making Rarity blush pink.

"Ah shucks! It's nothing" - Rarity denied, still flushed, just a bit stronger.

"Don't be so modest. This dress is gorgeous. I knew you'd know the best what I'll need for such a ceremony" - Twilight confirmed, making Rarity blush even more - her cheeks were now crimson.

"I'm going to use special thread made from Star Spider's glowing cobweb. With it, your dress will glow during the ceremony. It won't last long though." - Rarity shared her idea of making a dress even better

"Oh Twilight, I almost forgot" - Cozy said - "Is it ok if I go to your coronation like this" - she asked pointing her bandages.

Twilight thought about it, putting her right forehoof on her cheek and finally answered

"It shouldn't be the problem with going with all these bandages and scars" - she reassured - "everyone knows about your heroic act and I'm sure they would be even glad to meet the filly, who saved their new ruler"

"Okay. So I better get ready. The ceremony's tommorow" - Cozy said and flew off. Twilight and Rarity were staring at her with small smile.

"Her future is going to be delightful" - Rarity said with smile.

Epilogue

30 years after the Twilight Sparkle's coronation, Cozy Glow's POV

Thirty years - that's how long Equestria's been ruled by Twilight and her friends. Everyone has to admit it at some point - Princess Celestia and Luna couldn't choose better candidate for their successor than Twilight - she is excellent ruler and her decisions and lessons of friendship she shared with other creatures have made this place wonderful.
No doubt she is just adored by everyone. She is now the size of Celestia, maybe a bit taller. Her mane is flowing just like Celestia's. Also, Twilight is teaching at Celestia's school for gifted unicorns.

Ponies and other creatures trust me once again when interacting with me. I could continue learning at the School of Friendship and graduated with one of the highest score in the school's history.
Now I'm adult Cozy Glow. I still have my mane formed in curls and have white bow in them, just the same I had when I was a filly. It's some kind of my special appearance. My left eye is fine, and it's good, because I was scared I'll be blind on this eye.
I currently work at this school as a teacher and guidance counselor - I listen to other student's problems and guide them to solve them. My manipulative skills are now used in wholesome things - for motivation. That's why I was perfect for this job.

But back to Twilight - she couldn't rule on her own, let alone don't have any contact with her friends since she moved to Canterlot. Therefore she created the Council of Friendship.

I was also added on a special list - this list has names of everyone except Twilight and her closest friends, who are allowed to participate in the Council's meetings.
These special guests are of course Starlight, retired Princesses, her former, six remarkable students and other creatures she found her allies and friends, including not just her six former, remarkable students, but also leaders of different species like changelings (Thorax), Tempest Shadow, even Chancellor Neighsay is welcome there.

Also, the Young Six, that's how they're called, and two other ponies - pegasus colt and unicorn filly got rewarded for convincing their kind (and for Sandbar and these two other ponies - their pony kind) to fight for Equestria. They all got honorary title for bringing creatures together. This reward was not just honorary title, but also golden medal with engraved inscription - "For great service for Equestria and bringing creatures together". I can only imagine how proud their parents were.

There was another big surprise just after Twilight Sparkle's coronation. DJ P0N-3 - unicorn mare with blue mane, ivory fur and sunglasses - the most recognizable DJ in Equestria, occured to be able to speak!
Despite the fact we didn't talk to each other for long - she only greeted me and asked if I wanted to go to after-coronation party - I remember her voice very well: it was raspy; not as raspy as Rainbow Dash's voice though.

This particular day was just wonderful.

The weather was simply wonderful - it was warm evening - not too cold, yet not too warm - simply perfect. Clear sky only revealed the true beauty of setting Sun - it was in shades of red, orange and yellow, and the rest of the sky was in shade of pink and magenta.

I'm currently on the balcony at the Canterlot Castle. I could see creatures of all kinds spending time together, all smiling.
It was truly the most beautiful thing to watch - seeing the harmony between them, the peace and undeniable joy in all of the single creature.

How could I ever be evil, let alone want to destroy such a beautiful thing? Why in Equestria would I want to use friendship as a weapon? I'll never get to know.
And what would happen if I were on Tirek and Chrysalis' side? I wouldn't be able to praise the true power of this special and wonderful bond between creatures, known as friendship - I would be still frozen in stone, just like Tirek, Chrysalis, King Sombra, Pony of Shadows and three Sirens.
Speaking of petrification punishment - Discord would also be sentenced for the eternity in stone, but thanks to Fluttershy, Twilight was more gracious and gave him only 25 years to spend as a stone. Once he was free, he didn't cause much trouble - I think it's mostly because he missed Fluttershy.

My thoughts were interrupted by Twilight, saying in very calm and soothing voice

"Hi Cozy! What are you doing?" - she said

"Nothing - just watching all the creatures living together in harmony and admiring it. It's so peaceful here" - a tear appeared in my eye

"Yes, it is peaceful, like in all the Equestria, if not the world. Thanks to friendship." - she explained and I just nodded. She noticed the frown on my face.

"Cozy? It looks like something else is on your mind. Do you want to talk about it?" - she asked

"You see..." - I began - "I had a flashbacks from my past - 30 years ago, and I can't believe I was so evil and megalomaniac filly. Now I see the real power of friendship - you, Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo introduced me to friendship and showed me a part of it, but I had to discover the rest of this wonderful thing on my own, because no one will do that for me"

Twilight gasped and put her right wing around me and said:

"Cozy, this is amazing thought. It definately should be written somewhere" - she said with genuine smile and continued - "I came to you for one more reason. My top student doesn't understand the friendship and seems she doesn't want to. Could you do me a favor and convince her the friendship is worth an effort. I cound invite her to the meeting of the Council of Friendship, but all my friends are busy and won't be able to be at this month's meeting" - she asked

"Sure. Who is it?" - I asked

"Luster, come in" - Twilight exclaimed, making young unicorn mare open the door and approach us on the balcony. It doesn't seem she is grown-up yet.

So, here she is - Luster Dawn. After Twilight became the ruler of Equestria, Sunburst and Starlight married and soon had a foal. Her coat is in a shade of cerise, darker than Starlight's and has flame-colored mane.

"Hi, Cozy Glow! I've heard a lot about you" - she started

"Hello, Luster!" - I greeted

"Twilight said, that you could give me an advise." - she said

"Sure I can" - I got up on all my fours and walked towards the balcony door, waving my foreleg to make Luster follow me

"Well, friendship is difficult and there's no guarantee it'll last forever, but trust me, it's worth an effort" - I began my speech, trotting inside beside her.

Then I stopped and turned around to meet Twilight's adorable and friendly gaze. I returned the smile and continued talking to Luster and walking deeper inside, leaving Twilight on balcony to give her a while with her thoughts.

I am Cozy Glow, and this is a story of my sudden reformation.
