Many ideas appeared in her mind but those were not possible for her right now 'I should take a trip outside the castle to take some fresh air. I haven't gone out of the castle for a week' Murmured Twilight to herself before she exited the throne room and headed out of the castle Canterlot City was famous for its noisy atmosphere, but something wasn't right, in the corner of the street, there is a crowd as she came to see what happened there. As she passed the crowd eveypony stood aside, a dark creature covered by many holes in her hoofs and hair appeared in her eyes, in front of her was ponies who were laughing at that creature. "Everypony, you shouldn't harm any creatures as long as they don't attack you, so please get back to your home. It's almost dinner time" As everyone obeyed her she turned to the dark creature "Are you ok little one? Do you have any bad injuries?" Asked Twilight as she looked for any signs of its parents "Where are your parents?" "I don't have any dangerous injuries, thank you for asking your highness. As for my mother, she abandoned me because she thinks I was a failure and useless" The dark creature answered the question innocently "Oh, poor little creature. Do you want to live with me in the castle? It has so many rooms so you can stay there if you want" "Really? Thank you so much your highness, but I just fear to be alone and be attacked again". Begged the little creature, as she made puppy eyes "It's ok, you can stay with me in my chamber. Although I wasn't used to the feeling of having another pony in my room it's ok if you want to sleep with me. I will happy to share my bed with you." Twilight happily answered as she curiously studied the creature she talked to "I don't want to be rude but I want to know which species are you" She tried to remember which race it is but she has no idea, this hasn't mentioned in the creature books "Oh, thank you so much, you are too kind and generous, your majesty. And about my species, I'm a changeling and my name is Chrysalis" Said Chrysalis "Wow, I just thought that changelings are an only myth. So which rank are you, little changeling, you look so different from drones" Her answer surprised Twilight, she always thought that changelings were only myth because she hasn't truly seen any of them, only some book mentioned about their species but didn't give very much information "Yes, I am not the drone. I was born on the purpose to rule as the next queen of changelings but I don't have much power like the others" The changeling mood saddened "It's ok, Chrysalis if you want to I'll teach you magic along with my personal students. I'll introduce them to you tomorrow, but now we should head back to the castle, I don't want anypony to worry " As they head back to the castle, the dinner already prepared for them. While Twilight made her way to the table, Chrysalis still looked uncertain, she feared that she wouldn't welcome here "Are you sure I'll be welcome here? Other creatures saw my kind nothing else but a monster, so that is why they attacked me wherever they saw me" "It's ok dear, nopony will ever hurt you as long as you're under my protection. Come here, we should have dinner then I'll show you my room" Sat down to her seat, Twilight started eating but Chrysalis hadn't eaten anything. That got Twilight's attention. 'That was weird, she should be hungry now but she doesn't eat anything. Does she still discomfort?' "Dear, why don't you eat a little, you will have a class with me tomorrow that gonna take much energy" "Oh, I'm sorry I forgot to tell you that my race feed on love, so I'm already full. The princess was happy because she could return to her room after a day with duties but Chrysalis looked hesitant, she was not certain if she should enter the room or leave "Don't worry Chrysalis, as I said before I wouldn't mind if you stay with me. As long as you behave in a good way, we always welcome you here" Chrysalis nodded as she entered the room "This room so big for me. Especially with royalty like me, I don't have much time to spend for myself so feel free to use the furniture in this room" "Thank you so much your majesty, but can I know your name, please? I haven't heard your name" "My name is Twilight Amaura Sparkle, but you can call me Twilight or princess are both ok with me.". Happily declared Twilight "Why did your title is princess, when you can claim yourself queen in this land. Just like a nightmare, those memories had been haunted her everywhere, even in the waking world. Her big sister, Nightmare Moon trapped on the moon and it has been 998 years. She only got 2 more to prepare for the fight. If she lost, there would be war and it would affect Equestria if she didn't act right away. But she wouldn't let that happen, she had waited years and she wouldn't let the past happen again With her sister banished to the Moon, she had been used to the boring of her work, a life without her sister made her wanted to became somepony else but not a princess. She wanted so bad to be a commoner, to be lived, treated, and acted like one. She wanted to back to her childhood, to play and walk around the town with her without being bothered by her subjects, without sat on her throne doing her boring royal duties, which had become her daily 'chores' and end up just like every day else, on the purpose just to saw everyone got their family and her still alone. That was the reason she took two personal students to work with her. They presented four elements in them, she only had to find the worthy two more elements. As years passed, she feared she wouldn't find the last two in time, but in the end, she managed to find the worthy, the newly found changelings had in the two elements she needed. The three of them will be Equestria savior and most important her savoir 'They are going to be great friends' Thought Twilight Next to her was Chrysalis, she snuggled close to her body. Just like them when they were young, Moony would let her snuggle close to her whenever they sleep together. Twilight tried to not wake her but she accidentally moved a little hard when she got out of the bed, her 'little' mistake had woken the changeling. Since Nightmare Moon was banished, and she would be back soon, the trio tried to search deeper and got to know about Elements of Harmony "As the book mentioned, the elements represent the good sides of creatures, which are Honesty, Loyalty, Kindness, Generosity, Laughter, and the final element contains all of those, Magic." Said Celestia to the other two "So if our research is right, that means Nightmare Moon will be back around 2 years. We should warn the princess about this, maybe she will know the element location" Said Luna solemnly "But, we don't know where is the Princess right now, She exited the room a while ago, I just fear she is busy with her work." Said Chrysalis 'We should continue the research, we still have a lot of time. This means we can find more about how the elements work then tell Princess about her return is still a good option' Thought Celestia as she answered "We can tell Princess later, for now, we should get more information on the Elements" As the search was on again, the trio divided to find more books. They worked for hours to search for the history of Equestria, which could contain the information of the Elements. But then, the door opened got their attention. "The princess informed me to tell you all back to your room. It's already night" Talked a guard To their surprise, outside the window, the Moon already hung high in the sky. The ponies and changeling bid each other goodbye then left the library to get back to their room. --------------___________Twilight's personal chamber___________-------------- Chrysalis entered the room only to meet the princess who was waiting for her. She made her way to the bed and climbed up "Princess, where were you when we did our research?" "Oh, that was a secret that I have prepared for you. You will know soon" Chuckled Twilight as she nuzzled the changeling "Really, princess? I'm so excited to see what will your surprise be." The changeling returned the nuzzled "But I have a question, can you answer it for me?" Asked the changeling as she made puppy eyes "Of course" "Do you know about Nightmare Moon and Element of Harmony, we found those in a book that related to friendship. And if we are not wrong, she will be back in two more years" "Yes, I know about Nightmare Moon, I and her are sisters by blood and flesh, we grew up together, shared many things. But until we became princesses, everpony began loving me and fearing my big sister." With the help of Twilight and the two ponies, her magic improved a lot since her first arrived, she could even use powerful spells to attack and protect herself easily. The idea of adopting the changeling seem crazy and could be unacceptable by her ponies, but none of them protested. Since that, the newly crowned changeling princess had tried her best to prove herself worthy. She tried to make friends, helped ponies, and her mother with their works. Her mother already warned her ponies about her sister's return to Canterlot's resident in case of something bad happen to her. Yesterday, Chrysalis got her mother inform about her trip to Ponyville with her friends to find and use the Elements. The princess prepared carefully for her 'trip' which was dangerous. To their research, the Elements located in the old castle inside the Everfree Forest, five elements had turned to stone and the last Element, Magic disappeared long ago. Her mission was to bring the Elements back to defeat the corruption inside the night princess. "Chrysalis, are you ready yet? I want to give you some things for your trip." Said Twilight to her daughter "Yes, mother. I'll go out of the room right now" Answered Chrysalis as she lifted her carriage and exited the room and met her mother "Here, daughter. He couldn't escape himself as Celestia used her magic to lift the tree out and place it in the river. The white unicorn even gave it her food. After finished eating, the little creature seems thankful for her action as it nodded and left. The ponies and changeling continued their trip to the castle as they found a group of unicorns in the forest. They seem feared "Are you ok?" Asked Luna to the ponies "No, we aren't. This forest is so dangerous" Said one of the ponies "It's ok, let me help to cheer you all up" Said Luna as she used her magic to made animals shape "Wow, they look impressive. Can you join our group? We are traveling around Equestria to perform magic" "Sorry, but I can't join you. I still have my work here" "You don't want to be famous? If you go with us, you will get famous, but if you choose them you will never be famous like us. So who will you choose?" So we should work in a team, this may take longer but it still safer for us" The team went around the castle until they found a room that had five stone balls inside "That must be the Elements" Said Chrysalis The group approached the balls only to be pushed back by the purple smoke "Look like somepony and a creature had followed me here. Who are you young creature?" Asked Nightmare Moon "I'm Chrysalis, your sister's adopted daughter" Answered the changeling "Hmm, that was unexpected. But even if you are my niece I'm not going to spare you so easily. How about a little deal, Hmm? If you agree to serve me I'll spare you and your partners' life" "I'll never serve you" Shouted Chrysalis, who prepared her magic and teleported both her and her friends to the Elements "Don't waste your time. The last Element had disappeared a long time ago" "But I know how to bring it back. Magic appeared in the air, turned into the crown as Honesty turned into a necklace. The Elements began to shine once again and a beam of rainbow shot out. It surrounded the Night princess like a tornado, blocked her view. After that, everything went white and the changeling lost her consciousness. Outside the window, the sun began to rise, as light moved into the castle, it dimmed and reveal Twilight Awoke a little while later to find herself laid on the cold stone floor, Twilight approach and helped the changeling and her friends stood up after a strong rainboom took place in the castle. A familiar voice caught their attention, it wasn't filled with venom but regret "Sister, I'm so sorry for letting myself clouded with hatred, even though I told you that I would protect you but I nearly hurt you" Cried Nightmare "Moony, it's ok, I forgive you. Nopony is uncorrupted" The younger princess hugged her elder sister "Thank you, my little star" Said Nightmare, who returned the hug "We should go back to Ponyville now, I think they would be worried sick for me" Chuckled Twilight "I think it's better for me to stay here" Said Nightmare "I don't know if the ponies will forgive me for what I have done" "It's ok sister, I will explain to them if we need to" "Thank you, sister" The ponies and changeling teleported back to the village, the elder sister was surprised by the friendliness of the ponies, which was quite different from the time she used to rule. But thank her daughter and her friends, her Moony was back to her again. They could be just like before, share their memory, take care of each other. Everything was fine since Nightmare Moon return, everypony seems to welcome her back to Equestria, some even came to Twilight's court to ask some questions about the elder Alicorn. The only problem was Nightmare hadn’t forgiven herself for what she had done. Although with the younger sister’s and her daughter’s help, she still couldn’t forgive herself. The elder Princess hated herself because she nearly hurt her sister, who she promised to love and protect with all power, which she felt herself didn’t fulfill the duty as big sister. She regretted that her hasty actions had ruined their relationship, which left a scar on her little sister's heart for over a thousand years. But luckily, she had forgiven her for left her little behind. Instead of avoided her, Twilight wanted to be with her again. The younger sister helped her with all her heart, only to help her adapt to the community and modern daily life. The Sun princess even sent her adopted daughter and her students to accompany her, talking, playing and even studying with her. The young changeling even told her about her daily life with her friends. After a few days, they had become friends, Nightmare had slowly forgiven herself for what she had done and became happier than before. Twilight was happy about that because her free time wasn’t much, her big sister still needed some rest after her return from the Moon, so the works were still her until the elder sister was good enough to back to her duties. The morning in Equestria was usually full of petitioners, but today was different. The sole ruler of Equus had canceled all of her appointments to spend more time with her sister. Passing the long and big hallway of the castle, walked through the Sun side of the castle, Twilight had finally arrived at her sister’s room on the Moon side. Knocked on the door a few times until she heard a voice. “Please come in” Said Nightmare inside the room. “Hi, sister I’m back again” Said Twilight, who opened the door and entered the room only to see her sister laid on her bed reading a book “Today I’m free of duty so I’ll spend time with you, did you enjoyed your time with your niece.?” “How did you free from your duties? There would be a lot without me. And yes, I enjoyed her company, she is such a sweet and innocent child.” “I managed to finish all yesterday so I can spend time with you, of course. At that time I wasn’t thinking clearly and was controlled by my emotions. You can’t blame me, you know what people can do when they are jealous right? You were loved by many ponies while I was feared, they avoided me, hated me. You are supposed to be in the throne room right now.” Asked Chrysalis as she tried to find a reason for her mother's unexpected appearance in the room “I’m really sorry if I disturbed your talking.” The young changeling turned to the door only to be stopped by her mother. “I forgot to tell you, today I decided to spend a day with your aunt. Come here and talk with us, dear.” The changeling nodded. “Ok, mom. what were you and auntie Moon talking about.” “Nothing much, my beloved niece. Just some precious memories we shared” Answered Nightmare to Chrysalis’ question. “Look like just after a week my little daughter had earned my sister love and respect. My sister rarely let anypony get close to her so you know, except me no one can reach her without earning her trust, especially from the start of the first Blood Moon in Equestria. You and your friends were the only ones who earned it this fast exclude me. I hope you three will accompany her for me while I was gone doing the duty.” “Of course, mother. Also, the younger princess wanted her sister to answer the question of ponies by herself, which could help her understand more about the new Equus. With Chrysalis’ help, Twilight successfully hid it from the elder Alicorn, the changeling did a good job to disturb her while she looked for the things her sister liked, usually Night design. The party had decorated perfectly, the only thing she needed was the main character of the show. Informed the young changeling princess to guide the Moon Princess to the party, Twilight quickly told the servants and the guests to prepare for her arrival. A while later, the door opened, stepped into thedarkroomm was a confused Nightmare Moon and widely smiled Chrysalis. The light turned up, everypony cheered at the elder Princess while the younger hugged her. “Surprise! I made it especially for you.” Smiled the purple Alicorn to her sister “The main intention for this party was to let you make more contact with other ponies, and also in the past week since your return, many ponies asked me several questions about you, I wanted you to answer yourself but you weren’t available at the moment so I organize this party. I hope you will enjoy it.” //-------------------------------------------------------// New threats //-------------------------------------------------------// New threats -----------________ 2 weeks after Nightmare Moon's return________----------- The capital of Equestria was once again crowded with many ponies, they were not crowded in the castle but the Gifted Unicorn School, which was the oldest school that still opening nowadays. The school was opened by Princess Twilight for the unicorns to study magic. Although it wasn't the only school located in Canterlot, Gifted Unicorn School was still one of the most attractive schools in this overpopulated city. This Unicorn school wasn't famous because it was founded by the kingdom ruler, but because this place educated many talented unicorns. After graduated, they had done many great things to serve their beloved country and some even became the princess's most trusted advisors. Founded in Harmony Era, going through hundreds of years, the school had changed a lot in appearance. The classes were expanded and built to allowed teachers to educate more unicorns in a class. There were also more areas for the children to learn more about the other topics. The school also put in realistic and library classes for the students to research more. Every year the school opened, it always crowded with many unicorn foals along with their parents, waiting for their test. This school year also had the same rule, many unicorns filly crowded in the hallway, many of them nervously waited for their turns to come. "Number 23, please come in," Said one of the teachers as the door opened, reviewing a unicorn with deep purple fur and gray mane covered by a white line around the edge. "You are Shady Moon, right?" "Yes, it's me, ma'am," said the unicorn politely. "Ok, come here. Your test is hatching this egg." said one of the examiner. "Yes, ma'am" replied Shady, who tried to use her magic. Despite her tries, she was just able to call out some sparks, looking at the teachers' faces, she began feeling nervous. The teachers still looked at her, they seem lost their patient and would mark her fail, an unexpected event happened. A rainbow appeared made her lost control of her magic which became wild and blasted randomly. They hit the examiners and turned them into objects, the room was filled with chaos until a deep black Alicorn teleported into the room and put a hoof on the young unicorn shoulder, and whispered to her. "It's ok, now. Just calm down, everything will be ok" said Nightmare Moon to the unicorn as the magic stopped, turning the ponies back to their original forms. The unicorn slowly landed on the ground and blinked her eyes a few times to see the Moon princess stood in front of her. Looking around the room, she noticed the mess she made in her test, she folded her ears, readying for her fail. But it wasn't like she expected, the princess's words made her surprised. "You did a good job on your test, which had shown your talent on magic. Do you want to be my personal student?" asked the Night princess in a gentle voice. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes" the deep purple unicorn shouted as she jumped around her, which reminded her about the little sister she had. "Ok, may I know your name, please?" asked Nightmare Moon politely. "And can I meet your parents? I want to ask them about their permission for you to stay here." "My name is Shady Moon, and about my parents, they weren't here, I came here myself because they were so busy with their works." "What a wonderful name" Praised Nightmare when she heard the unicorn name " I feel sorry about your family, you can stay here with me if you want, we can spend time with each other, studying about magic and many more." "I accept, Princess" chirped the deep purple unicorn. --------------------_______________ 2 days after the test _______________------------------ The princesses had discussed the newest student, Twilight agreed to give her a room for her own and even gave her permission to access the Canterlot achieve like her other personal students. But unlike them, she didn’t care about the study, instead, the unicorn spent most of her time playing or talking with the ponies in the castle. Due to her sister's words, Shady was lack of family affection, so that was why she let the unicorn did what she wanted as long as it didn’t bother the servants, it was ok because she was adapting to this new environment. The first school day of the year started yesterday and Shady was led into the chosen class, which was prepared for talented unicorns who got good marks while doing the test. The unicorn seems very active and sociable in this whole new class. ‘It’s going to be a good start for her.’ Thought Nightmare Moon when she saw her in astronomy class, which Twilight specially made for her. But it also meant that Twilight’s classes would be lessened than usual, which was a good thing for Twilight after years of either teaching and ruling alone. In the past, there weren’t many ponies interested in her beautiful night sky, but right now, standing around her were many unicorn fillies, asking her many questions. They seem interested in this subject, as they confessed, the fillies were more active at night than in the morning, because that was when they could freely play after school although it didn’t mean that they didn’t enjoy Twilight’s classes. The younger Alicorn was very happy to help them if they had any problem with the new teachers. --------------------_______________ 1 week after the first school day_______________---------------------- Shady had made some friends in the class, and she was happy about it, they created “the astronomy researcher group” for those who wanted to know more about the subject, the unicorns even convinced her to open an extra class after school for everypony going there to watch and study about her night sky. To the Night princess, it was the most wonderful idea for her to show this new kingdom that how beautiful her night was. Although they were Alicorns sisters, their parents were normal ponies. their mother, Magic Mirror, was an average unicorn, and their father, Cloud Mark, a pegasus who worked in the weather team. "Look, she got your eyes, such beautiful eyes." Cried Cloud Mark joyously. "Wow, she is so cute." Chirped Nightmare Moon. "Yes, she is very cute. Cloud, look at her hairline, those looked just like the color of dusk and dawn. I know what name I should give her. Twilight, a beautiful name for a special child. Also, this name has some connection with your cutie mark, daughter." She turned to her first daughter. "Yeah, I think so. She is between night and day. Guess we should get another child and name her SunShine." Joked Cloud as the entire family laughed. ---------------_____________ 2492 years before Nightmare incident in Daiwa Village_____________--------------- The village was small, but the ponies who lived there helped each other whenever they in need. The sisters were playing together in the backyard of their house, Twilight had earned her own cutie mark, which was a big purple star surrounded by five smaller white stars. Their house wasn't big so they have to share the same room to sleep. So there was no private space for them, but that didn't bother them. Blood sisters often shared a strong bond with each other so they wouldn't mind sharing their little secrets. But the peace in their village didn't last long, the civil war started. On that fateful day, the soldiers had gone to their village. Many adults had died protecting the fillies, including their parents. Nightmare was old enough to take care of her little sister, their bonds tightened at the moment they hid together in the wood, careful not to let the enemy found them. After a week of being hunted harshly by the soldiers, they finally escaped. With the pain of loss, they wanted peace more than anything, and their plan began. ---------------_____________2153 years before Nightmare incident _____________--------------- Their plan had succeeded, the revolution stopped the civil war. Nightmare Moon and Twilight had earned the power to control the sun and moon and became the princesses of Equestria. They worked hard to keep the peace between the ponies and also the other creatures. The ponies respected them both because of their work. The sisters, although busy with their work which were different but they still spent time with each other whenever they could. ---------------______________322 years before Nightmare incident _____________--------------- After the blood moon and sun eclipsed sun events, the ponies began to fear the night. They said the blood moon represented death, mostly because of the red-like blood color. And thought Twiligh's sun was something powerful to chase Nighmare's Moon away. This led to the unfair treatment between the two sisters although Twilight had talked a lot to her subject about this topic. ---------------______________2 years before Nightmare incident _____________--------------- The ponies established a cult, which wanted "eternal day". They forced Nightmare to stop raising the moon because they thought she didn't deserve the princess title. The cult also threatened her if she didn't do like they said. The elder princess already asked her sister to convince them but it was useless. The princesses tried to ban them from social activities but that wasn't enough, they kept bothering them. ---------------______________ Nightmare incident -Throne room_____________--------------- Everything had its limit and Nightmare had endured enough. Why her sister always earned the respect, but not her. They always fear her even though she made no harm to them. Her patient was gone, she had to do something to make her subject respect her. Walked out of the empty throne room, she met her little sister, Twilight seems worried for her because she hadn't lowered the moon. "Moony, are you alright? Did the cult bother you again.?" Asked Twilight clearly care in her voice "I have endured enough, sister. Why ponies always love you, although I tried to help them all the things I get are only hatred and fear, while you did nothing to help me.
