//-------------------------------------------------------// My Little Pony: Time Patrol -by Timeman202- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 - First Mission //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 - First Mission Act 1 Start Luster and her friends were looking at a mirror where it looked like the moment when Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Twilight are finishing up the running of the leaves when suddenly a face all too familiar to Luster and her gang was there at the finish line during the point after Rainbow Dash and Appleajack had rerun the race. “Isn’t that Slade? How’d he come back to life?” Luster asked. “If I had to guess, some dark being from a world lead to ruin is responsible.” The Jackle said. “Right. Lola and the others can look for clues on this end. We should focus on taking out Slade. But are you sure I can come?” Cozy Glow asked. “There is much about your necklace you do not know yet. And much about yourself you have not figured out yet. The answers you seek regarding your necklace lie in the events of the past.” The Jackle said. “For now, all I can do is unlock this one power for you, keeper of the Light Necklace.” He added before tapping Cozy’s necklace. Cozy Glow started shifting colors before defaulting back to her original color pallet. “Whoa...trippy.” Cozy Glow said. “I have unlocked a dormant power from within your necklace, one that will allow you to take on whatever colors you wish.” The Jackle said. “Facinating. Let me try changing a few things.” Cozy Glow said and looked in a regular mirror. She concentrated until her mane & tail became a crimson red, her ribbons a sky blue, her eyes a shining blue, and her coat a bright yellow. “I think I look better this way. Better suits the new me.” Cozy Glow said. “Time is of the essence. You must go now.” The Jackle said and the group was suddenly teleported away through time. The group was teleported onto the area ready to face Slade. “So, you decided to track me this far back. Not sure how you did so, but frankly I could care less.” Slade said. “Everyone, get him.” Luster Dawn said. “More mysterious guests...today is one Tartarus of a day...” Princess Celestia. “But these creatures appear to be helping us with our current problem. Eeee! It’s Celestia, Princess Twilight’s Mentor! Such an honor! Luster fangirled. “Don’t worry Princess, me and my friends can handle this mysterious creature, you just focus on getting everyone clear.” She said. “I don’t know why, but I’m inclined to believe your words.” Celestia said. “Princess, Applejck, Rainbow Dash, and myself can help with getting everyone to safety.” Twilight said. “Yeah. I’m sure they can handle this. I mean...they all look capable. Never seen that one wierd bug creature before.” Rainbow Dash said. “You...your Rainbow Dash...” Chitin said. “I am such a huge fan...but now is not the time for chatter.” He added. “Great...someone just had to stroke her ego.” Applejack said. “I mean she’s such an inspiration to me with how your always there for those you care for.” Chitin said. “I like this bug thing.” Rainbow Dash said. Eventually everyone was cleared out. “I’ll be back.” Slade said and vanished. “Phew...our work is done here. We’d love to stay and chat but we must be going.” Luster Dawn said. “Thanks for the assist. I hope we’ll meet again.” Twilight asked. Luster and her friends were transported back to the present time. “You should be thankful that when you are called upon to fix problems like this, the issue of you being there is solved when you fix the problem through the creation of a parallel version of events. You must take care not to cause too many changes with your presence.” The Jackle said. “Otherwise, too much change could result in drastic changes to the original version of events.” He added. “Good to know.” Cozy Glow said. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 - Another Returning Face //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 - Another Returning Face "Why is Lola in here?" Cozy Glow asked. "For some reason I can't quite get a good read on the problem your going to be dealing with. I was hoping Lola could figure out the issue." The Jackle said. "Fixed it." Lola said. Now the viewing portal was fully functional and showed Twilight and her friends returning from the Young Fliers Competition but they encountered a very familiar looking ram. "Wait a second, that's Grogar!" Luster Dawn said. "First Slade gets brought back, and now Grogar returns as well. If I had to guess this is the work of that Black Alicorn again." Kale said. "No doubt about that. Let's do this." Chitin said. The group was teleported through time. As soon as they arrived, Grogar turned his attention to the group. "You lot have shown up just like my mistress told me you would. And now, we battle." Grogar simply said. He was wasting no time it seems. "How is possible that Grogar; the father of all monsters; is real?!" Twilight said. "I mean, he's just a story, or so I thought." she added. "Yeah uh...news flash here: He's real and he is not friendly." Cozy Glow said. The group assisted by Twilight and her friends was able to defeat Grogar. "This is quite interesting...despite our power differences you are still able to defeat me." Grogar said before he was teleported through time. "Thanks so much for your help." Twilight told the group. "Eh...think nothing of it. I have feeling you'll be seeing us another time and another place." Cozy Glow said before Luster's group was teleported back to the present. "You know, Grogar said that his mistress told him we'd come. Who is his mistress?" Molson asked. "I don't know...but I can wager a good guess: That mysterious black Alicorn." Summer Breeze said. "Who is she really? And why did she go and revive both Slade and Grogar for her plans?" Luter Dawn asked. "Namu thinks we'll find out as we continue to foil mysterious lady's plans." Namu said. "Good point Namu. Nothing we can do for now except wait for that black alicorn lady to try and mess up the past again." Cozy Glow said. "Sad as that is to say, that is correct. At least we know who she has employed. Both Slade and Grogar were most likely revived by our mysterious black alicorn mare, and thus they serve her as a result of this." The Jackle said. "I was thinking the same thing." Luster Dawn said. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 - Alicorn of Darkness //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 - Alicorn of Darkness Luster and her group were watching the viewing portal where they see that their mysterious Alicorn mare has triggered another nightmare version of a specific pony, this time targeting Gilda shortly after her true colors were revealed at Pinkie Pie's party. "Wait a second, how can a griffon get taken over by a nightmare? In fact, all that seems to have happened to Gilda is now she even more evil then she was when she first came to ponyville. And I've met the mondern version of her, and she's actually quite nice now." Luster Dawn said. "That makes it all the more presedent that you fix this problem sooner rather then later." The Jackle said. "We're on it!" Cozy Glow said and thus the group was sent back in time once more. Because how mindless Gilda acted being possessed by a nightmare, the group was easily able to defeat the possessed Gilda. However, their victory was short lived by the arrival of Grogar...and the mysterious alicorn mare riding his back. Wait what? "...What's wrong with this picture right now?" Luster Dawn asked. "Everything. Everything is wrong with this picutre." Cozy Glow said. "I see you've defeated another of my nightmares. How interesting." The Alicorn mare said. "Who even are you?" Luster Dawn asked. "Call me Mystique; I am the Alicorn of Darkness. You should be able to understand why I want to mess up your timeline so badly from that information alone now can't you?" The Alicorn said. "You just want to drown everything in darkness, don't you?" Cozy Glow asked. "Sorry, but we aren't about to let you." She activated her necklace's power to activate her Faux Alicorn state. "Wait...that light..." Mystique said but the Grogar interuppted her. "Mistress, I will protect you from this holigans!" Grogar said. With the Faux Alicorn State, defeating Grogar took zero time. "You." Mistique said, pointing a hoof at Cozy Glow. "I have no idea who you are Pegasus, but you somehow have access to a fraction of the power of the legendary Goddess of Light. But rest assured: Your light will only shine so bright before I snuff it out!" Mystique said and teleported herself and Grogar back through the timestream. "Guess we gotta get going too." Cozy Glow said, removing her Faux Alicorn state and returning back to their own time period. "Goddess of light you say? Father never met her." Lola said. "He couldn't of. Of the immortals who were killed by a blast left by the immortal known as Yin-Yang, amongst them was the Goddess of Light. However, I know not who it is that has her powers and is her reincarnated in mortal form. I only know that Cozy Glow's necklace houses a small fraction of the Goddess of Light's full power." The Jackle explained. "So that's it: The reason my necklace has all these strange powers is because it houses power from the Goddess of Light. But isn't too much light just as bad as too much darkness?" Cozy Glow asked. "The Goddess of Light mostly took a backseat in spreading her light. As did the God of Darkness who still lives as an immortal to this day. In fact, the two immortals are actually twin siblings. Most of the time though, both let mortal kind do their own things, but will on occassion, provide mortal kind with but a fraction of their power when the time calls for it. These fractions of power manifest them into necklaces like the one you wear, Cozy Glow." The Jackle explained. "Then between Orabarous and now this Alicorn of Darkness Mystique, the whole reason I was given this necklace is to fight against these more powerful foes who carry too much darkness in their hearts." Cozy Glow stated. "That would be my guess yes. Make no mistake though, I sense greater trials ahead." The Jackle said. "Well then I won't let the Goddess of Light down; I plan on helping my friends defeat Mystique and her two lackeys so that they will leave the time stream alone." Cozy Glow said. She and her friends left. "...I sense a great light beginning to form within that pegasus...if mystique keeps up her attacks like this, then no doubt Cozy Glow's destiny will reveal itself." The Jackle said. "After all, if there is an Alicorn of Darkness and Despair, then there needs to be an Alicorn of Light and Hope." He added. Act 1 Complete Author's Note Even though this is the end of Act 1, the story continues. //-------------------------------------------------------// Interlude 1 - The Dark Time Patrol //-------------------------------------------------------// Interlude 1 - The Dark Time Patrol In a very ruined version of Equestria, the same one Twilight and Starlight once visited, Slade was finishing up sharpening his swords as Mistique and Grogar came up to him. "So, how'd your latest test with your nightmare device go? Can it work on other creatures too?" Slade asked Mistique. "Naturally. But what did you expect from someone who used her dark powers to revive the two of you." Mistique said. "I only have one question: What happens if we successfully altar time itself?" Slade asked. "Well after that, you Slade are free to leave for a different part of the multiverse as promised. I did after all restore your full body to it's state from before that war you took part in." Mistique said. "And I thank you for that." Slade said. "But what are you and Grogar gonna do without me?" He asked. "Whatever we want; with that version of Equestria ending up like this one, Grogar and myself can swoop in and corrupt it into our own image." Mistique said. "Well that's your thing. Me? I'm just gonna go back to my assassin work after this." Slade said. "Well what you do once my goals have been realized is your own business. After all, our deal was for you to help me destroy the past of a specific version of Equestria." Mistique said. "Mistress, I can't help but wonder...what purpose does us messing with time in the way we have have to do with that? That group of creatures who defeated me seems to get in our way each time." Grogar said. "That's simple: By messing with the time stream, we create Dark Energy, which I have been collecting. Once I've collected enough of it, I plan on dropping it far into the past of that version of Equestria which will ultimately destroy it. But there's still not enough energy for that to occur." Mistique said. "Right...of course. Give them hope only to show them how hopeless it really is. I have to admit Mistique, your my kind of gal. If only you weren't so taken with your boy toy." Slade said. "I am not mistress's boy toy! Considering how much of her power she used to restore me to this form it's only natural I would submit to her." Grogar said. "That's right. And if you have a problem with that, I can easily just destroy you again." Mistique said. "Chill would you. I'm just trying to lighten the mood a little." Slade said. "The only thing that'll lighten my mood is getting rid of the prime version of Equestria. Once it falls, all the other versions will fall with it. That is my ultimate goal." Mistique said. "Right. I get it. So I guess this means I'm up to use the Nightmare Machine on a certain changeling yes?" Slade asked. "But of course. Here you go." Mistique said and handed Slade a strange portable cannon device. "This thing is kind of awesome by the way...just one blast and suddenly someone is granted the strangth of an Alicorn." Slade said. "Well I'm gone." He added before he vanished through the time stream. "...Finally we're alone. Now I can stop spotting these lies." Mistique said. "Eh? What lies, Mistress? You mean your not goign for total annhilation of Equestrian Prime?" Grogar asked. "Oh I am, but did you know that if the monsters you created were infused with dark energy gathered by messing with the time stream, they become invincible beasts?" Mistique asked. "At that point, the only way to stop them would be to kill me." She added. "Ah. I see. You plan on making it impossible for them to defend against your plans." Grogar said. "And this is why you are my mistress." Mistique said. "Come now, I wouldn't have had the idea if not for you. And I can't help but picture us as the ruling king and queen of all of Equestria." Mistique said. "You...you honor me, Mistress." Grogar said. "Your loyalty is to be well paid for. But Slade on the other hand well...let's just say that once I no longer have a use for him, his life is forfeit. I don't trust anyone, least of all assassins." Mistique said. "But of course Mistress." Grogar said. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 - Increased Darkness //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 - Increased Darkness Act 2 Start In viewing portal, the Time Patrol group was all looking at a scene where Chrysalis was armored and attacking Celestia during the Canterlot Wedding incident. "Wait a second, Chrysalis wasn't armored during this point in time." Chitin said. "You are correct. Her armored state was brought about because of her being empowered by a nightmare." The Jackle said. "But she's already evil; what reason would Mistique have to make a villian possessed by a nightmare?" Molson asked. "I think I know." Cozy Glow said. "If she's already evil, then the nightmare will increase her strength and thus she will be much stronger then normal." She added. "Cozy Glow is correct. And that's likely why Mistique did it to begin with. Go with caution, even back then, Chrysalis was still a force to be reckon with." The Jackle said. "Yeah. I gotta save my aunt." Cozy Glow said. They were transported to the time period, and that's when they saw Slade there. "SLADE!" Luster Dawn shouted. "It's you folk again. I'd focus on the bigger threat here if I was you." Slade said with a grin. Cozy Glow gritted her teeth and activated her Faux Alicorn state before the group battled the empowered Chrysalis. Once Chrysalis took enough Damage, she was restored back to normal. "What the hell...where did all that power go?" Chrysalis asked. Suddenly Slade jumped into the fray. "If you think your done here, then you have another thing coming. Come at me!" Slade said. And thus the group had their second battle which also didn't take very long. However, that's when Mistique showed up. Suddenly she fired some sort of spell at Chrysalis and suddenly Chrysalis looked like she did at the Battle of the Bell. "WHAT THE?!?" Luster Dawn said before Slade grinned and went back through the time stream with Mistique. "Now Chrysalis is even more powerful! We gotta stop her, NOW!" Cozy Glow said. "I'm not sure how much longer I can hold on here..." Celestia said. "You take a breather Princess; we'll handle this from here." Luster Dawn said. After another long and hard battle, Chrysalis was returned to normal again. "I can still win this!" Chrysalis said and charged forward for a third time. "Gah, and I thought we were done!" Luster Dawn said. "I should help you this time. I won't be held back much longer." Celestia said. "Right. We could use the help Princess." Luster Dawn said. Another long and tedious battle later, and although Chrysalis managed to put Celestia into unconciousness, the rest of the ponies were free to move around allowing the bad changelings to get blasted by the love bomb which Chitin was uneffected by. "I thank you for your services here today. I think it's clear to me that you do not come from this exact point in time." Celestia said. "Yeah. I've been beginning to thing the same thing. Your all from the future, aren't you?" Twilight asked. "Yeah. We sure are. We're just here from the future to make sure that the past remains as we know it." Cozy Glow said. "I see. Well I thank you all the same. If you had not been here, who knows how this would've went down." Celestia said. "Very badly, we'll just say that." Luster Dawn said. "Well we'll see you all at another point in time I suppose." She added before she and her group were sent back to the future by the time stream. "...Celestia, something is bugging you about that pegasus isn't it?" Twilight asked. "Yes. Very much so. I sensed a light filled with harmony and hope growing inside of her. And I could easily see through her color disguise." Celestia said. "I saw through it too. But if she's from the far future, then we'll just let things play out as they should if we discover her before she became who she has become." Twilight said. "You are right, my faithful student. Whatever happens, it shall happen." Celestia said. The group arrived back safely. "Welcome back. Seems your actions have made an impression. Still, this is expected. Thankfully, no changes regarding Cozy Glow's own personal history have been effected." The Jackle said. "I don't know about you all, but I think we should get some rest. We just had four battles in a row; I would like to recharge from all that." Cozy Glow said. "Take the rest. You have earned it. Though I have no idea why Chrysalis was so stubbern back then." The Jackle said. "You should ask her sometime. The mondern version of her is just as stubbern as that after all. It did take her own royal daughter to make her see the light after all." Cozy Glow said and left with her friends. "...I see. And what's more the light continues to grow within the young Cozy Glow. And this scenario really pushed her to her limits." The Jackle said. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: The Start of Something Bigger //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: The Start of Something Bigger Previously, in "My Little Pony: Dawn of Friendship", a bunch of mysterious altars appeared across Equestria. Luster Dawn and her friends decided to investigate one of these towers, namely the one in Ponyville. "Wonder what this is. Lola, did your father ever encounter anything like this before?" Luster Dawn asked. "No. He never described anything like this before." Lola admitted. "But of course he wouldn't know; for these altars have been sleeping for eons." A male voice sounded out. Suddenly, decending from the stairs was some sort of bipedal creature that was black; and not like the skin tone. Instead of a deep dark brown, this creature's skin was a pure black with only yellow body paint and egyption clothing covering his body. In his right hand he had some sort of staff which he kept off the ground as he decended the stairs of the mysterious altar. "Wait a second...that's..." Lola said. "Greetings Lola...I see you've already made some friends here in this world. Good. Your father will be most pleased when he hears about this." The mysterious creature said. His hands and feet were paws, and his face was like that of a canine or more specifically, a vulpine canine. "You...your..." Lola said. "There is no reason to be alarmed; I am simply here on behalf of your father." The mysterious creature said. "Since when were you on good terms with my father?" Lola asked. "I guess he didn't tell you about something that happened the month before you were born. I suppose I'll have to fill you in later then." The mysterious creature said. "Who are you?" Cozy Glow asked. "I am afraid my real name has been lost to time, but you may refer to me as The Jackle. I was instructed by Lola's father to oversee these altars and with my incredible powers, I may do so." The mysterious creature explained. "So, do you know what they are if Lola's father doesn't know?" Kale asked. "These altars are the Altars of Time. By using one, one can travel to any specific point in time. However, such use is restricted on a need basis only. In other words, unless there is something major that requires traveling through time to take care of, then I'm afraid the Altar of Time is offlimits. And even then, only those I personally give authorization to may enter." The Jackle explained. "Messing with time can have serious repercussions that would ruin the world you've created for yourself after it's long since become fruitful." He added before suddenly he levitated a few books from out of the altar. "Are those books?" Molson asked. "These are not mere books, these are stories. More specifically, these are stories of other versions of Equestria. Some like this one here which regards how the battle against the real grogar played out differently and has become stable." The Jackle said, pointing to a book with a brown cover. "Some like this one where Twilight was essentially tortured and conditioned by Sombra to be his tyrant queen and lover are currently under construction." The Jackle said, pointing to one with a black cover. "But others like this one here where the wonderbolts fell on hard times had their stories ended prematurely." The Jackle said pointing to one with a yellow cover. "But no matter what kind of world one version of a universe like yours ends up as; one where it ends prematurely, one under construction, or one that becomes stable; my job is to look make sure nothing and I mean nothing happens that would lead a version of events to playing out so differently, that it changes the history of a certain version of a universe so much, it breaks the time stream. Such things need to be fixed accordingly." The Jackle said. "I see." Luster Dawn said. Suddenly one of the books The Jackle was holding had black smoke coming off from it. "What the...no!" The Jackle said. "Just as I bring it up, seems your specific world's history is being tampored with; someone is trying to change the way your world turns out by also using time travel without the aid of the Altar of Time." The Jackle said. "Let us help; we can handle this." Summer Breeze said. "Well...okay. Just be careful not to cause too many changes when your in the past." The Jackle said. "We'll be careful." Chitin said. "Namu and friends stop bad things from happening." Namu said. "I trust in you. However, while the six of you can go, Cozy Glow and the others cannot. Their presence would cause problems. Same with you, Lola." The Jackle said. "But you'll be able to communicate with the others from this point in time thanks to my powers. So, are the six of you ready?" He asked. "We're ready." Luster Dawn said. "Good. Then step into the Altar." The Jackle said and let Luster and her group of six head in. "I'll do what I can and see if I can figure out whose causing this to happen on my end. I may not be able to go with you guys, but that doesn't meant I can't do my part all the same." Cozy Glow said. Suddenly as the group entered, her necklace began to glow. "Wait...that necklace..." The Jackle said. "Forget what I said, Cozy Glow you can go too, but you cannot give your name out." He said. "Um...okay. Not sure why you would change your mind over my necklace but okay." Cozy Glow said and entered the Altar with Luster's Group. "Wonder what's so special about my necklace anyways..." She added. "That is something you will come to know when the time is right, thee who shines the brightest even in the darkness." The Jackle said. "Oooookay...no idea what you mean by that." Cozy Glow said. "I think you may need some rest later. Gotta make sure you have the mental compacity to do your job after all." She added. "I assure you I am fine. Your destiny is much greater then you realize yourself, young pegasus." The Jackle said before the Altar suddenly teleported the group away through time and space. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 - Return of the Nightmare //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 - Return of the Nightmare Luster Dawn and her friends are looking at a part of history where during the first time Diamond Tiara bullied Apple Bloom, the young young Apple Bloom was suddenly possessed by remnents of Nightmare Moon's power. "...Okay I am not liking that image." Luster Dawn admitted. "Didn't all of Nightmare Moon go away after Twilight and her friends defeated Nightmare Moon?" Cozy Glow asked. "Just because some form of the Nightmare is gone, doesn't mean it all vanished. Darkness can take many different forms, and it has turned past Apple Bloom into a being known as Evil Flower. You must go back in time and save Apple Bloom from herself." The Jackle stated. "Right..." Luster said. The group soon arrived in the past and were now ready to stop the possessed Apple Bloom known as Evil Flower. Though to say this was a one sided battle would be an accurate statement: Because Apple Bloom was still a filly and hasn't found her special talent yet, Evil Flower was quickly purified by the future elements of harmony. "That...seemed too easy." Luster Dawn said. Suddenly Slade showed up. "How dare you?! You really just showed up and dispelled one of my boss's nightmares. Now I'm going to make you pay!" Slade said. "Two battles in one day? This is insane!" Luster Dawn said. "Wh-what happened?" A now awakened Apple Bloom asked. "Looks like Apple Bloom has no memory of being Evil Flower. Let's just focus on Shade." Cozy Glow said. After a few attacks on Slade, suddenly a mysterious black female alicorn showed up. "Slade, your done here. My experiment was a success regardless of who stopped it. And any further presence here is not required." The Black Alicorn said. "...Consider yourselves lucky this time. I was just about to get serious." Slade said before he and the black alicorn were sent through time itself. Luster Dawn and her group were sent forward through time too, but not to the same point in time as the evil duo they saw. "A Black Alicorn Mare huh? Strange...not a single one of my books mentions her." The Jackle said. "Whoever she is, she seems to have revived Shade and is making him work for her." Luster Dawn said. "I see. I'm willing to bet she's the mastermind behind these attempted changes to history." Princess Twilight said. "I was thinking the same thing. I wonder why she wants to change history so much though..." Cozy Glow said. "Now that even I couldn't give you a guess on. I will do what I can to research more about this black alicorn mare. But until your next mission, take a bit of time off." The Jackle said. Author's Note A mysterious black alicorn with the ability to infect others with powers not unlike that of Nightmare Moon and also the ability to go back and forth through time has shown up. Just what is this mare's agenda and why is she trying to change the past so much?
