Chapter 1: The Curse of Malkavian Madness

Previous Chapter

Twilight was eagerly waiting in the waiting room of the councilor's chamber. Twilight expected for a room linked to something as important as a council to be a little bigger. Instead, the room was small, and there wasn't a lot of comfortable areas to sit in.

Suddenly, Twilight spotted a girl wearing glasses who was reading a newspaper. The girl then turned to face Twilight.

"Ahh, so you're the new fledgeling Prince Blue-blood was talking about, and a Malkavian too," The girl said. "Well, this should be very interesting."

"Allow me to introduce myself, my names Sugarcoat," Sugarcoat said. "I'm part of the Ventrue Clan."

"Sigh, yeah, nice to meet you," Twilight said as she was playing with the sleeves of her straight jacket. Suddenly Twilight heard faint whispering in her head.

"Drink the juice of the cattle," The whispery voice said. "Tear it apart with your bloody entrails."

"Cattle, what Cattle," Twilight said as she felt like some kind of dark creature was clawing at her brain.

Suddenly, Twilight face changed to a look of lunacy.

"Oh boy, now the fun begins," Sugarcoat said as she took a sip out of a cup of blood wine.

Twilight then saw a portrait of a male Vampire staring back at her.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU STARING AT," Twilight scowled as she walked up to the portrait. "You got a problem with me buddy."

Sunset was just coming out of the councilor's quarters when she saw Twilight and Sugarcoat.

"Stop staring at me," Twilight screeched. "You keep staring at me and I'll scratch your eyes out!"

Sunset needed to control the situation, so she was going to use a trick she learned from a Tremere priest. Sunset walked up behind the unhinged Twilight, and when she murmured some kind of incantation, Twilight felt a wave of energy envelop her body as she then fell unconscious.

"The picture's all-seeing eyes looked into my soul," Twilight murmured in her sleep.

"Wow, I had no idea the Malkavian madness would kick in so quickly," Sunset said under her breath. "Are you hurt Sugarcoat?"

"Nah, I'm fine," Sugarcoat said. "Gotta say though, I was pretty bored to un-death before that Malkavian came along."

Sugarcoat then turned to the unconscious Twilight, "See you around, new blood." Sugarcoat said as she then left the room.

When Twilight came to, she saw that she was in a completely different room than the one she was in before, it was a lot more luxurious.

"So, you're finally awake, huh," Sunset said as she exited from the darkness.

"Uhh, what hit me," Twilight said. "Sorry, my heads a little woozy."

"Don't worry, you'll be weak for a little while, but you'll get your strength back eventually," Sunset said.

"Welp, this is yet another chapter of my already crappy life," Twilight said. "My boss denied me a raise, I got stuck in severe traffic for an hour, I go home to find my ex-boyfriend cheating on me with another girl, I drink myself till I'm intoxicated, and oh yeah, I get turned into a blood drinking MONSTER!" Twilight as she slammed her fist on the floor. "Hmph, what else is new in the crappy life of Twilight Sparkle now.

Twilight then looked up to see Sunset's face, and at that moment, it was almost like something inside her jogged her memory of something.

"Wait a minute, you look familiar to me," Twilight said. "You're face, I remember you, you were one of my classmates back at Canterlot High. But then I heard on the news that you disappeared without a trace."

Twilight knew about this, because their had been a string of murders in which, all the victims were completely drained of blood. The only thing witnesses found were reports of a creature that had the resemblance of a bat. News Outlets called this, "The Dracula Murders," due to their Vampiric nature.

"Alright, I guess it's only fair if I told you what happened that night," Sunset said. "When I was alive, I used to never believe in monsters and creatures of the night, until one night, one of these monsters came for me. That night I died, but only that night, and when I awoke, my whole world had changed, all that mattered was the thirst. So my creator taught me how to feed, to hunt."

"But men fought back," Sunset said. "Armed with hate and fear, they put my master down like a beast."

"If it weren't for my Master, I would've died that night too," Sunset sadly said. "And the rest is history."

"Hmm, I'm sorry for what happened to you." Twilight said with a look of sorrow.

"Oh don't worry, I'm fine," Sunset said. "Come follow me, since you don't have a sire that's alive, Prince Blueblood has decided that I will be your teacher and mentor around our glorious society. Let me introduce you to the rest of our kindred." Sunset said as they left the room.
