Anova is an ambitious young unicorn with a passion for all things science and magic related. Bezezelle is her cheerful changeling-in-disguise best friend and always there to support her wild ambitions. After months of preparation, a few setbacks and several all-nighters, Anova is ready to present her latest project entry for this year’s school science fair; instantaneous teleportation pads! When her invention starts to malfunction during their presentation, Anova and Bezezelle find themselves being whisked away to an unknown destination.

Now in a strange new land filled with hot sand and hostile lizards who want nothing more than to eat them for lunch, the pair are forced to run for their lives. Stumbling across the ghost town of Goodsprings, they're saved by the town’s Sunny Smiles. After being patched up the town's one and only Doc Mitchell, the pair learn a little about the world they've found themselves in. When the good doctor is left with a new patient in critical care and not enough medical supplies to properly treat them, Anova and Bezezelle are sent on a mission to acquire more supplies and get a hoofs-on lesson on surviving the Mojave in the process.

Note: ‘The Cards That We’ve Been Dealt’ is an adaptation of the original Fallout: New Vegas story. Core parts of the original storyline will generally stay the same, such as the Second Battle of the Hoover Dam and certain faction quests. Because without those parts there’d be no ‘Fallout: New Vegas’, these parts are essential to the adaptation’s storyline. In other words, they have to be included.

***It's goes without saying that this story will contain MASSIVE SPOILERS for those who haven't played or seen the original Fallout: New Vegas!***

I just want to put this out there as a just-in-case heads-up/warning kind of thing. I’m not copying the game’s story and just replacing certain characters/events with my own or anything like that. It’s nothing more than an adaptation and a crossover rolled into one. As such, I've added new locations, new events and new characters to the world of the Mojave, but nothing that drastically alters the core story of New Vegas. Minor-ish stuff, in other words.
