Inside a bar called "The Sports Bar With No Name", Bow Hothoof and Hondo Flanks are enjoying beers labled "Buckwiser" with a crowd of other mares and stallions, whom were either drinking something else or not drinking at all. Their eyes were glued to the mirrorvision of a football game between the Manehattan Masters and Canterlot Sorcerers; the score is tied 36-36. The announcer on the mirrior said "Touchdown! Manehattan Masters win with a score of 42 points.
The bartender shouted "Alright, anypony who betted on Manehattan Masters will get their money once they leave the bar; the ones who didn't bet on them it sucks to be you." .
"It was obvious that the Manehattan Masters were going to win; not only have they had a good season but they're coach has been going hardball on all of them. " Hondo said after he had a sip from his mug.
"But it was still a pretty close game since the Canterlot Sorcerers were so close. They had the best support system; both in trainers, coaches, mascot and cheer squad." Bow said after he took a sip from his mug too.
"Especially the cheersquad." Hondo said with his eyebrows raised while looking at the cheerleader mares on the mirror, mainly thier butts
Bow laughed a bit before saying "I didn't mean it like that, Hondo.".
"I know. So, want to be on one more game or call it a night?" Hondo asked.
"How about one more game. I still got enough money to play with and I haven't gone over my budget. How about you?"
"I can go for one more game too. " Bow said before he and Hondo went to another bar to look at the other mirriors that had countless other sports on them.
Hondo asked "Want to bet on Air Racing, Basketball, Buckball, or a Magic Duel? I would prefer to go with a Magic Duel since my budget is more inclined to betting on them."
Bow said "We can't do Air Racing since the Wonderbotls are racing the Shadowbolts and Washouts tonight and you know I don't bet on my own daughter's teammates. Lets bet on a Magic Duel since the Buckball teams that are playing aren't worth betting on and the same goes for the Basketball teams."
Hondo said "I'll never understand why you don't bet on the Wonderbolts. If anything, I thought you and Windy would see this as a means of cheering on your daughter.
Bow explained "That's what we thought at first but Stormy Flare told us that bookies are paying closer attention to the families of athletes are trying to use that as leverage against them to either win or lose their events. Plus, if we're going to cheer our Dashie on we'll do it the stands.".
Hondo said "I know exactly how you and Windy cheer. It's a shame we all didn't go to the same school; we could have used your enegry for our cheersquad.".
Bow said with a confused look on his face "I remember Ponyville High having a great cheersquad and mascot.".
Hondo explained "Keep in mind I was three years ahead of you, Windy, and almost everypony else when it came to high school; you guys were still in middle school when I was a sophmore. When I was allowed to play football in my sophmore year, the cheer squad that went alongside us was full of nothing but pretty faces with almost no talent. Sure they could do all the moves, positions, and dances provided to them by the coach but they didn't have any real spirt in their cheers. "
Bow said "Given that you were quite the mare's stallion in high school like you always claimed you were, having sex with almost half the mares in your grade, I'm surprised that you're complaining about pretty faces; not to mention you and your team were so good that you didn't really need a cheer squad, according to you."
Hondo said "I know my team was talented and the coach and I did our best to lead the team to victory but we sure could have used a more cheerful cheer squad; the audience did a better job than they did and it was like that for nearly the entiretly off my high school football years. The cheersquad got better for me when I went to college but you know I didn't last long playing for Manehattan U. In conclusion, we could have used a better cheer squad and why I made sure that Rarity and Sweetie Belle had the best, personal cheerleading instructors for when they went to High School and wanted to join the cheerleading squad."
Bow said "Mainly me and Windy since we wrote the book on cheerleading mascotry. Cookie was there to help us too since she was the head cheerleader of Ponyville High too and knew their routines better than anypony."
Hondo complimented "The combination of your skills and hers made them one of th best cheersquads for each of their years. The three of you combined have so much energy that you could provide magical support roles in a magic duel."
Bow said "Windy and I were actually evaluated for magic duel qualifications; they wanted to see if anypony in Cloudsdale High had enough weather capablities and inner magic to fill in support and fight roles that the school needed. Surprisingly, we were told that we had some of the best stats to play on such a team; we were in the top 30 list
"And you didn't accept?" Hondo said with a confused look on his face.
"Nope. Windy prefered to be a fighter in a magic duel but she didn't meet the muscle requirement for mares. As for me, I met every requirement to be in support and fight but I turned down the offer."
"Because you wanted to be on a team with Windy?" Hondo giggled while giving Bow a nudge onf his arm.
Bow explained "That would have been a bonus for me at the time but it's like my reason for not joining the Air Ball team. I like to watch the sport more than participate in it; whenever I partipate it's only for fun, not competition. "
Hondo said "Nothing wrong with that but for what it's worth I think you could have become a pro athlete if you applied yourself; afterall you're pretty strong when it comes to the mock magic duels we play at the Fitness Center."
Bow said "That's because it's a friendly match between friends and ponies trying to lose weight. I'll stick to watching, and often reporting, on the sports and the players who compete."
An announcer said "Last call for Magic Duel betting."
Bow said "We'd better hurry."
Hondo and Bow made their bets at the stand; they wagered that a magic team named Celestia's Hearlds would win against the other magic teams, The Knights of Sombra and Sire's Hallow 6. The two stallions watched and drank as the match went on. As time went on, the duel had ended with Celestia's Hearlds coming out on top; they still had two of their members still standing in the end. After Bow and Hondo collected their winnings, they left the bar and decided to head to Hondo's place to relax for a bit before Bow went home; plus, Cookie and Windy are out and they agreed to meet at their( Hondo and Cookie) house before going back to Cloudsdale.
Hondo asked "So what are you going to use your winnings for?".
Bow said "Half of it is going into the Las Pegasus fund; Windy and I are trying to go there for vaction for at least a week. What about you?"
"I'm going to donate it to the Ponyville High Football team so they can get better equipment." Hondo said while looking at a nearby poster labled "Ponyville High Football Team sign ups" before it flew away.
Bow said "You know as much as I've seen you donate money to the team I'm surprised that you haven't volunteered to coach the team."
Hondo said "I've thought about it but I know that I left a "reputation" back there that wouldn't really fly with the school, especially once they pull out my record."
"You mean your reputation of being a mare's stallion?" Bow inquiered.
Hondo said "Exactly. While it wasn't a problem per say, the school would probably see it a potential controversy point that could be pulled up later and harm the schools reputation. Afterall, they wouldn't want a stallion with a reputation like mine to give them any ideas; the ideas being how to pick up mares in your class and get them to have (consensual) sex with you. "
Bow said "Unless you were a famous football player; if that were the case they'd probably bury it and bribe the pony with the information to keep quiet.
"As somepony who works for the Cloudsdale Times, I'm surprised you would say that." Hondo said with a surprised look on his face
Bow said "I'm saying it from near personal expereince; had story that dealt with a famous athelete who was caught in drug scandal and my boss wanted me to drop it until it was released by our rival publishing group, The True Blue Cloudsdale."
"You don't say." Hondo said, choosing to not to inquire any futher.
"Which is why I hardley cover any celebrities except when I'm asked to just take pictures and not write strories."
"Let me ask you something. If I were a famous football star, active or retired, would you report on me?"
Bow said with his hand on his heart, while looking up at the sky "My journalistic integrity would compell me to do so if I felt there was a stroy was important. However, I wouldn't report on your personal lifestyle so long as it isn't criminal; lucky for me you're the fifth most honest stallion I know."
"Thanks. Wait, who's ahead of me?" Hondo said with a surprised-confused look on his face.
Bow explained "Bright Mac, Igneous, Gentle Breeze, and my brother Rainbow Blaze.".
Hondo said "Ah, that makes sense.".
"Do you ever wonder what it would have been like if you had become a famous football star like you hoped?"
Hondo explained "Nope. I don't regret stopping in sophmore year college; I wasn't able to keep up with my studies there and play like I did in high school, the pressure was a lot more than I could handle, I found a new purpose in training ponies to be the athlete I could never be, and I met Cookie, the only pony who is my equal when it comes to sex. What about you; do you ever wonder what it would have been like if you actually went into competitive sports?"
Bow said "No way. I could never handle the pressures of being competitive and the work it takes; never mind some of the concerns, like drugs, sex scandals, and criminal activity I had growing up. And if I had I would have never gotten my internship at the Daily Trumpet in Manehattan, traveled to Saddle Arabia, nominated for the junior ponllitzer prize, and (finally) started dating Windy.".
"To no regrets." Hondo said before he and Bow fist bumped.
Once they arrived at Hondo's house, they could hear giggling coming from the backyard. Bow said "Speaking of our wives, it sounds like they're in the hot tub outside?"
Hondo used his magic to ex-ray the backyard and saw Cookie and Windy in the hot tub nude and splashing water on each other; eventually, the two mares started to kiss each other. He then said to Bow" They're doing more than just enjoying the hot tub. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
Bow suggested with a smirk on his face "I'll take Cooke and you take Windy?"
"Lets do it." Hondo said before he and Bow rushed into the house.
