A cart carrying a stallion rolled along the pathway to a kingdom, He had a light grey coat, a grey-black with blue highlights mane, and bright green eyes. He was being sent to a kingdom that had a daughter that he was being courted to. Finding the entire thing a foolish quest, He didn't even know the princess' name! The cart entered to see a village that seemed to be in a constant state of night, But the sky had seemed to be in a constant light show, Shooting Stars decorated the sky along with floating Rainbows. The Unicorns seemed to have a sparkling coat and mane As if the stars decorated them. He looked up to see a large castle, and it shared the same fate as the people, It was sparkling and decorated with the moon's current phase, The cart passed through the entrance to the castle the guards saluting, His father and mother gave him a look. "You will meet this mare tomorrow morning while we talk about the specifics of the alliance." His father said as Loud horns blew out, The carriage opened and allowed the family out. "The king, Queen, and Prince of the Unicorn tribe!" Cobalt looked around his eyes landing on a king and queen, The king had a sparkling black coat and a white mane, His wife had a dark sparkling blue coat and a dark purple mane. The king's purple-blue eyes looked at Cobalt with a disregarding gaze, The wife's ember eyes held the same gaze. The two's regal clothing had been decorated with constellations and moons. Cobalt was lead away from the older ponies and to a room that he assumed was his room, Folding his clothing and setting them aside he laid down. A skylight had allowed him to watch the stars and moon. Closing his eyes he tried to imagine the princess, Did she have her father's coat? Or her mother's? Did she have her purple-blue eyes like her Father? or ember eyes like her mother? Closing his eyes he decided to think about it more in the morning. *Later that night* Cobalt woke up to his mouth feeling dry, setting up he groaned rubbing his eyes. Deciding to go and get some water he got up and used his magic to light his way through the castle and to the kitchen. Grabbing a crystal cup he turned to get some water before jumping and dropping a cup from someone's hoove steps. Looking around shocked panicking, He heard it again and saw something out of the corner of his eye. Jumping when a plate smashed he shined his light where it broke and saw a mare staring at him in shock. She had a white mane and blue coat, Her eyes were purple-blue and filled with fear. The mare backed up and shakily breathed. "Wh-who are you?" She stuttered out. Her voice shy and timid. "I'm Prince Cobalt, from the unicorn tribe, my parents are here to court me." He said the mare looked at him shocked. "I-I'm Princess Meteora, Princess of the meteor kingdom." She said, her eyes still shocked and scared. This was the princess? Cobalt chuckled. "I assume we should get to know each other then if we're going to be married." He said The princess chuckled as well before turning her eyes to the broken cup on the floor. Cobalt turned his gaze to where hers was. "O-Oh sorry it's just that you-" The pieces were encased with light purple magic that had made them float and forge back together, The plate done the same thing. Cobalt smiled as she handed him the glass she filled with water. The mare grabbed two cookies and handed him one. Walking down to the twos room they talked about childhood stories and the kingdoms. The princess stopped by her room and smiled softly. "This is my stop," She said, Cobalt swore he heard sadness. "Goodnight." She said and before she went into her room she went over and pressed a kiss to Coblat's cheek before quickly going into her room. Cobalt turned red and smiled at the door before heading to his room, his mind on the mare. Setting the cup down he laid down in the bed and looked up into the sky, He pressed a hoof to the place she kissed and turned red. She wasn't like the other Mares his parents made him meet, She was completely different from them. From how she didn't seem snobbish, from how she seemed to be caring when he mentioned one of his pet birds passing away when he was younger. The mare had told him about how her younger brother would be the ruler of the kingdom and how (once they were married) she would be moving to his kingdom. Which Cobalt didn't mind her mentioning? He was the only child of his parents and she was one of 3 sisters and one son. She was extroverted and sweet while he was Introverted and cold to many. She preferred cookies and cakes and while he preferred sour lemons or gooseberries. He smiled softly and rolled over. The two seemed to be complete opposites, and he was sure his parents expected him to not want to marry her, however, the more the two had talked that night the more he felt his heart speed and bloom. She seemed to be perfect, she balanced what he was just by being herself. She may be his complete opposite, but she was his perfect match. She was the heat to his cool, the sweet to his sour. Looking into the light one thing remained on his mind. ~Maybe marrying her wouldn't be so bad?~ Cobalt woke up to a servant waking him, looking at them he got up and put on his clothes. The servant grabbed the cup and walked out. A second servant leads him to the dining hall. His mother and father were there along with the king and queen. The doors open again and Princess Meteora walked in looking at him. She softly smiled and sat down by him. The king looked at Cobalts father and smiled. ~"This is my daughter, Princess Meteora."~ Author's Note Sorry, It seems so rushed near the end.
