My Little Soldier

                                                 In the early hours of the day, the sun shone brightly, splattering many rays of warmth across the ground. It was such a wonderful day in the town of ponyville, that a young purple unicorn by the name of Twilight Sparkle was out on a picnic with her 5 freinds. One of those friends being a blue pegasus with a rainbow mane bearing the name of Rainbow Dash. Twilight carefully levitated a cup towards her mouth, and took a long sip of the cool cider within it.

"So, Rainbow Dash, tell me, why did the weather ponies scedule such a beautiful day today?" The purple mare questioned.

"They thought that because of the horrible storm they sceduled on tuesday, they would start off the week good." The daredevil friend replied cheerfully. "Though I must admit, I didn't expect them to be so thorough with it." Rainbow took her glass of cider and let it's cool taste trickle down her throught.

"Why's that, dear?" Rarity, a white unicorn dressmaker, asked with curiosity.

"Well, this is only ponyville after all. You'd think Canterlot would get all the sunshine in Equestria." As the blue pony replied, she chuckled a little. "I mean, are we all of a sudden bigger than Celestia?" The other ponies laughed at this ridiculous thought.

"I don't think we should question the most wonderful, terrifical, bestest, fun-as-a-party, have-to-make-a-joke-about-Celestia kind of weather!" Pinkie Pie, the cheery, always smiling member of the group, declared with great joy.

"Why of coarse. This weather is magical." Fluttershy, a rather quiet pegasus, whispered.

Twilight shuddered as a cold chill passed through her body. What could have caused it? She noticed that Rainbow had bumped into her right before her cold chill. That's weird... Twilight thought. She tilted her head and looked at the blue pegasus. Suddenly the bodies of ponies around her faded away. It was only Rainbow Dash. Her and Dashie were alone.

"Twilight!" She snapped back to reality when Spike, her dragon freind, called her name. Twilight shook her head vividly and stared at the ponies around her.

"Uh...." She began. "It's getting awful late, and I think we all need some sleep." They stared at her for a minute and then relized she was right.

"See ya, Twi!" Rainbow said to her. "Tomorrow do you want to come over to my earth home. I have two, one in the sky and one down on the ground."

"U...Uh....S...sure...." Twilight studdered. She shuddered again when Rainbow left. What's wrong with me? Rainbow is so...so preatty....Iv'e never noticed it before.... Twilight thought. Her beautiful mane, her....her wonderful personality...I... Her thoughts drifted and she made her way home. Twilight curled up peacefully in her bed and slept.

Twilight's horn glowed brightly as she levitated the last of the library books away from her. She had read all of them, trying to discover why she felt so different about Rainbow.

"UGGH! Nothing here is helping!" She screamed. "Well, there was that one book but....it...it couldn't be...." Love. Twilight dared not say it out loud. but...what if it is love? what will I do? The purple pony walked out of her house trotting towards the Rainbow ponies earth home.

"Hi, Twilight!" Dash greeted. "Step inside, please." Twilight walked inside and shuddered when Rainbow brushed past her. "So, what do you wanna do first?"

"I am hungry...." Twilight said.

"Oh, sure. Here, have this! It's my special, the Rainbow Burger Extraveganza!"

"Thanks." She moved the oddly colored burger to her mouth and enjoyed it thouroughly.

"So, what you been up too?" Rainbow said through a mouthfull of food.

"Nothing much. I'm reading a new book I think you'll love!" Twilight replied after swallowing the delisious meat of the burger.

"Oh, cool!" Dash said joyfully. "I actually invited you over to give this book back to you." She handed Twilight a book with a purple cover.

"Thanks. How's your Marefriend, Spitfire, doing?" Twilight asked.

Rainbow's ears went down. "Actually, I found her cheating on me with Soarin last week."

"That's awfull!" The unicorn said in shock. "Anypony who can't see how great your love is, must be blind!" Twilight stopped. "I...I..I mean....that....that...uh...uh..." She stopped as suddenly as she started.

"I get what you mean." Rainbow laughed. "Eh, who needs her? I got 5 best friends to take care of me, anyway!" Twilight laughed and turned her head to the tv.

"And in other news, war is in Equestria." The newspony said. "Discord has returned, with an army of...changelings? More on this after the break." Twilight looked at Dash and shook her head.

"Isn't that just sad? Ponies risking their lives in war?" She sighed. "Those poor familes, watching their loved ones go out just to get hurt."

"Yea, it is sad." Dash replied. "H...hey Twilight...."

"Hm?"

"I think your...really nice....and...and..."

"And?"

"I....I wanna ask you out for a date...."

"Sure, dashie. I'd love that."

The evening had gone perfect. Just perfect. Twilight and Rainbow had talked and by the end of the night, they were going out. Twilight smiled widely at the rememberence of the question.

Twilight had walked up to the rainbow daredevil and sat with her. They had begun eating, until a conversation started up.

" So, Twi, I hear Spike's been giving you trouble." Rainbow had stated.

"Yes. He is a very stubborn dragon, and he's starting to make me mad." Twilight had replied. "He's just...so....young. It's very hard to keep up with him alone."

"Well, you know, I could help take care of him." Dash had pointed out. "Itt'll be just like raising a kid." They had shared a glance, and Rainbow came clean. "Look, Twi. i like you. Alot. I...I... ever since I first saw you, I knew we would become good friends. But, I never thought it would come this far."

"What...What do you mean?" Twilight questioned as she felt the blue pony clench her hooves.

"Twilight....will you be my Marefreind?"

"Of coarse."

             It had been almost a year since it happened, but she remembered it as if it was yesterday. She was wearing a bright blue dress with a jewel necklace and bracelet, as she had another date with the rainbow pony. Twilight approached the raving lights of Berry Punch's bar. Stepping inside she noticed Rainbow Dash with a tux.

"Oh, hey Twi! Your here, and.....man, do you look beautiful." Rainbow complimented.

"O...oh thanks..." Twilight blushed. Rainbow took her hoof as they awaited for the pony they came to see. DJPON-3. They applauded as she stepped out.

Twilight looked at her marefriend and the speech the dj pony was compleatly blurred out by her mind. Until she heard;

"I would like to dedicate this show to a very special mare named Octavia Philharmonica. I know we’re going through a rough patch right now, but I hope with all of my heart that we can work it out. It has been about a year since I first earned the privilege of calling you my marefriend, and I just want you to know that it has been the happiest year of my life. I would spend the rest of my life with you if you would have me. This one goes out to you, baby. If you’re here, I hope you enjoy the show.”

And then Twilight stood in shock. She had been expecting the rowdy dubstep, rock like music to start but instead it was slow, and quite nice. It reminded Twilight of Rainbow. Before they started dating, Dash was rowdy, and a dare devil of great preportions. Then, when they were dating, She became calm and gental. Twilight flinched as she reconized one of Octavia's greatest pieces were heard from the speakers. Twilight closed her eyes and danced gracefully with Rainbow, her hooves moving in a beat with hers. They were compleatly entertwined. Then, another piece was played. a violin was played, merged in with a dubstep kind of song. Kindove like Twilight and Rainbow Dash's relasionship. One of them, rowdy, one of them, calm and peacefull. (whitch kinda sounded like This )  Rainbow and Twilight kissed, and then gasped and moved when they noticed Octavia pushing through the crowd to the stage.

"Octavia?" The gray pony didn't hear Twilight call to her. They noticed Vynil look down at Octavia, and Twilight and Dashie applauded.

"Twilight." Rainbow was speaking over the two ponies at the stage.

"What is it?" Twilight responded, her curiosity now off of the two musisions and on Rainbow.

"The year weve been dating has been the best for me, and youve been amazing. I...I want to ask you for something....just a simple request."

"I'm all ears." Twilight said almost in perfect harmony with Octavia on the other side of the room.

"My request is that I never want to be alone." Rainbow smiled with joyfull tears streaming down her cheeks. She turned to hear Vynels final words to Octavia.

"Octavia Philharmonica, will you marry me and promise that you will never leave me again?”

" Twilight Sparkle, will you marry me, and promise to never leave me lonely ever?"

Twilight stopped with the rest of the crowd, speechless. Tears streamed down her eyes as her and the cellist said a the same time;

“I promise.”
