Prologue

Gloom forest
Rainbow dash, Gears, Gilda,
1250hours, October 4,1970

Gears was adjusting his scope. He was known as the deadliest sniper Equestria has ever had, and he didn't intend on losing that title. A cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane approached him, She held a Thompson submachine gun in her hooves. She tapped him on the shoulder, and He turned, and saw his superior and friend Rainbow Dash.

“Hey dash what’s happening.” Gears asked her

“We're getting to the location. Happy birthday, by the way.” Rainbow said

“Thanks” Gears stated

“Wait, it's your birthday today.” Gilda asked

“Yes, it is,” Gears answered her

“Why aren't you with your family or some pony you fancy.” Gilda asked

“They need me on the field so I’m here.” Gears said with a sighed.

“Of course leave it to equestria to make someone work on their birthday.” Gilda said in annoyance.

Before the other two could make a rebuttal. The helicopter came down for a landing. Rainbow, Gears, and Gilda got off the chopper and walked through the trees. The helicopter flew up and cycled the jungle, waiting till it was time to retrieve them. Gears, Rainbow, and Gilda were heading to a base in the forest. They were looking for a defector who was at the base. Gilda leads the way. Rainbow and Gears held back to talk. “Gears you're seeing anyone recently” rainbow asked making small talk

“There was a farmer, but she broke things off.” Gears said sadly.

“Sorry to hear that.” Rainbow gave her sympathy.

“That's enough about me. What about you and twilight?” Gears asked with a sly smile.

She chucked and said “fuck off Gears”

“I can’t wait till this war is over. I could properly be able to start a family after all this is said and done with.” Gears said optimistically.

“Well, it's not over yet so come on” Rainbow said

“Yes, ma'am” Gears followed close behind rainbow. Gilda got to a clearing. Her two squad mates close behind Gilda stopped them and pointed at a watchtower. Gears walked forward and aimed his mosin-nagant at the dragon guard. He lined up the shot and fired a bullet that went clean through the guard's head. The corpse fell off the watchtower. The three walked past him. They moved forward and got to a barbed wire fence. through the fence they saw a few patrols of three guards. their was a couple of buildings with guards posted on them.

“Gears switch to your M1 garand were going in,” rainbow order

“Yes, ma'am” Gears saluted and put his sniper on his back and pulled out his rifle. Rainbow pulled out a pair of wire cutters and cut a hole the fence. The three entered the base and took out three guards. The gunshots alerted the base, and the alarm barriers all around them. The three stuck together and fired on anyone, dumb enough to engage them.

“Rainbow, where the fuck is the defector,” Gilda asked

“He’s at the command center at the center of the base.” rainbow answered

Gears shot two snipers on top of a barracks “the command center is over there.”

“Nice catch Gears. Everyone head to the command center” rainbow order

The three entered the command center. Gears shot two guards in the building while rainbow covered the front door. Gears and Gilda went deeper into the building. They went room by room, clearing out the rooms as they did so. They got to the last two rooms. Gears took the one room, while Gilda took the other. Gilda entered the room and Saw a red dragon surrounded by two dead guards. He was speaking into a radio, blood on his face. “Don’t worry, comrade, we are going to make them pay for what they have done. The world's screwed up and get retribution for what they done to it. Isn’t that right, Gilda.” the dragon said

“What how did you” Gilda was cut off

"You brailed into the room. It's easy not to miss you. You griffins have been through a lot and have suffered at the hoofs at equestra from both sides. Me and my allies want to help those like you. What do you say.” the dragon offered

“Hay what the fuck is happening here.” gears asked, aiming his rifle at the dragon

“He’s the defector gears” Gilda stated, putting her talon on gears' rifle

“Good, so what's your name, sir” Gears asked

“You speak dragon.” Gilda asked.

“Yes, it's my first language,” gears told her

The three left the room and ran to the front of the building. They saw rainbow dash fighting off two ponies. She shot one in the head and bucked the other one in the chest. She then pulled out a 1911 the guard put his hoof up trying to grab the pistol, rainbow moved his hoof out of the way and fire a round into his head. The now four ran towards the front gate rainbow got on her comm link and gave an order, “this is India leader requesting danger close, I repeat danger close.”

“That's one way of making an exit.” Gears stated.

Motors were launched and blew up the base behind them. The four ran to the LZ. the helicopter landed just in time the four entered the helo and escaped the forest. The helicopter was heading north to alpha base. Gilda looked at garble with a quizzical look on her face. He looked back at her and smiled.

Spike was being escorted by two guards. They were leading him to the war room where the leader of the dragon lands and one of the changeling hives were waiting for his arrival. When he arrived at the doors he took a deep breath and walked into the room. He saw president ember and king thorax. They were chatting about politics of their hive and country, respectively. Once they saw spike they gave him a warm smile. He was sent to be a delegate for both of them so he was on good standing with them. Spike looked down at his files, seeing if he was missing anything. At that moment, twilight walked into the room. Spike quickly took a seat as twilight took her own.

“Good to see everyone’s here.” Twilight said with authority no one else in the room could match

“Ok let's not pass on the issues at hand. the COR has is at an all time high and we cant have this.” Ember stated

“Yes and queen chrysalis’ hive has joined their ranks making them more powerful than ever.” Thorax added

“Yes, we are aware of this and I had Spike put together a team to deal with them.” Twilight said giving spike the signal to share the information.

“Now the were know the COR has been gathering power since the war of crowns. We also know that general Garble is a part of the COR. now my team is the best of the best and we will deal with the threat.” Spike informed them

“And who is a part of this task force” Ember asked

“Colonel Gears, Corporal Woodfire, and Private Scootaloo and myself.” Spike stated

“That's a relatively small group.” Thorax said nervously,

“We’ve done more with less in addition. I have a contact in the frozen north who will join us when able.” Spike information gives thorax some form of comfort.

“Thorax and I can’t provide you with any men. Not currently anyway,” Ember said

“We’ll try to provide men at a later date.” Thorax added.

“Ok, we'll send word to woodfire you can inform Gears and Scootaloo they live in ponyville like you so it shouldn't be hard.” Twilight said and dismissed him

Spike walked out of the room as the three converse about other topics. Spike walked to the train station and purchased a ticket. He got a text from his wife that say to pick up apple bloom at school before coming home.

1530 hours, September 30, 2010

Spike got off the train and walked to the school along the way he saw many civilians going about their day, some ponies, some dragons and the occasional changeling here and there. He got to the school and saw applejack chatting with Scootaloo. Spike took this moment and walked up to them.

“Hey girls, what are you doing here?” Spike asked.

“Hey spike me and scoots here were waiting for cheerilee to let us in. Apparently lightning and applebloom got into a fight again.” applejack said

“Yeah those lightning is going to get it when this is over” Scootaloo stated

“Scoots, the mission was approved, were being deployed in the next ten days.” Spike told her.

“Ok, cheers can watch lightning in the meantime.” Scootaloo said,

“Good we have two more on this but you’ll meet them soon enough.” Spike added

The door opened and cheerilee was looking at them with a smile. She invited them in and they saw lightning and applebloom glaring at each other. Both had a black eyes. This was going to be a long week.
