My new life as a god of destruction
Have you ever gotten that feeling where something was going to happen, that would change your life forever? Well, I get that feeling a lot, but when something life-changing does happen, most people would get excited, but not me. I was freaking the hell out. I was just a normal everyday teen going about his life; however, that all changed when I went to Comic-Con. I know what your thinking: “Why would I be freaking out by going to some comic convention, and how is it life changing?”
My name is Max Blazer. Well that's was what people used to call me until my whole life changed.
Being a huge Sonic fan, I have knowledge about everything Sonic-related, whether it be from the games, comics, or show. I went to the convention as my favorite Sonic character naturally, and that happened to be the God of Destruction, Chaos. I like Chaos because of a few things: one, I think his design is cool, two, because how cool he looks after absorbing each chaos emerald he gets his hand on, and three, his perfect Chaos form looks like a bad ass water dragon serpent.
I was walking around looking at stalls that had some really cool merchandise. Of course, they were all too expensive to buy, so I just kept looking. As I walked along, something caught my eye: a stall that had full sized replicas of the chaos emeralds and master emerald. I walked over and looked at them with wide eyes.
Thinking that they would go great with my costume and seeing that they didn't have any price on them, I decided to ask the guy who had them on display for their price “Hey dude, these don't have any price tags on em, how much are they?” A man in a cloak wrote something in a book and looked at us.
"For you, Chaos, they're free." At that point, I should have figured that giving away something that looks like replicas of magical and powerful artifacts from a show or game wasn't right and just walked away, but instead I felt myself being drawn to the emeralds.
“Seriously?”
“Yes.”
“Awesome thanks dude. Now my costume really does look complete with these!” I say as I grabbed the emeralds. “What's your name anyway?”
“Oh, you can just call me...the Trader.”
“The Trader?” Before I knew it, the Trader snapped his fingers as bright light enveloped my body, and I was whisked off to a universe that I would soon call my new home.
Ten hours later...
I slowly start to wake up with blurred vision, feeling that I was laying on the ground. I carefully start getting up. “Ugh, what happened? Wh-where am I?” I placed a hand to my head and heard a splash of water. I looked at my hand as my vision came to, I saw thick water-like forearms with three large fingers where my hands should be. I looked around and found a small puddle of water, I walked over and saw my reflection, the reflection of Chaos. “Aaaahhh, what the hell!?” I screamed falling on my backside before looking back at my reflection in the puddle. “What the hell happened to me? How the fuck did I become Chaos!? How did this happen to me, and most importantly, WHERE THE HELL EVEN AM I?"
It took me a bit of time to calm down from my shock, but I eventually calmed down as I took a look around at my surroundings, and from the looks of it, it seems like I'm in a cave somewhere within a forest. Deciding to get a better look at myself I saw that I had a short stump for a tail and long feet which were also water-like, with two large toes each, not to mention my thick water-like forearms with three large fingers that I first took notice of when I awoke.
Deciding I should have a look around I turned towards the cave entrance to leave; I felt something calling out to me from behind me. Turning around, I was shocked to see the chaos and master emeralds that I thought were replicas at first laying on the ground. Walking over to them, I picked them up started to expect them. “I can't believe it...these chaos emeralds that I thought were replicas are actually the real things...but how?” As much as I would want to believe the emeralds were still replicas, I couldn't really deny this weird energy I was feeling when holding them. “I wonder how I'm supposed to carry these around? Absorbing them is definitely out of the question because everyone knows what happens when Chaos absorbs all 7 emeralds.”
Thinking back at all the Sonic games I played and shows I watched, whenever sonic or his friends are holding a chaos emerald or a device, they always place it behind them, as whatever they were holding would disappear, so I tried putting the emeralds behind me, and to my surprise, they disappeared. Thinking it might work in reverse to get them back, I reached behind again and grabbed an emerald.
“Wow, I can't believe that actually worked!”
After I got a hold of things, I decided to head towards the entrance of the cave and leave. Once I left the cave, I saw that the forest that I noticed from the cave entrance wasn't any forest I knew of, or seen before, especially with the creepy vibes it was giving off, like a hunted forest or something. “I don't know where I am, but whatever this place is, it's freaking me out.” I start walking into the forest hoping that I would find my way, but as I went deeper into the forest, I was assaulted by three wood-like wolves. Seeing one of the wood wolves, I tried ducking under it. When I ducked, I was surprised to see that I had just turned into a puddle of water. Remembering some of chaos' attacks from the games, I jumped up and stretched my arms, smashing each of them one by one. After dealing with the wolves, I continued my way through the forest, hoping to find my way out. “I don't know where the hell I am, but I for one know that those wolves where not normal. Am I on a another planet or something? Like, really, come on!”
After an hour or two of walking, I find a house literally made out of a tree in the middle of the forest, and seeing how there were lights on inside, I knew that someone was home, but right when I was about to knock it realized something. “Wait what am I doing? If I knock and whoever lives in here sees me like this they'll surely freak out...but on the other hand, if I don't knock, I won't get any directions on the way out of here...gah, screw it, I'm knocking. I'm pretty sure whoever lives in this forest might not care about the weird things here, like those wooden wolf creatures.” Taking a deep breath, I knocked, hoping whoever was inside wouldn't really be afraid of me.
“Oh, I wonder who could be at my door at this hour? I should probably answer it before my brew goes sour.” Hearing that made me sigh in relief that someone was home. I was surprised to hear that the voice was female, and was also confused when I heard them rhyming. Once the person that was inside opened the door, I was shocked to see that the lady was actually an anthropomorphic zebra. Of course she also looked at me with a shocked expression, neither of us saying a word.
Meanwhile, at Canterlot Castle...
Princess Celestia was sitting in her throne room, having just finished talking with the last of the nobles for day court. Finally, she didn't have to listen anymore about how some of the nobles wanted to borrow money to build their own private resort, or how some of them wanted the taxes to be changed where the nobles have to play less while the poor have to pay more, but of course, she did have to oversee the preparations for the upcoming Grand Galloping Gala; however, as she was about to do so, she felt a strange surge of energy within the Everfree forest.
“What in Faust name was that? I never felt anything like it before; whatever it is, I can sense that it's very powerful.”
She teleported some ink and quill along with a piece of parchment and started writing a letter to her student, Twilight. “Dear Twilight Sparkle, just moments ago, I felt a powerful energy surge coming from the Everfree forest, and I would like you and your friends to go and investigate whatever it is that caused it, and report back your findings. Your teacher, Princess Celestia.”
After sending the letter, she looked out her window towards the Everfree forest “I hope that whatever the strange energy was isn't too dangerous for Twilight and her friends to handle...”
Twilight was in her library working on one of her little experiments, when all of a sudden she heard a burp coming from Spike. When she saw him coming downstairs from their room, she noticed that Spike was holding a letter.
“Twilight, Twilight! You got a letter from Princess Celestia!” She stopped what she was doing and put everything away before turning back to Spike. “What is it Spike? What does the letter say?” She asked, wondering what her teacher wanted.
Spike reads out loud what Celestia had written. Hearing it, she got up to head out and find her friends so they can find whatever caused the energy surge the princess mentioned, but not before talking to Spike.
“Spike, I need you to watch over the library while I'm gone okay?”
“Yeah, I know, Twilight, you don't have to worry, I got this. Now go find whatever it is Princess Celestia wants you to find.” With that, Twilight teleported out of the library to find her friends.
Meanwhile, back in the Everfree forest, in Zecora's hut...
"What? So, you mean to tell me that not only am I most likely not in my world, but I'm in a land of talking anthro ponies and other mythical creatures?"
“Why, yes, this all is all true, and from what you told me of your home I would to say I had no clue.”
I just sat there in my seat sighing. “Yeah, I guess if you were in my shoes, it would be true.”
After me and the zebra mare who introduced herself as Zecora finally snapped out of shock, she invited me into her home. She told me how we're in a land known as Equestria, ruled by ponies, and how she moved from a land far from Equestria all the way here, and made her home in the forest, called the Everfree forest. She also told me about a town near here that was called Ponyville, and how the residents there were scared of her when she first came into town, and how they finally stopped being afraid of her, thanks to Twilight and her friends. After I introduced myself to Zecora and told her everything about me up until today, like fighting the wooden wolves, which I learned were called timber wolves, thanks to Zecora. “So, my liquid friend, what's the plan for now, before the days end?”
“Well, maybe I can go visit that town you told me about, and probably go see that mare, Twilight, to see if she might be able to help me find a way home.”
“That would be a right choice of action, but I feel you might bring some attraction.”
“Yeah, good point. I'm pretty sure everyone would freak out if they saw a strange water creature come of the forest and walk straight into-”
“Zecora? You in there? It's me, Twilight. The princess asked me and my friends to find something here in the Everfree forest, and we found some strange tracks leading to your home.”
Well, crap, this won't end well. I thought to myself.
To be continued...
