Author's Note
I don't know if there will be a sequel to this story, but for now it's only 1 chapter.
I have added a little bit more of what the students are doing so the story will flow a little bit better, please tell me if there are some problems with it, I will try to fix them and add more as I go along, might have to add a second chapter though, let me know if you want me to add a second chapter.
The new student
Pastel was laying in her bed with a towel under her head to catch the copious amounts of drool that constantly flowed from her mouth, her hands were tightly curled up to her chest.
The room that Pastel was in was very big, there was a very big closet in one corner of the room, the closet had two big wooden doors, there were some markings on the doors they were probably used in an old wiccan ritual Pastel guessed.
Pastel's mother knocked on her daughter's door, then she went inside.
"Pastel sweetheart, it is time to get up!" Her mother said as she came to Pastel's bedside.
“Good morning mom!” Pastel slurred as her hands curled even tighter against her chest.
"Let’s get you up for school, today is your first day of high school, you wouldn't want to be late on your first day, now would you?" Pastel's mother said as she got her daughter dressed in a black T-shirt and blue jeans and into her wheelchair, which was yellow and black.
Pastel's mother took her downstairs to feed her. Pastel has green eyes and her skin is yellow and she has red hair.
As her mom went to prepare Pastel's food, Pastel just sat in her wheelchair, looking around the room.
There were pictures on the walls of her friends at her old school.
Sometimes Pastel wished that she could walk and play like the normal kids can, but because of her severe disabilities, she couldn't play with the other children.
Pastel's mother came out of the kitchen and saw that her daughter was sad.
"Oh sweetie, what's wrong?" Pastel's mother asked.
"Will the kids like me?" Pastel asked, looking up at her mother with tears in her eyes
"I'm sure they will, if they don't then they won't know what they are missing, you are so cute!" Pastel's mother said, hugging her daughter.
"Thanks, I love you!" Pastel slurred.
"I love you too, now let's feed you and get you to school." Pastel's mother said.
Pastel's mother started to feed her daughter some porridge, but a lot of it ended up on the table instead of in Pastel's mouth.
When Pastel had finished her food, her mother took her to brush her teeth, which was not easy.
Pastel swallowed a lot of toothpaste, which she didn't like.
When Pastel's mother was done with brushing her teeth, she and Pastel went out to their car.
Pastel's mother loaded Pastel in the back of her car then they drove to school.
Arriving at CHS, Pastel was so excited that she couldn't control her arms, her mother tried to calm her down, but it didn't work.
"Come on, let's go inside." Pastel's mom said, getting Pastel out of the back of the car and then going to the front of the building.
Once inside, Pastel and her mom were greeted by Principal Celestia in the main hallway, and she took them to her office.
Once they had arrived at Principal Celestia’s office she opened the door to let Pastel and her mom enter.
Then Celestia sat down behind her desk.
"Well I'm so glad to finally meet you, Pastel!" Celestia said with a smile.
Pastel just sat in her wheelchair and didn't say anything as she didn't want to draw attention to her speech problem.
"It's ok, you don't have to talk now, just take your time." Pastel's mother said.
“I just have to finish some paperwork and then we will go to meet your classmates, ok?” Celestia said to Pastel.
Pastel nodded.
“So you came here from Philadelphia, right?” Celestia asked Pastel's mom.
"Yeah, we didn't want to constantly have a reminder of what happened to Pastel's dad, so we moved to Newport." Pastel's mom said.
"Ok, well I hope that you will like it here, Pastel." Celestia said, getting up and walking to the door then she held the door open for Pastel and her mom.
As they were walking to the classroom, Pastel's mom was looking at the trophy case. After walking down three hallways, they arrived at the classroom.
Celestia opened the door to reveal at least 6 students in wheelchairs at work.
"Hey everyone, this is Pastel, she will be joining our class this year, please make her feel welcome here," Celestia said as she walked into the room with Pastel.
"Well hey there, Pastel, I think that you will fit in here!" The teacher who had rainbow hair and was wearing a blue t-shirt said as she came to Pastel. Pastel nodded.
"My name is Rainbow Dash, but you can call me Ms Dash." Rainbow introduced herself.
"Hi, Ms Dash!" Pastel slurred, some drool falling from her mouth into the bib she was wearing.
"Well, I have to go now, ok, Pastel?" Pastel's mom said giving her daughter a kiss on the cheek before leaving the room.
"So who is going to pick me up from school today?" Pastel asked.
"You'll be riding on the bus with my other students." Rainbow said.
"Hey, my name is Layla, what's your name?" A student said coming up to Pastel.
Pastel noticed that Layla was sitting in an electric wheelchair that was black and it was decorated with Lord Of The Rings stickers.
"Uhh, my name is Pastel, I like your style." Pastel said, gesturing to Layla's wheelchair.
"Thanks, I hope that we can be friends!" Layla said, driving her wheelchair over to a girl who was laying in a wheelchair that was red and white, the girl had black eyes and brown hair, she was wearing a white dress.
"Hey Lilliana I want you to meet someone, this is Pastel, she is new here." Layla said, motioning for Pastel to come over.
Lilliana lifted her head up to look at Pastel and smiled.
"Lilliana has this thing that is called a tracheostomy tube that helps her breathe, she also has someone who is always with her." Layla said to Pastel who wasn't really paying attention.
"Oh, right." Pastel finally said after a while.
"Hey Twilight, could you please come here?" Layla called to a young woman who had purple hair and was wearing a purple dress.
Twilight came over to Layla and Liliana.
"What's wrong, is Liliana ok?" Twilight asked, checking Liliana's tracheostomy tube and her feeding tube.
"She is fine, but I want you to meet Pastel, she's new here!" Layla said to Twilight.
"Well it's nice to meet you, I'm Twilight Sparkle, but you can call me Twilight, I'm Liliana's aid!" Twilight said to Pastel.
"It's nice to meet you too!" Pastel said.
Layla introduced Pastel to the other students, there was a boy in a big black wheelchair that had a tray on it, his name was Tylor, he had a blue t-shirt with the Superman logo on it, then there was a girl who's name was Eliana.
Eliana had autism and cerebral palsy and PTSD.
Eliana could talk and walk, but she had trouble understanding things, her favorite subject is math.
Then there was Applejack who was Tylor's aid, and Pinkie Pie who was Eliana's aid.
Pastel looked around the room and noticed that the room had a very big toy box in the corner, and she also noticed that there were no desks in the room, the walls were painted blue and white, and the floor was wooden.
In the left corner of the room stood six computers all in a row, Pastel guessed that those computers were there for the students to use, she was right.
"Ok, students time to do some math," Rainbow said, bringing Pastel over to a computer, and turning the computer on to a math program.
On the computer screen was the question, what is 3+4?
Pastel put in the number seven, then on the screen popped up a smiley face with the words "good job"
The next question Pastel had to answer was a little bit harder, what is 8+9?
Pastel put in the answer which was 17, and that answer was correct so Pastel saw another smiley face on the screen.
Pastel looked to her left where applejack was trying to get Tyler to do his math problems, but he did not want to do them, then pastel turned to her left to see Eliana also doing her math problems, which she really enjoyed doing.
After they were done doing math the students all went to lunch, today the cafeteria was packed so Rainbow Dash decided that Tyler would stay in the classroom as he could not handle loud noises very well, so Pastel decided to stay with him, Tyler was a bright boy even though he had severe disabilities.
Tyler had brought his own lunch today usually he would eat in the cafeteria with the others, but today was different.
As Pastel sat next to Tyler and Rainbow Dash who had stayed behind to help feed Tyler, she couldn't help but smile at how handsome Tyler looked, he had blue eyes and black hair.
"Hey, Pastel do you need help?" Rainbow asked seeing Pastel struggle to open her lunchbox.
"No thanks, I can do it myself," Pastel said, finally getting her lunchbox open.
For the next couple minutes they ate in silence, every few minutes Pastel would steal a glance at Tyler, she really wanted to talk to him but she didn't know how to.
After lunch it was free time, that meant the students could do whatever they wanted, because some of them needed to lay down throughout the day.
Tyler usually just sat in his wheelchair playing with his toys on his trey, but this time Pastel joined him.
"Hey, Tyler, how are you?" Pastel said once she was next to him.
Tyler did not answer her, he just continue to play with his toys.
Pastel tried to grab one of the toys so that she could play with him.
"Uhh!!" Tyler moaned loudly in protest.
Rainbow who was helping Liliana draw something came over to Tyler, checking to make sure he was ok.
"What's wrong Tyler?" Rainbow asked.
"I think Tyler doesn't want me to play with his toys with him!" Pastel said.
"Now Tyler that's not very nice, you should let Pastel play, after all she's new here." Rainbow said handing one of Tyler's toys to Pastel.
"You have fun now kiddos!" Rainbow said going back to Liliana.
