Al my sandwiches are gone, all 4 of them. I ate one last night, but this girl … SHE DOWNED 3 IN 5 MINUTES! Well that means no lunch today, Great. Oh well, I wonder why, and who for that matter, told her that this forest is Apple Acres. Maybe she was reading and old map or something.
“Thanks.” She yawned. When she stretched her front legs in the air, some book fell to the floor.
*THUMP*
She blushed, “Oh, sorry” and she quickly picked up her book. I got a better look at it in her hoof; it was a dark brown notebook with “Day to Day Log” scratched on the binding and cover. I can tell it is old and this is probably the reason she thought this was Apple Acres. I wonder what it is.
“Hey, what’s your name and what’cha you doing in the Somber Forest?” I asked.
“Huh?” she replied but continued, “Oh! I’m Clockwork and I've been researching the past.” I understand her mark now; it appears to be some sort of clock. It looks like 4 tick-marks in a north, south, east, and west pattern and an ‘L’ pointing to the top and right marks. This also explains her knowledge of Apple Acres; she obsesses about the past. Because Apple acres’ trees are so far apart to make collecting easier, so shrubs and trees grew in the gaps, making it a forest. All the light that would normally reach the surface, no longer did, so … it earned the name ‘The Somber Forest’, meaning the dark forest. Anyways, she seems to be reading her book, so I have to ask, “So …What’cha reading?”
Her head shoots up, as if she forgot I was there, “Um, well …” she started, “It’s called ‘Day to Day Log’, and it’s a book about, well … the log of a Crusader.”
“What? When was this made?” I asked.
“100 Years Ago, when the world went haywire.” She replied.
Perfect.
