She opened the front door, but no one was there. All she found was a small box. Inside was a vial of clear fluid and a slip of paper with a series of images on it. It showed the fluid being put in a small cup and then adding a single rabbit hair, a phoenix feather, and the shell of a robin egg. Then, the cup had to be left uncovered for twelve minutes. Fluttershy followed this strange recipe and then drank the resulting fluid, which was glowing and changing color. Nothing seemed to happen for an hour, and then she felt a grass-like skirt forming around her fur. Then she felt a crown settle into her hair. Looking in a mirror, she saw her gem for the Element of Kindness in the front. Then, a spot on her forehead began to glow softly. When the light cleared, she saw a horn in that spot. She smiled as she observed her beauty, and then she heard a voice. "You are Fluttershy, Equestria's Princess of Kindness." //-------------------------------------------------------// Pinkie //-------------------------------------------------------// Pinkie At the same time that Rarity became an alicorn, Pinkie was helping Cup Cake and Carrot Cake teach their twins how to bake. They were making a cake for Twilight's birthday. When a knock was heard, Pinkie rushed to the door, but no one was there, except for a small metal box with her name on it. Inside was a cupcake next to her gem for the Element of Laughter. The cupcake changed both color and flavor with each bite, and it was the tastiest one she'd ever had. She went back inside and continued helping Pound and Pumpkin with making Twilight's birthday cake. At one point, everyone cracked up laughing at how much fun they'd had. One they had finished icing the cake, Pound and Pumpkin were given the honor of placing the final decoration on the top of the cake. Suddenly, the Cakes were blinded by a flash of light that surrounded Pinkie. When the light cleared, Pinkie was dressed in a regal outfit and wearing a crown that had her gem in the front setting. She had also sprouted a horn and wings. Then she heard a voice in her head as if someone was speaking to her. "Your name is Pinkamena Diane Pie. You are now Equestria's Princess of Laughter." //-------------------------------------------------------// Applejack //-------------------------------------------------------// Applejack The day after Pinkie and Rarity became alicorns, Applejack and her siblings were harvesting apples to make cider for Twilight's birthday. When they got to the last tree, there was one apple that did not come loose. Applejack climbed up and pulled with all of her might. Eventually, the apple broke free. However, she pulled so hard that the remaining force caused her to fall out of the tree. She managed to catch herself and then she saw that the apple was really her gem of Honesty. She admitted that she did not know that her gem had turned into an apple. Knowing that they were making apple cider, they decided to get up early. This way, they could make as much as possible for both Twilight's party and to sell. The next day, they started making cider, and then Applejack began to glow orange all of a sudden. When the light cleared, she looked different. She had a horn on her forehead, and wings had sprouted from her back. Applebloom commented how pretty her sister looked, only for Applejack to hear a voice in her head. "Your name is Applejack. You are Equestria's new Princess of Honesty." //-------------------------------------------------------// Twilight's birthday //-------------------------------------------------------// Twilight's birthday Two weeks later... Twilight was sound asleep when her friends arrived in Canterlot. They all showed up for the party in different ways. Rainbow pulled off another Double Sonic Rainboom, which amazed Twilight. Fluttershy was brought in by a massive group of birds. Rarity had hired a carriage driver to bring her in. Pinkie came disguised as a giant balloon, and then popped out. Applejack had hidden in one of the barrels of cider, and then jumped out. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TWILIGHT!!", they all crowed. Twilight clapped her hooves and then asked how they had become alicorns. None of them really had much explanation as to why it had happened, but they proceeded to tell each of their stories about what happened. Twilight was intrigued by each description, and later wrote a scroll to Celestia. Even she had no idea why this happened, so Twilight knew that the answer would come eventually. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Elements split up //-------------------------------------------------------// The Elements split up Three years after the retirement of Celestia and Luna... Twilight had recently found a spell to restore the Elements of Harmony to their forms as jewels. She placed them in a glass case in her castle's library, and then created a plaque that said what they were and who represented each one. Twilight was making her rounds in Canterlot when she felt something on her flank. She looked at her cutie mark to see it glowing and vibrating. She was confused because the map had not summoned her or either of her friends for a long time now. She hurried to her castle, and saw that the map was not the reason. She could hear what sounded like energy moving, but she did not know where. She followed the sound into the library and then saw something strange going on with the Elements of Harmony. The gem for hers had detached from the tiara and was floating towards her. It seated itself in the tip of her crown. Then, came what she was not expecting at all. Six beams of energy emanated from the center of the circle and split it into sections. For some reason, the Elements had been split up. She had no idea why this had happened, but she was determined to find out. //-------------------------------------------------------// Rainbow Dash //-------------------------------------------------------// Rainbow Dash Rainbow had retired from the Wonderbolts and was returning from a vacation when she heard the sound of thunder cracking. Looking around, she was confused because there were no dark clouds. Suddenly, she heard a loud bang of thunder. Looking upward and in front of her, she saw a massive cloud, and had no time to react before a rainbow colored lightning bolt came streaking down and hit her between the eyes. She was blinded by the flash and the shock caused her to pass out. When she woke up, she was in the hospital. Nurse Redheart told her that she had not suffered any fractures, but she was out for two days. She was checked out after her vitals had returned to normal later that day. As she began flying home, she felt a sudden burst of energy in her veins and she began flying faster than ever. She began to panic and flew up to a cloud to rest. She thought that she could calm herself down by doing one of her favorite things: a Sonic Rainboom. She flew up from the cloud and suddenly shot towards the ground, not knowing she had produced a rainboom when she started moving. As she flew faster towards the ground, she arched her wings to go towards the Everfree Forest. She closed her eyes to keep out dust, and then she felt the air getting thicker as she neared the point of the boom. Suddenly, she heard the sound of electricity as the Rainboom went off. Her wings began to ache, and she pulled them in. As she glided down, she turned her head to see her Rainboom, but then her eyes grew large and her mouth fell open. She had done what nopony would ever expect: TWO RAINBOOMS IN ONE!! She touched down and skidded to a stop in the dirt. She then felt a sudden amount of loyalty in her heart, and an orb of light appeared around her. Beams began circling her body and she felt a piercing pain in her forehead. When the light cleared, she was dizzy and her wings felt stronger and more powerful somehow. Curious about why she felt a pain in her head, she found a puddle from a recent rainstorm. When she saw herself, she was rendered speechless. She had sprouted a horn. Then, regal robes made of rainbows began appearing above her and floating down and onto her body. Then, she felt a crown nestle itself in her mane, the jewel was her element gem for Loyalty. She then heard a voice in her head. It sounded echoey and far away. "You are Rainbow Dash. You are now the Princess of Loyalty." //-------------------------------------------------------// Rarity //-------------------------------------------------------// Rarity The day after Fluttershy became the Princess of Kindness, Rarity was working on a design for her newest outfit. Sweetie Belle had gotten the mail and brought a small box to her sister. When Rarity opened the box, she found her gem for the Element of Generosity. It was glowing dimly and there was a note under it. The note said to give her new design to the Canterlot branch of her shop. When Rarity was finished with her design, she sent it to the Canterlot Boutique. Suddenly, her skin began to glow brightly and she felt something on her back. Her fur was glowing so bright, she could not see what was happening to her. When the light cleared, she saw Sweetie Belle looking wide-eyed at her. "What's wrong, sis?" "How did you get wings?", Sweetie Belle asked. Rarity jumped in alarm and then rushed to the mirror. Sure enough, there was a pair of wings that had sprouted from her back. Then, her gem began to glow brighter and then a crown formed around it and came to rest in her hair. A sparkling dress materialized around her and then she heard a voice as if somepony were standing next to her. Sweetie Belle could not hear anything. "Your name is Rarity. Equestria recognizes you as its Princess of Generoity." Rarity beamed at how pretty the dress was that she was now wearing. Sweetie Belle took out her camera and snapped a picture.
