//-------------------------------------------------------// Anon a miss: family love -by lion Brave- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 1: meeting //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 1: meeting Thursday, December 11. 6:27 P.M. Sunset was walking down the hall, barely holding back the tears. It has been about 4 weeks since Anon-a-miss appeared. She still couldn't believe that her friends stopped talking to her. Abandoned her to fend for herself in a school that was so broken. Though there was one thing that the school collectively agreed on, Sunset was to blame and that she would receive their anger. It was beginning to tear her down, all the shoving, the name-calling, the glaring, and the notes. It was why she was here so late. She wasn't confident that she would be safe if she left school immediately. Anyone planning to jump her would certainly leave after waiting nearly an hour in the snow. She left the school and made her way to Canterlot City Park. She walked along the snowy sidewalk as puffs of breath floated upwards. Sunset stuck to the less-traveled paths in hopes of avoiding everyone that knew her. As she arrived at Canterlot City Park in the park, she sat on a bench with her cyan long sleeve shirt and her leather jacket that did very little to warm her. She quickly glanced around her, showing that she was relatively hidden from people waking the paths due to the snowbanks. She looked down at her arms as she rolled up her sleeves. She flexed her hands, letting the biting cold envelope her arms and hands. As she waited, she began to think about her friends and the things they said to her. "Why are you doing this? We're friends," Sunset pleaded as she was pushed away from her friends. "Because you betrayed us!" How could you do this to us after everything that we've been through? I thought we were friends!!!!" Pinkie Pie shouted as angry tears and hurt washed over her face. "But we are friends!" Sunset tried again. "We're not friends. Friends don't betray each other like you did. I trusted you, and you hurt me! You were probably laughing about it too!" cried Fluttershy as she placed her face into Rainbow's shoulder. "Why am I not surprised that you're still the same bitchy Queen Bee of the school!" Rainbow Dash shouted, glaring at Sunset, while she held a sobbing Fluttershy. "It is quite obvious it was you, Sunset Shimmer. I don't want you anywhere near me, my friends, or my family!!" Rarity proclaimed loudly, drawing attention to her in the hallway. "Go on now, get away from us and stay away!" yelled Applejack as she stood in front of the group, arms crossed. Sunset took a couple of steps backward before she turned around and fled to the nearest bathroom while she felt the malicious stares from the students in the halls. As she looked around, the glares and became sadistic grins as it became one girl against the whole school. Slow tears flowed down Sunset's cheeks as she started to quietly cry on the bench. The pain was overwhelming that Sunset sought relief from it. She blindly reached into her jacket pocket and took out her red and blue Swiss army knife. She took in a shuttering breath, and her hands shook from the nervousness of doing this in the open or excitement about the pain finally being released she didn't know. She closed her eyes as she made the first cut and slowly watched in morbid fascination as blood began to leak from the wounds. She then began cutting her arms, and after about ten minutes, she put her knife away and wait for the injuries to stop flowing so heavily. Once the cuts were sufficiently closed, she carefully pulled the sleeve of her shirt over the wounds, and her jacket sleeve soon followed. With her shirt covering the cuts, she began to once again cry in silence. A light snowfall began, and Sunset looked up, watching the snowflakes flitter down, and wondered what it must be like to be so carefree despite their usually swift end. Slow rolling tears made their way down her face as she watched the snowfall. The snow began to wet her face and hair, yet Sunset could find it in her to care enough to wipe the melted snow off. All she did was watch the snow and her breath mix together in a swirling motion as if the two were dancers performing a concert with only her as their audience. While she watched the slow dance, uncaring about how her tears mixed with the melted snow, she suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder. Startled, she jumped off the bench and spun around looking for her attack, only for her to see Principal Celestia holding her hands up to show she meant no harm. With Principal Celestia was Vice-Principal Luna behind her, rubbing her arms to keep herself warm. "What are you doing here, Principal Celestia ??" Sunset asked defensively and silently grimacing at how aggressive it sounded. "We were walking in the park and saw you while we were walking around to destress. We noticed you looked rather upset and thought we could provide you guidance and comfort if you needed it," Celestia said carefully. She didn't want to make Sunset angry. While Sunset was a lot more mellow than she was at the start of the year, Sunset still had quite the temper when it was poked. She was concerned that the usually independent girl would take offense to that and get angry with her. "It's nothing," She mumbled. Luna being cold, but wasn't ebelieving that, "Now Miss Shimmer, neither me nor my sister were born yesterday. We can obviously tell something is wrong." "Fine! What want to know what wrong?!?" Sunset roared as angry tears worked themselves free. "My former friends left me all because of that stupid blog. The whole school thinks I'm Anon-a-miss and making my life a living hell because of it. To top it off, I'm such a mess right now that I don't even know what the right thing is anymore. That's why I'm out here. I'm sick of no one believing me so, and that's why I'm out here. I just want to disappear like so many people seem to want me to nowadays," Sunset screamed as she cried and shouted at the two shocked women. They weren't expecting her to have a meltdown. Celestia and Luna thought it was the typical teenage drama about the girl's crush rejecting her. "Well, Celestia nor I believe that you are Anon-a-miss. It was quite evident that you changed for the better after the Fall Formal, and let's not forget The Battle of the Bands, where you saved the entire school from certain destruction. Had this occurred before the Formal Fall, you would be the main suspect," Luna commented as she strode forward, placing a hand on her leather jacket to warm her. "You believe me? For reals? This isn't some sick prank or dream?" Sunset asked in a small hopeful voice. "No, this is not a dream." "Thank you for believing in me," Sunset smiled, though still sad and slightly broken. Sunset didn't look nearly as broken as she had moments earlier. "You don't have to thank us," Luna smiled as she hugged her. after sunset calmed down Luna spoke "Sister can we talk?" asked Luna Celestia and Luna moved away from earshot of Sunset. "Sister, you have to know where she lives so that you can speak with her parents about the things she revealed to us. She is a minor and needs someone to take care of her, and with how often she tells us her parents are out of town, I worry for her safety. You must make sure someone is there for her," said Luna. "I'll see that it is done, Luna," Celestia smiled. Celestia and Luna approached Sunset "I'll be going now. It's far too cold for me. You have a good rest of your day, Sunset. See you tomorrow at school," Luna said as she waved goodbye. "Bye, Vice-Principal Luna," Sunset said as she waved to Luna. She thought that was going to be it, but Celestia had yet to move. "Sunset, why don't I take you home?" Celestia asked gently. "No, I'm fine, you don't need to worry, Principal Celestia. I can take the bus," Sunset replied timidly. Nonsense, Sunset, it's already dark and I'm worried about leaving you alone. I need to talk to your parents so get in my car and you can show me where you live, "Celestia said as she pointed Sunset to her car. Sunset was unsure whether to show Celestia where she lived. She didn't have the closest relationship with the woman. While she knew that Celestia wasn't Princess Celestia, they were close enough that Sunset always felt uncomfortable around the woman. However, the woman wasn't taking no for an answer, much like her counterpart. Thus Sunset begrudgingly gave her directions to her apartment and only gave the directions to her house. Sunset avoided the small conversation Celestia attempted to have until they reached her old apartment. "Do you live here?" Celestia asked as she looked over the rundown building, puzzled. "Yes," Sunset nodded. "Seems kinda small for you and your parents," Celestia commented. "I live on my own. I don't have parents," whispered Sunset. "Not even in your world?" asked Celestia. "In my world, my parents died when our house caught fire," Sunset said in a quiet whisper. "Can we stop talking about this, please?" "Of course. Well, I can't in good conscience leave you here alone. So you can either come with me, and I'll make us a good dinner, or we can stay here and have take out." "I suppose a home-cooked meal wouldn't be too bad," Sunset said shyly. "Wonderful! Now, do you have anything important that we need to take with us?" asked Celestia. "Yeah, I have my pet, Ray. He is a lizard,I hope that's not a problem, my electric guitar, my notebooks, among other things," Sunset smiled. "Well, I'll help you pack the important stuff, and you needn't worry about Ray. I absolutely adore lizards," Celestia smiled. As they entered the apartment, Celestia noticed the lack of clothes for the girl. With Sunset only having one set of clothes that were very old and worn. Her lack of undergarments also caused Celestia to worry about Sunset and how healthy she actually was. On top of her dresser was a photo of her with her friends. The photo would normally cause Celestia to smile, but the tell-tale signs of the tear stains and teardrops caused pain to grow in her heart. She quickly gathered whatever scrape of cloth she could get her hands on and packed them in a spare bag. She looked over and saw a book with a sun on the cover. believed it was important Celestia stuffed that along with her clothes and made her way out to her car. Celestia helped Sunset put the of her things in the car and fell in love with Ray the moment she saw him and his little house. He was very small, and as she was helping Sunset put him in the car, she noticed that her shirt and pants were covered in blood. Celestia held her tongue until they were both in the car before she addressed Sunset. "Sunset take off your shirt," Celestia said sternly as the girl sat in the passenger seat. Sunset was startled by the tone. It sounded so much like Princess Celestia when she ordered her guards to escort her out of the castle. The tone awoke something primal in her, and she could help but shake in fear. She immediately obeyed as she ripped her jacket off like it was on fire. She paused for a moment when she reached her shirt. However, she removed the article of clothing all the same. Despite her hands shaking like leaves in the wind, she removed the shirt entirely and was now completely naked except for her bra. She closed her eyes and heard Celestia gasp. Celestia starred on in horror at the wounds that dotted her student's body. Sunset had tears fall from her eyes as her mind flushed with shame and guilt. I'm such a screwup. //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 3: trouble //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 3: trouble Friday, December 12 It was six in the morning when Celestia got up to ready for work. After a quick shower, she wrung her hair dry before she combed her hair. She daily fifty strokes as she entered Sunset's room to make sure she was up. She let out a sigh of annoyance when she realized that the girl was still sleeping. Celestia hoped Sunset would be as hard to wake up as Luna. Hoping for the best, Celestia walked up to the slumbering teen before she reached down to shake her awake. "Sunset, it's time to wake up, my little sun," Celestia said as she gently moved the girl's shoulder. "Princess? mmhnnmno, I don't wanna. Sleep is bedder," Sunset said sleepily. "Sunset, you have to go to school," Celestia said, rubbing her back. "What if I don't want to go... what if I'm too scared to go?" Sunset woke up completely as she stuttered the answer "Sunset, you're the bravest girl I know. You admitting that you're scared shows just how strong you are. When you go to school, you'll be the bravest one there. I know it scares you to go to school, but I will have a meeting with the teachers. They will be made of your situation and to keep a better eye on you to keep you safe. I don't want you to about Rainbow. I will have a conversation with her during her first period. You won't be bothered again and if someone bothers you, tell Luna or me, well handle it, honey," Celestia smiled at her. "Yes, Celestia," Sunset sitting up in the bed. "Very good, it's getting late, classes may start at eight-ten, but I have to be at school at seven-thirty. So you'll have to come to school with me. You'll need someone to help you gather your school materials and help you bring them to your classes. Do you need help with the bath, or can you manage without me? Celestia asked kindly. "If it's not too much of a bother, I don't know how to clean myself without getting them wet, but first, I have to give Ray his food first," Celestia nodded. Sunset approached Ray and started feeding him crickets. Celestia led Sunset to the bathroom and let Sunset go in first. Celestia waited outside for Sunset to call her in to begin helping her. After a few moments, Sunset called her in to help the more stubborn of garments before she got in the bath. Celestia lathered shampoo and conditioner in Sunset hair. Taking a cup, she slowly carefully rinsed the two from Sunset's hair. With Sunset's hair clean, Celestia she passed a soapy sponge along her back, legs, and upper arms. She gently washed her back and arms taking care of her injuries. Once she rinsed Sunset off, Celestia passed the sponge to Sunset so that she could clean her more private areas herself as she stepped out to give her some privacy. It wasn't long until Sunset called her back in, and Celestia helped Sunset with drying off and cover herself with a towel. "Wonderful, I'll go get your clothes from the dryer," Celestia said as she left the bathroom and went to fetch the girl's clothes. However, as she dug through the clothes in the dryer, the only things she could find were skirts and short-sleeved shirts. This presented a problem she didn't anticipate as she realized that Sunset would get sick. Frowning, Celestia took one of Sunset's shirts, a yellow short-sleeved shirt. Celestia looked at the shirt before she made her way to her own room and pulled out a pair of orange pants and a red jacket that was hidden in the depths of her closet. After finding what she was looking for, she went back into the bathroom and helped Sunset get dressed. Sunset was initially ashamed and uncomfortable with Celestia's help, but two things helped curb that kind of thinking. One was Celestia soothed her with tender words, and the other was the fact that she literally couldn't do anything for herself right now really do anything to take care of herself. "Relax, Sunset, everything will be fine. There is no shame in asking for help and accepting any that is freely given to you," Celestia said, noticing that Sunset was a bit tense. "I know, okay. I just, I hate this, I can do things on my own. I know I can. For as long as I can remember, I've taken care of myself. I'm sorry. I just used to this, "Sunset said as she slowly calmed down. , "Why don't I do your hair while you continue to calm down? And Sunset, you don't need to apologize for what you're feeling," Sunset nodded as Celestia ran the dryer and then began to run the brush through the girl's hair. "Thank you, Celestia, and I wouldn't mind you doing my hair," Sunset smiled at Celestia. "You're welcome, Sunset," Celestia replied as she set to work on brushing the rat nests of Sunset's hair. Celestia continued to brush her until Sunset's hair was the flowing fire that it once was all those weeks ago. Celestia helped Sunset put her clothes on and stuff her books in her backpack before she gathered her purses and headed downstairs for breakfast. "Well, Sunset, what do you want to have for breakfast?" Asked Celestia gently. "Just a bowl of cereal and some orange juice, if you have any," Sunset replied "Okay, but don't forget you need calcium too. So I need you to drink a glass of milk with them," Celestia gave her some milk. "Oh and, Sunset, I would like you to be in my office before your first hour for security." "Yes, ma'am," Sunset said as she shoveled cereal in her mouth. Celestia thought about saying something about Sunset's formality but decided to let it go for now. Instead, she returned to her bagel, which just popped up from the toaster ad began to sip at her black tea for breakfast. After breakfast, Celestia gave Sunset a new electric toothbrush, so Sunset had some independence with her cleaning habits. The brush was thankfully light enough for her use, even with vibrations. Celestia smiled as she began to gather some paperwork for her meeting later today. Once Sunset was finished getting ready, Celestia carried the notebooks and lots of Sunset's supplies to the car, and they headed to school. When they entered the school, they were alone except for student-athletes. Nervously Sunset led Celestia to her locker, and Celestia put the notebooks and backpack in the locker before closing. Celestia was about to begin the walk to her office when she turned around and noticed Sunset trembling ever so slightly. "Honey, everything will be fine. The person in charge of the anon-a-miss account will appear soon. Everything will be fine, I promise. Come along now, you can spend the hour in my office sleeping or just relaxing. Luna should be here soon." Celestia entered her office after telling Sunset to go ahead of her. In her hands were three mugs, one with a creamed coffee and two mugs of tea. Celestia placed the coffee on the table along with one of the mugs of tea before she made her way to Sunset. Sunset lounged on a small couch with her jacket acting as a pillow. She sat up when Celestia presented her the cup, and she found it to be a mint tea. "Thank you, Principal Celestia," Sunset smiled at her "I forgot to mention it to you, but you may call both Luna and me by our names unless there are other students around," Celestia smiled at Sunset. "Okay, Princ-Celestia," Sunset said with a small smile before she drained the tea and resumed to her makeshift bed for a small nap. After a while, Celestia woke Sunset from her brief nap, and Sunset waved goodbye to Celestia so she could go get a notebook and pencil for her next class and then avoid delays, which made Celestia nod. When she got to her locker to grab her needed items, she was pushed inside the locker and felt her panic rise as it was slammed shut and locked. "Apparently, Sunset is not as tough as she would like people to believe, huh?" Sunset looked through the grates of her locker to see who was mocking her and saw that it was Rainbow. She could feel the walls closing in on her and felt like she was being pushed underwater. She was breathing. She knew that, but she couldn't seem to get enough air to her lungs, and she wondered if that was what drowning felt like. In her panic, she slammed into the door with every part that could move as a hoarse whine escaped from her in a futile attempt to call for help or beg Rainbow to open the door, anything really, but she was incomprehensible, and words were pouring out in a gibberish mess. Rainbow laughed at the Sunset and said something about posting her test score again, but Sunset was in full panic mode and was becoming increasingly unaware of her surroundings and just barely noticed Rainbow walking away. Flash passed through the quiet hallway walking with Microchip and his girlfriend, Gilda. When they heard Rainbow boasting about putting someone in the locker to someone on the sports team. The two athletes laughed as they headed towards the lockers. That was when Flash started to hear a banging ring out from the hallway. A quick glance of the hallway revealed a locker shaking as the person inside it banged on the door. Flash quickly made his way over to it and quickly noticed that it was Sunset's locker and she was the one trapped inside. Flash's eyes widen when he saw Sunsets wide and panicked eyes staring at him. It was such a far shot from her usual confidence and strength that Flash was used to seeing her display. "Sunset .. is it you?" Flash asked dumbly because this could be Sunset, right? "Flash walsh closhing. Kanta breashsa I gelp I beck ju," Sunset replied in a slurred and gibberish way. "Do not worry, tell me the code, and I'll get you out," Flash said in a hurried tone. "Ish twelves, shirty-fix, and sven," Sunset replied before she repeated what she said like a mantra. She was still banging against the locker, so hearing the noise on top of her slurred voice was making it rather difficult, but her relatedness help Flash solve the locker code before a satisfying click greeted Flash after his fourth try. Quickly, Flash swung the door open as he pulled and caught the panicked girl from the locker before she could hit the ground. Flash gently sat on the ground as he took stock of Sunset's condition. It seemed that in her panic, Sunset had bruised her knuckles, maybe even her knees. She also had a nasty cut on her forehead from the grate of the locker. A small drizzle of blood made its way down the side of her face. "Are you okay?" Flash asked, concerned. "I'm fine. Thank you, Flash" Sunset smiled brightly. Flash looked at Sunset before he frowned, "You know you don't have to pretend with me, right? I know this can't be easy for you. I know that when you were a bully, it wasn't that hard to defend yourself and keep everyone away from you. But that was before when you had ways to defend yourself. Now it's just you against the school. I never thought you were anon a miss, you also changed For the better, and I have to make a confession," Flash stopped before as he considered the situation. Smiling sadly, he continued, "I'd like it if you and me could be friends. You know, start over and all that?" Flash confessed. "You sure you don't mind?" Sunset asked. "Not at all. You could use all the friends you can get," Flash said as he placed a hand on her shoulder. Sunset began to tear up before she buried her head into his chest as she said, "Okay, let's be friends." "Cool, but before we throw a party, let me first. I'll go get help, or you can come with me. I'm gonna be honest with though I'm not sure where the nurse is. I've never got hurt while at school. So it might be faster to take you to Principal Celestia," Flash while placing Sunset's notebook and pencil in his backpack. "Me and Gilda are going to look for something in the infirmary if it is open. You and Sunset go to Principal Celestia," said Microchip as he walked away with Gilda to the nurse's office. Flash helped Sunset stand and let her lean against him as he led the way to Principal Celestia's office. They got a few odd looks, but Flash ignored them as he was more focused on getting Sunset to an adult that could help with her condition. Flash was thankful when her door came in sight and knocked on the door. "Come in," said Celestia called. Flash walked in with Sunset leaning against him. "Good morning, Principal Celestia, Sunset was attacked and put in her locker, and I think she had a panic attack inside and cut herself up pretty bad. Gilda and Microchip are on the way to the nurse's office." "I see. Thank you Flash, give me a moment to look over Sunset. I'll be with you to ask you what you know." "Yes, ma'am." "Sunset, how are you feeling?" "I'm fine," Sunset said before catching Celestia's eye, "I just have a slight headache, and my visions kinda swimmy." "Will you be alright on the couch until the nurse gets here so I can talk with Flash?" "Yea, I think so." "Good, now go lie down on the couch but try to keep your eyes open. Okay, flash, can you tell me who put Sunset in the locker, please? Celestia asked sternly. "I heard Rainbow dash mention something about putting someone inside a locker when she and another soccer kid walked past me in the hallway. Rainbow was coming from where Sunset's locker is. That where I found Sunset panicking inside the locker. I got her comb from her and opened her locker then brought her here," Flash summed up. "Sunset, was it Rainbow Dash, or was it someone else that pushed into the locker? Celestia asked, turning to Sunset. "It was Rainbow," Sunset rasped out as she tried her best not to fall asleep or break down from how her former friends were treating her. "Okay, so Rainbow put Sunset in the locker and admitted to it?" Celestia asked. Flash nodded, "Basically." "Flash, thank you for bringing her here. You represent the qualities that I had hoped all the students here knew, compassion, loyalty, calmness, and critical thinking. Should you need anything from don't be afraid to ask. Now while I would love to continue chatting with you, I'd like to talk to Sunset. Can you wait outside?" Flash nodded and left the office. "Sunset, honey, are you okay?? Celestia asked worriedly. "Yes, I just hurt, and I'm getting kinda dizzy," Sunset replied "I know, honey, you can close your eyes for a while on the couch here but try to stay awake. When it's time for you to return to class, I'll send you to the infirmary to rest. I know it would be preferable to go home, but both Luna and I have a meeting with the teachers at the end of the day, and I'd rather you be with someone right now just to be safe. On top of that, I have a meeting with Rainbow dash. I'll excuse you from the classes you miss today. If you think you can manage one of the classes after lunch, let me know, and I'll take care of it." Celestia smiled at Sunset. "Okay." "Now sit tight. I'll let Flash come in if you want him to before class starts." "'Kay." Celestia called Flash in and went back to filing a report while Flash did some reading. Sunset laid there in quiet while she waited to go to the infirmary. The warning bell rang, and Celestia gave Flash a note to excuse his tarty while he led Sunset down the hall to the infirmary, having been given directions from Celestia. Celestia watched them go before turning to her secretary Raven. "Please have Miss Rainbow Dash sent to my office once class starts," Celestia said before turning around, stalking into her office without waiting for a reply from Raven. //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 4: punishment and consequences //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 4: punishment and consequences Sunset leaned against Flash as they came to the nurse's office. Flash was about to knock when the door swung open, revealing a woman with white skin and light pink hair. She wore white scrubs with a red plus and hearts in the corners of the plus. Her blue eyes were shadowed by worry but brighten when she saw the two of them. "Oh perfect, I was just on my way to fetch you. I just finished talking with Microchip and Gilda, and they mentioned that Sunset had been attacked. Flash, do you need an excuse slip?" "No Nurse Red Heart, Principal Celestia already wrote one for me, thanks though," Flash said with a smile as he led Sunset to the bed. "Well, I should be thanking you for bringing Sunset. Well, I'm about to check Sunset for any other wounds. So, I'm going to have to ask you to leave now," replied Red Heart. "Oh, sorry. Hey, uh, Sunset, I'll come by during lunch, okay?" A quiet nod from Sunset was the only answer he received before he turned around and slipped out the door and shutting gently and as quietly as possible. Flash turned around and headed off to class. When he entered his class, he walked over to the teacher and gave the note. The teacher read the note and offered a nod and proud smile before resuming the lesson. Flash walked to his seat, and his mind wandered to his time dating Sunset and what she liked to eat. She probably wanted to be as far away from the other students as possible, meaning she wouldn't go to the cafeteria for lunch. However, he could get lunch for her, and they could spend the lunch hour alone in the infirmary just talking. Flash smiled as he mapped out his plan together with Sunset and the topics they could talk about that they were both comfortable with. Flash began to write safe topics in his notebook throughout the rest of the lesson. With Sunset "Good news is you don't need to go to the hospital as the wounds are too serious. You do have a mild concussion, but the effects will only last until the end of today, tomorrow morning at the latest. It's a good thing Flash found you when he did, any more than this, and you'd have to go to the doctor's office. Your eyes aren't dilated, which is a relief; otherwise, you would have a more serious concussion. You are a little off when you walk, but you can move around on your own, and I think it's more because of your knees rather than the concussion causing it. I can allow you to sleep, but I'll be waking you up every hr to check on your condition, understand? If you're not degrading, then I'll let you go back to sleep." Sunset nodded before she let her eyes grow heavy and allow a dreamless sleep to consume her. With Celestia Raven arrived with Rainbow five minutes after Sunset was lead to the infirmary with Flash as her guide. Rainbow had tried to get some information out of Raven like she always did, but the secretary was strangely tight-lipped about the reason for Celestia wanting to see her. She simply led the rainbow-haired girl down the hall that led to Celestia's office. When they reached the office, Raven sat down at her desk and merely gestured for Rainbow to knock on the office door. Chewing her lip at the ominous vibe that she was feeling, Rainbow Dash knocked on the door in three quick knocks. A faint come in was all that Rainbow heard, and she opened the door to a cold office. Rainbow found this odd because she remembered that Celestia preferred rooms to be warm and covered in light. And while it was still light inside, it was harsh and cold from her window that showed the snowcovered ground. When Rainbow entered fully, Celestia was standing by the window as she looked outside at the light snow that was beginning to fall. "Sit down, Rainbow Dash," Celestia said emotionlessly as she pointed to the chair in front of her desk. Rainbow gulped as she sat down in the chair across from Celestia. "Do you know why you're in my office, Rainbow?" asked Celestia in her emotionless tone. "No," Rainbow said. "Then allow me to enlighten you. The reason you are here right now is because you locked Sunset in her own locker, sent her messages that could imply you wish her dead, and that she was a useless friend that should have never lived past the Fall Formal. Well, let me tell you, young lady, we are going to have a long conversation about both of these matters," Principal Celestia said sternly to the teen. "That's not fair, Principal Celestia. She did this to herself. If she didn't want to be our friend, why string us along? The only explanation is that lying bitch just wanted to get dirt on us to push us around like before the Fall Formal. Well, I'm not letting her do that to us again. She has to learn that she can't push us around like she did before," Rainbow said, too caught up to notice a small and angry frown form on Celestia's face at her chosen word for Sunset. "Rainbow Dash, you will not swear in my office again, especially when talking about another student. Do I make myself clear?" Celestia said as she walked to her chair. She stood above Rainbow Dash, who looked like she was going to fight her on that matter. When she saw Rainbow think otherwise and she looked off to the side with a scowl. "Crystal," Rainbow growled out. Satisfied with the answer, Celestia nodded before she pulled her chair out and sat in it to continue the talking. Rainbow found that even though Celestia was sitting down, she still towered over her, much to Rainbow's annoyance, and Celestia certainly knew how to use that to her advantage. "You know this has a consequence, right?" Celestia said, looking at the rainbow-haired teen. "What? No, why should I get in trouble for protecting my friends and their feelings?" Rainbow argued back. "Because your actions towards Sunset, including the locker incident, hurtful messages, and the language when you refer to her. Doing these actions in an attempt to how did you say it again, "protecting your friends," does not cancel out the fact that you attacked a student physically, mentally, and emotionally. Not to mention that this student was until recently friends with you and your group of friends. Doing the wrong thing for the right reason doesn't make it acceptable. Now for your punishment. Your punishment will include being two weeks of ISS for the locker incident and a call to your parents as to why you're being suspended. Once you have finished with ISS, you will have one week's worth of detention for cursing and the messages you've sent to Sunset. I will also be calling your parents to have one of them come and pick you up, and before you leave, I'll make sure to inform them of your actions and why you're being suspended." "What?!? But that's not fair. It's not my fault that Sunset is anon a miss!" Rainbow cried. "Do you want to know the difference between your and Sunsets cases?" Celestia asked as Rainbow became quiet. "The difference between your cases is that while you claim this and that of Sunset, you have no proof. All you have are accusations and assumptions that make her the guilty party. While with you, I have seen the messages you've sent Sunset. I have eyewitnesses claiming to hear you bragging about stuffing her in the locker. I witnessed you using disrespectful names with regards to her. I have personally seen what your locker stuffing incident caused on Sunset's body. Having said that, is it really that surprising that I would punish you rather than false claims of angry teens with no evidence whatsoever? Not to mention, you haven't once tried to deny these actions, which leads me to conclude that you purposely did them." "But I do have evidence she didn't lose her phone, and the pictures came from her phone. That proves she's anon a miss." "First of all, That does not prove that Sunset is anon a miss. Someone could have easily sent the pictures to themselves through messages and deleted the messages before placing the phone back without Sunset's knowledge of it ever missing. Second, they could have just as easily downloaded the pictures onto their laptop. Thirdly, this evidence still doesn't make your behavior towards Sunset any more accepted within this school, and even if Sunset was anon a miss, I would still be having this conversation with you. One does not stop bullying by attacking the bully, as the title of bully would then be award to you. You can't solve the problem of bullying by bullying the bully," Celestia said sternly. "But that's-" Rainbow said as she grasped at straws to justify her actions. "Now, I want you to wait in one of the chairs outside my office while I call your parents. While you're out there, think about your actions and the consequences you've caused outside of the ones I've already given you," Celestia said as she open Rainbow Dash's file so she could call the girl's parents. "Yes, ma'am," Rainbow said softly as she left the room. Rainbow walked out of the room completely defeated, before she shut the door softly. After the teenager left the room, Celestia leaned back into her chair as a heavy sigh escaped. It wasn't even lunchtime, and all she wanted to do was go home and sleep. As she sipped at the black tea that she reheated from the small microwave in the corner of her office. As she dialed one of the numbers listed in Rainbow's file, she received a call from Chrysalis. "Hi Chrys," Celestia said. "Hey Tia, I investigated Sunset shimmer like you asked me to, and she doesn't appear to exist in this world. I check all the files that I have access to and couldn't find anyone with that name. I even went through social media pages and found nothing. Which is both good and bad, good because that makes it easy to make her and bad because I wonder what happened to her counterpart. From what you told me, everyone has a counterpart, so that makes me wonder what happened to them. Anyways it should only take about a month to create a paper trail that no one will ask questions and only a few days to make adoption papers for her," Chrys said. "That's just what I needed to hear when I can pick them up?" asked Celestia excitedly. "I'll have them done by Tuesday at the latest if I have to deal with something unexpected, but I should have them finished tomorrow at the earliest, but Sunday will probably be when I drop by to give them to you," Chrys said as she laughed at Celestia's excitement. "Oh, I'm so excited, you can stay over, and I'll make your favorite drink with a salmon dinner for you and Luna," Celestia said as her mind ran through ingredients she would need for dinner and the drink. "Y-you mean Changling'love-struck nectar?" Chrysalis asked in a stammering voice. "The very same Chrys." "I'll have it done by tonight, bye Celestia," Chrysalis said as she abruptly hung up. Celestia laughed quietly before pocketing her phone. That was when she realized that she would have to mention this to Sunset, but she was happy for the moment. Until she looked down, and a scowl formed on her face as she looked at the file before her. Grumbling underneath her breath, she began to call Rainbow Dash's parents. "Hello, this is Principal Celestia from Canterlot High. I'm calling about your daughter, Rainbow Dash-" 11:25 am at Canterlot High The day passed with no further incidents as lunch rolled around, except for a rumor that Rainbow Dash got suspended. Microchip, Gilda, and Flash walked to the infirmary to check on Sunset. Nurse Red heart was informed that Sunset felt better when they reached it but didn't feel like returning to class. So she was allowed to use one of the rooms in the library to go through her classwork. So the group made their way to the side rooms and found Sunset in the last one in the far corner. The group sat at a table, and the four of them ate their food. Flash had gathered Sunset's favorite food, including a salad with pickled peppers and hard-boiled eggs and sun-dried tomatoes with chickpeas and mozzarella cheese. As the four of them sat together, they all talked about their interest and found that Gilda and Sunset had quite a bit in common with each other, with Sunset being a street artist and Gilda tagging spots and lines for skaters and parkour runners. As they talked, the group slowly began to forget about anon a miss. Everything was lighthearted until Lighting Dust and her boyfriend, Star Hunter, walked into the room. Immediately, the group tensed, and Gilda sat up straight, using her height to her advantage in hopes of warding the group from the two approaching them. Lightning Dust, however, either didn't notice or completely ignored her as she marched up to Sunset. "Hey, there, Shimmer, how's it going?" Lightning Dust smirked. "What do you want, Lightning Dust?" Flash asked. "I'm not talking to you, loser," Dust shot back. "What do you need, Lightning Dust?" Sunset spoke up. "Straight to the point, huh? Rainbow told me that because of you, she got two weeks of in-school suspension." "Is that so?" "Yea, it is. Not like she didn't deserve it. What kind of idiot goes around bragging about break a school rule to whoever will listen, am I right? And for what? Some pissant coward running around spreading 'secrets' when it wasn't ever a secret that ole Rain always got awful grades and could barely keep a C average, enough for her to play sports." "You don't think I'm Anon-a-miss, do you?" Sunset asked. "Obviously not. You have to be a special kind of dumb to believe goodie-goodie Sunset is that way now. Back around the Fall Formal, sure, I might have suspected you, but not now. You've gone soft. You're not the queen bee of the school now. Even when you were, you only blackmailed the students quietly. You didn't go about spreading all the bull everyone is calling secrets. Hell, you probably still know everyone's dirty secrets. Which is why I know it's not you because if it was, you'd be posting a lot worse shit on that page than Rainbow failing a test or AppleSack rolling around with pigs when she was baby. Plus, ya got nothing to gain by doing this. It wouldn't be smart, and considering you're the smartest girl in school, I can't see you doing this stupid plan" Lightning said. "So, can we sit with you?" Star Hunter asked. "Uh, sure, I don't see why not." The group began to eat, and they found that Lightning was an avid follower of Sunset's alter ego, Flanksy, and was looking into getting into street art. When Sunset offered to take Lightning with the next time she tagged the streets, the girl could barely contain her excitement. They were just about to make plans when the bell signaled the end of lunch. Sunset, feeling more stable, went with Flash, Lightning, and Star to her chemistry class. There was only one class until she had to head home. She figured being in a class with three of five people who believed her, Sunset couldn't see many negative points. After school, Sunset waved goodbye to her friends and went to Principal Celestia's office. She thought about stopping by her locker but decided to against it after the incident this morning. As she walked by the hall leading to her locker, she was relieved she didn't, as the Rainbooms, excluding Rainbow Dash, were all waiting by her locker. Rather quickly, she shot across the hallway opening was thankfully not seen by any of the girls. Sunset practically ran to Celestia's office at that point. When she reached it, she swiftly knocked on the door. "Come in," Celestia said as she looked up to see who she was when she saw Sunset with her back pressed against the door. Celestia smiled at her, "Hi Sunset, how are you? "Besides the fact I just saw my ex-friends at my locker waiting to talk to me, I'm good, I suppose. Um, during Lunch, Lighting Dust, Microchip, Gilda, and Star Hunter became friends with me, I think. At the very least, they do not believe that I am Anon-a-miss, so that's a start. Oh, and of course Flash, um, he doesn't believe that I'm Anon-a-miss either. I was hiding out in the library during lunch, and you won't believe what he did. He remembered my favorite meal from back when we dated. He was always such a dork. I can't believe that he still remembers what I like eating when I'm stressed after all this time. Can you believe it? He's such a good friend," said Sunset with a smile "That's wonderful news, Sunset. I am so glad some students are starting to come to their senses. While I would love to continue talking about this, but right now, I have a meeting with the teachers. You can stay here and do some school work, it won't take long. The meeting should only take half an hour. You can play on your phone or sleep on the couch if you don't have any homework. Oh and don't let me forget that I some things to tell you when we get home. I'll see you in a few, sweetheart," With that, Celestia dipped out of the room. "Good afternoon, everyone. I hope you had a good day. I wish we were discussing less serious of a matter, but it has just recently been brought to my attention that we have a crisis on our hands. For quite some time now, a mystable page has been causing much discord throughout the halls of the school. This page needs to be stopped as it just nearly took the life of one of our students here. We need to discuss what were are going to do about this situation. This needs to be dealt with now before it tries to take any more students from the school. Now, according to what I've gathered, this user appeared four weeks ago and had been doing nearly daily uploads of people's private life. The worst part is that many students follow this user making it difficult to pinpoint who exactly this person is. So we need to start brainstorming on ideas to solve this and quick." The teachers nodded in agreement. "Now, any questions before we start?" Celestia asked. "Yes, I do," Cranky Doodle spoke up. "You mentioned a student trying to take their life. I believe we as teachers should know who it was so that we can keep an eye on them." "...very well. But this doesn't leave the room. Do I make myself clear?" a nod from all the teachers forced Celestia to speak. "The student who tried to kill herself last night was Sunset Shimmer. Due to the actions of this user, much of the blame is being pushed onto her as a scapegoat, and it's, unfortunately, working as many students here believe that the culprit is Sunset, including her group of friends, the Rainboooms." A collective gasp sounded from many teachers and had a few looks at each to make sure they heard correctly. Suddenly the room was filled with teachers talking and asking questions. It was beginning to be overwhelming to Celestia. That was when Celestia lost a hold of her patience, "THAT'S ENOUGH! We have other things to discuss like how to end this." "I'm sorry, Celestia. This can't be easy on you," Cheerilee said softly. "It's not, which is why I want to solve this as quickly as possible. Now let's get started." Author's Note I hope you like this chapter. //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 5:questions and answers part 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 5:questions and answers part 1 The teachers and Celestia were drawing their meeting to a close. The meeting had gone on longer than initially thought, as it was well over an hour after school, and everyone had already left. Luna joined them just as they were reviewing the decisions to be taken in the coming days and weeks until the true culprits were found. Celestia straightened her paper about school procedures and the personal thoughts of the teachers on the matter. The main problem they encountered was that this was the first cyber-bullying experience at CHS, so they had no precedent on how to handle the situation. Thus, the teachers brought forth ideas to limit the bullying, while Celestia researched what other schools did to solve the problem and punish the ones responsibly. "Starting next week, we are going to check the school computers and work to install site limiters. Luna will be in charge of that process. We are going to be patrolling the halls in between classes, and we need to keep an eye on Sunset to avoid an incident like earlier today. As she is the scapegoat and being blamed for all the backlash, Anon-a-miss is causing. We need to make sure she doesn't get jumped by other students. While working on the computer site and watching student activity, Vice-Principal Luna will be watching Rainbow Dash in ISS. I will be dealing with any students found fighting and be patrolling the halls during class. Raven will be taking most of my calls, and I'll be bringing my paperwork home to complete there. Now, does anyone have questions before we depart for home?" Celestia asked. All the teachers looked among each other before they all shook their heads. "Excellent, why don't we all head home for a relaxing weekend? We'll be having a busy and stressful week starting Monday. I hope to see you all Monday morning bright and early," Celestia said, standing up. As they were all leaving, Cheerilee walked up and gave Celestia a hug. "Ciao Celestia, take care," Cherrilee said before she slipped past the door being held by Cranky. After turning off the light, Celestia with Luna, who was currently in a phone call, left the staff room. As Celestia headed to her office, the two split, with Luna going to the library presumably to go to the server room. As she walked down the halls, she saw a few students were still roaming the halls. Upon closer inspection, she noticed most of them were in theatre class, and a few were student council members likely preparing for the school dance on Saturday. On the way to her office, Celestia stopped on her way to open Sunset's locker and grab Sunset's backpack and a couple of books. Once that was done, she began walking to her office, all the while placing the textbooks in Sunset's bag. While walking there, she spotted Flash Sentry walking towards her. As Flash approached, Celestia was still putting books in Sunset's backpack, "Here, Principal Celestia, I have Sunset's notebook and pencils. I realized I still had them when I got home and opened my bag to get a jump on my homework. So I drove back hoping I would miss you or Sunset," Flash handed her the supplies and said waved goodbye before she could properly thank him. "Bye Principal Celestia." "Wai- Flash! That boy, geez, always so quick to please and leaving before anyone express their thanks!" Celestia grumped about Flash as she placed the rest of Sunset's school supplies in the bag. Once she was finished, she saw Rainbow Dash run out the front doors and caught a glimpse of Rainbow met up with the rest of the girls that had saved the school twice, two more than they should have in Celestia's opinion, and watched them leave the school grounds together. Celestia sighed dejectedly, thinking of how much they mattered to Sunset that she felt the need to kill herself when they abandoned her. Though she supposed that the treatment of her fellow students could be as equally to blame for her self-destructive thoughts. Celestia shook her head and, she walked into her office and saw Raven still working. That was a bad habit of Raven's. She refused to leave until Celestia herself left. Celestia sighed exasperatedly before she told Raven that she could leave as she just had to pick up Sunset and her purse from her office. Raven smiled before she told Celestia that she would be here early on Monday before giving Celestia a one-armed hug and walking out the door. When Celestia entered the office, she saw Sunset sleeping on the couch. The in and of itself wasn't what caused her to pause. No, it was the fact that Sunset was sleeping while curled up inside her jacket and using her sweater as a pillow. A small smile broke her face as she pulled her phone to snap a photo. Celestia put her phone away and glanced at the clock showing it was three forty-eight. "Hey, my little ray of sunshine, time to wake up," Celestia said, rubbing her shoulders. "Huh?!" Sunset flinched awake, throwing her coin purse across the room and hitting the bookshelf by the door before she focused on Celestia. "Oh hey Cellsia," Sunset mumbled tiredly. "Hey, sweetheart, let's head home for dinner. I also need to talk to you about something, but it can wait until we get home," Celestia frowned when she saw the cut on Sunset's forehead. Celestia helped the sluggish Sunset put on her jacket and zip it up to make sure Sunset was warm when they exited the building. They spotted Luna on the upper level at the entrance of the library and waved goodbye as they left, who lifted her hand in acknowledgment before returning to her call. Celestia helped Sunset get in her white SUV before she started it and headed home. When they arrived, Celestia parked her car and grabbed Sunset's backpack. Once parked, Celestia looked over at Sunset, who once again dozed off during the drive from the school to Celestia's house. Shaking the girl awake, she helped lead the tired girl inside. Once inside, Celestia put her bag on the console table and hung her keys on the hook. Sunset made it halfway upstairs when Celestia called her down. Grumbling, Sunset turned around made her way to Celestia. Sunset sat next to Celestia when she gestured towards the couch. "Yes, Celestia?" Sunset asked while trying to hide the small amount of concern and worry. "Sunset. First, I'd like to say this is entirely up to you whether you want to or not. However, I must let you know that I've asked for adoption papers to be made for you. I feel a connection with you that I never felt before, and I would like you as a daughter. Second, if you don't want me as your mother, you needn't worry about me kicking you out. You will still be welcome in this house. I will, however, take over as your legal guardian, but only until you're eighteen," Celestia said while trying to keep herself composed, worried that Sunset might feel guilty and agree if she showed too much hope. Sunset was silent for a few moments as she stared at Celestia. She looked away and continued to stay quiet as her eyes flickered around the room. Celestia was about to continue speaking when Sunset broke the silence, "If you to adopt me, that means I can call you mom, right?" "Yes, if you want to call me mother, mom, or whatever you like," Celestia said as a small amount of hope leaked into her voice. Sunset once again went quiet before she stood up and turned away from Celestia. Celestia grew worried and stood as well. Celestia didn't think she would have such an adverse reaction and wondered if she pushed too fast. She was worried that Sunset would leave and disappear. Tears began to gather at the edge of her eyes. She reached for Sunset but was suddenly hit in the chest. After regaining her breath, she looked down to see a crying Sunset in her arms hugging her. "Thank you. This is all I ever wanted!" Sunset cried out. "Don't thank me. But Sunset, I want to know something," said Celestia releasing Sunset and putting a hand on her shoulder. "What is it?" Sunset asked between sniffles. "Can you tell me a little about your past?" Celestia asked. She felt Sunset tense slightly. Sunset was silent for a long time before she began quietly, "Well, in my world, I didn't know my biological parents. I was adopted by an elder couple because they couldn't have a baby. But when I was three years old, my adoptive parents died. My papa was Light Bright, and my mama was Soft Wind. It was a train accident. A landslide derailed the train. They were flung through the window and killed on impact. Even if they would've survived being flung, ponies found them crushed underneath a train cart. I suppose I should be happy they didn't suffer. After that, it took me a year to be adopted." "It was a few weeks after my fourth birthday. I was taken in by a couple who were anything but ideal. Father was a Pegasus, he didn't hit me unless I did something wrong, but he didn't need to hit me to get what he wanted. He would gather clouds and turn them into storm clouds and make them shoot lightning at me. He never hit me with a bolt because it would cause scars, and I was just entering school. It traumatized me, and I still fear lightning or storm clouds to this day. Mother was an earth pony and far more rugged in her disciplining. She would beat me if I didn't understand something about my task. She was clever, though, always hitting me in the most common places for young ponies to get bumps or scraps. I felt more like a maid than a daughter with them." "One day, my luck changed, for the better? I honestly don't know, considering what happens later. Anyways, I burned the house down by accident. I didn't have control over my magic. I was just so tired of them hurting me. I remember getting mad, and suddenly everything was ablaze. They died in roaring flames while I was untouched while the house crumbled around me. The fire lashed out at anything that could've hurt me. It was my fault. It wasn't until a year that I met your counterpart, Princess Celestia. During that time, I was passed through one foster house after another before I was taken in my by an old noble family whose ancestor was Princess Platnium. They were strict but taught me how to control my magic. It was at a gala that I met Princess Celestia. While I was there, she was impressed when I stopped a fire when one of the servers tripped, and a flamming kabob caught a window drape on fire. The noble thought I started the fire and kicked me out. That's when the Princess took me under her tutelage." "As I said, she was impressed and kinda became my foster parent, but was mostly while I lived with her she was my teacher first and foremost. We got along great at the start. I was her student, and she was my teacher. I remember the day it all happened. I had called her mom, she chided me, saying I wasn't her daughter and that I could cause her problem with the nobles if I made that mistake again. I was a little embarrassed, but we moved on like nothing had happened. The next day she canceled our lessons, and the day after that, she became so cold it still hurts cause I don't know why our relationship changes so much." "Then she began to spend more and more time with Cadence. What were once lectures and lessons taught by the Princess became a list of subjects I needed to learn by the end of the week. Not only that, but she wanted me to make friends, but when I told her how difficult it was for me, she only told me to try harder. After a while, she ignored me and my struggles. Sometimes I still wonder why she couldn't love me or show that she loved me when she could show Cadence love. I still don't understand because I know she did love me. I know she did. So, what changed? What did I do that caused her to hate me? I don't think I ever will." "Anyway, one day, she just showed up and told me to follow her. I might have been starved for attention at that point and didn't think of her sudden reappearance in my life. I happily followed her to a room where she showed me the mirror. I saw a destiny that was not mine, but I thought it was. And the rest was history as I learned of its true nature. I didn't think she monitored me anymore, so I snuck into the restricted section and was chased out by her when she confronted me. I hated her, the way she treated me, and in my anger and hate, I beat up the guards escorting me and fled to the world on the other side of the mirror," Sunset said somewhat numbly. "Honey, you been through so much, and yes, you went down a dark road for a while, but look at how far you've come. You changed into a little ray of sunshine, and I promise everything will return to normal. I will be with you every step of the way," Celestia said while hugging Sunset and tears from her face giving her a motherly kiss on the top of the head. "Mhm," Sunset said, as that was all she could manage at the moment. The two were silent for a moment as they just basked in each other's presence. Celestia was having a hard time processing everything that Sunset went through. She swore that she wouldn't ever abandon Sunset. Sunset needed her just as much as she needed Sunset. They were kindred spirits, the two of them. Her heartache was almost the same as Sunsets. "Not to rain on our parade, but I want to check on your injuries. So how about we go to my room, okay?" Celestia asked. "Okay, Cele-mom," said Sunset, testing the waters. Celestia smiled, "Come on, let's get you checked up, my little sun," Celestia said, accepting and establishing her newfound position as a mother. Celestia took Sunset into her room, sat her on the bed, and closed the curtains and door for more privacy. "Now, Sunny, I'm going to take your clothes off. I'm going to change your bandages and see if we can't do something about that cut on your head," Celestia said as she took out a first aid kit and bandages. "Okay," said Sunset. Celestia took off his jacket and shirt, took off his bra, and began to remove the bandages. The wounds were healing and looking much better than they were before. After cleaning the wounds and rewrapping the gauze, Celestia redressed Sunset starting with a bra, her shirt and finishing off with her jacket. "Well, now I'm going to take your pants off and your boots, okay?" Celestia asked. Sunset nodded. Celestia pulled her pants down, and he could see that she had a small rug burn on her left knee and bruising on both of her knees. "Sunset, there's not much I can do with your knees. Are you going to be okay?" Celestia asked. "I'll be fine," Sunset said. She helped Sunset pull up her pants and tied her bootlaces before hugging her and stroking her hair. "Thank you for helping me," Sunset said as she sobbed. "You're welcome, Sunset. Let everything out. I know it's been a long day," Celestia continued stroking Sunset's hair until she realized that the girl fell asleep in her arms. Celestia smiled at her understanding that she was probably after the day she had. She covered her with the pastel-colored sheets on her bed and gave her a kiss on the forehead, and went downstairs to make dinner. When she got to the kitchen, Celestia started to prepare stir-fry rice with chicken cooked on the side so Sunset could choose whether she wanted it or not. As the rice cooked, she fished her phone out of her jacket pocket and hit the call button. It ringed three times before it was answered, "Chrysalis speaking." "Hey, Chrys." "Oh, Tia! How are you? Are you calling about the adoption papers? Well, you'll be happy to know I just finished them. I was about to leave to pick up Luna before coming over." "Actually, we just had a breakthrough. To be frank, both me and Sunset are exhausted, and I would like some time to process what I've just learned. How about you come tomorrow night. I'll cook all your favorites and your drink as an apology." "No, no, that's cool. Not gonna lie. I should probably head to catch up on some rest too." "Thank you for understanding, Chrys. I'll see you and Luna tomorrow." "Totally wouldn't miss it for the world." "Love ya, Chrys." "I see ya later, Tia," Chrysalis said before she hung up. Celestia frowned, "She needs to stop blaming herself. I never blamed her for what happened. She'll only say love you to Luna now." Celestia sighed before focusing on dinner. When it was ready, she turned off the stove, served the food on two plates, took a pitcher of iced tea out of the refrigerator, and put it on the table. She proceeded to set the rest of the table before going up to wake the slumbering Sunset. "Sunset dinner is ready," Celestia rubbed her cheek. "Okay, Mom," Sunset groggily, as she hugged Celestia, and Celestia hugged her back. With Celesti helping her along, Sunset got up and made her way down the stairs with Celestia. When she saw the food, she eagerly sat at the table and began to eat. After she finished eating, she helped Celestia lift things off the table. Celestia put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. "Mom, are you busy?" Asked Sunset "No, honey, what do you need?" Asked Celestia "Well, I have history homework, but I don't understand, and well ... it's just that," Sunset said bashfully. "Do you want me to help you do your homework?" Celestia guessed "Well, if you're not too busy to help a little," Sunset lowered her head in shame. "I can help, but how about we do that tomorrow morning after a good night's sleep?" Celestia asked before adding, "You seem to be really tired, and you slept a good part of the day." "Um, okay, if you don't mind, I'm going to head up first." "Of course not, have a good night's sleep, my little sun." "Night," Sunset called before heading upstairs. Celestia wrapped up the dishes quickly. Before she headed upstairs. She went to her room and changed into her pajamas. As she did, she looked at a box in her closet. Walking up to the box, she laid her hand before a quiet and hoarse whisper came from Celestia. "I'll make you proud. Look over me as I raise her." With that, she walked over to Sunset's room and peeked inside to see Sunset sleeping peacefully. She thought about going in and giving her a kiss but didn't want to wake the girl, so she went to her room and turned off the light before she crawled into her bed. //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 6:questions and answers part 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 6:questions and answers part 2 It was two in the morning when soft plinks of snow against glass could be heard. It wasn't long before the minor storm became an intense blizzard. It was probably thirty minutes into the storm when the sounds of thunder could be heard. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but as the minutes passed, the intensity of the storm grew until banging thunder sounded above a certain house in the mountains in the city of Canterlot. "Ahhhhh, Mom!!!" Sunset screamed, in an almost blood-curdling scream "Huh? Sunset?" Celestia thought as she tripped while leaving her bed because of the blankets wrapped around her leg. She struggled with removing the blankets as she heard Sunset's frightened cries. Once finally free, she made her way to her Sunsets room. "Sunset!" Celestia said as she stormed into the room. "Mommy," Sunset cried, who was in the corner of her room. She trembled with her arms around her legs as she rocked back and forth. "Shhh, mommy is here for you, sweetheart," Celestia hugged Sunset and began stroking Sunset's hair. It took a while, but eventually, Sunset began to calm down. However, she didn't dare to go back to sleep. "Sunset, I know you're too scared to sleep, but you are going to need it, and it's late. So how about you come and sleep in my room for tonight?" Celestia asked as she began to rub Sunset's back in a comforting manner. Sunset was quiet for a few seconds before another flash of lightning came and along with it the thunder. Causing Sunset to frantically nods her head. Celestia helped Sunset get off the floor and led her back to her room when the sound of another rolling thunder made its way through the house. It was strong enough that Celestia would've sworn she felt the house shake. "Sorry for waking you up and interrupting your sleep," Sunset said as she laid with her back to Celestia. "Sunset, never be sorry about something like this. Your safety comes first. I'd gladly give up an entire night's sleep so long as I knew you were safe," Celestia said as she comforted Sunset. Celestia worried about Sunset's fear, so she brought her close to her in a motherly embrace. Celestia was the first to wake up at nine in the morning. Grogglingly she looked around before a smile broke her face as she saw Sunset sleeping peacefully. A quick glance out the window showed that the storm had passed and now was just lightly flurrying. Celestia yawned as she wiggled her way out of Sunset's hug and proceeded to get ready for the day. Celestia grabbed a towel and went to take a hot shower but not before choosing an outfit for the day and laying it on the bathroom counter. She finished wringing out her hair and proceeded to comb it while she blowdried it. Once her hair was dry, she moved to get dressed for the day. She put on light purple winter pants, a light blue long-sleeved shirt, a light blue jacket, and black sneakers. She did some light make-up before walking out of the bathroom to see Sunset still asleep. Celestia let Sunset sleep a bit longer while she made pancakes and two cups of freshly squeezed orange juice, a cup of coffee for her, and a cup of milk for Sunset. Once done with making pancakes, Celestia climbed the stairs and went to Sunset. She walked towards Sunset and sat on the edge of her bed. "Good morning, Sunset. Time to wake up," Celestia said as she gave her a kiss on the cheek. Sunset yawned as she looked around sluggishly before stretching with a satisfied groan, "Hughhhmmh, Good morning, mom." "Pfft! Come along now. I'll help you take a bath," said Celestia with a smile. Celestia took Sunset to the bathroom and began to bathe her, gently scrubbing her wounds before helping her dry. For Sunset, it no longer made her uncomfortable to have Celestia help her with what she couldn't do on her own. After she covered herself with a towel, Celestia lent her some clothes. The clothes included a dark blue jacket, a green shirt, and light blue pants. Sunset dried her hair and scrunched her hair, then she made her way downstairs for breakfast. Sunset caught Celestia staring at her as they ate but decided not to comment on it for fear of annoying Celestia. After breakfast, Celestia told Sunset about her plans, "Sunset, I have some things planned for today. First, we will go shopping. You really need your own winter clothes. Along with clothes I want to get you a desk for school. We'll also pick out some new bedsheets for you. I'd like to change the color of your room to something you'll like, among other things," Celestia finished. "I don't think it is necessary to go shopping," Sunset protested "Honey, you need your own clothes, bedsheets that you like, and you need somewhere to do your homework to keep it all in one place. You need new footwear. Your boots look ready to fall apart on you. They can't be warm. Let me do this as your mom ago. I know you're independent but let me spoil my new daughter, okay?" Celestia asked. "Alright," Sunset said with a small sigh. "Let me grab my bag, then we'll go," Celestia said gently. Canterlot mall was just as crowded, if not more so, because of the holidays. Celestia took her first to buy clothes. Sunset bought her sweatshirts, long pants, hats, gloves, and comfy slippers. They picked a couple of packets of underwear packets, though what they looked like of the choice of what they looked like was up to Sunset. They stopped off at a shoe store, where they picked a new pair of shoes and boots. In addition to warm slippers and clothes, they picked up scarves, shampoo, conditioner, a sponge for her. They had an early lunch at eleven at an Italian restaurant. Celestia ordered a pizza, and Sunset ordered noodles with alfredo sauce. "Sunset, you okay if we continue this shopping trip?" Celestia asked while she cleaned her fingers with a napkin. "Uh, shure," Sunset said through a mouthful of noodles. After lunch, instead of preplanned shopping like they had before their lunch, they went on a more sporadic and window hopping experience of shopping. "Sunset, do you like stuffed animals?" Celestia asked, pointing at a nearby window. "I mean stuffed animals can be cute," Sunset said carefully. "Well, my little sun, let's buy a stuffed animal. There is no reason to be ashamed of liking stuffed animals. Even I have a couple of stuffed animals packed away in storage," Celestia said with a chuckle. "That was an awful pun, Cel- mom," Sunset said with a groan. It wasn't long until Sunset and Celestia emerged from the store with a brown paper bag. It totally wasn't to hide the fact the Sunset was walking around with a stuffed animal. She bought a blue bear, a fox, and a penguin. Before they left that wind of the store, Celestia had one last shop to visit that was planned upon. There they bought some nice furniture for an affordable price. They bought a desk, a nightstand, a red lamp, a small television, an office chair, red sheets with orange, a picture illustrating an endless sunrise and sunset simultaneously. Then Celestia took her to a technology store and bought her a computer and a new cell phone. Once home, Sunset and Celestia repainted her room. As they waited for the paint to dry, the two made the furniture outsides the room. Celestia went about rewashing all of Sunset's clothes and sheets. After building all the furniture, they went downstairs to set up the electronics. After setting up Sunset's phone and computer, she grabbed the stuffed animals and went to relax on the couch. That's when Sunset remembered her homework and ran upstairs to grab it. She shyly showed the book to Celestia. This caused Celestia to smile before she spoke, "Let's get to work, shall we?" Celestia said, hugging Sunset. Celestia took Sunset to the study room and began to explain her homework. After an hour, Sunset finally finished her homework with the help of Celestia. Sunset placed her papers in her backpack, then she collapsed on the couch. She browsed through Netflix and put a movie on while Celestia watched along with her. The movie was close to finishing when Celestia glanced at her phone and realized that it was getting rather late and still had yet to received a call from Luna. "Sunset, I have to make a call. It will be short. I'll be back," Celestia informed Sunset, who just nodded as she was captivated by the movie that was playing. Celestia walked to the kitchen and phoned Chrysalis. It rang three times before it was answered by a cheerful Chrysalis. "Hi Chrys, are you still coming over?" Celestia asked. "Yea, me and Luna are coming over to your house in about half an hour. Did you tell the kid your plans to adopt her?" Chrysalis asked. "Yes, I told her. She was very happy when I told her. She also told me a little about her past last night. It's very traumatic, and I'm surprised by how strong she's been, and it explains her rather rough treatment of her fellow schoolmates in the past. Right now, me and Sunset are watching a movie," Celestia explained. "Sounds like me and her will get along great. I let you get back to your kid. I know you've always wanted one. We'll be there soon," Chrysalis said before she hung up. Celestia was quiet before she pocketed her phone and walked back to the living room. Celestia smiled when she watched Sunset from behind as the girl watched the movie. After a while, Celestia took Sunset to help her make dinner. Celestia made the sauce while Sunset brought the spice bottles over to her. Celestia finished adding the spices to the meat for Luna and Chris's favorite dinner, which was spaghetti. Before making a second sauce for Sunset and herself, which was vegetarian friendly. As the sauces simmered, Celestia got to work on Chrysalis and Luna's favorite drink, Changling Love Nectar. She started out by rubbing the inside of a lime wedge along the top of the two cups before she dipped the cups in pink Himalayan salt. She added a blue curacao to each cup before pouring lime juice in along with the blue mixture. She threw in some fresh mint leaves and mixed the two together. She then began filling the cups up with ice to about three-quarters of the way full and then added a blue cocktail mixture to about half full. Thus creating a blue gradient from dark blue to sky blue. After lightly mixing the two together, Celestia added a green cocktail mixture, to which she placed two blueberries and a single blackberry in each drink. "I didn't know you could make drinks," Sunset commented. "Back in college to help pay rent and to have some extra spending money, I use to work as a bartender. That's how I met Chrysalis before she joined the armed forces. She was going to psychology but figured that it would help pay for school if she joined the military. She ultimately became a social worker at the government agency here in Canterlot." "Sounds like she will have some interesting stories about her time as a soldier," Sunset said with interest in her voice that caused Celestia to worry. "I would advise against that Sunset. Chrysalis is very touchy about her time in service. She received a purple heart and a medal of honor on the same mission before being honorably discharged from the armed forces. Please don't ask her about her time. She still has moments of PTSD." "Sorry," Sunset said as she looked down. "It's fine, sweetheart, you didn't know. She is just really sensitive about her time in the armed forces. I know you won't mean to but try not to stare at her scars." "Scars?" "Yes. Now, how about you and me change while we wait for the sauces to get ready?" "Okay," Sunset said as her mind danced with what type of scar Chrysalis had. Celestia led Sunset upstairs so they could change their clothes. Once in her room, where they put Sunset clothes while her room's paint dried, Celestia took off Sunset's shirt and put on a light blue short-sleeved shirt. Her sweat pants were changed for one navy blue, and her jacket was changed for a yellow jogger jacket. Once she dressed Sunset, Celestia went to her closet and change her clothes for more formal clothes than her sweats. She changed her purple pants for light blue pants, the high-heeled shoe for white sports shoes. Her purple and white striped shirt was changed for a yellow and blue nebula shirt with a light tan jacket. When Luna and Chrysalis arrived, it was seven o'clock. Together Sunset and Celestia opened the door to see two people standing there. Luna was easy for Sunset to recognize with black pants, a dark blue shirt, a plum jacket, and dark purple sneakers. On the other hand, Chrysalis wore a royal blue dress shirt with black pants, dark blue sneakers, and a black business jacket. Sunset knew that Celestia said not to stare at the scars, but it was hard not to look at them, at least the ones on her face. Miniature healed cuts danced all over her face, and small discolored blotches dusted her face. From the looks of it, her eyes, nose, and mouth came out unscathed. Her ears were scared and jagged to a sharp point. They looked similar to an elf in a movie Pinkie once showed her. Despite the apparent imperfections on her face, Sunset found the scar fit her. It gave her a certain amount of pressure, one that couldn't be ignored. She controlled the room, much like Celestia did when she came into a room unannounced. After receiving a hug from Celestia, Chrysalis locked eyes with Sunset and walked up to her. Sunset froze up as Chrysalis looked her over. Sunset watched her graze move from her feet to her uncovered wrist, showing the bandages. A small look of hurt and understanding hit Sunset like a ton of bricks. "So your the squirt Mama bear Celly adopted?" Chrysalis asked. Sunset only nodded, annoyed about being called squirt. Chrysalis was silent for a moment before, letting out a roaring laugh, "I think we'll get along just fine." She laughed as she popped into the kitchen. Sunset looked at Luna and Celestia with a questioning look. Luna smiled fondly at Chrysalis before saying, "You'll get used to it, Sunset. Now, how about I get you into a show I really think you'll like?" Luna led Sunset to the living room to introduce her to a show Luna swore she would be invested in on the first episode. The two crashed on the couch while Chrysalis came out of the kitchen with her drink. Together with Celestia and Chrysalis went to talk in Celestia's study. "You made mine and Luna's favorite drink and dinner. You didn't have to do that, you know," said Chris with a smile "Yes, I did. You finished the adoption papers," Celestia "It was the least I could do," Chrysalis said as she stared at her drink. Her hand trembled slightly as her eyes took on a thousand-yard stare. "You know I never blamed you, right?" Celestia asked as she laid her hand gently on Chrysalis' shoulder. Choosing to ignore the slight flinch from the other woman. "I know. That doesn't mean I don't blame myself," Chrysalis said, and they were quiet for a moment before she spoke up again. "But we're not here for the past. We're here to celebrate your new daughter. Here, they are all ready for you just need you and Sunset to sign them," said Chris handing the papers to Celestia. "Thank you," Celestia said as she put them on her desk and giving the other woman a hug. "It wasn't all that hard." "It doesn't matter. To me, it's priceless. Let go see how much of a bad influence Luna is on Sunset," Celestia said as she released Chrysalis from her hug. They both went to the kitchen after setting the table and serving it. The two called Sunset and Luna for dinner. "Sunset, does each of us have a counterpart in your world?" Chrysalis asked. "Not exactly. There are a lot of people who have counterparts, but the main problem is that there are way more people here than on the other side of the portal. Even adding up creatures from other races, the number doesn't come near the number of people on this side of the portal." "That must be why there isn't a human Sunset in this world," Chrysalis hypothesized. "Most likely," Sunset agreed. After dinner and a general conversation of Sunset meeting everyone outside of their work environment, mostly Luna and Celestia, and getting to know Chrysalis, Luna, and Chrysalis went home for the night. As luck would have it, they lived fairly close and thus didn't need to find a way home, considering both had multiple drinks that night. The two walked home, with Luna promising to pick her car up in the morning. After seeing them off, Celestia went to talk to Sunset, who was in the library. "Honey, Chrysalis made the adoption papers, and all we have to do is sign them. Are you ready?" Celestia asked. "Yes, I am, mom," Sunset said as she signed the papers in flowing cursive. Together Sunset and Celestia went through the papers and signed them. Once they were all signed, Celestia placed the documents in a safe. Smiling once the door locked, Celestia pulled a teary-eyed Sunset into her embrace as her own tears began to wet her face. //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 7: protective relationships //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 7: protective relationships Monday, December 15, it was 1 p.m. It was lunchtime when Sunset went to her locker, She was feeling much happier than she was then the last few days mostly thanks to her new Mom Celestia. She silently giggled happliy as she was very happy her life long dream of having a mother again finally came true. She felt for sure thing would finally start getting better for her now that Celestia and Luna had her back. But then Just as she took her books and supplies and was about close her locker an orange hand slammed it closed causing her to yelp, "Ah! What the-?!" "What's so funny?" An angry voice southern voice said. Sunset trembled and turned to see her ex-friends standing right behind her looking very angry or at least Applejack, Rarity and Pinkie were. Fluttershy on the other hand was at the far back looking a little unsure. "H-hey girls, is there something I can do-" Sunset tried to say before Applejack grabbed her by the jacket with one hand and shouted. "Shut it bitch, The only thing you can tell is what did you frame Rainbow of to get her in ISS?" Sunset's eye widened as she was talking about. "No wait you don't understand! Rainbow is in ISS because she-" "Be Silent you ruffian!" Rarity yelled getting in Sunset's face scaring her. "She told it was because of you that she's in trouble because of you! So it's obvious you posted something on Anon-a-Miss that got her in ISS." "Girls please, you have to believe me I'm not Anon-a-Miss." Sunset pleaded as Applejack pushed against the lockers. "Um maybe we should try hearing her out-" Fluttershy tried to say only for Pinkie to interrupt. "Just stop lying already Secret stealer! We aren't listen to anything you say!" She retorted to Sunset who was looking even more scared "It just goes to show an evil bitch like you can never change!" Rarity added as Sunset began whimpering and her eyes started forming tears. Applejack saw this and mocked, "Oh so the She-Demon thinks Shedding Crocodile Tears is gonna stop her from getting what she deserves?!" She yelled as reeled her fist back, "Well I got your answer right here!" Sunset eyes widen before they closed tightly as braced herself for the punch. That is until... "ENOUGH!" An angry voice yelled out across the hallway, one they all knew too well, the five girls paled and turned around to see a very angry Principal Celestia marching right towards them and turned her glare to the cowgirl women handling her daughter. "Applejack, I strongly advise you to let Sunset Go or You'll be sharing Rainbow Dash's Punishment." Celestia said in a stern voice that shook the girls right to the core while Applejack felt like the woman's eyes were shooting at her with the heat of the Sun itself. "B-but Mrs. Celestia, Sunset Shimmer she-" Applejack tried to say until Celestia's glare intensified making her feel really small and let go of Sunset jacket back off from her. Celestia then walked over to Sunset and gripped her shoulders. They were having a quiet conversation that the girls couldn't hear but they clearly heard Celestia ask "Are you ok?" and Sunset replied, with a "Yes I'm fine-" but the last word they couldn't hear. Once they were done Celestia turned back to girls and as she glared walked towards them they backed away slowly as if they were afraid of her. "Listen girls I'm going to say this once and only once: Even if Sunset Shimmer was the one behind Anon-a-Miss-Which she is not-I will not tolerate harassment or violence in MY School! So I strongly suggest that unless you want all want share Mrs. Dash in ISS which she herself got herself into by locking Mrs. Shimmer in her own locker I suggest you all head to the cafeteria for Lunch, NOW!!" She shouted with the 'NOW' echoing arcoss the hallway. The four girls were now huddled together, terrifed at they're very angry Principal as well shocked to learn that Rainbow was in ISS because she locked Sunset in her own Locker. They then nodded frantically, before saying, "Yes Mrs. Celestia!" And then zooming down the hallway to the cafeteria. Celestia watched as they disappeared down the hall before she exhaled tiredly, she then heard light sobbing and turning to see Sunset sitting on the floor and leaning against the lockers, hugging herself and softly crying. Celestia then made a sad face before walking over to her daughter, kneeling down and hugging her firmly but gently, rocking slowly back and forth she brushed her gently with her right hand fingers and rubbed her back with her left, and shushed her, whispering into her ear, "Shh, shh. It's okay my little Sunshine. Mommy's here, mommy's got you." She said soothingly. Sunset whimpered as she tried to relax feeling her mother's hands wrap around her and inhaled her sunflower perfume, making her feel safe. After a few seconds she was able to speak again, "Th-thank you mom. I was so scared. If-if you hadn't shown up Applejack was about to-" Celestia tighten the hug stopping Sunset from finishing. "But she didn't I won't let anyone hurt you Sunset. I promise, no I swear to you, no harm will ever come to you." Celestia said firmly. She had already lost so many other people she cared about, and she wasn't about let Sunset join that list. She felt Sunset smile into her chest and hugged her back, "Thank you." The girl mumbled and Celestia smiled and continued the hug. After 6 more minutes, Celestia stood herself and Sunset back up. She gave the red and yellow haired girl a kiss on the forehead and spoke, "Sunset how about you have Lunch in my office. I don't think it would be safe for you to be around so many other students without a teacher around, especially after that little stunt your friends just did." Sunset was about to rebut before she thought about her situation again and nodded. Celestia smiled and held her at her by her side as they walked toward her Office. Celestia opened the door, and Sunset sat down on the chair. She felt guilty that her mom had to go through so much trouble during her work just to help her, she turned to the woman who was walking back to her desk and said, "Mom I'm sorry you have to waste your time making sure im sa-" Celestia stopped her by finger to her lips, "Ah-bahp-bahp-bahp! I don't want hear it miss. Shimmer." She then gave Sunset a soft smile before continuing, "I'm no longer just your principal, I'm your mother now too. Your safety is and always will be my number one concern." Sunset gave a watery but grateful smile and was about to say thank you when they both heard a knock at the door. The two turned to each other in concern before they heard a second round of knocking. Celestia gave an expression to her daughter telling her to stay behind her incase it was student who want to pull a stunt on her. Sunset nodded and stayed her chair while Celestia walked over to the door and opened. "Yes? Can I help y-" She said before she saw exactly who it was at the door. "Um, hi?" Fluttershy said with a nervous smile and tray with two salads, bread rolls and chocolate milk cartens. Celestia then gave the timid girl and a rised brow and from as Sunset looked at her with fear and sunk into her chair "What are you doing here Fluttershy?" asked Celestia bluntly as Fluttershy shifted her feet and tried to not make eye contact. "I'm, I'm not here to cause trouble I'm just here to give Sunset some lunch." Fluttershy explained gesturing to the food tray she was holding. Celestia looked surprised that Fluttershy was doing something nice for sunset after thinking for so long that she was Anon-a-miss, Fluttershy then looked down in shame before continuing "You see I, never really believed that Sunset was Anon-a-miss. It just seemed so random and obivious for her to do even back in her bully days but my friends were so convinced that it was Sunset and asked me if I believed it too, that I was afraid that, that if-if I said anything against what they were saying they-they would think I was in on it and w-would hate me and, and," Fluttershy struggled to continued as she tears forming in her eyes and was overflowing with guilt and shame for not standing beside Sunset when she needed her while her food tray was shaking. Celestia stared at the girl sympathetically who had not gone against Sunset because she truly believed she was guilty but because she was scared and pressured by her friends, While Sunset felt sorry for Fluttershy as she knew how much the girl hated confrontations. She then stood up and walked over to her mother and friend as the latter continued, "So th-that why when the girls weren't looking, I, I bought some from the cafeteria and came here to give to Sunset since I thought she would be hungry and I h-h-hoped that she f-find it her heart forgive-." She stopped when she felt a hand on her shoulder she then turned her teary and scared gaze to Sunset who gave her a smile and nodded, "Of course I forgive you." That did it. Fluttershy bit her lip and nearly dropped the tray until Celestia caught it as the two girls hugged each other with Fluttershy muttering "Thank you's" and "I'm sorry's" over and over again through her tears of relief and guilt and Sunset rubbed her back while tearing up slightly too but with tears of happiness, feeling overjoyed to have one of her friends back with her. Celestia smiled at the two teens, feeling happy that at least one of the girls had realized the truth and Sunset had a friend once again. After a few minute Fluttershy had drained out her tears and the two held hands, Celestia then spoke up smiling at the Shy girl, "Well Fluttershy after that display I'd like to allow to eat with me and my daughter this lunch period." Fluttershy nodded happily, more than okay with eating her friend and her, "Wait did you say 'daughter'?!" She gasped looking inbetween Sunset and Celestia. Sunset rubbed the back of her head sheepishly and Celestia merely gave an amused smiled and placed a hand on the former's shoulder, "Heh, heh. It a long story." Sunset explained to Fluttershy how Celestia found her, how she adopted her and how she took care of her, after that Fluttershy left the office but of course when they finished they're lunch and Fluttershy swore she wouldn't tell anyone anything about what she was told, especially the other girls. After She left her mother's office Sunset entered the library and saw Flash waiting for her behind a bookcase far from the sight of the students that were still exiting the room. Sunset snuck over to him and they both went over to a table. "Hey Sunset" said Flash as they sat down. "Hi Flash, how are you? Sunset asked him. Ever since the locker incident Flash had been one of the only people in the school Sunset actually felt safe around, she often asked herself why she ever faked dating this young man. "Doing just fine and you?" He asked back, Sunset wanted to lie and say she was fine but she knew Flash would catch her, so she decided to tell him the truth, "Honestly, I've been better. My friends attacked by my locker cause they thought I was the reason Rainbow got into trouble. Applejack almost punched me if Principal Celestia hadn't shown up when she did. She then scared them off and let have lunch in her office and then Fluttershy came in and told me that she believed I was innocent and I forgave after that we had lunch and now we're here." Flash gave a low whistle, "sounds like you had quite a day." "You don't know the half of it." She mumbled, Flash noticed this and wrapped an arm around her. She smiled at him and leaned in closer, 'He's so thoughtful. Twilight definitely has good taste' She thought feeling very comfortable in Flash's embrace. Flash then looked down at her, "Say how about we turn this day around by heading over to music room? There's something I wanna show you." He offered, Sunset raised a brow and asked, "What is it?" Flash just winked and walked pasted her, "Follow me and you'll find out." Sunset decided to humor him and followed him out of the library, down the hallway and into the music room. Sunset sat on the steps while Flash slung his Guitar over himself and sat next to her, "I made this escially for you. Figured it might help ease any anxiety you have." (Play your favorite Guitar Soloist Love song) Flash Then began singing Sunset the most beautiful song she ever while playing on his guitar. As he strums the strings, Sunset looks at him with wide eyes, she never realized what an amazing voice Flash places a hand over heart as she closes her eyes as she heard every note of the song. Once he finishes Sunset gave him small smile, "That was Beautiful Flash, thank you." Flash smiled back, "Hey anything for you Sunset." "Really?" She asked in honest surprise. Flash nodded, "Really, I know you I have had a pretty checkered history with each other but dispite that I've always felt that deep down you were a good person." As he talked he then took Sunset's hand and continued, "I know that whoever Anon-a-Miss is has made things difficult for you but I want you to know that's ready and willing to do whatever I can to prove you are innocent. That is more than a Pinkie Promise that is a Sentry Swear!" He finished as he remembered that Sentry Swear was a sacred oath in his family that could and would not be broken. Sunset though stunned by Flash's speeched gave him a warm, teary smile and hugged Flash tightly, sniffling into his jacket, "Thank you Flash, I really don't know what I do without you." She thanked him and Flash hugged her back. "Anything for a friend." They stayed like this for a few minutes before they broke the hug and stood up. Sunset grabbed her back, "Well it's almost time to go, so I'll see you tomorrow Flash." Sunset said before turning to leave. But just before Sunset was about to walk out the door, Flash spoked "Hey Sunset?" She turned to look at him as he steadied his nerves, "I just wanted to know if, you had and plans for tomorrow afternoon?" Sunset thought for second before shaking her head, "Not really. Why?" This was it. The moment Flash was waiting for, he took a deep breath in and then out before saying with all the confidence he could muster, " I was wondering if you like to check out this new café that opened nearby my house with me." Sunset blushed as she had a crazy idea about what that meant and then asked "Y-you mean, like-like a, d-date?" Flash blushed profoundly at the mention of the D-word, while rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish smile and nod, "Y-yeah a-a date. But if you rather not then that just fine and-" but before he could finish, Sunset walked over to him and gave a kiss on this cheek, saying "I would love that Flash. Pick me up at five" After waving goodbye to the still stunned Flash Sunset walked out of the room with a bright smile on her face, looking forward to tomorrow, She now had a second chance with Flash and she wasn't gonna waste it. Meanwhile Flash finally managed to register what just happened and jumped up and down triumphally saying, "WOO-HOO!" He was looking very forward to tomorrow. Author's Note thanks to my friend harrybuilder for helping me with this chapter //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 2: first night //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 2: first night Celestia noticed that Sunset was shaking like a leaf, so she tried to reassure her. "Sunset, I'm not mad at you; I'm mad at myself for allowing you to get to this point. I'm more concerned about your well-being. Are these scars from-?" Celestia cut herself off, already knowing that answer so focused on more pressing matters. "The scars on your back are heavily bruised, and you have a small cut on your back. They look like they might become infected. How much pain are you experiencing on level of one ten?" Celestia asked as she placed a hand on Sunset's shoulder with a look of concern. Sunset noticed blood flowing down her arm. Thankfully, the bleeding wasn't heavy enough, which Sunset knew was from the cold, to catch Celestia's attention just yet, but Sunset was becoming nervous. Sunset noticed that Celestia was starting to look towards her arms and was worried she would see the cut and made a subtle attempt to hide her arms. She slowly tried to hide the cuts on her arms by hiding them on the side of her legs, but Celestia noticed the movement. "Sunset show me your arms please," Celestia said seriously. "I-I can't," said Sunset looking down. She gripped her legs in absolute terror, her knuckles turning white from the force she was holding her legs. If it wasn't for her pants, she did not doubt that she would've broken through her skin. "Sunset, I won't hurt you. I promise I just want to help you," Celestia said softly. "N-no no," Sunset trembled. She could feel the cold and biting spikes of a panic attack. Her breath hitched when she felt a hand on her knees. "Sunset, whatever it is your finding on your arms, it will never change the way I see you. You will still be the same girl that ranks levels above your peers. The same girl that nearly has a 4.0 in all of her honor classes. I need you to calm down and show me your arms. Please? I just want to help you. Will you let me?" Sunset's eyes were locked on Celestia's hand, with one thought on her mind. When was the last time anyone really cared, as Celestia seems to? Sunset couldn't remember the last time any adult figure seemed to care about her generally. Sunset thought that Princess Celestia loved her or at least cared for her. But she was so easily replaced twice, once by Cadence and once by Twilight. That was when she knew that Celestia never cared for her. Princess Celestia only thought of her as her pawn. No, that couldn't be right. That was old Sunset talking. Old Sunset was just an ungrateful brat that betrayed Princess Celestia when she didn't get what she wanted. She was the one in the wrong. As she looked between Celestia's hand and pleading face, Sunset couldn't help but feel like she owed Celestia for putting up with her for so long. She took a deep breath before she slowly unclasped her hands from her legs. A sigh escaped her as she realized she was holding her breath before slowly showing her arms to Celestia. When Celestia saw the cuts, she brought Sunset's arms closer to inspect her injuries. Blood dripped down her arm from the multiple lacerations spread throughout her arms. Thinking quickly, she reached under her seat and took out a first aid kit. First, Celestia took out gauze pads and bandages. Next, she pulled out a cloth and reached into a backpack with rubbing alcohol. She soaked the cloth and gently but firmly began to clean Sunset's cuts. Once she was satisfied, she grabbed the gauze pad and antibacterial cream and put them on the cuts since they were the deepest of the cuts on Sunset. "Sunset, I know this past month has been difficult. However, I can't help but notice that there are older cuts that have already healed. How long have you been cutting?" asked Celestia worried, when Sunset answered her with silence, she moved onto her next question. "These ones look fresh. When did you do this?" "In the park before you and the vice-principal Luna arrived," Sunset spoke quietly as tears collected and silently dripped down her face. "Sunset do you have a social security or any ID on you so I can take you to the hospital?" asked Celestia, as her worry increased, she was just a high school principal. She only knew the basics of first aid. Unfortunately, Sunset needed more than basic first aid that she could provide. "No, why? Sunset responded as she could clearly hear the concern the worry in Celestia's voice, trembling. That was one of the benefits of living with Princess Celestia. She could read her more basic emotions. "I can't take you to a hospital to get these checked without one. They would discover that you're on your own, and that would cause them to dig into your past, and they could find that you're not from this world. That's a risk I don't want to take, so I'm going to take you to a family doctor to have your arms checked. While you there, we'll see if you have any other injuries that I cant spot, okay?" "Yes, Celestia," Sunset sighed. She was fine. The cuts weren't even that bad compared to past ones. There was just more this time, making them more noticeable. Celestia helped Sunset put on her shirt, being careful of her back and injuries on her arm. Celestia glanced over at Sunset as she pointedly looked out the window. Celestia could tell that she was less than pleased about all the "fuss," as she would've put it. Celestia could also tell just how tired Sunset was from the way she leaned against the frosted window of her car. Celestia let out a sigh before she put the car in drive before heading to the private clinic. After 20 minutes in the car, they arrived at the clinic. Celestia quickly parked the car before walking around to get the car door for Sunset. She reached in and grabbed her car once Sunset got out of the car and the two entered the clinic. As Celestia spoke with the receptionist, Sunset sat in the waiting room and carefully leafed through the magazines on the table. Minutes later, Celestia sat next to her. "It's only going to be a few minutes before Doctor KindHeart can see us," she informed before seeing Sunset nervous "are you feeling better?" Celestia asked Sunset. "Yea, I guess. But how come you want to help me?" Sunset asked, genuinely confused as to why someone wanted to help her. It seemed that everyone she got close to was hurt in some way. Having Celestia wanting to help was confusing Sunset more than she would like to admit. "Sunset, you are one of my students, meaning that even if you were the Sunset before the Fall Formal or even at the Fall Formal, I would do the same thing if I found out you were in this level of distress. One that I appreciate very much, and I want to help you, will you let me?" Celestia asked kindly. "You already are, aren't you? I suppose I should thank you for wanting to help me, huh," Sunset smiled as small tears gathered in her eyes. "You do not have to thank. I'll always be there for you. Speaking of you need someone to watch over you. I want to be that person, and which is why I want you to come live with me. Though if you're going to live with me, I ask that you call me by my name, not Principal or Miss, please," said Celestia kindly. Sunset nodded and was about to say something when she was interrupted by a voice over the PA system. "For Sunset Shimmer," called a speaker. "Do you want me to accompany you?" asked Celestia "Yes, please," Sunset said shyly. Sunset was starting to realize that Principal Celestia was not like the Princess at all. Where the Princess was stricter and at times very stoic and would only show emotion in private. Principal Celestia was kinder, more gentle, openly compassionate to everyone she met. When Sunset walked into the office with Celestia, the doctor ran some blood tests. Once she was finished with that, the doctor began asking her questions on all the basic information. "Sunset's age?" Dr. Kindheart asks. "I just turned fifteen," Sunset replied. "Do you do any sports?" Asked the doctor "She's on the school volleyball team, plays middle blocker, I believe," Celestia replied. "Do you drink alcohol, like wine or beer?" Dr. Kindheart asked as she types away on the computer. "Sometimes, the lady next door gives me some as a gift for my parents. I only have some when it's too much, you know," said Sunset lowering his head. "Well, there won't be any more of that for at least six years, young lady," Celestia replied in a firm yet gentle tone. Sunset nodded as she played with her fingers. She continued to answer questions on her basic health and other questions. Once the doctor was finished with the question, she was quiet for a few moments as she looked over the data and continued typing in some fields. She then stood up and checked the eyes and ears. Once completed, she stepped back towards the computer before she turned around and asked Celestia to leave so she could finish her checkup on Sunset. Celestia had nothing better to do in the waiting room, so she ultimately decided to call Luna. She paced as the phones dialed the number and began to ring after what felt like ages but was in reality only one fifteen seconds she heard the typical greeting from Luna. "Yeah, was up? Did Sunset get home safely? Did you talk to her parents? How is Sunset? Luna asked. "Hello, Luna. I'm at the family clinic. Oh, Luna, she was riddled with injuries, some on her back and self-inflicted cuts along her arms. All this time, she has been living on her own. So I talked it over with her, and she will live with me." "And her parents, why aren't they take care of her?" Asked Luna. "Her parents both in her world and in this one died. I'll be looking into their death once Sunset feels comfortable enough to give me their names. I'm just happy I found out at least now she does not have this alone," Celestia sighed. "Well, at least she has you. You alright if I will swing by your house later," Luna said, worried about Sunset. "At what time?? Celestia asked . "How about seven or eight, and I'm right in the middle of things, and it sounds like you have everything under control on your end, like always," Luna said. "Don't stay up too late, goodbye Lu, I'll see you later," Celestia said. "Bye, Tia," said Luna before the line cut dead. It wasn't that long until the doctor came out and informed Celestia of some exams and small surgery that Sunset would have for her cuts. Sunset was given anesthetics before the doctor and nurses cleaned her arms and gave her the tetanus shot before her back and arms were bandaged before holding her for observation for thirty minutes. After the exams, the doctor called Celestia. "How are the results, Dr. Kind?" Celestia asked the woman when she left Sunset's room. "Well, they are not as bad as we feared, given her condition. She is extremely malnourished, which is why we think it has taken her back so long to heal, though, with proper care and nutrients, it should heal nicely. She will need to be extra careful with her wrist will need care. She cannot hold heavy things for at least two weeks and make sure she doesn't move them around too much. I'm concerned with stitches popping. They will at the least take two weeks before the stitches can be removed, though, given her current state, I would like to keep them on for longer, but that up to her. Ultimately it's up to her so long as the cuts have closed, thankfully there will be no long-lasting injury," Dr. Kind explained in as much detail as possible. "Can I go in to see her? Celestia asked. "Yes, that won't be a problem; both of you can leave in about an hour once we're finished with observation," Dr. Kind nodded as she wrote something on her notepad. Celestia entered Sunset's room and saw the girl sleeping. Though considering the stressful day she probably endured, it was a given that she would be exhausted. After thirty minutes, Sunset began to stir. "Celestia? Wha- Oh, that's right. Umm, how did the tests go?" Asked Sunset. "You're malnourished, they bandaged your wrists and back, but I'll help you along the road to recovery, I promise," Celestia said with a motherly smile as she stroked Sunset's hair. "Are you going to go?" Sunset asked. She didn't want to be alone right now. "No, I'm not. I'm going to stay here until you're cleared to go. I can take you home in half an hour." Celestia said as she gave Sunset's hand a reassuring squeeze. "Thank you," said Sunset quietly "Now I'll be back, Sunset. I need to make a call. Should take too long, and I'll be back," Celestia smiled at her. "Okay," Sunset nodded. Celestia smiled at her before she left the room. After dialing the number, Celestia waited before a formal voice answered the phone. "Hello, Chrysalis speaking." "Hi Chrys, how are you?" Celestia answered. "Hello, Celestia. I am doing good, and you?" "I'm fine. Listen, Chrys; I need a favor. Can you help me out?" "If it is within my power to do so, yes. What do you need?" "Can you do some adoption papers for me, please?" Celestia asked. "Yes, but for whom?" "Well, you see, one of my students is living alone in a dilapidated building that looks like it was one brick from collapsing. Well, I got her out of there, but she doesn't have any legal guardians. So I'm taking her in so that I can help her out in her time of need, but she doesn't have papers." "It's okay, Celi. I'll see what I can do. Don't worry. See ya," Chrysalis said before she hung up abruptly. "See you later," Celestia said quietly to herself as she pocketed her phone and reentering Sunset's room. Celestia reentered Sunset's room to see her playing on her phone. "Interesting game?" Celestia asked in a soft tone. "Just puzzle game," Sunset smiled "Well, Dr. kind will be discharging you soon," Celestia smiled as she sat down next to Sunset. They didn't have to wait long before Dr. Kind discharged Sunset. Repeating everything, she told Celestia to Sunset before she wished them safety on their travels. Celestia helped Sunset in the car and head home. It was 7:00 p.m. when they arrived at Celestia's house. The house was located in a condominium that looked like it belonged to a millionaire. It was large, with two floors with a large entrance and a yellow gate to enter the house. "You live here?!? Sunset asked surprised Celestia smiled at her, "It's not just my house. If your living here, that means this is your home too. Do you like it? Sunset nodded, "It looks amazing." Celestia helped Sunset bring Ray inside, where she placed Ray's enclosure on her coffee table. "Let me show you around the house," Celestia said as she closed the door and began to show her the house. "Here is the living room and this bird Philomena in the cage. She is my parrot and one of my oldest friends," said Celestia pointing to the bird in a steel cage. "This is the kitchen. You can eat and drink anything but alcohol. You are still underage, and in this world, it is illegal for you to drink it. The bathroom is at the end of the hall on the left. The door to the right is the library inside the library. I have a study. You can enter to study or when you need me to help you do your homework." Sunset nodded. As Celestia continued to give her a tour, Sunset began to feel a warmth in her heart that she hadn't felt before. Unannounced to her that warmth was the warmth of a family. One that she had forgotten a long time ago. Celestia then took Sunset upstairs and gave her the tour of the floor. "Over here is a bathroom. Next to it is your room which is connected to my room," Celestia said as she gestured to the closed door. "It used to be Luna's room before she moved out and bought her own place. Maybe she'll take you to it one day. I think you'll like it. It's far more modern with all the fancy gizmos and such. I prefer the more classic look, oh the stories these walls could tell if only they could speak. Oh, there I go again, remember if you need my help at night, you can always knock on my door. Everything in the house is open to you. All I ask is that you respect my privacy. So please don't go into my room without me being there, understand?" Sunset nodded. Celestia walked to the nearest door to the bathroom before swinging open another door, "Good. Now, this is your room. Sunset, you can decorate it however you like." the room was blue with basic furniture, a bed, a closet, a nightstand, and a dresser. "Thank you, Celestia," Sunset replied as she walked over to the bed. "You're most welcome. Now, you get comfortable while I get the rest of your things. I'll throw some of your clothes in the laundry, so you have warm and clean clothes. In the meantime, while we wait for your clothes to get clean. You can borrow some of my old clothes. They might be a little big, but they're clean," Celestia went to her room and opened the drawer where she had clothes; she took out an orange long-sleeved shirt, red pants, and a blue jacket. She folded it and threw it over her shoulder before she came out of it with her clothes to Sunset's room and passed it to her. "Thanks," Sunset smiled softly. "You're welcome. How about I'll go downstairs to make you something to eat? Oh, and Luna will be coming over to have dinner with us, but that isn't until seven." "Okay... Does she knows I'm staying with you?!?" Sunset asked as panic set in. "Yes, everything will be fine, don't worry, you'll be fine," Celestia reassured Sunset as the panic slowly left her body. Sunset slowly calmed down as exhaustion set in before she nodded at Celestia. Once Celestia was sure Sunset wouldn't have a panic attack, she left to make dinner. When Celestia left, Sunset changed her clothes. After she changed her clothes, she started checking the messages she had. One was from Rainbow Dash saying that she should have stayed in that crater the night of the Fall Formal and that she was a useless friend for betraying their trust like that. Seeing the message caused Sunset to have tears overflow, and she hugged a pillow for any type of emotional support. Celestia went downstairs and noticed that down there was ray with her house, Celestia smiled at the lizard before taking the house and taking him up to Sunset's room. "Sunset, here is Ray I forgot we left him downstairs," Celestia opened the door and saw Sunset crying. " Sunset, honey, what's wrong?" Celestia asked as she sat on the bed and brought the girl's head closer to her chest "Nothing, just a message that I didn't like. That's all," Sunset sobbed. "Sunset could you show me the message, please?" Celestia worried about Sunset, and whatever someone sent her must have said something awful for her to get this upset. Sunset silently passed the cell phone to Celestia. Celestia's face became devoid of emotion as she read the message. Various thoughts raced through her head about what to do with Rainbow Dash, but she would have to focus on that later. She had more important matters to take care of than an arrogant student. Celestia placed the phone face down before she hugged Sunset and helped her calm down while the poor girl kept crying. "Sunset, honey, everything will be fine. I'll take care of you, and above all, I will protect you, okay? Don't let them get to you. You know you are innocent, and you know me and Luna believe you, and that's all that matters. I will always be here for you, 'kay?" Celestia smiled gently at her. "Yes, Celestia," Sunset cried on Celestia's shoulder as Celestia caressed Sunset's hair. It only took a moment before she calmed down enough for Celestia to take her downstairs to the kitchen, leaving the phone behind on the floor. Celestia put the TV on, and they sat on the couch waiting for Luna. Celestia popped a bag of popcorn as they watched a show about archeology. "Sunset, you're a vegetarian, right?" Celestia asked gently. "Yes, but I eat chicken and fish. They're pretty good," Sunset said with an embarrassed expression. "Perfect, I already have something planned that I think will be to your liking," Celestia said as she hugged Sunset before standing up to prepare dinner. It was five minutes from eight when Luna showed up. "Hi Sunset, how are you?" Luna saluted as she approached the girl. "Hi vice-principal-" Sunset said before Luna interrupted her. "Sunset, just call me Luna outside of school, please," Luna smiled at Sunset. "Okay, Luna," Sunset smiled back. Celestia set the table and served the food "What are we eating, Tia?" Luna asked. "Tonight's dinner is Teryaki chicken with stir fry," Celestia replied smugly. "I hate when you rub that in. It was one time, sister! One time," Luna said as she stomped off to the kitchen. A questioning look from Sunset had Celestia chuckling. "When Luna wanted to move out, I was worried she wouldn't look after herself. To prove she could, she tried to cook some ramen. Ironically, she got distracted when one of her guild members DMed her about a rare loot drop that was happening. So she rushed off to secure it. Unfortunately, she forgot about dinner and began looting runs with her friends. That is when I came home to a smoking pot. The pot was on the stove for so long that the water evaporated, causing the pot to weld itself to my stove. The noodles she stuck in before rushing off were nothing but a black and charred puck stuck to the bottom of the pan. I had to replace both my stove and a pan that day. I was so angry with her, but looking back on it, I can't help but tease her about it." Sunset and Luna helped Celestia set the table. Every time Sunset looked at Luna, it was hard to contain her laughs, especially when Luna found out Celestia told the story. With a less than pleased Luna, they all sat down to eat. The meal had Sunset twisting in her seat and happily wolfing down the food. Once they were finished with the meal, Luna washed the dishes as Celestia helped Sunset bring the dishes to Luna and put away the food. Afterward, the trio sat in the living room and began to watch a movie about a girl that could turn into a cat. Around ten o'clock, Sunset had just about enough for the day. She could barely keep her eyes open, and so she stood up and said goodbye to Luna. Then, she made her way to her room with Celestia behind her. Celestia helped her get her pajamas on and helped her to bed. As she did, Celestia hummed a lullaby her mother would sing to her as she moved around inside the room. When she went to wish Sunset a good night's sleep, she saw Sunset had already passed out. Smiling softly, she kissed her on the forehead when she saw Sunset sleeping. She carefully opened the door to the hall and gently closed it behind her. Celestia breathed a sigh of relief before she made her way downstairs. "How is Sunset? Luna asked, her previous mood being replaced with a serious one. "She's in a lot of pain, mentally, physically, and emotionally. She cannot hold anything in her arms more than two pounds," Celestia sat on the sofa next to Luna. "That must be tough for her. Fortunately, she has you in this moment of need," Luna with a slight smile. "I'm just happy I can be there for her. I love her, Luna. She's like the daughter I never had. I asked Chrysalis to do adoption papers. I plan to adopt Sunset," Celestia smiled softly at her sister. "That's wonderful news," Luna smiled back. The two talked a little more as she relayed the information that Dr. Kind gave her before talking about steps to take at school to help her. After the talk, Luna went home, and Celestia went upstairs. As she passed the girl's room, she peeked in to see how Sunset was adjusting. She opened the door and smiled as she looked at the girl. Sunset was in her bed, sleeping peacefully with a small smile pulling at her lips. Celestia smiled at the girl before she closed the door and went to her room. When she entered her room, she got ready for bed and lay down before falling into a dreamless sleep. At Luna's house. Luna arrived at her apartment. She left her keys hanging and sat on the couch to play video games. After a while, she began to get ready for bed, but she stopped as she dialed Chrysalis' number. "Hi Chrys, how are you??" Luna asked as soon as Chrysalis answered. "Good love, I miss you, but I have a lot of work. So I won't be home until after 3 a.m. "Don't worry, babe. I understand. I love you. Take care of yourself, yea? I'll see you tomorrow before I go to work. Are you are doing the adoption papers for Tia, right?" Luna asked sleepily. "Yeah, I'm working on them right now. I love you, Lu. Good night," Chrysalis said softly. "Good night," Luna said goodbye to Chrys before she hung up to go to sleep. At Apple Bloom's house. "Scootaloo, how is the plan going? If we continue like this, we will get our sisters back in no time," Sweetie said happily. "Hey Sweetie, how's the plan going so far, Bloom?" Scootaloo smiled at her. "Well, as you can see, all the students haven't said anything about Anon-a-miss. They are too busy taking it out on Sunset. It's perfect with them so focused on making Sunset suffer it makes it super easy to get dirt on them and keep it hidden from the teachers. Not even Principal Celestia or Vice-Principal Luna know about it. And with her track record, Ah doubt they would believe Sunset even if she does tell them. A pity our sisters abandoned her like that, huh? Ah do hate that we had to hurt them, but it will be worth it. She shoulda never tried to steal our sisters like that," Apple bloom smiled. "So, what's the plan for tomorrow?" Scootaloo asked "Tomorrow, we do the same thing. We post more secrets on mystable for everyone to see. It's going to be great," Apple bloom said. "Yea, let's do it," Scootaloo smiled. The trio set their alarms and settled down to go to sleep. At flash sentry's house Flash threw a bouncy ball at his wall and caught it before repeating the action. His mind was stuck in the times when Sunset was the queen bee of the school. "Sunset can't be anon a miss even when she was an awful and selfish person. She never went this far," Flash thought aloud. "Even after everything, I still feel a spark, it's small, but I don't think I'll get a chance with Twilight. Maybe she still feels the spark too?" Flash reflected. "When she was a bully, it was to keep herself safe to keep others at arm's length from her. But I don't think it's that anymore, or at least it doesn't feel like that. I'll find her tomorrow. I will tell her that I love her and that I want her to get back together with me. I've seen how others treat her, and it is not fair. she deserves to be happy too, and even though I'm not a "prince charming," that doesn't mean that I can't save a girl who needs me." Flash grabbed his guitar and started playing and writing a song about Sunset to sing to her on Friday after school. After working through a few lines and a melody, Flash put his guitar on the stand and got ready for bed. Before he closed his eyes, he made a promise. "Don't worry, Sunset. I will be there for you. I will protect you, and I will be there for you. I promise I will be a rock for you to cling to in the rough waters that are to come."
