The Misadventures of Discord and Luna
Tonight was like any other, Luna had begun to relax once she held the moon over the peaceful sleeping ponies, over Canterlot, Manehatten, Ponyville, and all of Equestria.
Many would say being a princess would seem so easy from how Luna and Celestia made it out to seem but that was far from the reality.
Luna was standing off the balcony that was connected to her bedroom, she liked to have an open-air to the sky as did her sister. They both relished the moments they didn't have to play out the poker faces and image of the all-knowing well-intentioned ponies.
Most ponies whether intentionally or not, seemed to make Luna and his sister out to be goddesses of all nigh power, while not completely untrue they were very much like any pony. Save for the fact they had higher power, in terms of magic and political standing but neither was important at the moment.
Luna began to focus and control her magic, to will it into the form of a spell she created herself to control the stars, she did find the same pattern rather boring. And trust a millennia-old Alicorn when she says it gets boring, she had actually created the spell in sort of an accident. In the midst of her old teacher, Starswirl explaining to the old mare now and young filly then on spiritual magic.
She shook the thoughts of old, while always nostalgic she would rather focus on the stars above like any other night. Luna had always sort of a touch to the artistic view of the stars, she had always poured her heart into the beauty and tonight was no different.
The stars twinkled while she began to move it with her magic, the very presence of the night princess had that effect on the stars, it was her cutie mark after all. She had prided herself on the effort she put out to the sky for all to see, partly why she was jealous of her sister back then, did cover up her beautiful pieces-
No, Luna had shaken her head of ill thoughts of back then, she felt happy with what she had and was not going to complain about the resentment she had long ago.
Luna was content with what she had and was not going to ask for more, she had control of the moon and her stars, there was little she'd change with her current position she had gained back.
A red dragon tail with white fur at the end had seemed to appear in front of Luna while she was in thought. She was slightly surprised but knew who it was that was attached to the tail.
"My my, a princess in deep thought? Perhaps I could be of assistance?" The voice was immediately recognizable and was quite well known to any creature that knew of the Lord of Chaos.
"Hello, Discord" Luna wasn't particularly excited to see Discord but wasn't entirely in distaste of him, spending time with him wasn't entirely horrible.
He was hanging above the rooftop merely sitting on the railing of it having his tail out. He laughed moving to contort his body to twist his figure to slighter down a pillar. He stood up to move closer to Luna while standing on his hind legs.
"So, tell ol' Discord what's wrong" he began to relax and lean onto the railing of the balcony but with no support as if he was leaning on an invisible wall. "whatever happens stays confidential between you and me." He held a toothy grin and one lion paw onto his lips with a wink.
"While I won't say your presence isn't bad-"
"Aw, looney" Discord had comically pulled onto Luna's right cheek with an equally as comical outfit.
Luna slapped his talons that was holding her cheek and shut Discord by holding a hoof up, "as I was saying, while your presence isn't bad, I must wonder if this is a substitute for your scheduled meetings with the element of kindness"
Discord had folded his arms and place his talons on his chest to speak out of the heart. "Well, 1. Rather rude to interrupt a pony while speaking-"
"Like you are one to talk" Luna responded to the first topic and rolled her eyes
He put a genuine hurt expression, "And 2. I'm hurt that you would think I would try to replace you with Fluttershy."
"I am rather sorry, you are right it was quite presumptuous to think that you would do that."
"I guess I will forgive you but," Discord dropped all the joking tone out the door to swap with a serious expression on his face, "there is something of a matter for why I am here."
Luna rarely saw him serious even while fighting him off in a fight he would treat it as any other joke. "What is it?" She held a serious look herself to keep herself still for what may come.
He kept the serious look before switching to a more relaxed look even holding a small smirk, "Wanna help me out on some adventures?"
Luna was completely caught off guard from the offer, "huh?"
Discord began to float onto the air and snapped his fingers to hold a deck of cards, they seemed familiar to Luna. "When I have a bit of business to look over some other universes and I thought, well why not invite my favorite alicorn! Then I realized tia was busy most of the time so I thought 'why not invite Luna'"
Luna was completely dumbfounded by the offer, it seemed completely out of this world, literally.
He had gone back on the ground while leaning back to the railing. "If it helps, you were at least on the top 5" he spoke with a toothy grin and cards gone.
Luna rubbed her head with her hoof avoiding her horn, "there is only 5 alicorns Discord" she was this close to turning him to stone herself.
"Hm, well yes but insignificant details really" he had waved off the counterpoint entirely with a wave of his lion paw.
"Ugh"
"So, are you in?"
"Discord, while I appreciate the offer I have duties here, I patrol the dream realm and safeguard ponies."
"Well, I'm not asking for a road trip." He seems to shrug off the idea entirely.
"What are you asking?" Luna raised an eyebrow.
"Luna, tell me honestly, do you wish to stalk the dream realm for eternity?" He spoke with a drip of distaste over the order of it.
"Well, no but-" she began to open her mouth to start some dribble drabble of the importance of responsibility, blah blah Discord thought no doubt.
He put a talon on her muzzle to shush her, "Ah no buts, I am not making us go through a year-long trip, I am merely asking when the time comes or you feel rather bored of your royal duties, would you want to join on a quest with me?" He put away his talon from her muzzle to let the princess speak again.
"Discord I can't just go on silly quests-" she started to speak but Discord was not having any of that rehearsed speech in her head.
"Ah but they aren't silly, some may very well affect how ponies lives" he spoke, as a matter of fact, he turned his direction out to the balcony before continuing "or whether they at all." He spoke seriously this time, with no double meaning or snark.
Luna stopped at that, she took a long good stare at the draconequus with a serious expression, he was rarely if at all straight forward, she knew that from personal experience.
"Elaborate Discord" Luna spoke in a calm, serious tone.
He didn't seem to miss a beat though and just turned around with a less serious expression, "I mean that we could be helping ponies that need help, real help, just think about it, Luna." He smiled before leaving with a snap of his talons and a blinding light.
Luna covered her eyes with one of her forelegs, to say tonight has already been eventful would be an understatement. But why all she could think was why he was so insistent on her joining along?

The Misadventures of Discord and Luna
Chapter 1 - The First Trip To-
After the nightly search of any nightmares in the dream realm, I had come back to the waking realm to lower the moon. Tia next to me raising her sun was speaking to me during the rehearsed actions we were taking.
"So why do you think Discord had given the opportunity to you?" Tia asked slowly rising the sun to its peak while I was giving way for the sun to move.
"I have no idea, sister, initially I assumed it was out of boredom but I feel as though he has some sense of logic for asking me. I feel as though there is a greater purpose for my role in the pieces." I had completely moved the moon out of view from our side of the world while Tia had set up her sun to its peak.
"Come now lulu, you know as much as I do that the elements of harmony's bearers have rubbed off Discord. Maybe he seeks to make a new friend? Wouldn't be the most outlandish thing we have come across." Tia held a smile onto holding that theory, I could've tried to dash the theory all together but seeing that smile made me waver in responding with such cynicism.
"Well I'm glad we could speak of this, you should head to bed Luna." She seemed so happy, I couldn't bring it down so easily so I held my tongue.
"Very well, thank you for listening to me, sister." I moved away from the royal garden; a place Tia and me seemed to enjoy so much we have revisited it for most of our roles of rising our respective orbits of life.
I had moved through the halls thinking of why Discord was so eager to gain an ally in these 'adventures' it seemed so odd for some creature like the Lord of Chaos to seek companionship especially concerning me as a choice. Mayhaps sister was right, it's hard to think Discord: 'The Lord of Chaos' from a millennia ago would go so far as to keep a friend like Fluttershy by limiting his power solely for her.
I had retreated to my chambers to find that representative of said lord of chaos laying on my balcony.
"Discord?" I was surprised to see him so relaxed and in my chambers no less.
"Oh hey Luna, I was wondering how you guys reach the sun and moon so accurately for time estimation every day. I counted the minutes to see how close your moon and sun were to timing from previous records and I have to say, I'm quite surprised you both have kept it so startlingly accurate."
"It comes with practice," while the appreciation of our timing was rare I had to dismiss it entirely for the main subject at hand. I focused my vision on Discord "but why are you here?"
"Well there has been some urgency of a sort of call from another universe, would you like to join?" He grinned at the prospect of me joining him but I dismissed it entirely.
"Discord, daytime is when I sleep to let my sister rule so I would rather take a nap."
He looked surprised by my response, "pah, Luna, you raise the moon scour through the dream realm, play around with stars, and then let down the moon just to sleep away for it all to repeat. Do not tell you are going to pass up the opportunity of adventure."
I scowled at him, "Do not take my work so lightly Discord, you may be an ally but I have no problems with turning you back to stone myself."
His smile wavered a bit at that and played along with a wave of his talons, "Very well, I am sorry for dismissing your duties; I'm sure they are very vital, but you can't tell me you've never wanted to break off from the schedule."
"It has crossed my mind." He had grinned like a mad stallion, well draconequus.
"Great!" He snapped his talons before I could utter in a word a slow rip in space, possibly even time began to form. It began small like a wormhole but a fracture-like form, cracks began to form in mid-air above the balcony lining.
The cracks, though small began to grow wider and thicker creating space in the lines to become bigger until it was a swirling wormhole of clockwork.
I was beyond astounded but shook my head and turned my attention away from the spectacle and towards Discord, "What have you done!?"
He merely looked overjoyed before I protested with my displeasure, he shrunk his smile to more of a medium pleasure of content.
"Well, you said you thought of taking a break so what better than to make that break now?" He spoke with a rising grin stretching across his face.
I face hoofed and spoke with slight irritation, "Discord," I lowered my hoof hanging in the air while I continued my displeasure in this quick turn of events. "I did not mean now!" I had stomped my hanging hoof onto the ground at the exclamation of my irritation.
He had looked slightly disappointed at that with the sudden drop of his enthusiasm until his eyes lit up with excitement and a clear indication of thought running by his mind.
I was suspicious of his next move, "What are you planning-" while in the midst of my sentence he had rolled his wrist to signal movement. "Wha-" before I could utter another word I had noticed that same rip of reality moving behind the both of us and before I could move it had sucked me in.
The feeling was odd, much like using a teleportation spell for the first time; which is to say nauseating and makes the pony queasy or in this case me.
The world warped around me like a wash of colors melting into all sorts of colors before I was taken to a hill over a grassland, a field of flowers blooming under the edge with plenty of height between me and the below.
I was able to gain my grounding in the whole slew of a mess of experiences after a few seconds of recollecting my presence on the ground. Once I regained my calm state of mind I looked up to see Discord merely floating over me in the air, smirking.
"First time?"
