''Fillies and Gentlecolts!'' Discord announced, holding up a microphone to his level for everyone in the town to hear him. ''Welcome to the one and only Ponyville's Got Talent!''
A grand stage sprouted from the ground, making everyone shiver in their place. Lights were turning on and a bag of popcorn was conjured up for everyone to enjoy the show as Discord had also teleported three ponies to sit at the judges' chairs in front of the stage.
An elegant poised white unicorn with a fancy purple mane was looking confused as she was sat in one of the chairs, along with another white unicorn but with a blue mane and purple goggles, listening to music with her headphones. There was another pony with a grey coat and black hair, who was also looking confused.
''What in tarnation is this?'' an orange earth pony with a country accent asked.
''Haven't you been listening?'' Discord questioned, sliding across to her and cupping onto his own ear. ''This is the Great and Powerful talent show!''
Trixie huffed. ''And you let him use that phrase when I created it!''
Starlight bluntly rolled her eyes. ''Calm down, Great and Powerful Trixie.''
''Discord, can you explain to us what all of this is and why you dragged me here?'' Twilight interjected. ''You know that some of us have responsibilities to take care of at the moment unlike a certain draconequus.''
Fluttershy flew over to her friend's side. ''Now, Twilight! Don't be so rude. This may also be a responsibility for him, too. Like who knows? He might go along with this to help others.''
''How? What?'' Twilight stammered. ''What's a talent show got to do with responsibility?!''
Rarity cleared her throat. ''Judging, darling.''
''Yes, thank you, Rarity.'' Discord nodded in approval. ''You have officially earned my respect.''
''Oh! And I forgot one more thing!'' Discord snapped his talons and before everyone could blink, pegasi with wonderbolt uniforms worn on their bodies were teleported in front of them.
''Uh, where are we?'' Rainbow asked, scratching her head in confusion.
''Alright,'' Spitfire shouted. ''Who was the one who broke protocol and teleported us all randomly without warning us whilst doing our routine for a wonderbolt show?''
Everyone stood fearfully in place, whereas a draconequus conveyed in front of her.
''I believe it was I,'' he answered with a dignity bow. ''But let's not fool around here and get on with the talent show now, shall we?''
Fleetfoot flapped her wings excitedly and turned to the captain. ''Ma'am, can we? Can we?''
Spitfire sighed in defeat. ''Sure. Why not? We were just practising for a show.''
Discord smirked but saw a look on the lavender alicorn's face. He teleported to her side.
''You know, it was Princess Celestia who put me up to this.''
Twilight raised an eyebrow, not believing to what he was saying. However, she shook it off with a sigh and joined the other contestants as well. Discord used his magic to teleport the contestants backstage.
''Oh, um, Discord?'' said Rarity. ''I hope you don't mind me having Fluttershy practice for her singing she would be doing for the talent show as a solo?''
''What?!'' Fluttershy squeaked, shrinking down.
Discord nodded as Rarity gave a smirk and held onto the yellow pegasus' hoof to drag her behind the stage to join the other contestants. Meanwhile, Discord teleported himself on the stage and tapped on a microphone to check if it was on.
''Good afternoon, my little creatures!'' he declared into the microphone. ''Welcome to one Great and only Powerful Ponyville's Got Talent! And now, will you all please do a round of applause for our first contestant...''
''...Applejack!''
The whole crowd started cheering as an orange earth pony with a cowgirl hat on top of her head was mysteriously shown on stage with a lasso in front of her.
''Hello!'' Applejack said. ''Mah name is Applejack as previously mentioned n' I will be doing some amazing tricks with mah lasso so get ready with a gutty of a lifetime, partner!''
She started bucking her hooves in the air as she span her rope in the air with it. Everyone was stomping their hooves in applause as the cowgirl had also grabbed an apple from one of the trees and stuck it inside her mouth, chewing it in delight.
Trixie, peaking at the performance from behind the curtains, muttered under her breath, ''Is that all she can do? The same trick?''
''Look who's talking,'' Rainbow murmured.
They both growled at each other until they heard a voice announcing from outside.
''Alright and the next contestant we shall have is...'' Discord trailed off, grabbing some tension on the audience's faces. ''Trixie Lulamoon!''
''Yay!'' Starlight cheered, hugging onto her friend. ''Good luck, Trix.''
Trixie gave a sheepish smile before trotting out of the curtains and into the spotlight. Her legs were shaking due to her unusual stage fright. With a swallow, she levitated playing cards from her magicians hat.
''Alright,'' said Trixie with another gulp. She bowed down to reach one of the foals' level and gave them her cards for them to shuffle and placed one card at the front. ''Okay, um, it's...the Princess of the Moon one?''
The filly stared at her, expressionless. Trixie's forehead was dripping sweat as they kept on looking at her with no expression. They slowly lifted up their other hoof to show the card to the azure-coated unicorn.
Trixie's eyes spread out. ''I got it? I GOT IT!'' She dragged a pink unicorn close to her. ''Starlight, don't you see? I'm a living fortune-teller! And that's even more powerful than Princess Twilight Sparkle!''
''Um, Trixie?'' Starlight whispered. ''You might want to relook at that card again.''
Trixie raised an eyebrow, snatching the card from the filly's hoof and stared fixedly at the card.
''I...didn't get it?'' Trixie's eyes stared down miserably until she felt a hoof shove on her shoulder.
''Hey, it's okay, Trix.'' Starlight smiled sympathetically at her friend.
''Whatever.'' Trixie, with a dull expression on her face, sadly trotted off into the curtains again.
Discord, with a microphone, floated onto the stage beside the pink unicorn. ''Okay, and the next contestant that will be up is...none other than...Starlight Glimmer!''
Starlight chuckled slightly, rubbing onto her hoof nervously as she hesitantly faced the crowd with her legs wobbling but she cleared up her throat to begin.
''Can anypony do...this?'' Starlight duplicated another version of herself. There was a lot of ''wows'' and ''oohs'' coming from the audience. With a smirk, she disappeared her other self away and faced the crowd again.
''Okay, uh...how about...you!'' She pointed a hoof at a colt in the audience. ''Come up here so I could do a trick on you...I mean, with your guardian's permission.''
The mother of the colt peacefully nodded in response which hyped the pink unicorn up and levitated him into the air, causing everyone in the crowd to gasp. Without hesitant, she turned him into a...baby?
''An age spell?'' Discord muttered through his microphone. ''How could a unicorn do an age spell? Not even Princess Twilight Sparkle can do that!''
''It's true,'' Trixie conceded as she crossed her hooves. Twilight growled at her.
''Well, that really is impressive,'' said Minuette, a blue-coated unicorn.
Starlight blushed but Discord yanked her off the stage and spoke into the microphone again.
''Next up we have...Fluttershy!''
There was a moment of silence as he had called out her name. He cleared his throat into the microphone.
''Fluttershy? FLUTTERSHY!'' he roared, trying to get her attention but all he could hear was a whimper from the curtains that was hiding the backstage.
''Oh, for the love of- can somepony please drag her on stage?''
''Will do!'' Rainbow declared with a salute and easily pushed her out of the curtains due to her light weight.
Discord dropped a sigh of relief and flew over to the other side of the stage with a checklist and glasses to note down her performance which he obviously knew would be amazing.
Fluttershy circled her hoof to the ground. ''H-Hello, everypony. My n-name is Fluttershy and I'm here to...''
''Oh, cut with the social anxiety and speak up!'' said one of the ponies from the audience.
Fluttershy toughed herself up a bit. ''Hi, everypony. My name is Fluttershy and I am singing a song that would BLOW. YOUR. MINDS!!!''
Everyone's eyes spread out due to her loud tone but acted casually again.
Fluttershy cleared up her throat to begin:
They say that I'm nothing but a quiet mouse,
but what they really don't know is I don't bounce,
like most other ponies,
a lot might know this about me,
that I try to toughen up,
but they treat me like a snub.
Everypony seems to put me down,
even if I seem to be afraid of one single clown,
they think I'm scared of everything,
but they don't know the real me!
Me, me, me, me, me, me!
She came to halt as her tone had suddenly went low. Everypony stared at her blankly as she was sheepishly tittering to herself. Then all of a sudden, a loud roar of an applause shot through the yellow pegasus' ears.
Fluttershy couldn't believe it. She did it. She looked up to see a draconequus smiling over her and picking her up from the ground to give her a tight squeeze.
''My dear!'' he murmured. ''You were so wholesome! So brave!''
Fluttershy blushed. ''Thank you, Discord. Thank you, all!''
Discord carried her to the back of the stage with the other contestants but came back on stage to announce the other contestant that would be playing next.
''Next would be Pinkie Pie and Princess Twilight Sparkle!''
Everypony was murmuring to each other exuberantly as the two contestants trotted out of the curtains.
Twilight cleared the lump from her throat. ''I would be analysing the key terms to what it's like to be on the moon and my friend Pinkie Pie here will be flying to the moon.''
''Hold up!'' said one of the ponies from the crowd. ''Is that even possible?''
''Well, duh!'' Pinkie spat. ''Neil Armstrong did it so why can't I?''
''Uh, who?'' Twilight asked.
There was an ''ooh'' from the crowd.
''Twilight doesn't know something.'' Trixie snickered, having Starlight nudge her in the side.
Luna coughed.
''Oh. Right.'' Pinkie sheepishly rubbed her arm. ''And her.''
''Anyway,'' Twilight said, ''to be on the moon, it has lots of talcum-powderlike dust mixed with a complete variety of pebbles, rocks and boulders. And there is no gravity on the moon, just sand. But don't worry because Pinkie Pie here will explore if there's perhaps any chance of aliens living on there, to make this world fun?''
The half-slept ponies from the crowd suddenly woke up to the sound of 'fun'. They all murmured exuberantly to each other again.
Twilight nodded to the side of her and Pinkie Pie hastily hopped onto a rocket that was coloured red with black and white stripes. She wore her helmet for safety precautions and turned on the engine. She yelled out for a certain draconequus to let the rocket fly into the air with his chaos magic.
''Now, on a count of three, the rocket goes up.'' Twilight trotted across the stage. ''Repeat after me.''
Altogether:

Two,
Three!
The rocket soon blasted to the sky, leaving everyone gazing at it. Pinkie Pie was waving at the pegasi standing on clouds exuberantly outside of the rocket's window.
As it reached straight up where nopony could see it anymore, Discord conveyed onto the stage and shook the lavender alicorn with his snake tail.
''Anyways, the next contestants are three little fillies: the Cutie Mark Crusaders!''
Scootaloo peaked her head through the curtains and cleared her throat. ''The Cute Mark Jokesters!''
''Uh, right. Cutie Mark Jokesters.'' Discord whispered to Fluttershy who was below the stage. ''Bit odd, but will do.''
Three fillies with white, orange and yellow coats trotted onto the stage childishly and begin with their performance.
Sweetie Belle shuffled through her sheets. ''What do you call Princess Celestia that eats too much cake that her jeans would rip behind her?''
She winced as her sister made a look. ''Sweetie Belle!''
Celestia laughed, however.
''Um, Big Sunbutt?'' Discord guessed.
The whole crowd giggled along with the princesses. Twilight, on the other hoof, rubbed her hoof nervously and smacked herself on the face.
Sweetie Belle chuckled. ''Funny, but unfortunately that's not the correct answer. It's Cakelestia!''
''Ohhh, makes sense,'' Rainbow casually said.
Twilight was taken aback by this. ''What do you mean 'makes sense'?''
Rainbow shrugged.
Scootaloo snatched the sheets from the air that was floating in Sweetie Belle's aura of green magic. She struggled to read her handwriting as it was designed in choreography.
''What do you call a chipmunk that is stuck up a tree?''
Everyone just shrugged.
''A chipchunk!'' Apple Bloom soon found herself the only one laughing until she stopped and cleared her throat.
''Awkward,'' said Spike as he rubbed his arm.
Discord wagged them all off of the stage with the rest of the ponies who were knocked off by him.
''Okay. I'm tired so the very LAST contestants are the creatures from the School of Friendship who had taken over the Elements of Harmony's places. Now let's get on with this already, folks!''
An orange dragon, a blue griffon, a pink hippogriff, a light blue changeling, a brown yak and a light yellow colt trotted onto the stage with instruments in each of their hooves and claws.
''Um, we are actually here to perform a band,'' said the blue griffon.
''And one, two, three, go!'' Silver Stream declared with tune.
Sandbar was playing his guitar as Yona was just bouncing on the stage next to him. Gallus and Silver Stream tried to dance together but found it difficult due to the shaking... of... the... stage!
''Okay, okay, cut!'' Discord conveyed over. ''You're breaking the stage.''
Yona looked down at the stage below her and was suddenly brought down, dragging the others along. They all screamed in horror as they plummeted themselves underneath the stage.
Discord facepalmed himself but faced the audience again. ''I'll just announce the winner already.''
''It's...Fluttershy!''
''WAIT! HOLD UP!'' Rainbow shouted. ''I haven't even performed with the wonderbolts yet as promised and you're...you're being bias by picking Fluttershy!''
Discord placed a paw to his chest. ''Why, whatever do you mean, Rainbow Dash?''
''You can cut the act, buster!'' Pinkie joined in, crossing her eyes on him.
Fluttershy was just blushing in flattery with a gold medal around her neck given by Rarity.
''I think it's pretty sweet of him...''
Rainbow groaned. ''You know what? We're leaving! Come on.''
They were all about to leave until the draconequus had blocked their path.
''Now hold it!'' he interrupted. ''Let's...do your performance and I'll pick fairly this time.''
The rainbow maned blue pegasus turned to her fellow wonderbolts and gave a defeated sigh as she took out her hoof to bump onto Discord's fist that was given out.
''Let's get this over with.''
The wonderbolts all flew high above the stage, having everycreatures' eyes gazing at them. Spitfire nodded to both of her sides and whistled for them to start.
Spitfire and Fleetfoot were doing loops on each side with the other wonderbolts flying increasingly in between and did a huge loop. However, Rainbow was eager enough to do a sonic rainboom whilst they were all doing their tricks.
Licking her lips, Rainbow cracked her hooves and blasted herself off to collect all of the energy in her wings and struck a sonic rainboom in the air.
Which she succeeded, of course.
I mean, why wouldn't she?
Glasses were falling over Discord's eyes until he resettled them back on. He laid a checkmark on his checklist with a pencil and dematerialized them away once the pegasi flew back to the ground again.
''Very well done,'' Discord commented. ''And now. The winner for Ponyville's Got Talent is...''
'Please pick me, please pick me, please pick me!' Trixie secretly begged.
''It's got to be us!'' Rainbow said, looking at her wonderbolt teammates with nods.
Discord opened his mouth, having tension appear on everycreatures' faces until he was suddenly interrupted by a flying rocket nearly plummeting to the ground with Pinkie Pie screaming inside.
Nevertheless, Discord simply used his magic to float the rocket down. Twilight released a breath of relief as it landed safely to the ground.
''Thank you, Discord!'' said Pinkie Pie, getting off the transport device. ''I landed myself on the moon safely and then I met cute little friendly aliens but turns out they weren't friendly at all since they blasted me right back to Equestria as apparently I was intruding on their planet so they were like 'get off our planet!'''
Twilight's eyes spread out. ''So there really are aliens?!''
''Uh-huh.'' Pinkie Pie nodded solemnly. ''Nasty ones too!''
''Yeah,'' Luna conceded. ''I remember when all of 'em tried to make me slip off of their planet.''
Discord cleared up his throat. ''Uhm, yes, right. Well, as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted.'' He trailed off to sent a glare at the pink earth pony, sitting innocently.
''Hey!'' Pinkie called, crossing her hooves. ''It's not my fault! Blame the aliens!''
''Right.'' Discord turned back to the audience. ''Anyways, the winner for the Ponyville's Got Talent is...''
Tension began on the creatures' faces again.
''...Applejack!''
''Huh?!'' everypony called out in unison, confused.
''Oh my Granny sakes!'' Applejack said. ''Thank you so much!'' He turned to the draconequus, confused. ''But seriously, how did I win?''
''Well, you're a background pony and you did good than a normal background pony would have done so I gave the role to you!''
Everypony started snickering, whereas Applejack just grumbled in annoyance.
''Gee, thanks, Discord.''
''Anytime!'' Discord shook the winner's hoof as she trotted back down and was met by a yellow pegasus.
''Congratulations, Applejack!''
''Thanks,'' Applejack muttered.
''Hey, do you know what this calls for?'' Pinkie asked.
''A party?'' Applejack answered monotonously.
Pinkie huffed. ''No, silly. How can we when the author is deciding to end the story?''
''I can see everyone is gone so I'll just grab my laptop and save the story,'' said Pinkie Pie as she did just that.
