//-------------------------------------------------------// We Are Clones: A Rimworld Story Simulation -by SwordTune- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Terminus Fringe //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Terminus Fringe Dimension: Equestria #065 Terrain: Temperate Woodland Hills with Developed Urban Ruins Starting Season: Fall Report Authenticator: Starbot Glimdroid XX-02 Dear Princess Twilight Day 1 through 3 Portal translocation successful. Arrived with cargo of fifty units of packaged survival meals, fifty units of medications, fifty units of mechanical components, three sleeping bags, one hundred units of steel, one plasteel spear, one energy rifle. Colonist health: questionable. Trix-Clone reported symptoms of nausea, dizziness, and loss of coordination characteristic of “portal sickness.” Flutter-Clone reported no symptoms. Began construction of the landing site base. Colonist mood uplifted by new environmental stimulus. Environment is temperate with defunct concrete and stone buildings interspersed between dense forest vegetation. Plentiful wood resources present in the form of “oak” and “birch” trees. The base was built within an existing, rectangular slate-brick structure discovered by Flutter-Clone. Structure was surrounded by large unknown chunks of mechanical scrap and steel, approximately one hundred and fifty kilos per chunk. While the source is unknown, material has been useful in the construction of the base. Two wood-fueled generators were constructed outside the domicile by Trix-Clone, while Flutter-Clone identified and tamed one of the indigenous fauna, Canis lupus. As of this report, she has begun training “Wolfius Maximus” to haul light loads to the base. Trix-Clone has, however, expressed fear of being eaten by wild animals, onset by a failed attempt to train Wolfius Maximus and receiving a bite to the leg. Treated Trix-Clone with one unit of medication. She is under observation in case of infection. Day 4 A unique occurrence arrived in the form of a pony, native to this dimension. Identified him as “Xadabrinra,” or Xad for short. Claimed to come from a “Veral Alliance,” a community of tribal locals dispersed across Equestria #065. Presented no bias towards our settlement. After careful consideration, Xadabrinra appeared to be a healthy specimen for further study and testing. Arrested peacefully and placed inside nearby ruins, refurbished as a prison. Suspect the “Alliance” will not be pleased. Request further aid via portal when possible. Day 5 & 6 Performed first surgical procedure on “Xad.” Harvested left kidney successfully. Cursory scan of the planet shows other factions or communities which may trade for organs and other such medical materials. Afterwards, a second stallion entered the colony area. At first, the colony believed it was a search party from the tribals. As the stallion entered, Trix-Clone identified it as a “wild pony.” Subject lacked normative social behaviour, did not engage with clone colonists until this unit attempted an arrest. Engaged with an energy pulse, shooting the subject in the head, torso, and limbs. Found a tattoo of a name on the back of the wild subject while administering first aid: Levi. Levi appears too elderly to work effectively for long. Even if assimilation with the colony society is possible, the process won't necessarily be profitable. Instead, consider harvesting for more organs. https://camo.fimfiction.net/VNL9ddAfxhycPPCSSEEuwNUu76QgnMmkVQXuUWdeHm4?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FqKZwPYl.jpg Trix-Clone disagreed, she appears upset by the practice. Should install a habitable eating area to boost colony morale. Following his arrest, Levi contracted infections at the abdominal and left forelimb injuries. Requires medication, but medication production is not operational: current stocks must be rationed. Will amputate the infected limb instead. Amputation failed twice before success. Day 7 Received distress signal from a pony named Nektaros. Presented himself as a “knight” of the Fallen Empire, a seemingly feudal society built from the remnants of a much more advanced civilization. Nektaros requested shelter from an ambush by a “pony-hunting duck.” Trix-Clone accepted the request out of curiosity. Fired upon and killed what was, indeed, a rabies-infected duck. Only a few hours later, a rocket-propelled shuttle landed on the outskirts of the colony to retrieve the knight. He left assuring Trix-Clone that she would be rewarded. Shuttle shortly arrived from the Fallen Empire, presenting an unknown device they referred to as a “psylink.” Trix-Clone willingly accepted the application of the device on her head. She described the experience as “powerful.” Trix-Clone now seems to express new psychic abilities. Unsure to be curious or concerned about newfound powers. Summary First week in this new dimension has yielded interesting results. Native populations offer possible sources of trade, as well as hostility. Psylink technology may prove exceedingly useful to Equestria Prime. Must investigate obtaining more from this Fallen Empire. Packaged survival meals have begun running low, leading colonists to resort to foraging berries and other fruits. Must consider planting crops for future sustainability. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Ancient Danger and Damage //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Ancient Danger and Damage Dimension: Equestria #065 Terrain: Temperate Woodland Hills with Developed Urban Ruins Season: Fall Report Authenticator: Starbot Glimdroid XX-02 Dear Princess Twilight Day 8 Flutter-Clone, while foraging berries, reported an unusual disturbance within one of the abandoned ruins. Armed Trix-Clone with energy rifle. This unit’s magical abilities were also deemed sufficient for combat. Upon forcing entry into ruins, Trix-Clone triggered a security system. Three mechanical guardians armed with scythe-like arms, Trix-Clone dubbed these “scythers,” assaulted us. This unit cast magic missiles and eliminated one. Trix-Clone shot another in its legs, downing the mech. Final guardian was destroyed by magic, but not before delivering a gash to Trix-Clone’s head. https://camo.fimfiction.net/26a4K-kvp33Jki-zO8iBQqxc_awRiff28C592HLF0pc?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fgpucvok.jpg Tasked Flutter-Clone with tending to the wound. Day 12 Trix-Clone continues to recover in bed. Fed two units of packaged survival meals and administered painkillers. Noticed behavioural changes during waking hours: unusual emotional outbursts and frustrations with “inadequate care.” Trix-Clone also presents reduced capacity for right-sided limb movements. Dismissed Flutter-Clone from care and investigated injuries personally. Scans indicate neural tissue damage from scythers, in addition to epidermal lacerations. By comparing injuries with salvaged parts of the mechanoids, and reviewing this unit’s memory banks for footage of the encounter, the injuries appear limited to the frontal cortex of Trix-Clone. This unit is not equipped to perform computed axial tomography scan to identify the extent of the damage to the tissue. Evaluation: Trix-Clone now suffers from impaired emotion and impulse control and partial paralysis in her right forelimb. Probable cause: Damage to the left prefrontal and primary motor cortex. Ability to levitate is unimpaired, mobility is the only issue. Emotional outbursts and vulgar comments are threatening to the colony morale. No stored protocol for treatment. Requesting medical robot “Starbot Glimdroid MD-11” to be sent for additional assistance. Designated a meditation spot for Flutter-Clone to reduce stress. Must recharge batteries after dealing with new behavior from Trix-Clone. Day 13 Resumed organ harvesting operations on Levi and Xad. Successfully collected heart from Levi. Levi passed away. Xad expressed heightened fear of the colony and suffered a mental break, attempting to destroy prison doors. Shot Xad in the legs with magic missiles. Xad passed away. Trix-Clone recovered from bed rest and has resumed work around the colony. Work efficiency slightly reduced by her limp. After hearing news of prisoners dying, she went on an insulting spree against Flutter-Clone, resulting in a social fight. Trix-Clone was kicked in the face, opening up the stitchings on her head. Administered first aid. Day 15 Raiders arrived south of the colony. Clothes and appearance indicate they are the Cambriar People, a hostile group of local tribals. Engaged with Trix-Clone, killing three and capturing one, who later identified himself as Mosquito. Remaining raiders fled. https://camo.fimfiction.net/Waw5gN8XXqolWbr6VghlHCxtpDgGYJe4JGMLJd1ciBM?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FANFC3Np.jpg Following the attack, whether drawn by the sound or by coincidence, a group of goats, abandoned or lost, wandered into the colony area. They seem accustomed to contact with ponies and joined the colony. https://camo.fimfiction.net/w8yIcCNnThylXhDEnHurP3_sRk_IuEnkyimJn5tfSGA?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FbInXnzI.jpg Food sources are scarce. Rice harvest partially spoiled by blight. Will most likely butcher male goats and rear females for milk. Day 16 A stallion contacted the colony using a radio, claiming to be a prisoner of a faction called Worshipers. He is held at a camp nearby, under the armed guard of automated turrets and at least one guard. Xavier is willing to join the colony if he can be rescued. This may be an opportunity to solidify the colony’s position in Equestria #065. Gaining allies will become valuable as more attention is brought on us. Yesterday’s attack is proof such measures are needed. If nothing else, Xavier may be another source of organs to harvest. Will consult with Trix-Clone and Flutter-Clone to deliberate response. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Fallen //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Fallen Dimension: Equestria #065 Terrain: Temperate Woodland Hills with Developed Urban Ruins Season: Fall Report Authenticator: Starbot Glimdroid XX-02 Dear Princess Twilight Day 17 Trix-Clone volunteered to respond to the rescue request. Despite warnings of danger, she insisted she could handle it alone. Answered concerns with a show of psychic power: the psytrainer she had obtained from the Fallen Empire manifested into a “Pain Block” technique. She claimed to be able to resist pain to a higher degree. Flutter-Clone reminded her that a clean shot through the brain did not hurt, but was still lethal. Suspect that cranial injury to the prefrontal cortex is now inhibiting mood regulation. Trix-Clone may be acting on emotion, trying to “prove” herself. Or she is just being herself. Inconclusive. During travel preparations, Trix-Clone repeatedly altered supply count. Low and medications, low on food. Unsure of what to bring. All packaged survival meals have been depleted. Rice stores: due to blight, currently inadequate. Novel idea: nutrient paste. Source of raw material, undisclosed to colonists. Installed simple designs for a machine to process meat proteins into digestible amino-acid paste for pony consumption. Results: Palatable. Further results: Flutter-Clone experienced a small mental break due to eating an “awful” meal. Meal tastes fine to this unit. Thought it was sufficient for energy needs. Trix-Clone elected to wait a day longer until Flutter-Clone recovered. Commendable. Trix-Clone tended to crops and cleaned up the colony while this unit constructed a genetics work table. Plan to investigate generating cloning material, in the event of irreparable or lethal injury to one of the clones. Later, the prisoner Mosquito escaped. This unit hunted down the prisoner. Mosquito died from multiple shot wounds. Shame. https://camo.fimfiction.net/-Iz_jWTer1AS-K8tabcvVfOPSPODrhihyVckGdztqa0?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FQFGvoZE.jpg Prisoner protein, however, should make no difference to the nutrient paste dispenser. Will try not to tip off Flutter-Clone. Flutter-Clone found out and is suffering stress from cannibalism. Must prepare for more mental breaks. Day 18 In the morning, an unusual metal pod crashed from the sky. Some beings in this Rimworld seem capable of great feats of travel. Space? One wonders how far. A curious creature. Mammalian male of unknown species. Dark-coloured skin with multiple tattoos and horns around the crown of the skull. Scan of the pod’s intact data identifies this species as a “Zabrak,” escaping some kind of war among the stars, referred as the "Star Wars." Addendum to the data labels the species as “property of the Mouse.” Such strange creatures, this Rimworld has. Recovered the Zabrak, named “Seducer” according to the last of the pod records, and placed him in a new bedroom. Assumed creature was concussed from the crash, however he displays symptoms of paralytic abasia. He is fully immoble and unconscious. Without further medical androids, cannot assess the extent of the condition. Can, however, harvest both eyes. He’s not using them, anyway. https://camo.fimfiction.net/PFL6gbh8kuN55RtvpQ_JcwOGOdWg4u75LIie1ctd-9Y?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FNH4u0Ka.jpg Detected unusual tension from colonists. To ensure unity, this unit maintained close observation of both clones. Overheard conversation in storage room, and the cause of tension was elucidated. Flutter-Clone tried to woo Trix by making an observation about honesty. Trix became aroused and agreed to become Flutter-Clone’s lover. Requested to be assigned a double bed. Was not aware of clones’ ability to love, but any morale boost is welcomed. https://camo.fimfiction.net/8Yqa9OQzhoDIRFJoRMzLG3BqFG-lohQlObAmBbLmdT0?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FxOmq4gb.jpg Day 19 Trix-Clone left in the morning with two packages of medicine and foraged berries, attempting to rescue Xavier. Perhaps brash action was the result of, or cause, of previous romantic entanglement. Cannot report on Trix-Clone’s success until her return. Can report that Zabraks have harvestable kidneys. Summary: Resources running low. Solutions available, but generate stress among colonists. Organ harvesting treatments have yet to prove profitable: no available traders yet. Perhaps should leave the colony to initiate trading. PS: Generated the first ampule of genetic material from parts of the dead prisoner Mosquito as a test of the genetics workbench. Given time, successful cloning may elevate the colony’s success. https://camo.fimfiction.net/VZWKhZZkCWi0BFtn5wyb23fng44NlB1RMSh84tMcxeE?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FR7dlTuy.jpg
