Our Father, who Art in Heaven
Equestria: a planet dominated by sentient creatures far and wide, each possessing their own unique traits and customs. For as long as they could remember, each continent had been ruled by one monarch or another. However, our story does not begin here. In another place, during another time, events far beyond mortal comprehension were beginning to unfold.
Far above the stars, beyond the curtain of space, two figures of dignified poise stood above a white veil. The azure sky above them resembled that of the world below. The first was a bearded, elderly stallion: fur, white as snow. Compared to his space-bound counterparts, he did not possess a mark derived from natural talent. The same circumstance applied to his associate: a red Pegasus cloaked in black.
"Ready when you are, pops."
"Very well."
The pair turned their attention to the lifelike mannequin before them. Behind chocolate bangs, her eyes remained closed, unresponsive to the world around her. The red stallion joined his foreleg with the unanimated puppet via intravenous needle. He spread his wings and ascended into the air, allowing gravity to work its magic. He paused only when the anemic effects began to set in.
"That's as much as I can give for now."
"Rest, my son. Patience will prove vital in completing her."
"You're not the only one eager to see what this new generation can do."
"You are all my greatest creations. Soon, your potential shall be realized."
"I hope so. Eight millennia's a long waiting period if you ask me."
"The four original angels: you, Michael, Azazel, and now...Her..."
The elder pony approached his work in progress.
"All of creation depends on you..."
In the northern hemisphere of Equestria laid the sleepy town of Meadow Park. Beyond the outskirts, a young colt rested soundly in his brother's room. His breaths kept in-time with the fan between them. Unbeknownst to his elder sibling, he had a dream that late summer afternoon. He dreamt of a white Pegasus: a mare with wings that could only be described as...Beautiful...
As the final drop of blood infused itself into Atmospheric's veins, her lids slowly began to raise. Her hazel irises gazed toward where her father stood.
"It's good to see you're finally awake." God stated tenderly.
"Who are you?" the newly-born angel questioned curiously.
"I am God: watcher of the higher domain and creator of dreams."
"Creator...?"
"Please, hold still for a moment."
The red stallion approached his sister, removing the needle from her skin before rolling down the sleeve of her jacket.
"This is my son, Lucifer: your elder brother. He assisted me in the development and execution of your design."
"How do you feel?" Lucifer inquired, testing his sibling's perception.
"Okay, I guess."
"Any pain?"
Atmospheric swayed her head from one side to the other.
"Looks like you're in good shape."
"You must have a great deal to ask," God recognized, "I'll answer to the best of my ability."
"What is this place?" Atmospheric pondered.
"It has been referred to by many names: Heaven, Asgard, and so on. This is a place for angels to live out their ideal eternities. Think of it as a convergence point where souls gather to spend a long period of time."
"But...I don't see anyone else here. Where are they?"
"In their personal sectors."
"Can we see them?"
"In due time. First, it's imperative I explain your role here."
"My role...?"
"You are a seraph: a warrior angel I created to protect the world below."
"There's another world below this one?"
"Equestria: a land ruled by many creatures across numerous races. Your brothers, Lucifer, Michael, and Azazel are archangels. Each of you are beings I conceived using my divine abilities. Yours alone far exceed those of typical spirits."
"I have powers...!?"
"To a limited degree. The difference between you and the others is, while they possess enhanced physical strength, your design was centered around agile movement. If my vision holds true, your speed and reflexes should prove second to none."
"I don't understand. Why?"
"It's difficult to explain without properly demonstrating. Allow me to clarify using visual assistance."
"Actually, before we go on, can I ask you something?"
"Of course."
"...Who is Harmonic...?"
God raised a brow.
"I beg your pardon?"
"When I opened my eyes, an image of a little boy flashed across my mind. Something about him felt strange: almost like I knew him."
"I see. Can you describe him for me? Perhaps we can locate him before your briefing."
"He has dark fur and a light blonde mane."
With a wave of his hoof, God opened a rift between space and time. The display resembled a computerized search engine.
"What color are his eyes?"
"I don't know. They were hidden like mine and Lucifer's."
"Regardless, that should be enough information."
The ancient patriarch entered Harmonic's identification traits. A match instantly popped up. He muttered two words of surprise.
"He exists...!?"
"Well, this just took an interesting turn." Lucifer chimed in. His smile betrayed a hint of smug satisfaction.
"Who is he?" Atmospheric inquired, unintentionally ignoring her brother's remark.
"It says here he just turned two this previous December," God replied, "His current location is Meadow Park in the northern continent."
"Can you see what he's doing now?"
"He's resting. I can show you if you'd like."
"I shouldn't invade his privacy."
"I understand. Can you explain what triggered your awareness of his existence?"
"For some reason, I felt powerful emotions pouring out of him. It's almost like his consciousness is transcending the boundaries between life and death."
"There have been mortals who managed to attain awareness of the spiritual plane, but I've never heard of one so young accomplishing such a herculean feat."
"Children are more sensitive to supernatural phenomena than adults," Lucifer reminded, "They'll occasionally see traces of residual energy others aren't privy to."
"Why?" his sister questioned.
"Because their brains aren't fully developed. They think more abstractly because they haven't been influenced by the world around them yet."
"I guess the level of energy isn't enough to raise suspicion for most people."
"Bingo. Most'll never notice until they go looking."
"Well, if that's settled, shall we move on?" God urged.
"Sorry." Atmospheric apologized.
"Don't apologize. We can return to the topic at a later date. In the meantime, please follow us. I'll explain your purpose as we go."
Atmospheric nodded. She strolled beside her family.
