Choices Defined
Sheild and I jogged through the dimly lit passages of the dungeon the only sound currently heard being our own feet and the rattling of my chains. We knew this wasn't going to last. I looked to the guard running beside me I was still nervous of him but right now wasn't the time for mistrust I had little choice if I wanted to see the light of day again. But he still needed convince me if I was to truly trust him.
"Hey Shield how are we gonna get out of here? I mean is their a secret way out or something?" Sheild huffed next to me tje two of us coming to a stop.
"No unfortunately no secrets here we have only one way out right out the front. I still have my story of your transportation thankfully so we should be able to go right out no problem."
"You don't sound very confident in that. Are you sure?" I asked trying to get a straight answer out of him. "Just shut up and do as I say. If all goes well we'll be out the front gate before they notice."
I looked to him. I can't believe he thinks this will work. At this point as I see it he is insane, a discredited lieutenant and a novice waterbender are supposed to get out of a heavily guarded castle alone. I really don't like this. Unfortunately I don't have a choice, especially if I want to stay away from whatever the princess of Equestria has in store for me.
...
Wait I have no idea what she has in store for me! Yes it could be bad but... shouldn't I trust Twilight?
Unhappy with my predicament I huff and turn walking ahead. Okay there's the door now all I have to do is-
....
"Shit"
In Canterlot
It had been a few days since news of a new elemental had graced Celestia. Currently the Princess was dealing with another noble moaning about how this newest elemental was 'threatening his way of life' and how ' Celestia just had to destroy these being before something disastrous happened'. Sadly he had a point there, the last thing Celestia needed was another attack on her ponies especially with the Elementals still resisting her rule. Knowing them as the opportunists they are it's highly likely take advantage of such a weak state.
"You have my word I shall deal with this new 'threat' accordingly. Thank you for your concerns. Now is their anything else?" Over the next two hours Celestia delt with two land disputes, a petty attempt at fraud, and of course price gouging...never a day without price gouging. However soon enough in walked a certain sister.
"Sister, hello what brings you here if I may ask?" Celestia asked not expecting Luna to arrive for another few hours.
"Well Tia, I have been in the library, archives, and historical records. What I've been looking for is some evidence of your rebellion claims. However what troubles me is I've found none." Celestia raised her head seeming ready for a confrontation however she only sighs and nods to her coruler.
"Come Luna I will divulge what I know." The two processed out of the throne room and down one of the many halls. "I had that information concealed. The exact reasons for the rebellion and fight as I stated it is in my quarters."
"I just hope it's not another one of your secret schemes.. finding them is getting redundant."
Twilight walked down the hall towards the dungeon. Cadence's explanation of things had left her utterly perplexed. Celestia was like a mother to her and to hear some if the things Cadence had said it...it was so... she didn't know how to feel about it. Was it possible she wasn't being told what she needed to make the best decision? And Cadence' warning... would Celestia really...?
"Ugh" she groaned what was she thinking Celestia would never do anything like what Cadence was suggesting. The princess would never 'use' me! The mere suggestion is..is.. "Ugh!" Twilight groans again. Forget it what she says doesn't matter right now. Arriving at her destination Twilight starts opening the dungeon door. I just need to-...!
"Shit"
Twilight stared at the two before her. The Lieutenant and Felix were...attemping an escape. "So you don't trust me after all." Twilight whispered the bangs of her hair hinding her eyes in shadow.
Shield and I stood shock still at Twilight's sudden appearance. After staring at us for a moment she began to shiver.. no not shiver shake. I heard her mumble something. Before hell broke loose.
Sheild was vaulted against the wall with a sickening crack. Falling back I look at Twilight only to see her eyes. Full of hate and anger brimming with tears. Scrambling to my feet I bolt back only to trip over my own feet.
Jogging with chains is not a problem. Trying to sprint forget it! As I begin running again I hear her call for more guards followed by the echoed clak. clak. claking of their boots. Taking a hard corner my restraints seize up bringing me face first with the cold stone floor. Looking down I see a small fissure in the stone. Latching on I pull opening a small passage. Quickly as I possibly can I drag myself in and use my feet to bring the cover back over the hole.
I have never considered myself lucky but if I survive today I will worship whatever god has blessed me this day. Making my way down the small cold crawlspace I soon fall into... water? "Wait sniff sniff oh come on!" Plugging my nose I continue on through waist deep sludge, crap, and who knows what else. I can't believe I fell in here but after what seemed to be another ten to fifteen minutes I found some good news. Up ahead it was opening up.
I knew their is always a..way...out?
"Why me?" I moan as I find myself at a three way junction. The way out could by any of these. Thinking I tried picking up on where the current was strongest which led me to the far left tunnel. I just hoped my intuition was right. It was getting harder to focus on the task at hand. I don't know much but inhaling this many different gases wasn't good for me I needed to hurry.
Still wading through the water I began to notice a change..the water was getting faster, lower, and ever so slightly it wasn't as gunked up with debris. I smiled I was almost there. As the water reach my knees I began to sway. Shit the fumes are getting to me I have to double time it before I pass out.
Stumbling again I can see something as I lean against the crusted wall of the pipe.
Is that light?... yes! Oh yes it's the exit. Finally I see the light of the sun again. Reaching out in my fume indused haze I touch...a wall. A wall of ice. It covers almost the entire opening of the pipe.
"No... No! I have come too far to be taken down by a candy ass wall of ice water." Focusing on the the chilling water around my ankles I feel waves start to form I widen my stance taking the frozen chains of my wrists and wrenching apart snapping them and sending me sprawling on my butt.
Focusing once more I find a numbing power coursing through my body. Snapping my eyes open I force all the strength I have towards the block of ice.
The ice creaks and sqeaks with the force before loudly cracking and falling out. The light beyond blinding me as I shut my eyes. Slowly opening again I have a hard time as my vision is mostly spots. The fresh air filling my lungs causeimg coughs and gags to erupt from my throat.
But nothimg can keep the smile off my face.
Finally I am free.
Getting out of the prison and sewer system underneath was one thing but now I'm face with a challenge I've never had before. I thought it was just winter or something but oh no how wrong I was.
The whole area was simply a desolate tundra and ice pack. All I had on was light clothes more suited for a temperate climate or the tropics rather than this hellscape. I am were already losing the battle with the cold. My pants were frozen some time ago and I briefly considered going back to the pipe but quickly dismissed that idea as it would just kill me faster.
So I trudged on through almost knee deep snow. Fortunately for me the weather was clear at least when I left the pipe so I had no problem finding my way. Unfortunately It hadn't meant to be and with the arrival of an overcast I have no idea what time it is so I don't know which way is south.
It's just getting colder now. I don't know where I am. Collapsing to me kmees in the snow I curl up. Through my vision of white I see someone approaching. No not someone something. The now brown blotch in my vision gets closer. I concede to my fate, passing out as it appears above me in this white abyss.
